I was hoping for my Haelorin Saga character.
Spoiler: Ksenia Lutza
Name: Ksenia Lutza formerly Thea Imogen
Titles or Ranks: Commander
Race: Human
Nationality: Sonnengard
Age: 28
Spoiler: Appearance:Ksenia is tall for a woman standing just under six feet, with a lean swimmer's build. She is well muscled on her arms and shoulders, her palms are also heavily callused from years of working on a ship. Her skin holds a slight tan to it but for the most part she has a lighter skin tone. Ksenia's thick black hair is worn short barely touching the edge of her collar in a bob, as it common for women in the military. Her eyes are a stark contrast to her hair appearing as a very pale grayish blue color. Despite her tall muscled stature Ksenia is still a pretty woman though she isn't one to flaunt it, preferring to blend in and not stand out.
She hasn't been on active duty in the Navy for several years but she still wears the gray coat of the uniform, it is old and worn from the sun and exposure to salt water. Under the coat she wears a blue tunic with a light shirt of chain mail. She is commonly seen wearing a pair of brown trousers and a pair of calf high boots.
She walks with a noticeable limp, tending to favor her right leg where there is a long scar that runs from her knee most of the way up her thigh. The injury was caused from a cannonball striking the mast of the ship she was aboard splintering it into pieces; one of those pieces struck Ksenia in the leg. The wound was enough to force her to have a constant limp but she has adapted quite well to it and it doesn't seem to slow her down much, aside from aching fiercely in the winter.
Spoiler: Weapons:
Spoiler: Rapier and Dagger
Standard issue Navel rapier and long dagger. She wears the rapier on her right hip allowing for a left handed cross draw and the dagger on the left hip.
Spoiler: Pistol
Standard issue Navel pistol. She is rare to use it as ammo is hard for her to come by. More often than not she will use it as a bluff or show of force.
Creed: “Live and die for yourself, as no else will.”
Spoiler: Personality:
Ksenia is a master of hiding who she is, she can easily become anyone she wants to be. This is all a facade hiding who she really is, a jaded and broken woman. Over the years she has been betrayed by and lost everyone she has ever known. Disowned by her family, and cast off by the Navy. It has taught her that people can't be trusted and no one will look out for you except you. When she isn't wearing one of her masks she is cold and blunt with people. She isn't one to make friends and you could say she doesn't have any more like a list of contacts. People who she can use to her advantage.
Spoiler: Skills and Talents:
Spoiler: Weapons Training:
Born to a life of privilege Ksenia was tutored from a young age in fencing and completed competitively for much of her youth making her a gifted swordsman. While in the Navy she was taught marksmanship but never really excelled at it. She can hit the target while on the shooting range but with moving targets shooting back she gets lucky from time to time, she much prefers a good old fashion sword fight to a shootout.
Spoiler: Social Training:
Despite living the privileged life as a child and youth she has learned well how to blend in with the common person. Her mother insisted she take acting lessons as a child to balance out all the sword play her father allowed, helping her act more like a lady. These lessons have allowed Ksenia to take on whatever role she chooses most commonly to swindle or persuade others to her bidding.
Spoiler: Banes:
Spoiler: Vanity:
Ksenia is a good swordsman and very boastful of her skills. She is not one to back away from a sword fight and will often taunt her opponent. She also as a tendency of toying with less skilled fighters making them think they have the upper hand only to cut them down.
Spoiler: Untrusting:
She doesn’t trust anyone and usually prefers to work alone even on jobs that would flow much more smoothly with a partner or two. She won’t rely on anyone to help her out and refuses to help others unless there is a benefit to her.
Spoiler: Melor Province
A harbor region in the far north of Sonnengard known for its fishing and ship industry. It is a relatively new province to Sonnengard having formerly been part of Eresia at least until 30 years ago when the province fell. The nation of Eresia fought more to keep the province than the people did. They were so far north and such a small area that they didn’t really care which nation’s flag flew in their keeps. Being that they are a more remote province they are mostly left alone by whatever nation owns them and that is how the people like it. The province has a good relationship with Sonnengard mostly because they pay their taxes and give whatever required tributes while the capital leaves them be to live their lives.
Spoiler: Biography:Born as Thea Imogen to Lord Thane and Lady Adelisa in a northwestern province of Melor which close to the Eresian border. The province hasn’t been part of the Sonnengard Empire for long formerly belonging to Eresia before being absorbed. Her parents were born Eresia citizens but by the time Thea was born the province had accepted being part of the Sonnengard empire. Her father owned a trading company with a fair amount of ships that sell to many different places in the world. She is their only child due to Lady Adelisa having a very difficult child birth which she nearly didn’t survive. Lord Thane always want a boy but settled for a girl child, loving her just the same though he admits he may have pushed her to be the tomboy she has become by letting her train with swords and play on the ships.
She always had a close relationship with her father but her relationship with her mother has never been a good one. Her parents had an arranged marriage and from the start didn't get along though both believed they would grow to love each other that never happened. Thea takes after her father much to her mother's annoyance. As a child her father doted on her and often treated her as a son allowing her to play with the boys in the keep. Shortly after Thea turned fourteen her father was killed in an accident in the harbor, her mother didn't really morn his death but rather celebrated it. There were even some rumors that Lady Adelisa paid off several dock workers to stage the accident. The Lady Adelisa took control of the family business and planed on taking back her daughter. She refused to allow Thea to continue with her fencing and tried to force her to become more ladylike. She even arranged for Thea to be engaged to a man of her choosing, someone Thea couldn't stand. Thea tolerated her mother for two years until she was finally old enough and she signed on as a Ensign in the Navy, with Melor Province being so involved in the shipping industry and remote it was the only option.
She requested to be assigned far away from Melor Province and was placed aboard the HMS Regal a battle ship assigned to protect the shipping fleets loyal to Sonnengard. Having grown up around ships she quickly adapted to life on a ship. Had her Captain, a foul and bad tempered man not judged her by her gender rather than ability she would have rose quickly through the ranks. Still by the time she was twenty-four she had fought her way to the rank of commander and was the ship's Master Boatswain, responsible for the rigging and deck crews. She had been at her post for almost a year when the ship ran across a group of pirates, where a large sea battle took place. During the battle a cannonball struck one of the masts of the ship. A large piece of debris impaled Thea in the leg and threw her from the ship. She managed to hang onto a piece of drift wood during the battle and had believed she would pulled back onto the ship after the battle. The battle ended and no boats were dropped into the water, no one was recovered from the water. Thea watched as the ship sailed away still clinging to the drift wood.
Lucky for Thea the ship wasn't far from the shore and she was able to drift close enough to the shore to swim to land. She was taken in by a group of priests and priestesses on the coast of Æterna where she had washed ashore. They nursed her back to health over the course of several months, allowing her to recover from her wounds and exposure. The priests had wanted her to join them in services but she had never really been religious another wedge between her and her mother. When she refused to partake in them, she was asked to leave the temple.
She made her way back to Sonnengard but rather than head to the nearest military installation, returning to the Navy she found herself in a seedy tavern where she bought a set of forged discharge papers and a new identity. She had enough of living for someone else who ultimately would betray her, first it had been to please her mother who only wanted her perfect idea of a daughter, then by the military who left her for dead and last the temple who kick her out for not having faith. She stay in the small town on the Sonnengard border for a while taking odd jobs, some legal some not so much. After a while she had developed a reputation in the underworld as a thief, spy and occasional assassin. She began traveling around the country wherever the work took her.
Spoiler: RP SampleThe fog was thick in the early morning as an older man with light gray hair walked down a deserted street, his coat pulled up high to fight the biting cold. He didn’t notice as Ksenia stepped out of an alley, at least until he felt her blade pierce upward into his belly. He tried to let a cry of surprise or pain but a hand pressed to his mouth caused it to come out a muffled groan. “Nothing personal just a job.” Ksenia whispered into his ear and she eased him to the ground. He was dead by the time she released him and wiped the excess blood on her blade onto his shirt. She placed the clean dagger back into her scabbard then went to work rummaging through his pockets. She found small pouch of money, a pocket watch and some candies. Leaving the candy behind she slipped the watch and money into her coat pocket then removed a couple of rings from his fingers before leaving his body in the street.
She had been paid to kill the man by a business rival so as she had told him it was nothing personal just another job. Heading up the street she ducked into a tavern sitting down at the far end of the bar. She ordered some breakfast and began eating. By the time she was nearly finished a man with dark black greasy hair sat beside her. She didn’t say anything just took one of the rings from her pocket and slid it across the bar to the man who quickly snatched it up. He cupped it in his hand hiding it from view as he examined it. “Won’t be linked back to me?” He asked.
“Not unless you don’t get rid of that as soon as possible. I recommend throwing it in the river.” Ksenia said, finishing up the last of her meal as the man put a pouch in front of her. She lifted it feeling the weight was right then pulled out enough money to cover her meal and walked to the door.
As she walked through the door another man ran in to the tavern nearly knocking into Ksenia who quickly stepped out of his way as she exited. “Somebody call the constable old man Dashiell’s been mugged. He’s dead!” She heard the man say not stopping to hear anymore. She walked straight to the river docks to see if she could find work on one of the riverboats. She never liked staying around town after she had been paid to kill someone.
At the docks she found a good sized boat that no doubt would be heading to the Capital. There was a younger man standing by the boat that she called out to, “You hiring?”
“Only hiring deck hands commander ain’t got anything in management.” The man said, noticing the rank on her collar.
“Just looking for passage to the Capital. I don’t mind working a bit.” She said, as the man welcomed her aboard the boat calling out to someone on the deck to show her around.
The style for the clothing is like 17th or 18th century style, here is the descriptor for the military uniform that Stormwolf posted.
Spoiler: UniformSonnenmensch army uniforms consist of dark grey trousers, tall black boots, and a steely blue-grey jacket with black braiding and ten rows of silver buttons, three across the chest, as well as long graphite greatcoats for the wintertime.
Different regiments and brigades are adorned accordingly, often with the dying of their collars and the design of their epaulets. Some specialist division will have the braiding of their uniforms differently colored. Sonnengard grenadiers, for example, have frock coats rather that the jackets of standard infantry, their braiding a deep crimson, while Sonnengard Navy bears white braiding and silver epaulets. Every Sonnenmensch army man is fitted with a full field kit, cartridge box, musket, pistol, and bayonet smallsword.
Thanks, whenever you can get to it that would be awesome. I am not looking for a full sized, head to toe picture, I think just something from the chest and soldiers up.
