The Keys of Goldenheart

Your life is peaceful in the realm of Goldenheart. You are walking through the forest on a temperate spring morning, when you spot a glimmering light in a bush. Intrigued, you gravitate toward the bush, and find that the glimmer was the result of a golden box, lighting up as you walked by. Upon opening it, you find a key attached to a small note on a piece of parchment. It reads;

You are one of the Chosen Ones of Goldenheart.
Take this key with you to the Grand Oak in the center of the forest
And insert this key into the keyhole
If the box lit up as you walked by.

Do you accept the quest this tiny golden box will bring you?

Name: William Reed
Age: 14
Species: Quarter elf (Three quarters human)
Appearance: Will has golden brown hair that frames his rounded face in loose waves, and hides his slightly pointed ears. His large blue-green eyes are usually bright and slightly mischievous. Faint freckles run lightly across his small nose.
Will is a little on the short side, standing at 5'5", and has a slender build. He is usually seen wearing a plain white tunic, tattered brown shorts, and sandals.
Personality: Will has a colorful personality.
Although he does not consider himself to be very courageous, he has a good sense of righteousness and will be the first to stand up for others. His adventurous side can cause him to be impulsive, which has earned him the reputation of being foolish; however, he is actually quite clever. Will is extremely easy going and is hard to get him angry; his unique sense of humour tends to get on other's nerves, though.
Biography: He grew up a blacksmith's son, and therefore has a wide knowledge of crafting. What Will doesn't know is his family history... his mother is half-elven. His father, a regular human named Dan, met her when she escaped from the Moon clan, leaving her elven lover and baby son. She had no intention of falling in love, but from the moment they locked eyes they were entwined in each other's fate. Dan reminded her painfully of her former lover; they had much in common, from their controlled personality to their crafting skills. The mysterious women resembled Dan's late wife, who died just a year before. They had a son not long after.

Species: Lythari (Elf that can transform into a wolf)

Appearance: Long, silvery hair with two braids in the front on the right, golden eyes, ear piercings, and tattoos down the right side of his upper body. He wears a brown tunic, brown cloth pants, and brown sandals. Wyn stands at an intimidating 6' 2"

Background: Raised by both of his parents, who were also lythari, he learned how to hunt and hone his instincts and wolf abilities. They moved around from place to place, never staying in one place for too long. When Wyn grew up and separated from his parents, he learned why they always moved around. He was looked down upon in most places and by most societies because of his wolf side. He was forced to move around again, only stopping in town for supplies when needed.

Personality: Usually disconnected, he only really speaks when spoken to, or when his input is necessary. While this is true, if someone is kind to him, he will repay their kindness is full. He looks out for those he cares for, and values family above all else. He is very loyal, and will never betray people. He will stand up for what he believes in, no matter who or what it is he stands up against.

Could you perhaps give more information on where the plot might go? Will it be more like fighting or something else?

It will probably not be a lot of fighting, but maybe some. It's definitely going to be more plot/character driven than fighting driven.
If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask!

As for the plot, the characters (if they so choose to go to the oak tree as they are instructed) will meet with someone who will tell them about something that they must help with.
