This will be a bloody and gruesome Role play. So there will be blood, torn flesh, graphic violence. There might be nudity but I doubt there will be much sex but I still leave it as an open option. There might be elements of sexual assault(bastard pillager and bully Ted knows he's going to die and looks to fatigued half concious Susan bad things might happen) Also there might be elements of prejudice within this.

================================================
We are the first line of defence and the last. The shell that that keeps this land from being bled dry. So pick up a weapon hold it to you and fight with every ounce of strength you have. For the life you save won't just be your own.
The Gates
Tensions between the Empire of the sun, Archron and the Orc Empire and of Legaleese have been at a head for two centuries.
Four tons of petrified oak are the only way into Forged Peak. One of man's strongest and most well populated strongholds ever created.
Impregnable, immortal one of the strongest points in the Empire of the Sun and a place of joy, labour, wealth and growth.
That was until fifty thousand orcs marched up to the gates.
The greatest recorded Orc army recorded and they were already at the gates of the Forged Peak, having moved through the near endless darkness of the winters of the Forged Peak. Where nights last up to eighteen hours.
Using what magical abilities they had, they managed to sail across the dividing seas quickly enough to arrive before calls to aid came.
Caught unaware and stranded in their own homes there is no choice for Forged Peak to do anything but defend.
But on the Fiftieth hour the gates, which had never been breaded in a century, were broken down leaving the enemy to stream through.
You(your character), having been left to defend upon the walls of the gates themselves, repelling ladder attacks, siege towers and the like are stuck above the carnage that lays below.
--
The enemy already starts work re-raising the gates they crushed by their own hands, they want to take the city and use its vantage to defend against reinforcements, they are coming for the gates and those left above won't be kept alive long.
You have choices to make.
To fight to survive anyway you can think.
To fight to Defend
Or to give in to your most primal fears as death encroaches upon you with an absolute certainty you could never imagined feeling before.
The Gate isn't some giant wall that holds the gates. It is its own barracks, lab and armoury due to it's immense size and regular usage.
The higher levels are the most frequently used while the lower levels are meant for the people who work the gates themselves, State Guards, legionaries, Engineers and the like, designed to strike upon those who would try and take the gate.
So at the start of the RP the lover levels are relatively unknown to those who have never worked down below.
The upper levels.
These are the top two floors of the Gates themselves and the ceiling.
The ceiling is open, flat and wide, with one steel grate on the floor leading down to the upper floor of the gate house. It is the only way in from the ceiling. And is easy to lock on both sides.
This is also the starting point of the RP.
The Upper level is the ground level of the gate house from the walls. meaning there are two ways into the upper floors. Two thick wooden doors on the opposite sides of the structure are the only ways in.
There are two stairways leading own from the upper floor. To the main floor.
The Main floor.
This was at one point the busiest point as on this level is the lower barracks and store room. This is also where the pantry is.
---
The Gate room.
(This is incomplete. The list of details will grow constantly so keep an eye on this spot at all times.)
This is the last human Empire.
The only remaining human empire after all human empires were either crushed by other races or absorbed into the Empire of the sun.
Thousands of cities hundred of kingdoms within the lands of them empire.
It's growth can only be matched by the second largest kingdom on the world, The Legaleese empire.
Legaleese
The Orcs over the turn of time, growing more sophisticated as their human counterparts grew from their tribal upbringings to force free land and growth of their own.
Their skill in warfare and bloodlust allowed them to grow continuously until they themselves had an empire of their own, one who's growth was only halted by the fact that it's border had collide with the borders with the Empire of the Sun.
The Races
There are a dozen races within this world but the only two of relevance are the human Race and the Orc Race.
The Human Race
Images
Spoiler: image
The human body is similar but different to the body of a human in our world. If anything Our typical body types would be considered to be those of elves(Not seen in this Role-play). Most especially from those humans who live on the Border Kingdoms.
A typical human male is stronger boned, thicker skin.Their average height varies in the same manner as our humans do. The same applies for a typical female, though larger and boarder than the typical human female(Kick a earth mans ass any day) they are not so large that they look monstrous.
Compared to most races they have a below average life span with very few humans ever reaching eighty years old as by sixty most men and women are stuck by diseases we humans would fix on out own.
The Orc Race
Spoiler: image
Centuries of fighting Orcs constantly is one of the reasons the human physiology is so severe upon the borderlands as the culture.
Orcs are naturally huge, their average height ranging from about 5'9 to over fix feet for the more commanding orcs. The one Orc culture that spread to the human lands was the alienation and elimination of the weak(though in human culture they generally try make use of he weak in other manners)
Those who lack physical strength have no choice but to try their hardest to compensate with magical ability which in actual fact makes them quite strong. Nothing should be considered more alarming that a runt Orc who managed to reach maturity.
This is a very basic unit with the lowest rate of pay but the lowest expectations.
These men are not the strongest, they are not the fastest and have not shown themselves to be the strongest of fighters but by far these men are generally the most battle hardened soldiers of the entire core. These men make up the front lines of every single profession.
NB* Limited female State Guards(There are some but they never stay in the career position because of rampart sexism within the State Guards).
Skill sets for the State Guard: powerful sense of team based fighting, upfront fighting,
The Legionnaires
Spoiler: Legionnaires
Spoiler: image
The most powerful front liners of the Duke's personal armies within the Forged Peak. The training and fighting regimen of a Legionnaire is insane in comparison to those of the Ranger or the state guard. Physical presence and nitty gritty fighting ability is an important must for these people. Though they are trained to be better fighters than the state guard, their fighting experience is generally lower as they are sent out for more important missions. Their sense of superiority is generally a real element so thy're not the most liked of the all the soldiers, so it limits their team work, though not amongst themselves.
Skill sets of a state guard: Physical strength and size(there is no tiny state guard, or skinny state guard), higher pay by the Duke leads to them having the best accessories and the best weapons and armour. Their strength allows them to be skilled with heavy weapon classes.
NB No Female Legionaries, the selection process is done either by the Duke himself, his sons or his personal advisers and none have ever been picked.
The Ranger
Spoiler: Ranger
Spoiler: image
By far the most stealthy and and skilled fighters of the Empire of the suns. Their speed, their cunning and ability to meld into forest and city alike make them a very dangerous breed of fighter for the king.
Mixed as the rangers division is more open minded on who they hire because the selection process is based on series of tests which measure. Adaptation, bow use, cunning.
The Pay of a ranger is higher than that of a state guard but they are never used in direct line battles so basic tools for them tend to be different to that of a legionnaire. Eg A ranger will always pick a bow over a sword. But if they pick a sword they might pick a rapier since it's thinner, easier to stab with and you can run with it without feeling it dragging you down.
Skill sets for a Ranger: One on one killing abilities, more silent killing, highest level bowman ship, skilled in all types of bows, from long bows to the faster shooting and loading short bows.
Engineers
The Engineer
Spoiler: image
One of the few ranks that doesn't lead through the state guard ranks.
Most of the engineers are intellectuals, their keen minds. These people do get weapons training though its very limited, it's generally at the level higher than a mage. Engineers learned long enough that they were as much a target for assassination and concentrated attacks as a commander for their ability to fix. With the right tools an engineer can fix about anything. Engineers aren’t nearly as soft as many would think as the work they do is often fraught with its own danger, tough hands all round.
Engineers are a rare and special breed and anyone who has fit the rights to be considered and official engineer actually get paid great deals of money. Almost any amount they want so long as it's proved that it's being used in the name of them empire. So their tool lists are long and they have servants working with them.
This is also a ranking for a highly intelligent warrior.
Unlike the Engineer the Elemental Smithy as a magical upbringing though generally of a lower rank or standing than all of the other Engineering ranks.
The levels of physcial strength and 'toughness' to be a successful engineer are pretty much nonexsistant as Elemental engineers use their natural magical ability as an alternative to physical strength to build and repiar.
Using a magic ability similar that of the blood mage, they can embue thier own magical spirit onto a weapon, effectively enchanting it.
Mages
There's no sexism amonst the Mages as any mage, irespective of creed or sex is an absolute asset. They have their own schools and almost none of them start out as state gaurds.
Blood Mage.
Spoiler: Blood Mage
Spoiler: image
A blood mage is not only a powerful wizard but is in fact considered to be a powerful fuel source as they generally have a higher magical power than most. But as the name implies that power from blood, though that is not entirely accurate it is pulled from the blood and spirit. Because they pull power from them selves there's more of it to be taken, which makes them more powerful. They can also more easily and effectively distribute magical energies, or mana, to other mages and wizards. The comes at a huge cost to the mage, with some spells killing mages, leaving them weak, sick or leaving them vulnerable to illness and tumours.
Blood mage skill sets: Pull Mana from your body, Pull Mana from other bodies (either consensual or through murder), Higher mana stores and higher mana burn.
Blood Mage skill set: Quicker spell use, higher mana consumption, spells draw from the character's physical strength. Simpler, more straight forward spells.
Elemental Mage
Spoiler: Elemental Mage
Spoiler: image
Elemental Mages are easily the most physically pain free types of wizards there are as their magical base relies entirely on what is around them which they manipulate by joining up upon that element and manipulating it. As if they were controlling the said element's mind.
The true negative of any spell created by an elemental is that each and every spell even the smallest spell takes time. The faster the spell the higher the physical drawback.
Elemental Mages skill sets: They use what ever elements they have around them, fire, water, ETc. Their abilities work through movement and the use of symbols. So Think Avatar last air bend meets supernatural.
You set the the resource point within the element you need.
You draw power through that ruin and element.
Then you physically activate through moment. Touching, pointing ETC.
Necromancer
Spoiler: Necromancer
Spoiler: Img
Fully powered
These are mages who work with the spiritual and the spirit realm. Far and away from the other mages, the Necromancers are the most distrusted. Death being such a common occurrence with in the Forged Peak that the world beyond is generally not something delved into too deeply.
Necromancy does exactly that. It digs into elements which give the toughest legionnaire the shivers.
Considering the potential social reaction to being a Necromancer few people become necromancers but it's actually a a well paying field as most mourners has a knack of trying to commune with the dead.
The Necromancer has a twin effect of being able to commune with the dead and has the opposing effect of having to listen to the dead who occasionally demand to be heard. There's generally a great deal of static interference while a necromancer sifts through the undead realm, only skilled Necromancers can sift through with ease.
Necromancer skill set: Talk to those who have died recently, use the dead to see beyond their regular range of sight butt they have to request it in sight, they can adsorb power off the soul of the dead recently dead within the hour. The draw back of this ability is not physical but mental. The mental constitution of a Necromancer is far lower. (They spend most of their lives sifting through the voices in their heads)

Rules
1. Gms word is law. All powerful law.
2. Follow RPA Rules.
3. I am like God in this RP because based on the choices you make I will be orchestrating events like a god.
4. I'm expecting people who are capable posting about once a week. Preferably more but I'm not looking for a long distance RP.
5. What ever ending I choose is the ending the RP will have.
6. If ten days pass without you posting or PMing me without posting I will control your character in order to move the plot forwards.
7. It is recommended that you make more than one character from the start of the RP even if you don’t use that character until you need then, because your dying is quite likely fact.
8. More to come as I come up with them.
===============
Pure's notes
1. I didn't go into detail on the outer terrain because the characters are surrounded and stuck inside that building.
2. Remember there may seem to be a great deal of elements that have already been set down for you but really there's a huge amount of freedom as your choices and your actions within this RP will decide what happens in the end.
3. Mana burn is your average amount of mana consumption.
4. You determine Mana burn by yourself.
5. Use common sense on your mana Burn if you rate though you burn through a lot of mana, per spell then you cant be going around using dozens of spells. That would make no sense.
6. I didn't create a healer job because every made even the elemental smithy has some base knowledge of hiding. Just no healing slit throats and broken bones. Patch work is fine. (Think of it is as how people who go to university always need to have a language credit.)
If you’re looking for more players, don’t forget to make use of all the features that RPA has to offer. You can submit your game to the Roleplaying Games Directory here and if you post here, you can ask the Staff to advertise your roleplay in their signatures.

He's naturally bent over but he's physically able, physically stronger than he looks. His hair is concretely grey, his voice torn up and half gone from a life time of shouting orders. being an engineer his entire life he cares nothing for armour outside of fixing it, which he does not do
His skin is rouge textured and grey and dark like leather that's falling apart.
Personality:
He's a grumpy cantankerous old man. He's done things his way his entire life. His attitude generally of the sort where when he wants something from you he acts as though you're already slowing him down and you have to do what you can to make up for it. He's seen beautiful sun sets and he's held together the intestine of more than one friend. The sun sets were overrated and no one ever rates the horror of losing a friend low enough.

His ability to learn how to read and his ability to do what he wanted from a young age made him stand out amongst the brutes of the rest of his family, three brothers, three sisters. He was selected at the age thirteen to be an engineers apprentice and by fifteen he was one himself.
From then on his life became a wall of success stories, successful builds, successful on the field commands followed him.
But every battle came at a heavy, heavy loss.
He lost friends, family, children, wives.

@Dark
Accepted.
*If maybe you can add just a little more to your description that would be great too. I love that his broadsword break into two weapons it will be useful in this RP trust me as the format of battling will change often. I like the strong sense of equality and team work you say he has. I wonder what will change as things start to fall apart.
THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING THIS RP!
@Leoni
Consider it reserved. Shit man I'll consider two slots, just in case!
THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING THIS RP!
@Arial
Oh Wonderful Arial! That's lovely!
Two Rangers nice! I was hoping to have a couple archers on the gates.
I would also love to see how the way they fight turns when the power and functionality of their bows drops in closed quarters, which is what the vast majority of the RP will be in.
THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING THIS RP!
Note the current weapon list tab is kinda meaningless for now. But once the RP starts and steel clashed against steal, turning fine blades into butter knives in hours and large weapons become heavy, quiver run out of arrows what ever is there to be picked up will suddenly make a huge difference.
I love then number of soldiers are in this.
1 State Guard
2 Rangers
1 Engineer
I'll be making characters of my own and dragging as many of awesome people I post with sa I possibly can
