How to be a mentor

If you wish to be a mentor, simply create a thread in this forum section. Please include any specific areas you would like to mentor in to make it easier for members to find you. It is yours, and the approaching members choice whether or not they want to work with you in the thread or via PM.

How to find a mentor

Simply look through the threads posted in this forum. Once you have found one that interests you, post in their thread with your request for help and your preferred method of being mentored; be it via PM or by posting in the mentor thread.


On being a mentor

Be kind respectful and considerate - Remember, the person you are helping came to you. They are asking for your help. Taking a holier than thou attitude or being condescending to the person you are helping will serve no one in the end.

You are not the world’s greatest writer - So please do not act as such. Allow the person you are helping to adapt and grow within their own style and offer advice and criticism constructively


On being mentored

Be kind respectful and considerate - Remember, you came to this person for help and as such should remember that they are taking the time to help you. If you disagree with something they said, discuss it with them, but don’t argue or out and out tell them they are wrong.
