Nobody knows about the USFS, those few that find out about them… disappear for a short while.

The United Special Forces Service consists of the extraordinary. Extraordinary soldiers from Special Forces around the world that spit in the face of impossible. They wear no insignia upon their uniform, bear no mark of allegiance, they are only recognizable to the highest authority by the sinister Beige Beret’s they adorn.

USFS members have neither names nor allegiance to any one country. They clean up messes internationally, from sabotage, to extraction to simply sending important political figures to the grave.

One is not invited into the USFS. Privileged few are taken overnight and taken to the ▆▆▆▆▆▆▆ in ▆▆▆▆▆▆▆▆▆▆▆▆ where they are to endure months of endurance testing, Tactical Questioning, E & E simulation, tested in their mastery of both Artic and Jungle warfare and every form of possible PT training. Those that make it out, proving that they are made of the toughest mettle without suffering a mental breakdown or impairing injuries are rewarded with the prestigious Beige Beret.

Whether by land, by sea, by air, the USFS always rises to the challenge. They have their eyes in every nook and ears in every cranny. And trust me, they don't miss a heartbeat.

No matter where you are, death lurks around every corner. It consumes us, encompasses us. Grinning at you with an awful, cruel wide smile. All seek refuge from it, shunning away from its machiavellian smile. But the USFS are there, unseen, lurking in the shadows and grinning right back.

USFS is an RP that takes place in the present day and is largely focused of realism.

USFS is going to be somewhat of an experimental RP. This RP will not consist of just the one IC thread. I as well as most of you have witnessed a repetitive pattern over a long period of time with RP’s. They start off with plenty of hype and people are excited to post with great, well written content. As soon as one person gets bored and slows down their posting, this seems to cause somewhat of a knock on effect, sapping everyone’s enthusiasm, resulting in mediocre effort posts that degrade in quality gradually until the RP decides to go on holiday to the recycle bin.

Therefore I came up with the idea of this RP. This RP is going to be conducted in sections, or “Operations”. Operations will be short and sweet, short meaning a month or two each (varies determined on the rate of posting, time of year and enthusiasm displayed with each operation), this is in order to keep things intense, interesting, and to prevent people growing bored, uninterested and feeling like they are obligated to post, not because they want to. Each members individual characters (or two if they so wish) will be involved with every operation, all fulfilling their respective roles. As a result, new characters do not need to be implemented per operation, although you can do if you so wish. I would prefer it however, if you limited yourself to the use of one character per operation.

In a nutshell, each Operation will have its own IC, which is in itself a brand new RP with a new setting and new issues, however utilising the same characters for members of Y Platoon for each one.

Each operation will include maps of the area, so that members can understand the terrain and conditions that their character(s) will be dealing with.

When an operation concludes, discussions can be opened as to the next operation along with its objective and geographical location.

If this RP gains enough interest, I will apply for a Persistent World section in the forum, to accommodate for all the separate IC threads that we'll be having for each Operation.

Spoiler: Rules 

Most of these go without saying, however they must be stated nonetheless

1) Obey all RPA rules, naturally.

2) I am the GM of this RP obviously, I am open to criticism and advising, however I will make ultimate in terms of the direction of the RP Operations based on majority and feasibility. However to keep things flowing, I may have to make decisions that must be abided.

3) Please use 3rd person POV in the IC

4) No godmodding on a large scale or playing another person's character without their permission. Minor godmodding, may be acceptable in some circumstances E.G. A mortar operator and loader "X worked with electrifying speed, popping off HE round after HE round as Y continued to slam rounds into
his hands faultlessly."

However it is highly situational.

5) Romance between characters is not going to be a factor in this RP. If you must, keep it minimal, and not in threat to the main context of the operation

6) If you will be going inactive in the middle of an Operation, please tell me so that I can dispose of your character from the squad, unless you wish to write your characters death yourself. If you wish to quit the RP in-between Operations, please tell me asap so that I can try to have you replaced.

7) I would ask for a minimum of one paragraph per post. However with the Operations being so "short" and intense, i'd hope that you'd like to write more.

9) I'm open minded. If you have any unique ideas for your characters or for future Operations please PM me.

10) If you have a problem, PM me immediately. I prefer to tackle problems when they are molehills, not mountains.

Nickname: Toff

Reason behind Nickname : The majority of Royal Marine recruits hail from the north of England, with many also from Wales. Toff, hailing from London was a rarity to be going in as a regular, as most Londoners that applied for RMC's went in as officers. His accent was needled for being in such contrast to the majority of recruits whom had northern accents. As a result, he banterously earned the nickname Toff.

Personality: Toff understands what makes a leader. As he puts it “You’ve gotta have a bit of father in ya, and you’ve gotta have a bit of bastard in ya.” He is a seasoned, experienced Captain, having acted in as Ground Commander for many outposts over the years, defending key positions and leading Hunter patrols against insurgents in countries including Afghanistan, Liberia and Ghana. Toff is open eared to his men; he listens and considers plans of action formulated by men under his command. Toff’s drive for success is ruthless, and he will utilize any means possible to achieve it, whilst ensuring the safest possible options for his men

Bio:

Toff had a bad start in life. Dad was a manic-depressive plumber while his mother was an alcoholic who always had a bottle of whisky beside the baby monitor. He spent his teen years nicking milk floats, and in turn scrapping them for a bit of cash. When he was 15 he learned about the Royal Marines and their involvement in the Falklands Islands against the Argentinians. Mesmerized by their stunning performance and defiance of odds, he went in to training at 16. Over the next 8 years he ascended through the ranks. Upon reaching the rank of Lieutenant he was invited for SBS selection. He thrived on the physical challenge and mental challenge, earning his spot in the SBS as an Officer going on take part in hellish operations such as the Qala-I-Janghi Fort Uprising and Operation Alamo. He was also awarded the Military Cross for the capture of ▆▆▆▆▆▆▆▆▆▆ in North-Africa. He is renowned for making the impossible, possible, all with a grin on his face.

Toff starts each day with 200 press-ups, he is hyper fit and hugely capable. He has loved every damn second of his service in the military. Whilst there were always those whose struggle and those who strived, he conquered. If the other officers ran 30 miles in 8 hours, he'd do it in 7. No matter how low they could go he could go lower, no matter how high, hell he went higher. Toff is an impossible nut to crack.

His never-ending enthusiasm and lust for further experience raised the eyebrows of shrouded, secretive USFS officials, ultimately leading to his unconditional recruitment into the most efficient Special Forces response team in the world.

Nickname: Crowds

Reason behind nickname: That's insane, right? That cannot possibly be a thing, can it? A man poor in solo warfare and solo fights. But can lay up land, and trap groups of people into explosive and deadly traps. They call him Crowds, due to his strange quality to be able to trap any group of people, calmly without any sort of anxiety, hesitation or remorse.

Appearance:
The man had a steely eye focus about him. He was nerving to watch, as he stared you down like a wolf out for blood. His skin was pale, and his black hair cut in an undercut. He had almond shaped blue eyes, and he was laughably shorter than the rest of the male. Standing at 5'4", he still was quite the force to recon with as he wore an intimidating stare. You knew who would win this stare war, and it wasn't going to be you. Despite his short stocky, lean body, you'd be surprised to know he has muscles.

Personality:
Cunning. Resourceful. And short to get to the point [not a joke about his height]. He's not a very talkative man, he speaks when spoken to, and when necessary. Though he believes words are misleading and can be very misunderstood. He has seen people whose words got them killed because they led someone down the wrong path. Oddly enough this man probably possesses more aptitude and personality for a scientific mind and not a military one. But where life cuts you short [I swear not a joke about his height], you make do with what you have. Calculative. Intelligent. Takes his time to read the situation clearly. Some say a rock has more personality than he does. He tends to wear a rather monotone, deadpan expression, and replies in a flat, but polite manner. The only flaw this man has is probably his short temper, even then that quickly blows over [there is the word short again]. He listens to leaders and follows, he's is honest, and trustworthy. When relaxing he likes Bach, and even plays the piano himself. On duty, especially in warfare, he has nerves of steel. Never anxious. Never panicking. Never hesitant. And never once holds remorse for his enemies. He dislikes arrogance, pig heads, and disrespectful people.

Favourite Weapon: Weapon? Who needs a gun, when they have bombs? Anything will do as long as it goes boom. Sticky, from the air, maybe you like the classics and toss a grenade. Maybe some TNT. Who knows.

History:

We have come a long way from thinking that people loving people of the same gender is a mental disease. But we have not gone very far either. I was born in the Ukraine, but that is not where I lived. I lived in Moscow. Which is nice. Very modern, compared to the conservative politics involved in most of Russia's government and civilian values. Didn't matter though, what I am, was suppose to be and still continues to be a secret. It's not always good to talk, because talk can get you killed with the wrong type of person carrying a gun. I'm not fond of the military, but then again I'm not fond of most thinking people. Because most thinking people use words to mislead others.

I joined the military because it was probably the better place to be. Through strife and mundane. You just have to learn a few things. Who you are, doesn't matter, especially if who you are is against the majority of what they want you to be. This is to be taken anywhere. Consider this a piece of advice from me to you, to share. Take it anywhere you like America is not much different from Russia.

Who you love is your private business, unintentional joke, your private business once it becomes another man's business that man not be the most trusting man. Your business becomes his business becomes everyone elses' business. And those who disagree Hate Becomes their form of business to you. So keep your lips tight. Another piece of my collective advice that can be taken anywhere. No matter where you live or were born.

Back to Moscow. I grew up there. I live there. Because it's probably the safest place and I like it. We could be going somewhere much better in the future if those from Moscow and much more modern cities speak. If they aren't beat or killed before then.

My parents. Very conservative. Haven't spoken to them in a while.

My partner. That's confidential. We're not really allowed to speak about it. In the eyes of the public we're just friends. Even if it's friendlier, even if there are is some form of equality, we don't trust people enough. Sometimes I question myself. Sometimes I hate myself. If I could only fix myself. But that. That's not possible.

We've come a long way. But not long enough. I just keep to myself. You can't trust that someone may use spoken words against you.

As for my military experience. I have plenty of it. I don't do much though. I'm one of those types, who was in the military, but only got to where I am now by sitting on my ass doing nothing. Well compared to the guys with a barrel.

I've come to love bombs. If the military was a fat rich king, then bombs would be his treasure, his diamonds, and pearls. It's flashy. Sparkly. And kind of flamboyant.
