"I don't know, but he was scaring Vulture pretty bad," James said, half laughing, "And anyone who does that is alright in my book." James sat back down and said, "But anyways, I'm gonna go to the mess hall, I'm starved. I'm going into a city later today to track down some guy. Any idea where you will be next? They probably wont send you out for another few days will they?"

"You may wanna hit the showers first." Kyda said pointing to James's cloths. With a sigh she settled back into the bed.
"I'm hoping it will be at least a week or more before they try to make me do anything. I wish there was a way out of all this."

James said as he walked out the door, "Alright, get better. I'll see you in a few days. Try not to get shot before then!" Kyda was left to her quiet room, only the sound of a wounded soldier down the hall moaning.

It was not until the next day Kyda would get another visitor, with the exception of Kate bringing food and medicine. Vulture came in the next morning, looking strangely uneasy. "They're going to discharge you in two days. Some higher up believe you did good work out there. That boy you rescued was able to give us some valuable intel on The Animal. Throwing caution to the wind can have it's benefits, I guess," Vulture said in a distracted, uninterested voice. "I'm preparing an operation against The Animal. They'll probably send you somewhere else now. I hope you piss off your next handler as much as you do me," Vulture said, pausing, as if he were going to say something else, but instead getting up and leaving the room.

Shortly after he left, the small cell phone Kyda had been given, and probably had forgotten about started to ring. But this time something was different. When she answered, it was not the Beast.

It was had to hear that she wouldn't be working with Vulture anymore. She had come to hold a little affection for the harsh merc and it pained her to see yet another familiar face be taken away from her. Letting Vulture leave the room Kyda couldn't help but feel as if some things had gone unsaid between them. Hopefully they would be able to see each other again and maybe, just maybe say what they needed to.

Hearing the phone ring Kyda jumped a little. She had forgotten the little device was even there. Stealing herself for more of the beast confusing orders the Australian picked up the phone.
"You had better be giving me a ticket home." She said boredly forgoing any greetings.

"Kyda....listen! It's me James!" the voice on the other side said. Heavy gunfire could be heard in the background. "You can't trust the Beast! There are things....a lot of things he hasn't told us..." an explosion sounded off on the other side line, "...listen, I don't have much time, if you want answers, I have a possible lead. The Animal...I know what he did to you, but you have to find him, somehow. He might be the ticket out. Kyda, we wont be seeing ea-" The line suddenly ended, leaving Kyda alone in silence.

"James?!!! JAMES!!" Kyda yelled into the phone as the line went dead. No it couldn't be. James had been with her not less then a few hours ago, and now....
Dropping the phone on the bed Kyda brought her hands to her mouth covering it as tears began to roll down her cheeks. James's words played over and over in her head.
"You cant trust the Beast..... Find the Animal..."
Not trusting the Beast wasn't exactly new information, but trusting the Animal? What had James seen and heard in the short time they had been apart to give him this new information.

Charlie looked around as he walked towards the isolated two story base. The Jungle seemed to consume them, this lone building being the only refuge from the seemingly endless greenery and wildlife. Charlie swatted at several bugs that flew around him as he walked. "Just inside here, Vulture will fill you in on your role in this operation," another mercenary walking with him said.

He entered the building, immediately feeling the cool, refreshing air of the air conditioned building hitting him. He was escorted to a small room that had a wooden table in the center, surrounded by 10 metal folding chairs. He sat down, the several other men in the room, including Vulture nodded at him.

"We have the Animal, he is isolated, low on supplies, and weak. Last time he had the advantage, but this time we will wipe him out," Vulture said.

Kyda sat on her bed looking at her phone for what seemed like hours. Her mind still trying to process what had just happened.
Eventually she dragged herself out of bed and numbly put on some cloths that had been left for her. Black cargo pants and a matching singlet top. Not exactly her style but it would have to do till she could find something that wasn't so morbid. Though it did seem to fit her now somber heart.

Still moving stiffly Kyda walked into the hall and looked each way. How exactly was she even going to find the Animal without getting herself or anyone she knew killed? It was a tall order. Especially if they hadn't fixed the whole sickness issue while she had been unconscious.
Deciding to make her way in the opposite direction she had last time Kyda set off slowly.

Charlie listened quietly as Vulture went over the plan. He thought back on the past week. In the time since he and Darryl had parted, he had learned he had been a helicopter pilot in his time before waking up here. After learning this, The Beast gave him a Soviet Mi-24 HIND helicopter to pilot, and he had flown several sorties.

The Rhodesian shifted his attention after Vulture mentioned his name. Charlie's roll was to provide air reconnaissance and extraction, and if needed, ground support with his helicopter to the ground teams. It seemed like an easy enough mission, and he wouldn't have to get his hands dirty.

The meeting was dismissed, and everyone slowly got up and went about their ways. Vulture approached Charlie, "Good to have a pilot on board. This is a pretty basic outpost. It is mainly a medical facility, but there is a spare bed in the barracks upstairs. You can grab some chow in the mess. Other than that, just be prepared to roll out at 2200 hours." Charlie nodded, and left the room.

The hall way never seemed to end. At least it seemed that way to the still injured Australian. Walking slowly the silence that filled the hall was almost suffocating but Kyda was to scared to make any noise incase someone heard her. She didn't want to be forced back to bed until the Beast decided where to send he off to get shot at next.
