The winding reaches of Faerie are fickle and twisted, beyond the understanding of most, and when it reaches out to touch the mortal world it can often happen in unexpected ways. One never knows when its magic will sneak from its bounds and into the human realm, and the only thing less predictable is what it will bring back when it returns.
For one group of kids, the slippery nature of all that is Fae becomes more than just a quirky story. One minute life is as it always was, and the next they find themselves… Elsewhere. The world around them is much more vivid, and much more deadly, than the one they left behind. What’s worse is that it is also much more than a new world.
It is a homecoming.
Time and space tangle in the winding expanse of the Never Never, and though they come from many times and places, one fact connects them all-- they are Changelings, born of the fae and fostered by humans, and their Glamours have worn thin.
Though none know why they have been summoned, it will take all of them working together to find out what they are and tap into their powers, for each has a human half held captive by the courts.
Warped as time may be in the Never Never, it still exists. And it's running out.
Spoiler: The Never NeverThis is the world of the faeries, a place layered throughout and beyond the mortal realm. Here, forests grow large, wild, and old, and in their hidden depths are a host of creatures fantastical and strange. Magic is real and tangible here, running thick through the air and waters, and territorial disputes run rampant. Between the constant tension of the opposing courts, the shifting claims of the natural guardians, and the smaller disputes over trooping grounds, there is always the chance of stumbling right in to a confrontation.
Not to say that there aren't plenty of peaceful peoples living and working within the Never Never. For all that conflict is in the very blood of some Fae, for others this is simply their home. Many live in comfortable solitary homes, or in towns weaved in to the very fabric of the forestry.
Though several of them lead simple lives, the modern world has touched the culture here and there. Many are aware of the world outside of Fae, and some even adopt parts of it, living in houses modern to whichever time they favor. Some even live in the mortal realm, whether by choice or through exile, and there are many ways and places to slip between the parallel worlds.
Technology has a hard time working in the Never Never, and iron is a deadly, unwelcomed substance. To those of faerie blood, it can burn and even kill them when brought in to contact. While each species has different tells and weaknesses, this vulnerability to iron remains the same.
Spoiler: Fae Species and AbilitiesEach character is a changeling, and in this world faerie blood breeds true; everyone has a weak version of their species' powers or abilities.
Spoiler: SpeciesYou aren't limited to European creatures when it comes to choosing your faerie, but if you use Chinese, Native American, or Indian mythologies, for example, your character must be of that nationality. If using a European myth, though, your character doesn't have to be Caucasian.
Please be aware of the strengths or weaknesses of your chosen species! Feel free to link your resource on your character sheet, or ask me to link options or resources if you want them.
Broad species labels like ‘troll’ or ‘nymph’ or 'pixie' are good. Feel free to take on more specific titles, too, if you’re a folklore buff, like silvani or mazikeen.
It is also encouraged to be creative in your portrayal of these creatures! Remember though that the creatures you choose must be fairly human in appearance, as they were able to live among humans in disguise for most of their lives.
Spoiler: AbilitiesStarting off, each character can choose one trait and have a small capability with it. If they've got dryad blood, maybe they can manipulate plants just a bit, or heal more quickly in the sun. If they're part pixie, maybe they can fly a bit (at first, maybe just have a very long/high jump), or turn invisible, with limitations. Part troll? Maybe they are immensely strong or have very strong powers of persuasion.
These powers will develop and grow stronger the longer your character is in the Never Never, and we can communicate OOC or via PM to keep their progress steady!
All of them will have a growing ability to use their Glamour as well. These powers are mostly used for misdirection; they can change the appearance of most items, and of themselves. Other living things, too, if they are powerful enough.
It also takes a very strong Glamour to fool those with a keen Sight. The Sight is the ability to see through Glamour, and all faeries have it, as well as some mortals. It takes training to have very strong Sight.

Melody Beaulieu played by manyInterests
Spoiler: Melody Beaulieu
Name: Melody Beaulieu
Age: 18
Appearance: Melody stands at 5’6”, with strongly set shoulders and wide, curious eyes. Her hair falls in long, dark curls past her shoulders, light brown skin graced with freckles here and there, and more often than not her lips are curved into a playful, often sarcastic smile. She moves in a very casual way more often than not, very physical in her affections and fond of having contact with those that she likes, prone to standing perhaps a bit too close or too far away as she tries to adjust her comfort level with a new person.
Even when Melody doesn’t say much, her body language tends to read like an open book. Her expressions tell much about what she is thinking, and she tends to fidget with her hands or hair and bite at her lips when she is nervous or uncomfortable. Though she can hold still when she needs to, she gets restless when cooped up or too tense, and will pace.
For all of this, though, she is usually quite relaxed and playful. She is often humming or singing to herself, and loves to bring others in on her playful hijinks.
Personality: Melody walks a careful line between reserved and snarky, being a curious mix of both shameless and self conscious. For all that she may seem serious in appearance and manner, it simply isn’t the case; it takes quite a lot to get her to drop her strict guard of optimism in the face of tense situations. Whatever she may feel about the facts personally, she will always make a joke before giving her serious opinion, but when it comes to offering words of comfort, her endless rambling often tumbles to an ungraceful halt
Once Melody makes a decision, and when it is necessary, she is capable of bold action. Usually, though, she likes to have reassurance in the things that she does, and will keep quiet when she is insecure. On the other hand, she can often be outspoken and rowdy, playful when it may not be the best time for it. When she does talk and banter, she has a penchant for being accidentally mean; it only takes a sharp word to stop her from treading over a sensitive subject, but she can’t seem to turn off the sharper parts of her personality, however good her intentions are.
Species and Ability: Melody is a nixie, a guardian of the waters and its forestry whose claims were severed when she was left in the human world. When she arrived in faerie, she found herself with the ability to manipulate water, to some extent.
Brief Bio: From a young age, Melody was told she had a gift with language and music, her voice able to flex and fit to any sort of sound or meter, though she thought it only a human talent at the time. This gift helped her to navigate many different parts of her life, whether visiting her French grandparents on her mother’s side, or her black and Hispanic family on her father’s. From English to French to Spanish and back again, Melody developed a sharp gift for linguistics, and found a passion in singing in each.
Growing up with such a large, expansive family, there was hardly a dull moment. She loved being with so many others, encouraging them to sing and dance and play, and long after her siblings and cousins had tired out Melody still wanted to spend just one more hour outside, treading the streams behind her grandparent’s villa or climbing the neighborhood trees.
With her mother being a doctor, and her father the successful owner of an expanding bakery (masquerading at times as a musician in his own right), Melody was encouraged to learn and to express herself in equal measure. Though she was prone to bouts of oddity, to sudden streaks of wickedness and whimsy, her parents were very loving, for all that they didn’t entirely understand her. She, along with her four other siblings, often helped in running her father’s business, and still loves to get creative in the kitchen.
For the Beaulieu family, the kitchen is the heart of the home. Even with a mash of doctors, artists, mechanics, engineers, and down-on-their-luck family members, each branch of the family agrees on this. Melody comes with a very strict and loyal sense of family, and for those that she gets close to, this strong loyalty extends to them with ease.
With so many high-achievers in the family, it’s only natural that she would feel stressed, pressured to meet unspoken standards. Supportive as her family may be, failure is a shaming notion that has your name whispered disdainfully behind closed doors. Even with her high-strung anxiety over failures, Melody seemed to be well on her way, with a high-end scholarship to study theater arts.
Though her sudden appearance in the Never Never has enchanted her, threatened to push all ties to her human home from her mind, she still can’t shake her fears for her future.
Bran Barron played by TheBarbarian
Spoiler: Bran Barron
Name: Bran Barron
Age: 19
Appearance: A dark skinned young man with black curly hair worn in an afro and an impeccable sense of style. He is of medium height (about 1.78 meters) and build. Has soulful chocolate brown eyes. Has a nice smile but does not show it much. His signature look of vest, tie, nice jeans and a dress shirt almost rarely leaves him. His hat NEVER leaves him.
Species and Ability: Son of a leanan sídhe and a Creole artist. He has a human half brother still imprisoned by his mother. His main power is a strange charm that allows him to get away with things and convince people (especially members of the opposite sex) of things. If he develops a romantic connection he also can drain the person of their life energy while speeding their creative process up.
Personality: Bran at first glance is simply a very independent and talented young man who always seems to be working on some art project or another. It is unusual to find him just relaxing doing nothing even when waiting for the bus he is sketching something.
Bran has always preferred solitude to group outings. This is not to say he does not like people. He does. He is very kind and caring in his dealings with other people especially friends. Still among strangers he is private and reserved holding back most of his ideas and opinions about a subject when out with friends.
Soft spoken and unobtrusive in his speech and mannerism Bran gives off an aura of quiet charm. The quiet calm makes him seem confident and reserved even when his own feelings are in tumult. This comes from the fact that most of Brans ideas, fears, emotions, etc are internally focused and he rarely express them other than through his art or rarely to his friends.
Bran is driven in life by a strong moral code that was instilled in him by his grandfather. He has a very strong sense of what is right and what is wrong and won't do anything that cross that clear line for him. This even crosses over to his love of aesthetics and art he has a very clear concept of what he likes and what he does not like (however he does not think others are wrong when their ideas of beauty differ from his as subjectivity in art is what drives it).
There is a dark side to Bran however one that he has yet to confront. Whenever he has been in a romantic relationship (which although he does not actively look for happen quite frequently) he has always felt a feeling of dissatisfaction quite quickly. Even though usually the girls are the ones to seek him out he is always the one to leave them usually for someone new and interesting. The girls are left heartbroken, sometimes slightly mad and somehow drained as if Bran had taken something from them. And in the case of girls who preform music or do art like Bran himself their art always loses some spark when Bran moves on. This cold attitude has always been at odds with the rest of his personality and with his own moral values yet he has been unable to break this habit.
Brief Bio: Bran was born from the union of popular Creole artist Jean Barron and a leanan sídhe. They met at his first big exhibition showing his art deco influenced paintings depicting different Louisiana and Haitian voodoo rites, practitioners and deities. There apparently while talking to different friends he met an unnamed Irish woman who was very intrested in his paintings. He fell head over heel in love with her the instant she saw her. Thus began a tumultuous love affair that lasted a year. The friends who saw them during this time told tales of how the woman had complete control over his life. He also seemed to be in a constant euphoric state as if hopped up on some drugs. That year is seen as when his fathers best work was made. The quantity and quality of his paintings increased ten fold. He was set to become the poster child for 20th century Creole art. Before that could happen however he died from what the doctors later deemed exhaustion and heart failure. Before Jean had met Bran's mother he had fooled around with a girl from the slums where he painted. This girl had had a baby about three months before Jean's death she attributed to him. She had been trying to get him to pay her now that he had become so famous and rich. His death put a hold on that. However Bran's mother saw this as a perfect opportunity to get rid of her own get. Two weeks after Jeans death she switched the two boys and dissapeared back to fairy with the human babe. The woman Bran thought in later life to be his mother raised him until he was two and then left him at his grandparents doorstep unable and unwilling to continue raising the boy.
His grandparents took Bran in and raised him as their own. His childhood was a happy one with a big family around him. His father had many brothers and sisters and they along with their children would be regular visitors to his grandparents house. Even though from an early age Bran preferred being alone to running around the block with his younger and older cousins he still came to love the baseball games him and his cousins played every weekend. That tradition even made him join little league as soon as he first went to school.
That might have been one of the only good things about school for Bran. School always felt restricting and boring. Anything remotely interesting could he would study himself from books and the web. While anything not particularly interesting he just did not even try to learn. This slightly changed when they started third grade art class. Previously art had not held much interest for Bran but this all changed in Miss. Thunders class. While the other teachers had been restrictive in what they let kids draw Miss. Thunder was much the opposite she just gave kids a general theme and let them use whatever tools they wished for. It soon became Brans favorite class and he started practicing drawing at home with charcoal. He soon drew not only for class but himself as well.
Thirteen was an important date in Brans life. It was when he got his first official girlfriend. It was Jenny Pierce who was a very pretty pianist a whole two years older than him. They dated for three months or so before Bran found Vivian the girl who ran the art club. The turn over rate of girlfriends has never slowed.
Bran finally dropped baseball as a side hobby at 17 he did this to only concentrate on his art. He still favored very stark and beautiful charcoal drawings but began to take in more and more other styles. Finally at 18 he had a small gallery host an exhibition of his art. It went really well he got noticed by a art professor from the New York School of Visual Arts who told him he should try for a position next year. That was to be the plan, but something drew him to the Never Never a place he did not even know existed before that moment.
Aelwen Blevins played by Nightwish

Name: Aelwen Blevins
Age: 19
Appearance: She is very fair skinned and is sensitive to harsh conditions. She has light blonde hair and dark blue eyes. She is 5'11 and is very skinny for her height. She loves fruits and vegetables and to run. She has average breast size and torso width. Her fingers are long and slender. Her lips are a light pink color and her eyelashes are longer than normal and enhance her eyes nicely.
She prefers to be in fashion and look radiant. She uses only minimal make-up to touch up her already good-looking features. She wears her skin proudly and let's others know her expectations. She only dates those whom she deems worthy, and it should go without saying no one has met her standards yet. She usually keeps her long hair down to show off its shine and beauty.
She is very healthy and jogs daily. She makes sure she feels and is just as amazing as she looks. She usually wears clothes that show off her natural curves that are neither too curvy or not enough.
Species and Ability: Tylwyth Teg. She can turn invisible and pass through dimensions, but both of these abilities drain her greatly. She can also foresee some future events, but she cannot control this ability.
Personality: Aelwen is very confident with herself and others. She can be a bit flirtatious at times but will back out if things get too serious for her liking. She is sweet to her friends but can be heartless and cruel when necessary. She prefers to be popular over smart or kind. She loves being the center of attention and hates for someone to steal her spotlight. She does hold grudges and can get very nasty when provoked.
Aelwen isn't all bad though. She doesn't bully those who don't deserve it and she befriends everyone including the unpopular kids. She is very seductive and knows how to make herself look like the best girl in the world. She does read some but mostly the books are romance novels. She dreams of having the perfect romance with a perfect gentlemen. She often fantasizes her future life and dreams of what she will be.
Aelwen loves animals and children. She loves to babysit and take care of people's pets. She adores nature and loves to dance outside in the summer. Speaking of dancing she is always the life of any party and livens up a room merely by being in it.
Brief Bio:
Aelwen was raised as an only child and as such she was very spoiled and coddled. By the time she was a year old she had learned that anything she wanted she only had to ask. She was always given the best that life had to offer as her parents were pretty wealthy. When she was five they moved into a large house where she had a personal nanny as her parents were becoming too busy for her with their work.
Aelwen's nanny became her only friend when she was young. The nanny was very understanding and kind, but she was very old and lived inside their house. One morning Aelwen woke up and went to go see her only to find that she wouldn't wake up. That was her first death and she took it really hard. The rest of that year she remained inside and didn't play, she only looked outside and cried. All the new nanny's her parents tried out couldn't cheer her up.
Finally, once school started she had begun to turn back into her old self. She quickly rose to the top of the social ladder and found her place their. She became more playful and more talkative. She began to learn dancing and singing. She even tried her hand at art for a while. Her confidence had never shown brighter. She remained this way throughout all of the rest of her school years.
After she graduated she decided to take a year to rest from school before going to college. So she attended many social events and practiced her dancing. Aelwen became the jewel of the town making an appearance at all the gatherings and making an effort to have herself be known by everyone.
Marius Brandvold played by Avalon Hoef
Spoiler: Marius Brandvold
Appearance: Marius Brandvold stands at roughly 6’5 and is lean and fit for a Norwegian of his stature. Marius’s hair is always slicked back to symbolize the sleekness on a fishes skin. He is a Caucasian and his eyes are a deep shade of emerald with a hint of blue mixed in to give it that watery feel. Since he’s part serpentine he does have some scales splotched here and there [His back and shoulders] on his skin, but they’re hardly noticeable since he tends to keep them hidden [and he only swims by himself on occasion]
Species and Ability: Marius is a born sea serpent. He is able to swim nonstop for three hours before feeling the effects of fatigue and he is able to hold his breath underwater for at five minutes before needing to come back up for air. [Note: When he gains enough speed in the water he’s able to swim like a Sea Serpent but that’s rare and it tires him out easily]
Personality: Marius isn’t entirely strange in the accord of another person, but he does have trouble speaking a different language that isn’t Norwegian or American. He’s very dedicated to bettering himself as a swimmer and would honestly speak about how much he loves to swim or how much he loves the smell of the ocean. This love for the sea does get in the way of his actions and decisions. He tends to be socially incorrect and does verbally butcher American English [he’s still learning to speak American English even at this time]. He doesn’t really like social interactions, and tends to seclude himself to bodies of water [whether it be a pond, a puddle or the even the ocean]. He feels more “at home” when he’s around the sea and will often times drift out at sea only to come back later fresh and ready to go.
Marius, as a person, is a rather fun guy to be around. He’s socially awkward and he tends to be quirky about the things he does on a daily basis. Even though he himself doesn’t like to be around people [which is a contradictory that he cannot control] all that much. He starts to get a little anxious when he is away from water and so in order to sustain that anxiety he always carries a water bottle where he goes. He is never without a water bottle. He’ll occasionally read about how to speak American English and tends to read more intelligent books signaling that he is intelligent. However he is a bit slow when coming up with ideas that fit the situation. Overall Marius is a strange person to talk to, but interesting nonetheless.
Brief Bio: Marius, being born under the Sea Serpent, was a natural born swimmer [to a higher degree]. He was abandon by his father who then died because of a freak car accident that young Marius believed was not an accident but rather a murder [however he’ll truly know what happened on that day]. Having been left to his mother, as a widow, Marius was only good at swimming was no genius like his father. So his mother decided that he would sign Marius up for some Norwegian swimming program that would test his skills at daily competitions. It was around this time that Marius discovered that he was a Sea Serpent for he had no knowledge of it before [young minds]. Young Marius was a tall child for his age and competed in kitty swimming competition that sometimes won him money for his mother. However at home it was a different ordeal all together. His mother, no matter how much she smiled, was struck with deep depression over her husband’s death and would heavily mourn his death by sitting in his favorite chair day in and day out. Marius, coming home from school every day, would speak to his mother about her shortcomings and try to cheer her up, but it would prove to be a futile endeavor for he would be casted aside like a sheep being shaved of its wool.
Marius, at this age, would try to help his depressed mother, but it would always end in failure and before long his mother grown so tired of it that she struck him on multiple occasions. This is why he doesn’t like speaking with people as much as he did back in the day. After being struck by his mother countless Marius just gave up and returned to his daily routine of school, swimming pool and dinner. That’s how it was for the next seven years with some events playing out here and there throughout the years. By the time he was eleven he had elongated his swimming time and was already doing at least fifty laps within an hour and so forth. And around this time that his mother had died via suicide; depression had gotten to her before Marius even had a chance to say goodbye. Marius was made an orphanage at the age of twelve after going on with life for a year keeping his mother’s corpse in his father’s chair with the police eventually finding him sleeping with his mother’s corpse.
Marius traveled through many orphanages and eventually found a family when he was sixteen and settled with that family. He found it peaceful within this family and by this time he grown accustom to his new living environment and style. Thus his life was looking up for the better. He has received good grades in highschool and now he’s finally out and about. He decided to participate in major swimming competitions throughout the country [America] and has nearly won each one. Returning to the town of his passing he came across a group of people whom he would call friends and by then he would be met with something that was beyond him.

Name: James Akane
Age: 17
Appearance: James is tall and pale, often wearing Light cloths, He never tans. He has Black hair, and has brown eyes. He Blends in with snow really well. He stands around 5'9" and is around 135 lb, his is thin as a rail, he is often confused with someone with hypothermia
Species and Ability: Yuki-onna, Snow hag, He has the ability to make small hail stones (Up to the size of a golf ball), Or One very large hail stone, (Bowling ball size).he is very resident to cold, drawback is he can't stand heat above 60ish. The words for the hail stone spell is "Yein gol Bo" Meaning Hail stone fly[Later ability will include: Strike fear via eye contact, very cold breath.]
Personality: James is a kind Person, however he has his mothers temper, and will freeze a small areas when mad. He is helpful to other people, or trys to be with mixed results.
Brief Bio: James Is the son of a wizard named Edward Akane who is skilled with Holomancy( the ability to project images). He has a (Half)sister Named Elsa (No, she still doesn't want to build a snow man). He was left at his father's door, His father taught him The laws of magic, and how to control some of his power. Elsa Is 5 years younger then him and is starting to come into her power, Her ability is Shields. James has only lost his temper only twice in the past ten years.
Alana Housand played by Sparkz
Spoiler: Alana Housand
She's 5'6'', slim and delicate looking. To normal humans, she is way above average in looks. She likes to comb her fingers through her hair when she's nervous. When she's mad, she doesn't show it except in the way she cocks her hip and toss her hair over her shoulder with a tense smile on her face.
Species and Ability: Siren, like the ones from Greek mythology. She can give people strong suggestions with her voice, making them do what she tells them to. This only works on people with weak minds or who are enchanted by her beauty. Once she returned to the Never Never, her powers would grow.
Personality: Alana is a flirt and likes to mess with people's heads. She tends to leave out the truth or bend it in such a way that it isn't a lie. She cheery and always has a smile, whether it be a happy one or a mischievous one, on her face. Alana tends to use people for her own gain, even from a young age. She's very charismatic and people tend to like her. She's broken tons of hearts just because she can. She can also be a trouble maker at times when she's bored.
Brief Bio: Alana was born a to a Siren and an unsuspecting millionaire who never knew that she existed. She was switched with the sickly child of Tom and Martha Housand. Tom is the police chief and his wife is a second grade school teacher who lived in a small town in Wisconsin. She was an only child and thus very spoiled. At home, she knew that she could get her with a little bit of asking even at a young age. As she got older, her behavior only got worse. In middle school, she began to shoplift and her dad was able to get her out of trouble. She then started using her charisma to convince guys to buy her things with a little bit of flirting.
Once she got to high school, she seemed to settle down and mature a little. She joined the cheer squad and enjoyed all the perks that came with being one of the most popular girls in her class. She went on numerous dates and often got her dates to do her homework. By this time, her parents gave up trying to settle her down. One day, she got caught with the wrong crowd and got arrested. Her dad got her out of trouble, but promised her that it would be the last time and that she better start acting like a mature adult. After that, she did start behaving and had quit (mostly) using people. She just regained the full trust of everyone when she found herself in the Never Never.
