This Role Play is Rated M for Mature, it may feature gore, sexual situations, nudity, drug use, profanity, etc. The Witcher series as a whole features various amounts of everything that has been mentioned and is intended for adult audiences. At the same time we will still be following the rules of RPA, so while there is a song in The Witcher that consists mostly of the words "Fuck" and "Arse" we'll try to not go too overboard with the swearing, that goes the same for the nudity, sex, gore, etc.

While now the land is ruled by humans that sit upon thrones while dictating the lives of those under them upon The Continent long ago the land was wild and the people free. Far back over a thousand years into the past Gnomes were the only known people to inhabit the land. It was during their time that the Conjunction of Spheres occurred leaving various creatures behind which were considered not of this world. This was nearly one thousand five hundred years ago, a couple of hundred years after this the Elves first arrived on their ships. There was a short time of conflict before everything settled and it is unknown when the Dwarves and Halflings came. Cultures and beliefs mixed and it did not take long for various pantheons to form. Everything was relatively calm until the Humans first arrived in their ships. They did not seek to live beside the other species but wished to rule and dominate. Kings rose and with them came armies that killed any non-humans that would dare resist the rule of Kings and Queens. The Elves were hit the hardest and over the wars that came most of the species were wiped out leaving them on the brink of extinction. Kingdoms continued to rise and fall but one of the strongest forces to ever arise was the Empire of Nilfgaard. After the rise of Emperor Emhyr Deithwen Addan yn Carn aep Morvudd the Nilfgaardian Empire began various acts of aggression and rapid expansion. While once the Northern Kingdoms squabbled among themselves after the intervention of Nilfgaard in their affairs everything has changed. Two wars broke out between Nilfgaard in the North that resulted in countless deaths and various lands being taken under the banner of the Golden Sun. Currently it is considered a time of both peace and contempt yet still many look towards the Yaruga in dread that Nilfgaard will again cross it. King Henselt dabbles in war and politics in the Pontar Valley while Foltest fights a war against his lover in the hopes of regaining his children. At Loc Muinne mages and nobles of various backgrounds plan to gather to discuss a new lodge in the hopes of settling matters between those who wield magic and those who wear crowns. In the farmlands cows bleed from their udders as the Wild Hunt roams the land killing and taking those they please to, a two headed child is born while ghastly ships of death are spotted off the coasts. The omens of war have been gathering as if in the stormy clouds that ravage the lands during these trying times as if preparing the people for the white inferno which will leave no survivors if it goes unstopped.



This story will be taking place in the world of The Witcher during the year 1273. This Role Play will be based upon the canon of the books and games with the books taking precedence to the games. We will not be focusing upon the witcher known as Geralt of Rivia, instead it will be about new figures and their adventures. You'll get the chance to play as soldiers, witchers, mages, or even poets should you choose to. Your stories will be starting in the city of Brugge which is located in the kingdom of Brugge. This will also work in a similar fashion to how a typical table-top RPG will work in that actions will be attempted and I will judge their chance of success.

Brugge
There are two things named Brugge, a kingdom and a city. The city of Brugge is located North-East of Dillingen and to the South-East of Brokilion, the Yaruga is also very close to Brugge. While once it was ruled by Venzlav underneath king Foltest the old ruler Venzlav passed away in his sleep a few years back. After his death the prince Darhaus ascended to the thrown and was coronated within the same year. While normally this would be business as usual due to the recent wars with Nilfgaard many have become worried over Darhaus ruling. He has not yet experienced a true war but only minor skirmishes, as the omens grow greater dread has filled many villages in Brugge while the city still manages to get by. They do trade from time to time with Nilfgaard but recently things have been cut off to the South. Mercenaries have been passing through, often hired to deal with the nearby Scoia'tael that hide out in the forests and prey upon travelers. As well magical energy has been gathering in the area for an unknown reason, drowners have been spotted in the nearby waters, a manticore is loose in the skies, trolls gather in a quarry, and a hive of endregas have set up at an outpost. The people are in poor spirit with many calling for those who can bring good spirits. While those outside of the city tremble within it is another story, business is booming as Darhaus has reorganized the taxes while working with Dwarven banking guilds to help bring in new merchants and stores. There has even been construction going on just outside, possibly an addition is going in though raids from Scoia'tael have been making it difficult to get anything done. Within Brugge non-humans have been getting treated as poorly as ever, at the crossroads around Brugge Elf corpses hang from trees or burn in piles.

Background: (When it comes to having a background it is a good idea to not get too detailed to allow for gaps to be filled in when the story might need it. It can be something as simple as serving in the Kaedwen military, studying at the University of Oxenfurt, studying at the magical academy in Ban Ard, having been a bandit in the forests around Flotsam, training to be a Knight of the Flaming Rose, are some examples. That being said, he also tends to prefer not to burn bridges, meaning he has a strong belief that others should be treated with respect, until such a time when they cross him. He can be fairly trusting, though more often than not isn't because he is also fairly manipulative and knows others are just as prone to manipulating as he.

Appearance: Dezeroth is just about average in height. Though he weighs the average for a human, he still has a very bony-looking chest and wrists, caused by the fact that most of his weight is accumulated in his arms and legs from exercises with swords and acrobatics. He's pale-skinned, as most of his work remains done within the confines of walls, and his hair is a black mess that sprawls down his shoulders. His face isn't especially handsome or pretty, but fairly boyish. He has a pair of green eyes that tend to look at the world in a calculating sort of way.

History
Background: Dezeroth, having lived in Kovir, witnessed a great many Scholars entering the world. Having been an impoverished noble growing up, he saw it as an opportunity to grain some free tutoring if he were to speak with them on a regular basis--a way of keeping up with the other nobles. Learning how to charm the intellectuals, he sweet-talked his way through the crowd. One scholar in particular (Having previously been with one of the schools of sorcery), however, had chosen to charm him, having noted a great deal of magical potential in the boy, and so managed to train him as a Mage.
Dezeroth, however, soon became obsessed with magic. At the same time, he came to understand that the greatest magic wouldn't be found in a city, but in places long forgotten by man. Places he knew he'd have a hard time hiking to. So, with the last of his noble family's money, he hired a trainer to teach him the ways of the sword.
He got a little more instruction than just the sword. The man put his body through various rigors, training him in acrobatics and athletics for the simple task of swinging his sword correctly. At the end, however, he was adept and quite capable of fighting.

2 Perimeter - Creates a shell of force around him.

Personality: Anata follows her emotions. Her connection to magic and nature are not academic, but intimate and emotional, it is a bond. Her heart has always been drawn to snakes more than any other aspect of nature, sacred animals to her who are her familiars. Anata follows the will of nature, and of her Elven people. She is an ally of the Scoia'tael, and maternal to all Elves (full blooded or not). Base on how Humanity has treated her, she is very weary of Humans, they make her snakes hiss. She has a comfort in dark woods.

Using whatever she may, she will help her Elven people. Even if it means killing for the cause. Young she is still discovering much about herself and the larger world pasts the forests. She is always watchful of her sister.

Physical

Appearance: Anata has a glowing light skinned complexion and fertile, curvy form which suggests Human ancestry somewhere in her bloodline, her body more curvaceous than the average Elf woman. Following the genetics of her people, her face is a beauty: pouty lips, soft nose, well-shaped red brows and almond shaped eyes of crystalline blue. An enchanting feat about her beauty is her long large fiery red coils that spin all the way down to the back of her knees. This hair sparkles in all light, is light and fluffy and smells of Elven flowers. This hair conceals her pointed ears in its voluminous display.

Regardless of what she wears, spiraling up her body (from the ankles, over the torso to cover the necessities and out the arms) is magical armor made of snaking lines of rune covered rock. (See spells for more information)

History

Background: From youth Anata and her twin sister, Slesha have always been on the run from Humanity for fear of death. Knowing the truth of why her parents never returned after being taken away from their huts she quickly learned that the world is a dangerous place and kept close to her sister.

In the wilderness her innate connection to magic took shape. Snakes were drawn to her and while in her childhood and teen years she bonded with these creatures, felt through nature to practice her craft. However Slesha did not feel the things she did, hear the things she did, could not do the things she did. And while they were the same age, Anata had to be extremely protective of her sister as she was able to do more to defend them. Her bond with snakes and magic grew so potent that it even became a part of her form. A unique feat forged in the forest she has found solace in snake-kind.

But snakes know when to hide, and as Humans continued to push and push she had no choice but to take her sister and flee the forests that were their new home. Unknowing to her were the Blue Mountains, her history of Elven people non-existent. The Elves of the Blue Mountain took them in, and helped educate her, some finding her self discovered magic enticing or undisciplined. Either way as an Elf she was given a great deal of wisdom in life and in magic through others. Her sister was well received by all Elves.

And now she wished to play her part to help the Elven people. Using her magic she helps ensure there is peace in the blue mountains. She protects her sister who is now carrying multiple children and is soon to give birth. There is a great deal of hope stored in Slesha's pregnancy.

Rock Armor – Swirling up her body are roughly three to four inch wide spirals of rock that have runes etched into their surface. It snakes up her legs, moves up her loins and backside and swirls to cross her chest and flows out the arms. This unique form of magic has a few qualities:

Magic absorption – It will absorb harmful magic aimed at her to protect her. If the magic is too much, the armor will start chipping away off her body.

Regrowth - Damaged it will grow back in the same pattern with the use of her magic. Up to 20 seconds for its entirety. (2 seconds per 10% of its form)

Snake Pit – With Anata’s will the armor can break off and turn into 10 small venomous snakes (rattlesnake level of venom). They share a mental bond with her, doing as commanded. They may crawl back up her body and turn back to armor. For each snake killed or lost, 10% of the rock armor is lost until regrown.

Constrictor: The entire armor can turn into a large constrictor snake (think Indian Python) that can even crush and swallow humanoids whole. If it dies or is lost, all her amour is lost until regenerated. This snake is 30 feet long and weighs 520 pounds.

Personality: Charles is...well, he has noble bearing. As expected, is brash, prideful, arrogant, like anyone spit from the loins of nobility, but he has tempered that with the ability to tell when to be humble, when to bow and scrape, and when to stand tall with your nose pointing to the sky. He has a temper, but it's not like he flies off the handle. Although he could be accused of being very passionate, whether it is in the arms of a lover, or in a fencing match, he always does his best, and tries his hardest.

Appearance: Charles has golden-blonde hair, hazel eyes, and a winning smile. He has shapely cheekbones and a strong jaw, as well as a well-shaped chin. His hair is well-trimmed, and he sports a stylishly kept goatee. He is slightly broad-shouldered, and has defined muscle tone all over his sculpted athletic body. His hands are large, but not overly so, with manicured nails, and long, dexterous fingers that seem just as adept caressing he face of a beautiful woman as clasped around the grip of a sword. he had long, muscled legs, well-suited to the footwork of a fencer, and he is also larger than average in the maleness department.

History
Background: Charles was born to a minor noble in Vizima, the capitol of Temeria. His father was a champion fencer, and so, he taught his children his craft. Charles was the fourth-born son of the family, so, not much inheritance was given to him, although, since he was not expected to take over his father's place, he was given the freedom to learn. Starting from basically the day he could walk, his father had essentially put him in a ring and handed him a practice sword. He, along with his brothers, trained every day with various weapons, styles, and several masters. His eldest brother favored the ax and shield, the second chose the longsword, the third favored the rapier, and he favored the one-handed sword and buckler.

They trained daily, and Charles even had access to fencing treatises, penned by various masters from all throughout the northern kingdoms. By the time he was 10, his nanny was removed, and he was given a personal manservant. As was custom, this servant was about his age. His name was Elminster, who preferred to be called Ellie, a half elf of shorter and slightly rounder stature than Charles. They hit it off at once, and became great friends. He also taught Ellie what his father taught him, and they became training partners.

Over the years, He and Ellie grew close, very close. More than just friends. On their 18th birthday (they actually had the same birthday), they shared a bed for the first time. They were in love. But they knew they could not show it publicly. Charlie was High-born, and Ellie was low. And part elf. So, they hid their love, acting proper in public, but in private, they let it all go.

Months later, Charles and Elminster left together to set out for fame and fortune.

History
Background: Xaeve was born to a family of elves but they were soon taken from him. Around the age of five his parents were taken to the city center and were being punished for what some rebelling elves had done. Eventually they were publicly executed, and Xaeve would have faced the same fate if he hadn't run for his life. He didn't spend to long on his own though as he was taken in by the Witcher School of Spider. Xaeve was trained under Master Witcher Marek of Cidaris in the Kestrel Mountains between Redania and Kaedwen. It was there that he was infused with the magic and alchemy that would kill so many but render him a Witcher. He was raised alongside others but those from his class that survived all of their trials were Izolda of Vergen, Boyzdar of Flotsam, Sture of Chelibol, Guiscard of Aedd Gynvael, Voldemaras of Attre, and Ruedi of Gors Velen. While he is still considered a fresh Witcher he has been sent out into the world to prove himself and to allow the School of the Spider to become famous enough that it can start taking in more orphans to raise as Witchers.

Background: Michael's story is not one that is likely to be put in a history book. He was known to be a fierce fighter, almost taking delight in combat. As he grew older, he became disappointed with how little money he was making, and how little action he was seeing, being in the ass-end of nowhere. History
Background: Zerinian Scion was born to a Zerikanian mother and a elven father. The two had been on a expedition to kill a werewolf, even though at first they disliked each other. During their hunt they slowly started to realize that their dislike of each other was misplaced because of something that had happened years ago. The two consumatted a relationship and thats how Zeri was concieved. When they returned back to their town with news of the wearwolves demise and news of Zeri wanting to marry a elf the two were persecuted and almost killed. Retreating they both crossed the country retreating into the Dragon mountains where Zeri's grandfather lived in self exile. Zeri's grandfather accepted the elf and Zeri's mother with open arms however when Zeri was born his mother died and his father couldn't handle the pain and drank a poison so that he could die as well. Which left Zeri with his grandfather who was a Sorcerer. Ever since Zeri was raised learning all of his grandfathers knowledge and skills in magic, and when Zeri turned 16 his grandfather exited his exile and the two began to hunt creatures across the country taking jobs from anyone who had the coin to hire them. Now Zeri has branched of on his own but is heading to city of Brugge to consult with his grandfather about a job.

Spoiler: Traits 

Traits are accents to your character that help highlight who they are and what they are good at, or even what they aren't good. You get to create traits though I'll have to approve them, you can use traits to give yourself benefits like being able to carry more, running a bit faster, being more intimidating, being extra attractive, etc. Some traits will be limited to certain species, such as Mutant or Elf. Each character gets three traits, you can take a negative trait that hinders you in some way and take a fourth positive trait. This negative trait must actually hinder you, if you say they "Care too much" as a negative trait for example if I have a dragon kidnap a child you have to go fight the dragon end of story, that is designated in your negative trait. So be careful for even if you think you've written down a negative trait that skirts the limit I will find a way for it to impair you. If it doesn't hinder you at all then it isn't a negative trait.

Beautiful - You are a very attractive person with all of the benefits that come of that. People are more likely to find you attractive.
Dwarf Traits - Dwarves are hearty stout people, Dwarves are harder to knock over and are quite strong for their size. As well they can handle their alcohol better than most can.
Educated - You are extra smart, like very smart you know? You can have two extra knowledge skills.
Elf Traits - As an Elf you more easily can move among forests and can do so silently. You have natural skills with a bow and your magical affinity is improved if you have one.
Magical - You are capable of using magic.
Perceptive Eyes - Your eyes are more perceptive than the average bear's, you can pick up things visually more easily.
Witcher Traits - As a witcher you have improved low-light vision, incredible hearing, advanced smelling, above human reflexes, and improved strength. You heal more quickly and can withstand the toxins of motions. With that you are infertile and are nearly immune to diseases. Must be taken by witchers.

Spoiler: Negative Trait Examples 

Bad Knee - You have a weak knee, when it is struck it causes extra pain and anything involving using that knee becomes harder.
Easily Sickened - You are easily sickened, when witnessing something sickening you will be effected. Sickening things can be gore, human waste, etc.
Magical Allergies - You are allergic to magic, as such any magic used on you will be fatal without immediate medical assistance.
Persecuted by Humans - Must be taken by non-humans. You are perhaps an Elf, Dwarf, Mutant, or any form of non-human. In either case you are heavily persecuted by humans. One sight they might try to kill you, or perhaps they'll just try to rob you or do something else.
Ugly - You are ugly, you are not attractive and people are less likely to find you so. Maybe you are scarred or just have a strange looking face.
Wanted - You fucked up, or maybe you didn't and that's the problem. For whatever reason you are a wanted person and may have to deal with legal troubles or bounty hunters.

Unknown Territories:
Haakland - The people of Haakland are called Haaks, they have olive colored skin that can range from light to dark. Haaks rarely travel from their mountain ranges to the Northern Kingdoms and even fewer visit the Nilfgaardian Empire. Within the Haakland it is more common to see sabers and crossbows, they favor these weapons and often feature them on coats of arms. The Haaks have a reputation of being neutral in most matters and often they are viewed as being emotionless. However it is only common in their culture to publicly hide their feelings, as such they can seem closed off to the rest of the world.
Zangwebar - Zangwebarians are from Zangwebar which is across the seas. People from this land are very rare to see on The Continent. Zangwebarians have dark skin and commonly wear light clothing. Alcohol is heavily frowned upon in Zangwebar and many of its people refuse to drink even while visiting the Northern Kingdoms.
Zerrikanian - Zerrikanians are from Zerrikania, a place that is known for its strange creatures, dark skinned people, and tattooed warrior women. In their land there are elephants, giant spiders, deadly flies, and various sorts of deadly animals. In Zerrikania it is common to worship dragons, they hold great reverence for them. It is common for warriors of Zerrikania to use sabers, as well the land is known for its alchemists. Their names can be hard for Nordlings to pronounce, as such they shorten their names. For instance Zaevreanael could be shortened to Aevre or Ael. Alveaenerie(Vea) and Azar Javed are examples of Zerrikanian names.

Nordling:
Bremervoord - Bremervoord is a small princedom ruled by Agloval whom which married a mermaid. It is a fairly stable region economically without much in the way of a military. They mostly deal in fishing and the trade of pearls. This land is one of the most Westward points on the Continent, it is directly West of Cidaris. Budibog, Zelest, Dalia, Veverka, Mestvin, and Gaspard Drouhard are examples of Bremervoord names.
Cidaris - Cidaris is a small kingdom to the West of Temeria and East of Bremervoord. It is a simple land of mostly fisherman and farmers. This land is ruled by King Ethain, a man who likes to stay informed but prefers not to dabble in the affairs of others.
Temerian - Temeria is one of the most powerful kingdoms in the North, it is ruled by King Foltest. Within Temeria there has been a deal of strife lately after the actions of Jacques de Aldersberg, the former Grand Master of the Order of the Flaming Rose, as well as the rebellion led by the La Valettes. King Foltest's daughter Adda the White was born of an incestuous relationship between Foltest and his sister Adda of Temeria. It is rumored that Bussy and Anais, the children of Maria Luiza La Valette were not sired by the old Baron La Valette but rather King Foltest. There is a great split in the lands of whether or not they are bastards or future rulers. The La Valette land is found within Temeria but it is not the only point of interest, there is the magical academy on Thanedd Island, the capital city of Vizima, and the river Pontar to the North. Temerians are proud and will commonly be angered when called lilies which is a derogatory term for them based upon the silver lilies found on their heraldry. Commonly they are pink of pale in skin color and feature strong brows and prominent noses. Geralt of Rivia is considered a friend of King Foltest as is the sorceress Triss Merigold. During the wars against Nilfgaard the kingdom of Temeria was incredibly influential.
Aedirnian - Aedirn is a land that has been split up greatly, after the death of its king Demawend the land was thrown into turmoil. During the chaos the Pontar Valley worked towards gaining independence from Aedirn and has been on the verge of war with Kaedwen. Prince Stennis has become a contender for the throne but as of yet is not crowned. Aedern has a great deal of farmland though having lost the Pontar Valley has severely weakened the kingdom as a whole it still manages. Elves are rarely seen in the cities of Aedirn and it is no secret that most Aedirnians wish death on the pointy eared humanoids. Aedernians are often fair skinned.
Kaedweni - Kaedwen is the second largest kingdom on the Continent, it is known for its blistering cold and stocky hairy people. It is said by some that Kaedweni soldiers resemble tall Dwarves but there is no known relation there. Kaedweni do however like to curse a deal and are always looking to fight. They are ruled by King Henselt who is a strong and prideful ruler. Their capital is Ard Carraigh Kaer Morhen, the witcher stronghold, is also found in the outskirts of this land. The Kaedweni and Aedernians frequently skirmish and have a longstanding dislike for each other. Those of Kaedwen are typically tan.
Rivia and Lyria - Rivia and Lyria form a joint kingdom that is ruled by Meve. During the Second Nilfgaardian War this kingdom was conquered but thanks to the leadership of Meve and the brave rebels of this land they repelled the invaders with the aid of their allies. Geralt was formally knights by Meve making him a witcher and knight of Riva. Some note that the people of this land have an incredibly deep hatred of Nilfgaard only matched by those who have been conquered and massacred by the black armored invaders.
Redanian - Redania is one of the most powerful kingdoms in the North, it is ruled by King Radovid V, also known as Radovid the Stern. In Redenia the laws are harsh yet the people flourish due to their powerful economy. It is also within Radovid's land that the Academy of Oxenfurt resides in, Novigrad which is one of the largest cities in the North is also found within Redania. Redanians are a varied bunch but are frequently very knowledgeable of laws. Radovid also has control of the Redanian Secret Service which helps to keep both his enemies and people in check.
Sodden - The people of Sudden for a time had to deal with their land being split by the Nilfgaardians, however Sodden was freed during the Second Nilfgaardian War and became a part of Temeria. Sodden is well known for its mead made by beekeepers.
Verden - Verden is a small kingdom to the Southwest of Temeria, it is ruled by king Kistrin. This land was torn apart during the Second Nilfgaardian War. For a time it was ruled by Nilfgaard but during the Second Nilfgaardian War Kistrin and many of the soldiers of Verden managed to regain the kingdom's freedom. Gabriel, Eliza, Freixenet are examples of Verdenian names.

Kovir and Poviss:
Kovir - Kovir is a kingdom to the far North that has often been looked down upon by other Nordlings. However Kovir has proven itself an economic power with much of the Continent's metals coming from Kovir and Poviss. Many considered Koviri to be lacking intelligence due to their strange dialect, yet many scholars have fled to Kovir over the years providing them with an educational advantage. With the fear of Nilfgaard to the South plenty of people have been heading North to evade a future war, because of this those found in Kovir are highly varied.
Poviss - Poviss is a land far to the North that is a part of the kingdom of Kovir and Poviss. The people of Poviss often come off as gruff with tan skin and thick features. Poviss is very mountainous and has been known to house many outlaws yet the land stays unified still. It is also known for its scientists that have a deal of interest in machinery. While nothing of major influence has been created in Poviss yet it is only a matter of time before they create a machine that may change the world.
Talgar - Talgar is a very cold region to the North that is mountainous. Many who live here live sedintary lives but rely heavily on trade for survival for farming in this region is difficult. The people of Talgar are often hairy and large. They are ruled by Bernika of Talgar.
Narok - Narok is a land that is considered a fiefdom of Kovir, it does have its own princess. This land is made up of a variety of people displaced by war. They commonly travel via the Tiona river and have many sailors and fishermen.

Spoiler: A Skellige shipyard. 

Skellige - The Skellige people are islanders, they are known for being sturdy and strong people. They can be found on the islands Ard Skellig, An Skellig, Faroe, Hindarsfjall, Spikeroog, and Undvik. Rather than dealing in normal mages they appear to favor druids. Skellige have a warrior culture and tend to drink a lot, they wear furs often and tend to wear armor when traveling. Those of Skellige are taller on average than most Nordlings. Some remark that the Skellige warriors are like bears though they are often pale. Here are some examples of Skellige names: Crach an Craite, Eist Tuirseach, Mousesack.

Hengfors League:
Caingorn - Caingorn is a part of the Henfors League which is a minor kingdom in the North. Currently this land is ruled by king Niedamir with its symbol being that of a silver griffin. Throughout the Nilfgaardian Wars the people of Caingorn remained neutral. While remaining neutral the rulers of this land are intertwined with Kaedwen and king Henselt. Caingorn is the most influential member of Hengfors League to the point that it is sometimes called Niedamir's League.

Nilfgaardian Subjugated:
Nazair - The people of Nazair were subjugated by Nilfgaard during the first war. Nazair is located South of the AmellMountains, it was noted for its heavy resistance against Nilfgaard until its eventual defeat. Those of Nazair are incredibly willful and have a great distaste for authority and rulers after their issues with Nilfgaard. The people of Nazair are often split between loyalty to the North or Nilfgaard.
Cintran -
Attre - Attre is a province of the Nilfgaardian Empire, it lays to the west along a shore and has a very arid climate. Those of Attre typically hate the Nilfgaardians yet they are still dominated by them like their old ally Cintra. The people of this land have been thrust into a conflict and feel partially abandoned by the rest of the Northern Kingdoms.

Half-Elf - Half-Elves are hybrids created when an Elf and Human breed together or when two Half-Elves have a child. They do not have their own culture and are rarely accepted amongst Humans or Elves. Rarely do they survive into adulthood since most are killed as infants. They have attributes of both Humans and Elves but diluted, with pointed ears and slightly thin frames. Civril, Gardic, Riannon, Shirru, Vratimir, are examples of Half-Elf names.

Quadroon - Quadroons are hybrids that are one quarter Elf and three quarter Human. While Half-Elves are commonly hated by both Humans and Elves Quadroons are commonly accepted by Humans. They barely have any Elder Blood in them and as such have almost no features associated with Elves. Sometimes their ears are slightly pointed or their features slightly attractive and slim. Yennefer, Goidemar, Amavet, and Vestibor are examples of Quadroon names.

Spoiler: Iorveth, Elven terrorist and Scoia'tael Commander 

Elf - Elves are a humanoid race within the world that are similar to humans. They are one of the elder races and predate humanity's existence on the continent. However they are not natives to the land and instead arrived many centuries ago. The elves are slender and beautiful as a whole, they have pointed ears, sharp features, and no canine teeth. It is possible for them to breed with humans but the products of such couplings are often hated by humans and elves. It is common for them to face persecution at the hands of humans, there is a long and bloody history between the humans and elves. It is a common belief among the elves that they were created by a greater power while humans are believed to have evolved. Because of this the elves often feel that they are superior to humans. In the elder speech they are called Aen Seidhe. They are one of the oldest races but are predated by gnomes. Elves live incredibly long lives but are only fertile in their youth. It is common for them to be arrogant and proud of their own kind with a hatred of humans. However elves tend to keep their beliefs regarding other matters to themselves. They're a people focused on philosophy and art, though many views and pieces of artwork have been lost to war. Dana Méadbh is the mother goddess of the elves. Enid an Gleanna, Francesca Findabair, Insengrim Faoiltiarna, Aelirenn, Ida Emean aep Sivney, Iorveth, Yaevinn, Errdil, Galarr, and Toruviel are examples of Elven names.
Blue Mountain - There are those who did not descend to join their brethren in the Valley of Flowers, these elves instead stayed within the ranges of the Blue Mountains. Elves of the Blue Mountains typically want to stay away from the world, they don't want to interact with humans in any way and would rather try to hold out in the mountains for as long as possible. Underneath it all they are possibly the most hateful of all Elves, many of them have first hand seen the greatest of atrocities against the Elves by humans. While avoiding conflict they are not peaceful, it is rumored that one day the hatred in their guts will rot them from the inside prompting them to descend from the mountain tops and out of hiding to make a last ditch effort to kill as many humans as possible.
Dol Blathannan-Once an independent kingdom belonging to the Elves after they aided Nilfgaard, Dol Blathannan is currently sworn to Aedern. Young elves are incredibly uncommon here as only a handful live within Dol Blathanna. It is ruled by Enid an Gleanna whom which reports to Prince Stennis of Aedern after the death of Demawend. Like most Elves Dol Blathannans are proud yet often those who live here are less violent than most Elves. They have a home, they have the safety of walls and a single place to live.
Humanized - Humanized Elves typically have been trying to fit in within a human culture or were raised in it. Normally they are heavily persecuted but humanized Elves are more accepted among humans.
Independent - Independent Elves are mostly young and do not find themselves tied to any one place but instead often identify only with other Elves. Commonly they side with the Scoia'tael or even join them when they can. Independent Elves are commonly hateful of humans and wish to get vengeance for what happened to their people.

Gnome - Gnomes are one of the elder races of the land are in fact the oldest known people to inhabit the continent. For all intents and purposes they may very well be the actual natives of what the humans now call their home. The gnomes have some strange attributes, such as that they have heightened senses. Their eyes are very keen, their sense of smell great, and even their hearing beyond that of humans. As well they are quite fast and agile, though are smaller than even halflings. On average they stand at three and a half feet, around half a foot shorter than most halflings. Gnomes make for great artisans due to their perceptive eyes being capable of taking in more information than the eyes of most. The easiest way to tell a gnome from a halfling or dwarf is via their long noses.

Spoiler: A Dwarf charging into battle. 

Dwarf - Dwarves are one of the elder races of the land, while once widespread they are now fewer in number. While they often face persecution by humans the dwarves have more easily mixed into human society than elves. The dwarves are sturdy and naturally muscular, as well they can be quite hairy. Commonly they grow facial hair and speak in very vulgar manners. It is hard to knock over a dwarf, as well they're a very stubborn people. On average they stand at four feet in height and have beards. Dwarves are highly protective of their women and fear others "stealing them away." They have an easier time getting along with their fellows, dwarves are quite capable of getting along with both humans and elves.
Mahakam - The Dwarves of Mahakam are considered independent for all intents and purposes. Mahakam is a part of Temeria through rule but they do not adhere to this by any means and the Temerians would not dare attempt to enforce their laws in Mahakam. Instead it is mostly ruled by guilds and the Dwarf Brouver Hoog. There is a great deal of mining that takes place in Mahakam and most who live there are either laborers or merchants of some sort. It is a large trade city that produces some of the best weaponry in the land. Those who live here usually become fast talkers.

Spoiler: Geralt of Rivia, a mutant called a Witcher doing his job. 

Mutant - Mutants are beings that have been altered in some way to be different drastically from what is the norm of their species. Sometimes children are born with an extra finger, magical creatures can mutate to gain new features or change their size. The most well known of mutants though are the witchers. Witchers are humans that are mutated at a young age to increase their prowess in combat and hunting, they are created for the purpose of killing monsters. There have only ever been human witchers, it is not impossible for another species to become one. However even among human witchers are heavily persecuted, sometimes to the point that they are attacked on sight but rarely killed through such means. If an Elf were to become a witcher it is no doubt humans would wish to kill them on sight and Elves likely would as well since they would be a wasted opportunity. One must become a witcher when they are young and young Elves may still have children, but when one becomes a witcher the magic, mutations, and chemicals render the witcher infertile. All witchers as such cannot sire children thus explaining why they take in orphans to be raised as witchers, though most of the children die during their trials. While many of the schools have been falling apart a new school of witchers has been set up in secret with the members of the School of the Spider finally coming out into the world to hunt monsters. To aid in recruitment they've started taking in any orphans they can get making it so that witchers are no longer restricted to being human men. However, the chemicals and mutations will still have powerful effects upon those turned into witchers. Witchers are nearly immune to disease, they gain cat like eyes as well as control over them allowing a witcher to see great distances or in low-light. Their reflexes and strength are enhanced as well a witcher's body heals quickly compared to any of the non-magical beings. Hearing and smell are improved to the point of resembling an animal, a witcher can hear arrows in the air or smell certain scents for the sake of tracking them. A witcher also carries a medallion of their school which resonates when magic or magical beings are in their presence. Each witcher wields two weapons, a silver and steel one with the steel weapon being made from the ore of a meteorite. The silver sword is for use against magical creatures while the steel one is for anything non-magical, witchers kill both types of monsters. A girl who is subjected to the mutagens and chemicals of a witcher will grow up looking traditionally masculine with a flat chest giving them the appearance of a traditional man. While the toxins present in potions can be deadly for anyone to drink a witcher can handle them to a point allowing them to use potions to improve themselves in various ways. Witchers also all can use magic in the form of signs which are made with the hands. The witchers of the school of the spider are still young, as such if playing as one your character may only be between the ages of eighteen and twenty.

Halflings - Halflings are a race of non-humans that stand between two and four feet tall with large feet. Their feet are topped with hair, and they are capable of going without shoes. The halflings are very agile and dexterous, they're more flexible than others and have excellent balance. Normally they prefer to wear bright clothes but are not always able to. Halflings can easily walk over harsh surfaces, they can easily dodge, dive, and flip. As well they find climbing to be incredibly easy, though at the same time they are not as physically strong as humans.

Spoiler: Greed can be the root of a lot of evil and death, frankly. 

In The Witcher there are many currencies that have different values and exchange rates. I'll be simplifying the exchange rate slightly but for the sake of accuracy we will be using coins appropriate for the areas. The basis for the currency is the Mark Silver which is a general currency. Coins can also be substituted with precious materials and gems. One can take payment in a precious item then sell it somewhere else where it may be worth more or less.

Crown - The coin used in in Novigrad, Redania, Brugge, and Cidaris. It is quite stable and works in broad areas. 67 crowns are worth a mark silver.
Ducat - The ducat is the currency of Cintra and Kaedwen, while Cintra is no longer its own kingdom thanks to Kaedwen it is still a fairly strong coin. 75 ducats are worth a mark silver.
Floren - The floren is the currency of Nilfgaard, it is very powerful and may be accepted broadly by merchants but may also be shown as a sign of loyalty to Nilfgaard. 60 florens are worth a mark silver.
Lintar - The lintar is the currency used in Hangfords League. It is fairly strong but not as widely accepted. 70 lintars are worth one mark silver.
Noble - The noble is the currency of Gors Velen, a powerful city. While not always accepted outside of Gors Velen it is still often taken by travelers and nobles. 73 nobles are worth a mark silver.
Oren -The oren is the currency of Temeria. In recent years it has grown weaker due to the wars with NIlfgaard and the rebellion going on within Temeria. 80 orens are worth a mark silver.
Thaler - The thaler is the currency of Cidaris. It is not very strong but is stable enough. 77 thalers are worth a mark silver.

Crinfrid Oil - 100 Crowns - Crinfrid oil is an oil that when coated on a weapon causes increased pain in whoever is struck.
Flybane - 70 Crowns - Flybane is a poison made from mushrooms that causes agitation, tremors, and eventually paralysis. This does not stop breathing and will pass in time.
Hanged Man's Oil - 100 Crowns - Increases damage done to humanoids.
Insectoid Oil - 60 Crowns - Increases damage done to insectoids.
Magepain - 700 Crowns - Magepain is an incredibly deadly poison that when in contact with the body rapidly spreads to all of one's cells until they expire. It causes an astonishing amount of pain and is only known to be cured by magic, it is incredibly dangerous to use and owning a vial is enough to call for an execution. One of the only ways to survive magepain if it gets into a limb or extremity is to cut it off and hope it didn't spread fast enough.
Monkshood - 90 Crowns - Monkshood is a poison that in small doses helps to reduce pain but in larger doses will slow and eventually stop breathing.
Necrophage Oil - 80 Crowns - Increases damage done to necrophages.

Bindweed - 60 Crowns - Bindweed is a potion that hardens the skin and thickens the blood while improving resistance to acid. It is fairly toxic and can be dangerous to combine with certain potions.
Black Blood - 70 Crowns - Black Blood is a potion that involves making the drinker's blood toxic to creatures that would drink it. This is mostly used against necrophages and vampires, but is dangerous even to the drinker whom which will feel weak and with a moderate dosage can kill their self. Witchers are the only ones capable of surviving drinking this potion as it has an extremely high level of toxicity.
Blizzard - 100 Crowns - Blizzard is a potion that increases the reflexes of the drinker. It allows them to dodge, parry, or catch objects more easily. It is fairly toxic.
Cat - 50 Crowns - Cat is a potion that allows a witcher to see in complete darkness. While witchers can adjust their eyes to more easily see in low-light cat allows for perfect vision in darkness, though it makes it very difficult to see in well lit areas or during the day. It is barely toxic.
De Vries' Extract - 100 Crowns - This potion gives a witcher vision in perfect darkness, it also allows them to see creatures that otherwise are invisible. While under the effect of De Vries' Extract a witcher can also see through thin walls and see the circulatory system of other creatures. It is fairly toxic.
Full Moon - 120 Crowns - Full Moon is a powerful potion that witchers use when they know they are going to face a fearsome foe. It vastly increases their constitution and makes them more capable of withstanding punishment, it also aids in resisting loss of consciousness. While it has a lot of useful effects it is highly toxic.
Golden Oriole - 80 Crowns - Golden Oriole is a very useful potion that improve resistance to poisons and helps to remove any poisons already in the body. However, it is still toxic and will not remove the toxicity of potions. This potion is fairly toxic.
Kiss - 70 Crowns - Kiss is a potion that increases clotting, it lowers the risk of bleeding out and will also stop or at least lessen any current bleeding. Kiss is fairly toxic.
Maribor Forest - 70 Crowns - Maribor Forest is a potion that increases a person's stamina, after drinking it they can perform tasks for longer periods of time without rest. It is fairly toxic.
Petri's Philter - 130 Crowns - Petri's Philter is an incredibly powerful potion that increases the potency of all magic. However, it is also incredibly toxic to the point that it is very dangerous for even a witcher to drink it making it deadly to any non-witcher to consume it.
Shrike - 100 Crowns - Shrike is a vile potion that causes the drinker's blood to inflict pain. When their blood is spilled if it touches flesh it inflicts pain. It is highly toxic.
Swallow - 40 Crowns - Swallow is a potion that is not too difficult to make which accelerates regeneration. Despite this it is still incredibly risky to give to a non-witcher since it is toxic.
Tawny Owl - 60 Crowns - Tawny Owl makes the drinker regain their stamina more quickly. It does not stop them from getting exhausted or tired but instead lessens the time it takes for them to regain their energy. This potion is fairly toxic.
Thunderbolt - 90 Crowns - Thunderbolt is a potion that increases strength but weakens reaction time. It makes it easier to strike hard or lift objects, but it becomes harder to dodge and parry. Thunderbolt is highly toxic.
White Honey - 120 Crowns - White Honey is a potion that removes toxicity from potions that exist within the body. It does not remove the effects of toxins that have already damaged the body, it also removes any of the benefits of potions. This does not remove poisons or toxins unaffiliated with potions.
White Rafford's Decoction - 140 Crowns - White Rafford's Decoction is a potion that rapidly heals a target of current wounds but does not increase further regeneration. This potion is incredibly toxic and is dangerous for even a witcher to use.
Willow - 80 Crowns - Willow is a potion that makes it much harder to lose consciousness. It also increases one's sense of balance making it harder to get knocked down. Willow is highly toxic.
Wives' Tears - 50 Crowns - Wives' Tears is a potion that removes intoxication that comes from alcohol. It does not remove poisons or toxins from the body, it is mildly toxic.
Wolverine - 150 Crowns - Wolverine is a potion that can greatly enhance rage. It is mildly toxic but when injured or enraged after consuming this potion the drinker can notice their reflexes and strength increase.

Blunt Arrow - 20 for 25 Crowns - A blunt arrow is an arrow with a blunted tip that is designed for stunning targets. They typically are not lethal though a blow to the skull, sternum, or spine can still be very dangerous.
Bodkin Arrow - 20 for 40 Crowns - Bodkin arrows are arrows designed to pierce some forms of armor. They are still not likely to wound someone underneath heavy armor but may pierce mail and will definitely pierce leather.
Broad Arrow - 20 for 30 Crowns - Broad arrows are the standard type of arrow used. They are broad in shape with feathers at the back of the shaft. These arrows are designed for killing and drawing blood.
Iron Quarrel - 20 for 35 Crowns - A quarrel is a type of bolt that is fired by crossbows, they are capable of piercing some form of armor though iron quarrels are less effective than steal ones. They almost resemble darts.
Silent Arrow - 20 for 60 Crowns - The silent arrows are designed to make little sound with their tapered thin feathers. Their broad heads have small razor edges that are cut into the metal in spirals causing the arrow to corkscrew when going into flesh ripping it apart. These arrows are favored by Elven guerrillas.
Steel Quarrel - 20 for 45 Crowns - A quarrel is a type of bolt that is fired by crossbows, they are capable of piercing some forms of armor. Steel quarrels typically do not bend or break when hitting lighter armor but against plate may bend or dull.

Pole Arm:

Bill - 160 Crowns - A bill is a pole arm that has a hooked blade on the end. The shaft of the pole is made of wood while the head of the weapon is steel. The blade is not very long but the hook can be used for trapping weapons, pulling riders off horses, or peeling back armor.
Fauchard - 180 Crowns - A fauchard is a pole arm that ends in a curved blade. This curved blade can act like a hook but resembles a sickle more, it's not very long so it does not have the reach advantage of a glaive and is not sharp on both sides.
Halberd - 220 Crowns - A halberd is a pole weapon with a steel weapon head that has an axe, spike, and sharp point. It can be used to crush armor, hook armor, slice, and stab. The halberd is a very versatile weapon but it is also heavy and large.
Goedendag - 170 Crowns - A goedendag is a strange looking weapon, it is in essence a club with a spike on the end. It can be used for bludgeoning or stabbing.
Glaive - 200 Crowns - A glaive is a long pole arm that ends in a single edged blade designed for slicing. It can be used to stab but its main function is for chopping or slicing. It has considerable reach and a long blade making it a dangerous weapon to approach.
Scythe - 90 Crowns - The scythe is typically a tool for farming but one can be used as a weapon. In this way they are not as effective as weapons, but it is still feasible to use one. It is a long pole with a handle jutting out that ends in a long single edge blade that bends towards the shaft. It's reach is not great but it can still be used for slicing.
Pollaxe - 210 Crowns - The pollaxe is similar to the halberd, both are pole weapons with long reach that have axe heads and a spike on the back. The main difference is that a pollaxe has a short spike on the top rather than a long spear like protrusion. This makes it quicker to stab but with less reach while doing so, it's also harder for the weapon to be deflected by its spike because of this. It can be used for slicing, crushing, peeling armor, and stabbing.
Bardiche - 190 Crowns - A bardiche is a pole weapon that resembles a large axe, it is in truth between a glaive and an axe. It has a single edged blade at the head which is one one side of the weapon, it is entirely designed for slicing and cannot effectively hook other weapons. The head weighs quite a bit though giving it an additional amount of power.
Guisarme - 190 Crowns - A guisarme is a pole weapon that resembles a harpoon slightly. It has a long sharp point that can be used for thrusting and below it a hook that points towards the wielder. This hook can be used for pulling down riders, peeling armor, or hooking weapons.
Alpenstock - 100 Crowns - An alpenstock is a long tool mostly made of wood with a metal spike on the end like a pick. It is mostly used to aid in climbing and hiking but can be used as a weapon, it has considerable length but the spike at the tip is very short and small.
Long War Hammer - 240 Crowns - A long war hammer is a war hammer that has increased length to give it more leverage when being wielded with two hands. It has a hammer head with a spike on the back and top which can be used for crushing. The spike on the back is curved allowing it to hook and peel back armor. The head is solid steel which allows for the flat hammer end to smash and batter foes.
Lucerne Hammer - 240 Crowns - A lucerne hammer is a pole weapon that ends in a hammer head with a spike on the back of the head and a spear tip on the top. It can be used as a spear, hammer, or crushing spiked weapon. It is highly effective against armor but can only be used for cutting with the very tip of the weapon using the spear head.
Quarterstaff - 80 Crowns - A quarterstaff is a pole weapon that is entirely made of wood. It can be used to batter and strike, it can also be used to aid in walking. Without and sharp edges, metal protrusions, or spikes it is a weapon that can be used to disarm or stun foes rather easily. Carrying a weapon like this shows no immediate intent to kill.
War Scythe - 95 Crowns - A war scythe is a pole weapon made using a scythe. The blade head is removed then placed on it facing outwards causing it to resemble a small glaive head. It can be used for stabbing and slashing but the blade is curved causing it to be less effective as a thrusting weapon.

The gabriel uses small dart like bolts and has a quick reload time, though it is still wide which makes it hard to conceal.

Enchanted Arming Sword - 180 Crowns - An arming sword made of steel with an engraving upon it in Dwarven runes. In Dwarven they say "Holding your breath, you ignore the smoking ruins, you dive beneath the waters, you rest among the stones below." This sword can be used to store magic and release magic.
Enchanted Dagger - 90 Crowns - A dagger with a serrated blade that has Dwarven runes on it. In Dwarven they say "Into the heart of a mighty crossing the bubbling, smoldering, shifting, wafting, it hardens." This blade can be used to store magic and release magic.
Iron Scepter - 130 Crowns - An iron scepter that is just over six feet in height, it can be used to store and release magic. With it being iron it can be used effectively as a weapon and also carries with it extra weight. While a wooden scepter shows some importance an iron scepter shows some resemblance of official stature.
Iron Wand - 70 Crowns - An iron wand that is just under a foot in length, it can be used to store and release magic. It is sharpened at the tip meaning it can be used to stab or strike with. While it being iron makes it weigh more than its wooden counterpart an iron wand shows more importance.
Wooden Hanging Scepter - 90 Crowns - A wooden scepter that can be used for storing and releasing magic. It is just over six feet tall and can be used as a weapon, wielding one shows some resemblance of power. The hanging scepter has a hook and basket for hanging objects of importance. These can be incenses, gems, or even magical objects.
Wooden Scepter - 80 Crowns - A wooden scepter that can be used for storing and releasing magic. It is just over six feet tall and can be used as a weapon, wielding one shows some resemblance of power.
Wooden Wand - 50 Crowns - A wooden wand that can be used for storing and releasing magic. It is small and hard to differentiate from a normal stick to the naked eye. One can attack with it but it makes a feeble weapon. Only those with knowledge of magic would even recognize it.

When it comes to clothing what matters the most is whether the clothing would be hard to attain or easy to. While clothing may not matter much in some instances for social matters clothing is very important. Do you appear like a peasant or a noble, do you dress like a merchant or a simple laborer? People will treat you differently based on your clothing and clothing can even be handy for deceiving others. Simply detail the clothing your character has and I will designate it one of the following.

Gambeson - - The gambeson is a padded jacked that is worn for defensive purposes. It can be made of wool or linen. It may be stuffed with various materials, an even worn under armor to aid in protection. A doublet generally protects the neck, and is long sleeved and goes down to at least the knees.
Arming Doublet - - An arming doublet is a sort of tunic that is worn on the chest with long sleeves. It can be tucked into pants, and has joints for hooking armor to, thus making armor more stable upon the wearer.
Reinforced Arming Doublet - - A reinforced arming doublet is one with gousset, mail, sewn into the elbows and armpits. This helps to protect the joints of the wearer when armor may not.

Mail Armor:

Aventail - - The aventail is a piece of mail armor that is worn typically with a helm or some sort of head wear. It attaches to the piece then hangs down protecting the neck, shoulder, and lower head.
Chausses - - Chausses are leggings that are worn which are made of mail armor. They protect the legs, feet, and thighs from slashing and somewhat from piercing strikes. It is typical for them to be worn underneath plate armor on a fully armored knight but most would go with just the chausses.
Coif - - A coif is a piece of head armor that protects all of the head and the neck but not the face. It is made of steel mail and protects against slashing and somewhat against piercing.
Gousset - - Gousset is the mail pieces of armor that is found at the joint or other parts of a set of armor where it otherwise does not provide protection on the torso. Mainly the idea is to wear plate armor with gousset sewn into a shirt worn underneath the armor to protect vulnerable parts of the wearer.
Haubergeon - - The haubergeon is a piece of chain mail chest armor that has partial sleeves, it protects from the shoulders to the thighs. It is resistant to blades, thrusting, piercing, and is slightly resistant to blunt force.
Hauberk - - The hauberk is a piece of mail chest armor that has sleeves and hangs down to the thighs. It is resistant to blades, thrusting, piercing, and is slightly resistant to blunt force. A hauberk can help protect against most weaponry, though it only govers the torso, arms, and thighs.
Hooded Haubergeon - - This is simply a haubergeon with a mail hood to protect the neck and head.
Hooded Hauberk - - This is simply a hauberk with a mail hood to protect the neck and head.
Jazerant - - A jazerant is a piece of mail armor for the chest that is worn between layers of leather or clothing. It covers from the shoulders to the elbows, and to the knees.

Plated Mail Armor:

Bechter - Bechter armor is a chest piece comprised of a shirt of mail armor. The mail rings cover from bicep to bicep, and shoulder to waist. The chest, stomach, and back are covered in linked together plates which improve the protection in these areas.

Cloth - 10 Crowns - This adds a patch of cloth to something, cloth protects against wind and other simple elements.
Padded Cloth - 15 Crowns - This adds a piece of of padded cloth to something, padded cloth helps a bit with blunt trauma.
Leather - 20 Crowns - A piece of leather that can be affixed to something. This gives a slight increase against tearing and cutting.
Hardened Leather - 35 Crowns - A piece of hardened leather that can be affixed to something. This gives an increase against tearing and cutting.
Riveted Leather - 40 Crowns - A piece of leather with iron plates under the leather affixed with rivets, this can be attached to something worn. This provides good defense against slashing, and tearing.

Spoiler: Magic 

Magic has many names, The Force, Power, and Chaos are three of the most commonly used terms to explain the energy that is magic. It is possible to draw magical energy from intersections but one must be careful. While drawing magic from the world around the self is not as dangerous drawing it from an intersection without care can cause a massive overflow and irradiate the body. This can manifest as a simple nosebleed, it can also rupture one's heart or cause their head to explode. Fire is the most difficult of all magic to draw out, fire is also the most difficult of all magic to use. There are four elements, Air, Earth, Fire, Water. Air is the easiest of the elements to use and drain. Magic tends to work in a similar fashion to radiation which causes it to effect beings over time. As well some can be born allergic to magic rendering them typically dead upon contact with anything magical.

When it comes to casting magic it will work simply, gather energy for casting spells. I'll let you know roughly how much energy you have. The more powerful the spell the more energy it will require. If you do not have the energy to cast a spell you can try to do so but you'll probably injure yourself. In regards to actually having spells the number of spells in The Witcher series is vast. It would take a lot of time to list them all, going through the games spells and each book manually noting everything a mage ever does. With magic one can change their appearance, heal wounds, cause iron spikes to grow from their skin, transform into a small animal, teleport, survive an explosion, create a barrier, throw an elemental bolt, the list goes on. Simply put list off the spells you want, try to make them very simple, something a low-level mage could cast. Magic users will get ten spells they can choose, witchers on the other hand will get all of the signs. Signs require very little magical energy and require the making of signs with hands and arms, but this can be limiting in other ways or stopped altogether with bindings and injuries. Casting magic in general requires precise body movements and as such casting magic is hard to do while restricted, injured, or in combat. Amulets, staves, and other magical items can enhance magical abilities. It is also wise to have some way to protect one's body from harm with magic like a magical shield. The elements also work a bit differently from what might be common in other worlds. In The Witcher fire magic is fire, water magic is ice, air magic is lightning, and earth magic is power like a push or wave of energy.

Aard - Aard is a sign that is used to create a powerful force for striking a target. It is like a push, thrust, or punch that can knock down foes or even cause fragile structures to collapse.
Axii - Axii is a hex or bewitchment, a charm in essence. It can be used to influence the minds of others, to whatever the desired effect is. There is a risk of Axii failing more so with willful or intelligent targets. People can be trained against charms, or even be naturally willful.
Heliotrop - Heliotrop is a sign made through crossing of the wrists. It is a sign that is used to block magic, it acts like a shield and the sign must be made for it to take effect. This is a sign that requires the use of both hands.
Igni - Igni is a sign made with one hand that is used to ignite a target. It can be used to light a camp fire, to light a person on fire, it has many uses.
Quen - Quen is a sign made with one hand that puts a slight protective barrier around the cast. This sign protects the caster from physical harm, but not magical harm.
Yrden - Yrden is a sign made via drawing circles on the ground with one's hand. It acts as a trap or barrier, knocking away or blocking creatures from having access to the ground it is placed.

I have always wanted to do a witcher RP as both games are awesome and what of the books (only the first two currently but I am getting more through amazon soon) I have read so far are also great. Yep a new RP, I've wanted to do a The Witcher one for quite a while and I've finally gotten around to it. It's going to be a bit tricky since the books definitely break the rules, we'll have to tone down things a bit but hopefully we'll still get that The Witcher feel. I'm actually wondering if anyone will play as a witcher since well, a part of being a witcher is getting the raw deal.
