Executive Order 3066

There is no such thing as a life without conflict.

The idea of a harmonious world is a myth. Driven by greed and power, wars have raged on; ravaging nation after nation across the pages of history. The story is the same. The order is given and the soldiers are shipped off to the next bloody battle. For some this is nothing new; for others it is much harder to adapt to such a lifestyle. In some cases these difficulties might even prove to be fatal. In this case the order comes in the form of Executive Order 3066 from none other than the Fuhrer King Bradley himself.

But where did this war begin? While tensions have always been high due to cultural differences a relative peace had been achieved until the death of a small child in 1901. Deemed an "accident" by an Amestrian soldier this was the turning point for the once peaceful people of Ishval. The year is 1908. For seven years now the war has carried on with no end in sight. Although vastly outnumbered, the Ishvalan people have received the support of the southern Aerugons whom hope to see the country of Amestris weakened.

And so our scene shifts to Central City where the Fuhrer has introduced Executive Order 3066. The Ishvalan War of Extermination. In order to completely eradicate the Ishvalan forces, the dogs of the military, also known as the state alchemists have been order to wreak havoc in the east.

This is the story of the Ishval War. The stories of the soldiers who were just following orders. The stories of those forced to flee their homes. The stories of those caught in between. And perhaps even the story of those pulling all of the strings.

Rules

We all simply adore them, don't we? The ground rules of this roleplay are pretty basic or so I would like to think. No flamining, godmoding, autohitting, etc. Be respect, be courteous, and so on. Our story revolves around a war. There is going to be violence. That said, let's keep it TOS-friendly. Also while we're discussing our rating system lets take a moment to discuss love. I love love just about as much as anyone else here. Our characters are all adults and love is fine and dandy. This roleplay is no smut-fest however so once the clothes come off let's fade to black and employ a time skip.

Now lets get to technical requirements. This a long term literate roleplay. Please don't join and disappear forever. If you're going to be away, please let me know. We'll all work with you to the best of our ability. Now when it comes to your actual posts I'd like to see a minimum of two or three paragraphs. We all experience writer's block from time to but even then I prefer quality over quantity. Keep an eye on your spelling and grammar to the best of your ability.

This roleplay will be a mix of canon and original characters. Remember this tale occurs prior to the adventures of the Elric brothers. I'd like to see a profile for each and every character... including canons If playing a canon please do try to stay in character but be creative as well. While this roleplay will largely follow the manga/Brotherhood arc, I may be willing to allow the introduction of characters from the 2003 series.

Species/Race: Human

Appearance: Standing around 5'10" tall, and 165 lbs. James is a lean and tight muscular man, With buzz cut dark brown hair and hazel eyes. A small oval face with a curve at the chin and a little bit blocky near the forehead area, it is safe to say that he as the average human head shape. Lightly trimmed eye brows and ears that don't poke out the sides of his head nor hug it either. His top lip is small and narrow, while the bottom lip is slightly bigger. His nose has a simi-wide bridge, and is close to his face giving him a small nose. He wears his uniform in two ways, either with his sleeves down or rolled up. Usually, this is enough to tell people that know him what mood he is in. If his sleeves are down, he doesn't want to be messed with too much, if they are up, he is relaxed and laid back, but still can be cranky. He always wears a black undershirt with his uniforms, and if he isn't wearing his Alchemy gloves, they are clipped to the loops on his pants.

Personality: A bit hot headed, show-off-y, and has the ability to go off at the mouth to anyone around him. He is one that just doesn't care what others think or feel about anything. When given a order, he does it, but does it HIS way. James cuts corners whenever he wants, and due to this, the ones around him see him as lazy. Always wants to get the job done as quickly as possible, no matter what happens. If he follows his orders and something goes wrong, just as long as his orders were met, he doesn't care what happens. If given a order he doesn't want to do, he either argues about it to get out of doing it, or complains about it while he does it. He tries to be a ladies man but that hardly ever works for him.

Bio: Growing up in Creta, James came from a average home. Father worked construction and his mother was always home. He doesn't remember much until he was around Ten years of age, when he first started to get into trouble. Either picking fights with other kids, stealing random objects from stores, or vandalizing peoples homes or businesses, James was the ideal trouble maker. Soon, thanks to his trouble making, his parents could afford to pay for everything he did or destroyed, so they sent him to a orphanage so they would no longer be responsible for him and his actions. Resenting his parents for this, he grew up angry. Becoming violent with some and just flat out rude to others. Eventually, he made his way into Amestris, and some how ends up taking the exam to become a State Alchemist. Later on, he learns that he was drunk the whole time, got tattoos on his feet and strange gloves just before he took the exams. He past his exams but not by much, but he still pasted, gaining the name The Kinetic Alchemist in the process.

After gaining the rank of Major, thanks to being a State Alchemist, he was given several assignments. It wasn't until later that he began to slack when it came to his orders and soon began to take short-cuts when dealing with them, often either causing the death or injury of a few people to finish the job or failure on the assignment all together. Thanks to this, he was demoted to Captain instead of being stripped of his State Alchemist position due to his superiors seeing that there is still potential within James.

✖ My Skills:
Alchemical Specialty: Speed/Acceleration (with the use of his gloves and transmutation circles on his feet, he can increase the speed of either himself (by running) or objects in his hands boosting the kinetic potential of himself or the objects in his hands.) Example, he can flick, throw, or punch a rock or random a object with his hands and cause it to fly in the air at tremendous speed and lethality. He can also do the same with his feet. The size of the object can't be bigger then a cinderblock.

Technique for using Alchemy: Two fingerless gloves with a transmutation circle on them on his hands, and a single Transmutation Circle on the bottoms of his feet.

Abilities: Skilled with most fire-arms, and some hand to hand combat, knows how to use his alchemy abilities to gain the advantage in most any situation. Has a keen eye and good hearing.

Weaknesses: Intense hand to hand combat, prolonged battles, his lack of patients, temper, food, whiskey, and attractive women.

✖ Information: The reason why she’s called the Smile alchemist, for sake of irony, because she doesn’t like to smile. So they thought it would be a great joke, and that's how that came about.

Riniko wears a dark blue tail coat with short sleeves with decorative buttons on them She wears over the elbow long gloves for her alchemy. She wears a brownish colored skirt and black boots. She dyed her hair brown from it's original black and keeps it in a bun thing with two flower pins stuck in the top. She is 5 feet and 2 inches tall.

Personalitly: She is a Jerk to most people because she doesn’t know how to open up to people. She isn’t afraid to tell people what she thinks of them and will outright tell them what she thinks in most situations. When she does something, she wants to do it right, unless she is suspicious of the origin, which then she’ll get it done, but maybe not in the most efficient way. She does her business quietly and without saying much. Very bold with words and quiet and secretive with business and feelings.

Bio: Riniko originally came from Xing, but hated her family so much she left when she was 8 with an older friend. She ended up in Amestris. The truth about her alchemy skills is that she actually isn’t the best at it. She’s decent, but sometimes she doesn’t control it very well and could cause a disaster. Thankfully, the day she became a state alchemist, things went well for her, though she doesn’t use her alchemy with ease, always afraid that she’ll mess up.

✖ My Skills :
Alchemy skills: Riniko is a Combustion alchemist. She uses gloves with transmutation circles on them, this pulls the hydrogen out of the air and sometimes oxygen if needed and the carbon out of things depending on which is needed to finish the equation of the metal, nonmetal or hydrocarbon combustion. She uses the direction of her hands to make an explosion where she wants, though sometimes, she messes up and the explosions are too close for comfort.

Other skills: She is ok with hand to hand combat, as she had to take martial arts when she was a kid. She kind of polished up on those skills which left her flexible and ok at martial arts. She’s stealthy and lithe but not very strong in strength and has a high endurance.


✖ Meet the Team: She is loyal to people who gain her trust, she doesn’t much care for anyone unless she trusts them or they’re important to someone she trusts. So she's not loyal to the state or Ishval, and she hates her home country and never wants to go back.

I'm going out on a limb but I think mine would be the bigger jerk. In another FMA rp, I had a balance character that I used with this guy that kept him in check. It's going to be fun to see it played out
