    BACKSTORY & PLOT

As foreseen many years ago, the human race have finally managed to destroy the world they called Earth. Not through War, not through Corporate corruption or political imbalance, but the people themselves. Humans, with their technology and advances in medicine managed to live beyond the years that they had expected, some even reaching 200 years of age, if you had the money and luck.

This over population was the cause, and the world began deteriorating due to all the pollution and waste we created, it started with the sea, and soon after the continents began taking their fall, but even then humanity didn't want to end it, not yet. Nearly 1 billion people of the humans on Earth were relocated to the new space program, which was called Project Forerunner.

Many were left behind as the starfleet left Earth in search of a new planet to call home, heading into the vast expanse of space for a suitable rock to replace the beloved Earth.

Three years later, they found it, a planet which was named by it's dark greenish colour, Moss. Moss was ideal, covered in dense rainforest and a breathable atmosphere, it was perfect. But high command could not risk putting over a billion people on a planet they knew nothing about , so a small team was assembled, a team of specialists to go down and judge the planet, this is their story...

    MOSS

The climate on Moss is warm and humid, a perfect place for a planet-wide rainforest to grow and develop. Moss has it's own system of rivers and lakes that run all over the planet, and even has it's very own host of exotic species of wildlife and alien organism, some peaceful, others not so much.

Moss is also a whole system of caves and underground passages from the moving plates, giving anyone who lands more to explore other than the canopy and ground alone.

    CHARACTER CREATION

When creating a character, be sure to know exactly what role you will fulfill, the roles of the team are going to be listed below, after this segment.

Also keep in mind that no character should be perfect, each and every character should have personal flaws and benefits, as those will ultimately make a unique and likable character for the play.

The ages of the characters have to be reasonable as well, as no one would send a 18-year-old scientist down to explore a foreign planet, or a 80-year-old combat veteran to shoot some baddies, please keep the ages between 25 and 50.

No inhuman or supernatural beings are allowed, every character is to be human, and when it comes to modifications of said human, augmentations are allowed, but don't overdo it and turn your character into some sort of robocop cyber soldier, augmentations should only be given to help the character if they have sustained an injury in the past, like blasted a leg or an arm away.

When it comes to weapons, try and be realistic as well, as one wouldn't go planet exploring with only a katana and a few throwing knives. Sure, daggers and swords are allowed as backup weapons, but not as a primary. Every character should have at least one firearm with a bit of spare ammo if this RP is to work out smoothly.

    WEAPONS

A fellow RP'er (Thanks Enigma) brought by a swell idea which I mean to incorporate into the role play, and that's weapon calibers.

Character with any sort of weapon, should have their weapon able to use the specified ammunition type.

This being: 9mm for pistols, .45 for SMG's, 12 gauge for Shotguns, 7.62 for AR's & LMG's, and finally .50 calibers for sniper rifles.

Melee weapons have been changed, they should be any of the following weapons. Retractable stun stick, Combat vibro-dagger, downrange tomahawk. These are the weapons a character can choose.

Another piece of gear has been added to the gear a character has, a hexagonal rod called the "Multi-tool". It's a rod with different settings and options, things such as screwdrivers, fork, spoon, single chopstick, pocket knife, and a heavier variant of the Multi-tool allows wrenches, crowbars and hammers to be used.

    ROLES

    Commander - Mr. Gen

    Security Chief - Cfavano

    Security Unit - DarkShadow

    Science Officer - melancholy-mood

    Chief of Engineering - Enigma

    Medical Officer - Clyde

    Exobiology Officer - manyInterests

THESE ROLES ARE NOT FULLY PERMANENT AS OF YET, AS SOME NEED TO READ AND ADJUST THEIR CHARACTER SHEETS ACCORDINGLY.

Now when it comes to roles and their permissions, keep in mind that every role has had some sort of military history, and all are trained in using a specific set of weapons and gear.

Science, Medical and Exobiology officers can use any pistol and SMG's, while Chief of Engineering is only allowed to use pistols, SMG's and Shotguns.

Security unit and Chief are allowed to use any sort of fire arm, anything from pistols to high caliber sniper rifles. This also applies to the Commander of the team.

Armor-wise, every character has the option of having armor or not, and if they choose to have armor, the basic components are a plate chestpiece with ballistic collar, armguards, shin and knee guards. Now, an addition to this armor is the Any-armor modification, which is activated to give the wearer a holographic force-field that is shapes as armor plating to hover a couple inches over the wearers body. This armor varies depending on the design which can be obtained through apps. Anything from light, medium and heavy. Each standard suit of armor also has a collapsible helmet which will automatically come on when in a space which lacks air or has damaging fumes. It can also be activated manually, giving extra head protection in dangerous situations.

Ok, let's break this down a bit. If this is a military-style mission, then you want to standardize things a bit. Everyone who gets a hand gun gets the same hand gun. This way you're carting around sixteen ammo cans of 9mm or whatever size, not sixteen ammo cans each a different size that only works in one kind of gun and cannot be exchanged.

Everyone authorized to carry an smg should be issued the same smg as the guy next to him so if they die, you can use the ammo he had without carting around two guns.

Why wouldn't you give everyone in the party a gas mask?

Why wouldn't you give everyone in the party the same body armor?

Well, I don't feel there should be so much put into it.

Sure it has military elements in it but I'm not going to make up an entire arsenal for that fact. I feel that if I do that, then it's going to end up like LPIC, where barely anyone shows up. My opinion is that LPIC was a bit too detailed maybe, hell, maybe even a little intimidating.

Hence I won't be putting any of the specifications such as standard armor and weaponry, as I'd like to give anyone who joins a chance to customize their character more.

Just because I didn't put in the information about gas masks doesn't mean they don't have them, remember this is still a fresh idea and it will be going into more depth later.

    Thanks for the ideas though.

Now that I think about it, Enigma. Getting set calibers is a good idea, so thanks again for the input.

Name: Greyson R. Foster a.k.a Grey or Foster

    Age: 29

    Sex: Male

Orientation: Heterosexual - Widower - Wife Deceased

    Appearance:
If you saw this man limp your way, you'd be lucky to laugh at him, right before he whips out a Holopad and announces you're going to die in six months. Never easy to tell when he's joking. He has thick, curly brown hair and prefers being well shaven. He leans most of his weight on a cane and limps casually across the hall. You can tell he enjoys his job, even if he doesn't seem to be doing for the care of the people. Even with the cane he stands at 5'4" and has brown eyes. He's often seen wearing a long coat, and wears some comfortable, hiking boots.
    Exactly like image

Spoiler: This is what he wears often

Spoiler: This is more of a show of his face

    Role: Medical Officer

    Benefits:
They called him the centuries, most gifted genius, even if he's a little jaded. The biggest benefit of Foster is his sense of honor and morale. That doesn't always align with others sense of morale and honor. A lot of people take his intense form of bluntness and honesty as some kind of personal attack. Though in all honesty, most people in the future would appreciate the person who told them as it is now, instead of lying to them. Foster doesn't sugar coat anything, he tells you as it is, and expects you to take it at face value. He's intelligent, often hailed as a genius, all though he denies this any time anyone says it. He prefers being modest, rather than immodest. Respects, loyalty, honor, truth. He likes philosophical debates, and craves new challenges. People bore Foster, but he loves people's problems, illnesses, and disease. As he likes puzzles and mental challenges.

    Flaws:
What's that I wasn't really paying attention. Foster is not a people person, people bore him, people are always the same, predictably, they never fail to surprise him with a common brand of stupidity that has him rolling his eyes. He can be snarky, slightly rude, about what he thinks about people. And despite the fact that some people would appreciate his blunt approach other people may take it the wrong way. Foster, doesn't really take the time to make personal connections with his patients. Often times when handed a new patient, he treats them like he has just been handed a new puzzle. He unboxes it, beats himself up about it when he can't figure it out, and when he's figured it out he discards it. Foster doesn't often think much about it, formerly married, his wife died during an accident. He's not entirely choked up about it, though the accident itself sometimes strikes him with PTSD, though he often is to practical and logical to allow it to cripple him. He's jaded and doesn't take the time to create bonds with people, even the woman he married admitted they didn't have an emotional connection, only an intelligent one and a business one.

Physically he walks with a limp.

Armor/Gear: Armor NA, blue lab coat, black slacks, walking cane and hiking boots with a turtle neck sweater.

    Spoiler: A Backpack

    Contents of Bag Include:

-Medical Holopad, all though not the newest of models, this holopad registers all current patients into its data systems. This is what he uses to record information about your current health and the Holopad will aler to any anomalies. Holopad includes scan of patient, and personal health care for each patient as an individual.

Spoiler: It even Comes with a Compass, How Nice

*Holopad, also records Foster's own patient notes as well for each individual patient. Foster can take notes on his Holopad essentially

-Standard Issue Non Emergency Kit, this medical non emergency kit includes, Gel for burns, cuts and scrapes, closes and stitches up wounds quickly, fancy sci-fi version of Neosporin. Pain medication. And other non emergencies needs, bandages, wipes, sanitizer, etc.

-Standard Issue Emergency Kit, for more serious injuries such as broken bones, some kind of numbing gel for the pain, fever, break outs, topical issues.

-Several bottles of standard care medications, alongside empty syringes all individually wrapped

    Weapons:

    9mm Pistol

I'm leaving on a trip tomorrow, but expect to post at night. Going to take a long think on this rp, with an eye towards the chief engineer spot, and hope to have a character sheet by tomorrow night. I will probably run a few ideas past you.

A few minor changes have been done to the armor and weapons of the RP, take a look and feel free to ask if you have any questions.
