Cat watched silently as Lucas stepped out and surrendered as per her suggestion. There were risks, yes. But also benefits. In this case, Cat believed that the benefits outweighed the risks. When it came to Austin and getting him out of the dark place he was in, nothing else mattered but bringing him back to school. Cat looked around at the guns that were pointed at them.
Her nose was all but useless with the putrid smell of the ghetto around them but her ears worked just fine. Cat was listening for the clinking of the trigger being pulled. At Caesar's command, they had lowered their weapons and almost instantly, it was as if they were honored guests. The man led them into the limo. The only thing Cat truly noticed was that creepy grin on his face. She hated it and wanted to claw that thing off of his skin. But she couldn't because this man had some hold on Austin. It was their only link to their friend.
Cat did not miss Caesar's reference to the 'Lucas treatment'. She knew that the kid wasn't telling them the whole truth. No one was and that infuriated her. She growled slightly as she watched Lucas start eating before grabbing some for herself. "Alright. So we play nice for now. But that doesn't change the fact that we need to find Austin. We need a way to turn this whole thing to favor us. The gangster has to at least know that we have powers in some way, shape, or form. And Janette can tell us if he's lying. I doubt that I would be able to pick out Austin's smell but that kid has this... distinct smell to him so who knows. Regardless, we need to think of something!'
