The year is 2777, Humanity is now a space faring empire thanks to Russian scientists creating a wormhole generator in 2713. Having seen the generator's efficiency, corporations and the military ordered the design to be replicated and fitted on starships. In 2733 Humanity found an ally: The Skrata. An empire of avian aliens. In early 2735 an alliance is officially agreed upon by King Ku'throk and President Bishop. Unbeknownst Humanity, the Skrata are at war with a reptilian empire of slavers: The Vrika, who take little notice of humanity for several years. 2744: Humanity helps the Skrata repel an attack from Habdonia. The Vrika declare war on on the Alliance. 2745-2775: Planets are conquered and liberated by both sides, the war remains a stalemate. 2776: The war appears to be turning in the Alliance's favor. Alliance controlled Solitude is lost to an unknown enemy who's actions suggest that they've declared war on both the Alliance and the Vrika. January 2777: The Skrata war council proposes a cease-fire. Humanity and the Vrika refuse to come to a cease-fire, but agree to swap several million prisoners and slaves. Influential figures were able to free select people. Febuary 2777: The Alliance launches a second attack on Hercynia and conquers it. A human name for the unknown species catches on even to the Skrata and Vrika---Void.
Rules: All RPA rules apply. no god-modding. If anybody starts a fight OOC, do your d***edest to end it before I do. Get permission to control another player's character. Orbital bombardment of a planet WILL NOT affect any on-going ground battles, but can change the "ending scene" of one. If I haven't stated that you can't do something, It so happens that you can do it (So long as you ask physics for permission).
Spoiler: regarding you, the players
1. You can have as many characters as you can handle. But remember that you've got to outfit them and their armies. And your factions resources will be used by other players of said faction.
2. Characters can be killed, but only in extreme circumstances (If another character points a gun right at your character's head, and pulls the trigger, your character will not survive, simple as that. Otherwise, feel free to write so that your character can survive. If your character is all alone, however, it's entirely possible for your character to be captured by an overwhelming enemy force.
3. Characters are not gods. Things can be done to them, even if their owner doesn't want it to. They are more likely to survive than an NPC, but not able to do anything and everything. They have weaknesses, and your opponents will exploit this weakness, given the chance.

Spoiler: CultureVery religious. Anyone that earns a Skrata's trust has a creature that is loyal to the death. Though not a characteristically aggressive species, the Skrata do not take well to any kind of insult or offensive act (One known offensive Skrata gesture is to speak with their back turned. However, it is not an offensive gesture in all instances, and is being researced further). Relationships between species (Human and Skrata) are not unheard of, but aren't widely accepted between both Human and Skrata.
Spoiler: VrikaSpoiler: AppearanceAverage height: Male: 8'2", average weight: 310 lbs. Female: 7'9" average weight: 260 lbs. Head shape is like a cross between a snake and a dragon, earning them a large number of colorful names (courteousy of Humanity) for them, including but not limited to, gator, croc, snake, lizard, dragon (usually in reference to high rank Vrika). Long tails that often drag on the ground (soldiers' tails are kept off of the ground by armor when nessecary). Legs are digitigrade. Feet and hands similar to those of a Skrata (This includes claws). Scale colors most commonly documented as black, several shades of green and brown. Rust and albino scales have been documented. Eye colors vary greatly. Blood is copper in color.
Spoiler: CultureViolent, religious, intolerant. For thousands of years, back to when the Vrika killed using rocks and copper, they have fought for dominance. Over each other and the inhabitants of the galaxy. To this day, hundreds of clans (what exactly a clan is precisely has yet to be discovered) battle each other politcally for a stronger political position. Skratan slaves appear to be favored over Human slaves, and seem to appear less on the battlefield (statistics have been gathered by both Humanity and the Skrata). Showing fear in battle and having it reported severely harms the clan that the fearful soldier belongs to.
Spoiler: ObjectivesThe overall objective is to win the war. But things aren't always so easy. Here's how you're going to do it. If the attacking force completes the objective(s) necessary to take victory, they take the planet. If one faction's territory is reduced to three planets (including their home world), a siege can be held. To win the battle, the attacking force must complete all three objectives in one siege.
Attrition: Destroy opposing force until they surrender or are incapable of fighting anymore.
VIP: It's capture the flag, folks. two sub-gametypes, Rescue: One side holds the VIP, the other team's objective is to, not surprisingly, rescue the VIP. Heaven and Hell (Working title): Both teams have a VIP, rescue yours while keeping them from theirs.
Domination: Armies are split into three, the armies are to battle for control of the major locations of a planet.
Siege: All of the above.
Spoiler: Rules Governing Battles
1. A player may declare an attack simply by moving his/her forces into an enemy-controlled planet, whether by orbit or by landing forces on the ground. Moving stealth units into an atmosphere does not count as an attack unless hostile actions are taken. Doing stealth reconnaissance is not the same as attacking.
2. In an attack, each player may post only once, until all participates in the battle have had the opportunity to post. The GM may wait up to two days after the last post to post the "GM Post"
3. The GM post is where the GM declares the effects of each player's post. He or she will post casualties, and whether or not the actions that are described in each participate's post are successful or not. The format of the GM's post will be very clear, and concise, and timely. Players will not have to wait all week for a GM post.
4. A battle can be declared "finished" when the objective has been finished, or when one faction have declared a retreat, or all forces on the planet are dead or captured.
5. The most important rule is: Anything can happen in combat. If you do not ensure that you are very specific about what your soldiers do and don't do, then your opponent can take full advantage of that fact. (If you don't say that your guys get into trenches, then the opponent can say they run right over all of your men that are standing out in the open.)

Spoiler: Assault Bike descriptionThis is a bike that, while larger than the Cheeta, and lacking some of the maneuverability, is much better balanced and has actually some armor. Large, well kept parks dot the landscape (some of which are viewable from orbit) to provide plant and animal life a refuge.

Solitude: Derelict military base, weapons research/manufacturing, shipyards. Owning this world will allow players for the owning faction to create new weapons/vehicles. The islands don't seem to have been naturally formed, no matter how well they mimic it. Abandoned to the Void.

Sargoth: Derelict military base. (Troops left here by a player will keep their commander's skill set bonus, unless given to another commander.) New types of infantry units can be trained here. Atmoshpere is now non-existant, but some bases have generated artificial atmosphere around them. Born on Habdonia, Aklato grew bored in her adolescent years, and took up shooting to entertain herself. It wasn't difficult for her to learn the behaviors of the native pests and could shoot a small animal from atop a large grain silo. At 17 years of age the Vrika launched an assault. She took her rifle and climbed a silo. She shot at the officer, but she had a poor angle and the bullet ricocheted off of the officer's helmet. Instead of having her executed, the officer had her sent to Vergast to train her to fight for "her true masters". First encounter with a human led to bitterness toward the entire species. Also sparked trust in the Vrika.

If you're hearing this; it either fell out of my pocket and you didn't give a crap about my request on when specifically to listen to this, or I'm dead. I'm hoping on the former really. I was born on Earth in December of 2750. No one in school, at home, or even on the news really knew exactly when the war officially started between us and the Vrika, but I was told about what they do pretty fast. For weeks I didn't sleep well, fearing they'd come through my window at night for me alone. Just the way a kid thinks I guess, but when I turned seventeen I started thinking, there are guys out there dying and/or losing their freedom and being turned against us somehow. Risking that to keep everyone else alive and free. So I joined the marines as soon as I could. Heh, mom and dad were heartbroken and terrified because of it, not something I should be laughing about, huh? Well I made it through training, my first actual firefight was on a capital ship that was being boarded, took two shots to the leg, almost stopped me, but I picked up my buddy's LMG (He was face down in a puddle of drool and blood after taking a few shots, pulled through luckily, but he's no longer serving) and limped over to a crate and set up, didn't kill anything, but I helped the army guys onboard pull their heads out of their butts long enough to push those few gators back off the ship. And then down to Versia we went, on the way we got shot at, one guy puked in his helmet. (Lucky for me, as he was sitting across from me.) When we broke through the atmosphere I caught a glimpse of some kind of massive construction project, tons and tons of dirt getting moved. I was going to ask what they were going to build, but my CO was a bit of a buzzkill and started talking just before. When we touched down I had point, of course. Before he retired I asked the guy if he had it out for me. Never got an answer. Anyway, there was a Coyote out there, the LRV, not the wild dog. I was so happy when I got behind the wheel of that thing. It could handle almost everything I drove it over, I say almost because the mission was a little less smooth than we hoped, and grenades aren't good for lightly armored vehicles. I've got to cut this shorter than I wanted it to be, if I'm dead, get this back to my parents, if I'm not, give it back to me idiot(s).

He survived, but 90 percent of his body was destroyed, and he was in a coma.

Character Bio: Martellus Castor was the first born of a family of American nobles. He was a martial genius and a star athlete, excelling at shooting, and fencing, even being on the American Olympic team in the Pentathlon (shooting, swimming, fencing, equestrianism, and cross-country running), and won the gold medal. Twice.
Shooting, especially with a rifle, was one of his favorite hobbies, and was an avid Big-game hunter. He traveled all over earth and other alien worlds, hunting the largest and most dangerous animals, often all by himself. He would bag the animal, and mount its head in his mansion. It was on one of these hunts that he lost his arm. But, ever the optimist, he simply had his bionic arm be a high-caliber rifle.
When the call for soldiers came out, he at once enlisted, and was given an officer's commission. Within months he joined up with Michael (they were old college buddies), and Martellus has served under him ever since.

Vindico - latin, means "to avenge", "to punish" or "to protect"
This highly advanced Sniper rifle stretches out to a meter in length, and is roughly twenty kilograms in weight. It comes standard with a high magnification scope smart-linked by cable to the visor of the user, as well as a powerful silencer and a series of kinetic diffusion matrixes to absorb the massive recoil forces from the kilogram-sized rounds, as well as a liquid nitrogen coolant sheath around the barrel to prevent it from melting. The maximum range has not been tested, but most shots are made from between 1-5 miles, although even close range shooting is possible.
The weapon itself has 2 specific rounds:
Hellfire rounds: A round containing a volatile mix of highly-corrosive acids, which bursts on impact, capable of eating away flesh and even heavy body armor quickly and with extreme ease.
Shieldbreaker rounds: These rounds, created with a small EMP device embedded in them disrupt energy fields upon impact, while still being able to deal leathal damage. These are used for taking out shielded foes, or penetrating force shields/barriers.

Character Bio: Angdra, unlike most Skrata, was born on a farming planet known as Habondia. This planet was rather peaceful towards it inhabitants, but Angdra himself wasn’t really the best of children that were born here. He was sort of the odd one out of sorts, but he had continued on with his life. His abilities weren’t shown till his elementary days where he would take a liking to Atmospheric, Space, and Naval ships and other vehicles. However Angdra, as generic as they come, was a child to a military family that favored the Alliance over the Vrikan Empire. He was put into military training at a suitable Human teen age of 17 and from there he has been honing his skills throughout the times he is in the military. However at the age of 22 he left the military to return to his birth-world to appreciate the family that got his this far.
After 4 years of being with his family, the military had called his to inform his of a war that was breaking out amongst the Alliance and the Vrikan Empire. Thus was his cause for action. Kzran has greenish gray scales, piercing dark gray-orange eyes and he has a scar going across his left eye, making him blind in said eye. He is 271 cm, or 107 inches, tall. He weighs in at 152.4 kg, or about 336 lbs. He is very muscular.
Bio: Not much is known of Kzran's past, only that at some point during his life he recieved a very in depth course on tactics of both the Vrikan and other races. He is not afraid to use different tactics then what are normal for his race, and this has made him the target of many of his kinds hatred. He is a veteran of many wars and has fought in the Vrikan military since the age of 23.
