The new age of Technology.

Technology has far become advanced from what it was in the 21st century. To today's current, it's nearly classified as extraterrestrial.

With today's technology and innovation, the world now uses an alternative source of power and energy.

Things from robots, to computers, TVs, cars, spaceships. Everything is now powered by a revolutionary man-made element called Arcadium. A highly potent and stable element that carries ten times the power of what Nuclear (uranium and plutonium) power provides. But with this new energy, the creation of weapons of mass destruction is not far behind.

A single molecule of Arcadium can power a simple remote for 10 years.

This was all possible due to the genius minds of one collective unit from every corner of the world. That would be the Scientists, who call themselves Arcadaes, who rightly named this new element after themselves. Achieving this feat gained them immortality through history, and a lifetime award of riches.

Thanks to this new energy, the rate at which inventions would become successful had rose up to an astonishing 85%.

Two days after 4th of July, a new gaming console, the Hayabusa Vortex S500, was released globally. And with the advanced leap in technology, today's world is still ruled by one hobby, gaming. In the legacy, of the now primitive companies who went by Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo, the global empires who dominated the technological industry, new ones arose.

They proceeded to create better machines, ones that would fulfill a lifelong dream of gaming developers then, Virtual Reality.

Many attempts have been made in the past, but none were successful, until the year 2603. Just two years after the discovery and creation of Arcadium, the Virtual Reality Helmet was created. This cutting edge machine, would allow the user to go into a state of unconsciousness, and live a virtual life, as they would, but in a world of pure fantasy. Dragons, magic, flying in the skies, everything was possible, thanks to this simple, yet complex piece of head gear.

The barrier between real and make believe were no longer being differentiated, except for one aspect, pain.

The Hayabusa Vortex S500 included with it the state of the art, VR Helmet, which was a requirement with the console itself.

Five years have passed since the release of the Hayabusa Vortex S500, and one game rules all. A Virtual Reality MMORPG known as Blades of Arcadia, paying homage to the name of the Arcadium.

Spoiler: PLOT 

In Blades of Arcadia. The goal is simple, have fun. Because of natural curiosity, it is the goal of mankind to thirst for limitless knowledge and experience new pleasures.

This new VR MMO game has long been a global success. The age of casual gaming was dead, everything was now, Virtual Reality.

Blades of Arcadia was the first to be released as a VR game, and was the first to become an international hit in just a few hours.

Spoiler: BLADES OF ARCADIA 

Blades of Arcadia is a high-fantasy MMO RPG VR game.

Inside the game, a limitless amount of possibilities are at the player's reach. A vast sea of options for whatever the player wants. The game is nearly boundless, players could be anything they wanted, do anything they wanted and go anywhere they wanted. While certain places and areas had their own set of rules.

Blades of Arcadia is comprised of many areas. But one in particular, stands out. A central city, called the "Core" which serves as the game's main HUB to different areas, and worlds.

Beyond the Core is a new life. Kingdoms, forests, deserts, and dungeons await to be explored. Monsters lurk in the darkness, patiently for the opportunity to strike an unwary player, and riches wait for the brave to claim them.

Featured areas include the Tower of Infinity, a spiral tower structure that features ten floors of extremely difficult boss fights that is meant only for high level players.

Another area is the Colosseum, a vast rounded structure in which players would duel each other, and prove who is the strongest.

BoA features a party system that can carry a maximum of 6 people in normal party conditions. Up to 100 players in Raid mode.

With more party members, enemies get stronger, and drop better quality loot.

The currency in the game is your standard gold pieces. Where it is dropped by monsters, and given as a reward for finishing quests, and even found inside many treasures piles.

you have a good base premise but no actual plot to drive your story.
Perhaps if you don't want to go full SAO with this you can use the Isolated incident plot
this is the the premise of the dot hack story line where a few characters for mysterious reasons are trapped in the game.

An abarant program manifesting as a monster,
a massive server glitch
Or some crazy shit scheme of someone trying to get rich by holding players captive.

I have a set up for you as well, a party of six players have grouped to take on one of the recently released dungeons, and when they reach the end.... insert options.... and now we have a goal and conflict for this rp

Character Bio: Great in a raid, in the game he's known for being one of the strongest soloers, which earns him a lot of rumors, according to some people the reason he solos is he had joined a guild then killed them and took their stuff and wouldn't give it back. another rumor is that he doesn't want to bother protecting others because he is to self centered, truth is, he just wants to be in a group with his friends, and as he has none he solos. Near the beginning of the game when most people were only level 50 he took part in a major battle for a suit of Armor, his side won and split up the different pieces, among each other, out of all the people Crimson was the only one not to get killed after the war, or during the war, saying no one could use the armor yet so they always lost the pieces to their killer, the people on his side were killed over and over again to the point where they gave up and made new characters, Crimson went on a killing spree, reclaiming all the pieces of armor, by level 100 he could wear the suit, and he already had it so why not. Crimson is one of the few who has never died in game.
Player Bio: Robert lives in an cabin with five high school friends, he graduated high school with a 3.6 GPA. He became a writer and has a book out called "Andorias, The Dark Sorcerer" which was a good seller giving him a good amount of money to support him.

Player Bio: fairly normal and very quiet he tends to blend into the background whenever he can to avoid talking to people.

But I actually intended it to have no plot.

I just wanted to make an RP where things would proceed casually, and at everyone's own pace.

Reason why I don't wanna do a story-driven RP is because it sometimes moves too fast and people get left behind.

So I'm just gonna sit back and relax, and let people their thing. Perhaps if it goes on long enough, I'll add a story plot, but for the moment, it's just a game.

Character Bio: One of the longest players that have played BoA since its release. Zanrato is the Leader and founding member of the legendary Phantom 9 Guild. It is one of the smallest guilds, but also one of the top ranking guilds at a staggering #7.

Alongside his 8 guild members, Zanrato is one of the most well known players due to popularity, skill, and knowledge of the game.

All 9 members started out together, and have made their way to top in a matter of months. Overcoming difficult obstacles that stood in their way from event bosses, to rivalry guild wars.

Phantom 9 consists of Zanrato, Ayuzu(f), Jintei, Asana(f), Nemu(f), Murdoc, Haruka(f), Vex(f), Argus

During their time in BoA, Phantom 9 gained access to an exclusive event boss that would drop ultra-rare armor sets, for every member of the guild. In correlation and by pure coincidence, the name of the armor sets were "Phantom".

Player Bio: An avid gamer. He has a simple lifestyle - go to work, go home, and play BoA until he is tired. He has been a BoA player from the very beginning the game came out.

Leonardo was a senior in high school when BoA came out. He convinced his sister, Anna to play the game, as well as 7 of his other friends. They would form Phantom 9 and become elite players through time and notoriety.

Character Bio: Longshot is a mercenary who plays the game solo and only joins teams every once in a while when two conditions are met. 1. they pay him handsomly, 2. It's a mission that interests him. In the game Longshot can be found mastering his skill he is the best Archer in the game prides himself of destroying all other archers that try to rise through the ranks.

Player Bio: Adam is a 27 year old freelancer he has no future goals and spends his freetime playing the game. Adam used to dream of being a Game Designer but after hundreds of rejection letters he gave up and thats when he was introduced to the game. In the game he could be who he wanted he could get rid of anyone in his way and he was the best.
