Hi guys! I had an idea for an RP but no one has really done much SciFi on the other sites I was a a part of. Anyways.
Have any of ya'll seen (series) Firefly or (movie) Serenity? This is what my RP will be based on.
We are on a ship, My ship, the Ataraxia. My ship carries travelers, but we also like to loot empty or abandoned ships for items that we can sell. We've come across a pretty big ship. It's something like a cruise ship for outer space. And this is where the story takes off!
Spoiler: >Rules for the Roleplay<
-Only ship crew will have weapons. Either a rifle or a pistol (When travelers get on the plane, their weapons are removed to avoid any conflict.)
-Anyone can be a crew-member, but there can't be like four pilots. Just one of each please.
-Please, I do need travelers also! They're also very essential.
-If you're going to be a reaver, you can't have been on the Ataraxia, and you can't let the rest of the RP know until you attack. If you would like to be a reaver, please send me a PM so I can make sure you understand what a Reaver is.
-Everyone is a human! Please! Besides the Reavers of course.
-No god-modding, please.

I'm stuck between a passenger or a crew member so please excuse my hesitancy. Also since the series didn't have too long to expand upon the universe, I'm guessing we can make up stuff within reason further on in the story? (Like interesting places, organizations, or people).
Character sheet: This is going to be a slightly altered Blitz to fit the story. Cause you're a dork.
Name: Blitz Drachen.
Age: 23
Position: Crew.
Gender: Male.
General description: Blitz is an average tall male standing at "6'1 weighing in around 180, pure muscle. He would have strangely natural Rainbow colored locks. He wasn't a fan of shirts because of the loose feel some of them had so he always had something tightly clung to his torso.
Bio: Blitz would have been a Soldier in a different life, when he was younger he was torn away from his twin brother because Blitz was the elder son between the two twins. He was forced to submit to the whip, forced to have a gun in his hand and from the force that was placed on him all through his training, all through his war action his mind would have twisted into...A terrifying outlook on life. After the Military life he was hardly fit for society since he had hardly no experience in normal living. He was one of few survivors that tried to live normal life. After years he found it was impossible. Someone always wound up dead and he always had lashes to take, time to sit. Finally he found were most ex Military officers end up. A Mercenary department. Being ripped away form his only family left him cold. Being forced into military made him slightly close minded. Being a trained killer made his outlook on life terrible. Going from job to job he finally wound up as a crew member on board the Ataraxia. He started as a hired hand to escort the ship safely but after working there for maybe a year he had staid aboard. Kinda fond of the captain and how she ran her ship.
I don't know what to say about whether you should be a passenger or not, but, I'd definitely be a crew member. And yes, we can make things up, as long as it goes along with the series somewhat. ^^;
Position on Ship: Passenger (Official title is small-time merchant)
Appearance: Aidan is a below average height man with cropped dark auburn hair. He has rusty hazel eyes and a face two steps from ugly, and one above "unattractive". His nose is broken in more places than one, and his physique while not in the best of form, looks like it has had a history of relative fitness. For clothes, he often wears a grey semi-tucked dress shirt with rolled up sleeves, a black dress shirt vest, blue jeans, and brown work boots. His head is almost never without it's feathered hat, and his face is not without unshaven stubble.
Bio: Born in the distant border planets, Aidan never had the easy life but that hasn't stopped him from trying to achieve it. The boy learned early that hard work is good and all, but money can hire many willing to do the hard work for you. Leaving his family's farm Aidan went to the planets largest settlement/star-port and got himself a job unloading cargo from coming and going ships. Soon enough the now teenage Aidan somehow got himself the position of overseeing the smaller cargo shipments. In the same year Aidan was fired when the dock owner learned Aidan was stealing supplies for his own private dealings.
This cycle of being hired and fired continued until the start of the Unification war which dragged Aidan's small planet into the conflict. Although not the most courageous individual, Aidan was persuaded by the Independents' Propaganda to join their cause when he was of suitable age. The young man fought valiantly for the cause, sadly valiantly wasn't effectively, and so Aidan was given the position of quartermaster, a station he preferred as the Independents were more than willing to deal with shady suppliers if it meant they could get their bandages, bullets, and beans.
In the end the Independents were defeated, and through luck Aidan had survived. Using his contacts from the war Aidan was able to get into smuggling and black market trading, allowing him to hang up his brown coat and begin a new life of doing what he does best.
Presently Aidan has chartered the Ataraxia for more than enough deliveries and has come to rely on the ship and it's crew for the more dangerous (I.E:All) shipments and procurements, a man of his professions requires. In an odd turn of events, this shipment is rather low risk.
Possessions Upon Boarding: One .44 revolver (confiscated upon boarding), One footlocker of clothes and bathing supplies, One duffle bag of books, pencils, notebooks, and other bookkeeping supplies, One combination locked trunk, Pallet of crates labeled "Dry Goods", and three barrels of whiskey (One already tapped upon boarding)

Standing in at a rather short 5'8, Eric has a thin build and has short cropped black hair along with a pair of blue-gray eyes. He appears to be in rather good shape, though his face and clothes are usually stained with soot and grease from working on the innards of the ship Ataraxia. His eyes seem to spark with an innate curiosity and ingenious.
Name: Eric Steele Age: 21 Gender: Male
Bio:
The eccentric and upbeat engineer of the ship Ataraxia, Eric spent most of his life around ships and shipyards. The third child of a pair of shipwrights, Eric grasped the concepts of shipbuilding at an early age, as his parents taught him basic life skills through the use of mechanic guides and building books. From words, to math, to logical reasoning, Eric learned everything he knew through the use of ship constructs.
As Eric grew older, he found a job as a ship mechanic, where his innate knowledge allowed him to succeed at a young age. However, his curiosity seemed to get the better of him, and Eric often found himself at odds with the law, often for illegal modifications of ships and ship parts. Eventually fired from his job for his scandal with the law, Eric found himself stranded without money far away from home.
Luckily, Eric was found by Emiko Saitou, who offered him a job and position as the engineer of her ship, responsible for keeping the inner workings of the ship in order. Graciously accepting the job, Eric took the old Firefly model, and with a his ingeniousness, and a bit of illegal tech, turned it into a working junker, with a surprisingly powerful engine.
Gear:
Spoiler: Engineering Suit
Fully sealed to protect him from the hazards of the ship's reactor core, this sturdy suit is made of a highly resistant carbon-lead weave, and is strong as well as light. The material of its suit makes it resistant to energy weapons, and is lightly bulletproof. The suit also comes with a face mask-rebreather system to protect him from the hazards of the reactor.
Spoiler: Takashi APP-3
One of the most common firearms in the Galaxy, the Takashi APP-3 has a reputation of reliability and ease of use. Firing the big, powerful .45 HSC (hardened steel core) round, this pistol combines stopping power, with good accuracy for its price, and a hefty 21 round magazine. Capable of both semi auto and automatic fire, this pistol comes with both a laser light, and a flashlight built into it.
Spoiler: Omni-tool
Shamelessly ripped from the Mass Effect universe, the omni-tool is just what its name says. A universal tool. Essentially a super computer combined with a electronic toolkit, mounted on the forearm, this piece of equipment is vital to Eric's work.
Nothing there yet, but we're working on it!
Spoiler: Nice things from nice people!
