The year is 1915 in the United States, New Austin.
The age of Cowboys and Indians is coming to an end, and the era of Science and Industrialization is beginning to dawn. Never the less, some people in the lesser revolutionized areas such as Armadillo still prefer the good old horseback-riding and gun-slinging life over the expansive and luxurious life involving cars, expansive jobs and the like.
This story revolves around Armadillo, a small town in the center of New Austin that is slowly being industrialized, but still very poor compared to rich cities like Blackwater in the east. But this grand industrialization is not the only aspect of this story. Outlaws and other scoundrels still roam the Wild West, and more importantly - a dangerous and mysterious outlaw by the name of Jack Smith. Although during the course of his reign over the world of outlaws, he has been given more famous titles such as 'Mad Jack', 'Jack the Ripper' or 'Rampage Jack'. He leads a total of three gangs, and each gang has its respective sub-leader.
The Crooked Clan, lead by the mischievous and psychotic Orson van de Kamp.
Barlowe's Gang, run by the reckless and destructive Edward "Eddy" Barlowe.
The Red Riders, accompanied by the sadistic and poetic Randolph Skinner.
While big and strong cities like Blackwater remain untouched by criminals like Jack Smith and his followers, small cities like Armadillo still hold great fear of the outlaws. Even the lawmen of Armadillo sometimes prefer to sit back and keep quiet instead of hunting the criminals down themselves. But when the odds are in their favour, they seem to be the ones to take most credit.
Now, imagine if you were in their place. Because you could be. You could be one of those lawmen, trying to make the most of their lives while still remaining alive. Or take a different road and become an outlaw instead, riding with one of Mad Jack's crews, or just take a whole different look on things and become the person you would have always wanted to be in a Wild West scenario.

Spoiler: Mad Jack
Name: Jack Smith Age: ??? Gender: Presumed Male Weapons: Sawed off Shotgun, Sniper Rifle, Butcher's Knife, Lasso, Revolver
Mad Jack is world famous for the macabre ways in which he kills people. He often calls it art, the way he hangs people by the neck or pierces them into walls or decapitates them. Whatever he does, he always makes sure he kills his targets in an unique way. He can single-handedly wield his Sawed off Shotgun, which is his favourite weapon.
The location of Smith's main hideout is unknown.
Spoiler: Orson van de Kamp
Name: Orson van de Kamp Age: 38 Gender: Male Weapons: Winchester Rifle, Knife, Revolver
Orson is a madman, originating from the Netherlands in Europe. He came to New Austin looking for treasure, but staying beneath the earth in mines for too long made him lose track of time and he went absolutely crazy and psychotic. He still dresses in the fancy way he always used to dress, but his clothes are very old and tattered. It is a common fact that Orson is a cannibal and a necrophiliac, and that he is sometimes nicknamed 'the Crooked Man' because of the way he walks. His clan was originally called the Kamp Clan, but the people have grown used to calling it the 'Crooked Clan' because it suited Van de Kamp's own nickname more.
Van de Kamp's main hideout is located somewhere near Tumbleweed.
Spoiler: Eddy Barlowe
Name: Edward Barlowe Age: 49 Gender: Male Weapons: Double-barrel Shotgun, dual revolvers, axe, fire bottles
Eddy Barlowe is a fat, uncivilized and aggressive man who has a lot of tantrums and kills whenever he pleases - regardless of who it is. He has been known for killing even his own men because he 'felt like it'. Encountering this madman will most likely result in your death, unless you find a clever way to outsmart his anger - Barlowe is not a very intelligent man and is often blinded by rage.
Barlowe's main hideout is located somewhere near Thieves' Landing.
Probably the most intelligent of Mad Jack's three 'companions', Skinner thinks highly of himself and is not as reckless or uncivilized as the other two gang leaders. The upper half of his torso - above his shoulders - is blood red and seems to be pure flesh, veins and muscle, but no one knows if it is just a mask or if it is actually his own skin. Skinner prefers the latter theory, as he claims to have survived death more than once. Skinner is a fan of poetry, literature and art, and often tries to find creative ways to get his tasks done and prefers to toy around with his prey instead of killing them like the other two would do. Just like the rest of his crew, he rides a red horse and almost never leaves his position on top of the horse. He is lesser known for killing, but more known for thievery and robbing.
Skinner's main hideout is located somewhere near Chuparosa.
Name: Oscar M. Diggs Age: 28 Gender: Male Side: Citizen Profession: Magician, Scientist, Swindler Hometown: Armadillo
Appearance:
Spoiler: Oscar
Personality: Oscar is charismatic, friendly, good with words and persuasive. But he really only cares for one person; and that is himself. He uses his charismatic aspects to his advantage by bribing or persuading others in his favor. He claims to be an excellent magician and scientist, but he has no title of any kind and his potions are concocted from piss, ink or just water with a fancy colour. He is good at being a magician, but it is nothing but deception and illusion still. As a magician, Oscar assumes the role of "Alfredo Piccolini" and puts up an Italian accent to sound more fancy and professional. Weapons: A revolver and a 'magic stick' Other: N/A
Spoiler: Character II
Name: Dastan Yéboah Age: 32 Gender: Male Side: Former Outlaw, now a Citizen Profession: None Hometown: Armadillo
Appearance:
Spoiler: Dastan
Personality: Dastan is kind-hearted and honorable, but at the same time very rough and does not easily make friends. He doesn't trust others very quickly, judging from the experiences he has had within New Austin. He was originally from Africa, but became a slave in Blackwater after they found him washed up on the shore after a huge thunderstorm. When he broke free, he became an outlaw and ran with one of Mad Jack's gangs, who gave him their freedom. But he had to kill innocents in order to keep himself alive and free, and when he couldn't bare doing it anymore, he surrendered to the law and went in prison for 15 years. After finally being given his freedom, he sought redemption and chose a new life where he would oppose the outlaws instead. But the law still has trouble trusting a 'black man', so he remains a lone ranger who fights and lives alone. Weapons: Blunderbuss, Revolver, Tomahawk, African Sword Other: N/A
Very cool idea, Craze! Love the old west theme. You probably already know all of this, but it won't hurt to leave a few links here anyway-
First, why not submit your thread for the Roleplay of the Week? Every week roleplays are featured in a site-wide message on the main homepage, and if yours is selected members would have access to it from the homepage- how nifty is that?
Second, if you need help with graphics for your RPotW submission, check out our Banner shop!-here there are plenty of talented people willing to help out.
Another cool way to get your game out is through Staff Siggies- when new RPs are posted here, we add them to our signatures so that all members can see.
Finally, why not read a little extra with the RPA Tribune?
Name: Lichii Diq
Age: 32
Gender: male
Side: Law
Profession: Bounty Hunter
Hometown: Tall Trees
Appearance: https://digital-art-gallery.com/picture/2016
Personality: Lichii is proud, fierce, and very untrusting, especially of the white man. He doesn't speak good English but does well enough to get by. He doesn't talk much anyway. Lichii is a loner with a great deal of pent up rage for the unjust, savage treatment of his people, most of whom had been forced to Oklahoma. Though it would seem likely that he would, Lichii has never become an outlaw despite his hatred for the U.S. government. Instead he tracks and hunts fugitives, never bringing one back alive.
Weapons: Colt .45 revolver, tomahawk, hunting knife.
Other:
Name: Marlowe Briggs
Age: 30
Gender: Male
Side: Some would call him an outlaw, but he, himself does not see this as so
Profession: Gun for hire
Hometown: Blackwater
Appearance:
Personality: Marlowe is a cold and professional man, preferring logic over emotion. He could be considered loyal, as long as he gets paid. He is amoral to the extreme, and will do anything to anyone as long as his price is met.
Weapons: FN Model 1903 (also called the 'high-powered pistol'), 1903 Springfield rifle, trench gun, hatchet, bowie knife.
Other: He maintains a wealthy apartment back in Blackwater. While many of his jobs could be considered 'illegal', he usually wears a bandana or something to disguise his identity. He is also a very quick draw, and an excellent shot, showing that he has had professional training from somewhere.

I would rather have a russet coated Captain who knows what he fights for and loves what he knows, than he who calls himself a gentleman and is but little else
-Oliver Cromwell
War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse.
-John Stuart Mill
There is no instance of a nation benefiting from prolonged warfare.
-Sun Tzu
Ten soldiers wisely led will beat a hundred without a head.
-Euripides
It seems like such a terrible shame that innocent civilians have to get hurt in wars, otherwise combat would be such a wonderfully healthy way to rid the human race of unneeded trash.
-Fred Woodworth
It is our duty still to endeavor to avoid war; but if it shall actually take place, no matter by whom brought on, we must defend ourselves. If our house be on fire, without inquiring whether it was fired from within or without, we must try to extinguish it.
-Thomas Jefferson
If a man dedicates his life to good deeds and the welfare of others, he will die unthanked and unremembered. If he exercises his genius bringing misery and death to billions, his name will echo down through the millennia for a hundred lifetimes. Infamy is always more preferable to ignominy.

A broad mind lacks focus.
A questioning servant is more dangerous than an ignorant heretic
A small mind is easily filled with faith.
A warrior's faith in his commander is his best armour and his strongest weapon.
Adamantium walls and plasteel bulkheads may seem formidable, but an unshakable faith in the Immortal Emperor of Man can overcome any barriers.
An Empty Mind Is A Loyal Mind
An open mind is like a fortress with its gate unbarred and unguarded.
Better crippled in body than corrupt in mind.
Consider the Predator. Let your soul be armoured with Faith, driven on the tracks of Obedience which overcome all obstacles, and armed with the three great guns of Zeal, Duty and Purity.
Facts are chains that bind perception and fetter truth. For a man can remake the world if he has a dream and no facts to cloud his mind.
Faith without deeds is worthless.
Happiness is a delusion of the weak
Forgiveness is a sign of weakness.
He who lives for nothing is nothing. He who dies for the Emperor is a hero.
If a man dies that another should live, that man's spirit shall eat at the Emperor's table
Innocence proves nothing
It is better to die for the Emperor than to live for yourself.
Leniency is a sign of weakness!
Mercy is a sign of weakness.
No man that died in the Emperor's service died in vain.
Nobody is innocent, there are merely varying levels of guilt.
Only in death does duty end.
Only the insane have strength enough to prosper. Only those who prosper may truly judge what is sane.
Pain is an illusion of the senses, despair an illusion of the mind
Purge those who are unclean.
Sometimes the good must perish so that the rest survive. The lot of courage is to be sacrificed upon the altar of battle.
Survival is no birthright, but a prize wrested from an uncaring galaxy by forgotten heroes.
The common man is like a worm in the gut of a corpse, trapped inside a prison of cold flesh, helpless and uncaring, unaware even of the inevitability of its own doom.
The Emperor will not judge you by your medals and diplomas but by your scars.
Though silver in your palms weighs light
Compared to death by blast and sword,
Do not shy the hopeless fight,
For endeavour is its own reward.
Her many years in the harsh and volatile frontier have been kind to Elsa, her face possesses a rough beauty, marred only by the two scars stretching from the corner of her mouth down to her collar, the result of a wolf attack. Her eyes are an azure blue and her hair is dirty blonde, her eyebrows are thin and expressive, doing most of the talking for her.
Personality: The bastard child of a Blackwater politician and a saloon whore, Elsa was thrown into an orphanage as quickly as possible and with much secrecy, her father could not risk the social stigma of being the sire to a whore's baby. From a young age Elsa was dysfunctional, growing up in a strict orphanage without the love that a child needs, and as a result she threw up protective barriers between herself and the other children, she is distant, aloof, and prone to bouts of incessant rage and episodes of unadulterated passion. Left with the choice of becoming a nun or a woman of ill repute, Elsa instead ran off to seek her own fortune, running into a gang of 'opportunists' who decided to adopt her.
Now a respected member of the Barlowe's gang, Elsa and her peers travel the plains dabbling in odd jobs and banditry, anything to stay alive in their harsh world, they do whatever they need to in order to get a job done, and are not above ruining innocent lives for their own gain.
Weapons:
Spoiler: Revolving Carbine
A unique weapon that turns a few heads, and in the hands of Elsa it often turns them inside out. It is a rifle that relies on the six round rotating chamber action of a revolver, forming a stylish and curious chimera of terrifying nature.
Spoiler: Remington Derringer
A tiny, double barrelled pistol that kicks hard and sends birds several miles away flying for cover, this is a defensive little number that is usually carried in the purse or stocking of out and about women in the Wild West. Elsa wields it because of its satisfying recoil and easily concealable size, rarely actually using it in the midst of a firefight other than as a last resort.
Spoiler: Kukri
An exotic weapon pried from the caches of foreign traders, Elsa greatly enjoys this weapon, frequently oiling the blade and threading horse hairs through the hilt. It is perfectly adept at hacking and slashing through flesh as well as underbrush and wood.
Other: Elsa was only twelve years old when she ran away from her orphanage and was captured by what was -at the time- the fledgling Barlowe's gang, when Barlowe himself talked of ransoming the girl off to the Blackwater authorities, Elsa voiced her concerns by head-butting him in the face and breaking his nose.
A beautiful partnership was formed.
