It is ending. Thousands of years of progress is finally being wiped away. Humanity is on the brink of extinction, fewer than a fifth of the world's population remains now, in isolated communities that shine like points of light in the darkness. But the lights wink out one by one as the days go by. How much longer can we last?

it started two centuries ago, at the start of the new millennium. The great civilizations of mankind shone into the depth of space. technology advancing at a rate ever we could not predict. but all things come to an end.

At midnight, a meteor struck the earth, almost cracking it open. Millions died from the ensuing cataclysms that arose from this event, but that paled in comparison to the next events. The Earth, our mother and our home, rebelled against us. Beasts rose up and took on humanoid form, plants raged out against the constructs of man, and our technology stopped working completely. We fought back as best we could, but these beastmen were stronger and faster than we could ever be. We were brought to the edge, but the end was not yet.

A man, a single man rose up, and he brought with him an army of men and women with him. These men and women had power, power like no man ever could have, even with all his technology. They had broken their own barriers and tapped into the true hidden potential that we all have in us. They fought the beastmen on even terms, ever driving them back. many died, but more stepped up to join them. The darkness was on its heels as a new civilization, a united human race stood up and joined together. The spark of courage created by this one man, ignited the fire of hope.

But all flames fade, and even now, there are only embers. For, even as the Human race was victorius, the Man's closest ally betrayed him, having joined with the corrupted earth, and broke the back of the human army, driving them back. But even then, it was not the end, for, as his last action, the Man used what little power he had to unlock the hearts of all mankind, and allows everyone to break their own barriers, and become like his warriors, if only they try.

And many did stand, but never did anyone like the Man appear, and Humanity has fought a losing battle, and now, they are in their final hour. But even then, the flame of hope smolders. Will you be the one to ignite it?

Spoiler: History in a nutshell 

At the start of the new Millennium, a meteor hit the earth. When it did, it awoke the ancient primal spirit of Gaia that had been slumbering since the Dawn of man. When she awoke and saw how man had so corrupted her once verdant world, she used her power to fight back, twisting her creations and forming them into weapons. She used her magic in an attempt to cleanse the world of mankind, and it almost succeeded.

But then a mysterious figure arose. He was both old and young, both human and yet not. He showed man how to awaken the magic that lies within us all, how to tap into the power that we once had, but lost as we became dependent on technology. He led these men and women who followed them, becoming their King, and with their power, he fought back, eventually cleansing most of the world, and setting himself up as the ruler. But it was not to be.

For, even as he led his army to the home of Gaia herself, his greatest general, Horace, rebelled, and took half of the army with him, and there, they fought a great battle. Horace and his fallen warriors were defeated, in the end, but at great cost. The King had been mortally wounded, and not even the greatest healers among them could stall his death. As his last action, he used the rest of his power to seed mankind with the ability to awaken this power within them themselves, although they'd never be as powerful as the ones he awoke personally.

We find ourselves several centuries in the future, the old world is nothing but ruins now, and none alive remember how it was before the beastmen. Every day is a struggle to find food, and to just survive.

Spoiler: The Warriors of Heart 

They shall be my finest warriors, these men and women who give of themselves to me. Like clay I shall mould them, and in the furnace of war forge them. They will be of iron will and steely muscle. In great armour shall I clad them and with the mightiest powers will they be armed. They will be untouched by plague or disease, no sickness will blight them. They will have tactics and strategies so that no foe can best them in battle. They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are my Warriors and they shall know no fear.

The warriors that followed the Man were people, just like you and me. The difference between them and us, is that they had had their own personal mental and spiritual barriers broken, allowing themselves to reach their full potential by holding on to the 3 primal human virtues of Courage, Compassion, and Ambition.

Those that took up the mantle of Courage became Cavaliers, warriors of the physical aspect. These may have been police officers, or Soldiers in an army, fire fighters, national guardsmen, or just someone who stood up for the little guy. They found that their physical bodies had become perfected, and their prowess in arms had grown to the point where they could pick any weapon, and they'd be good with it, including their own bodies. They are the bravest of the brave, going up against the darkest and most powerful monsters without hesitation to protect those that cannot protect themselves, like romanticized knights of yore.

Those that bear the burden of Compassion become menders, warriors of the emotional aspect. These may have been priests, doctors, nurses, or even just people who volunteered often. They've found that their very touch is healing, and they are at most in touch with the emotions of others, mending things, even someone mental state, with relative ease. But these are not pushovers, for they too can fight. They draw on their own ability to feel empathy and forge weapons of light created by the love they share for all mankind. These they use to slay those that would harm the innocent, like clerics or paladins of fantasy.

Those that carry the fires of ambition in their hearts become Pyromancers, warriors of the mental aspect. These may have been scholars, scientists, students, or anyone who loves learning. They've found that just as the torch of knowledge had given them purpose, in their hands, the flame bears purpose as well. They can create and wield fire with motions of their hands, weaving it just as a seamstress working a loom weaves cloth, using it to burn away corruption and ignorance. This they use to protect humanity and keep them from regressing nay further.

On his deathbed, the Man used the last of his power to unlock the potential of every human being left. But this was not like how he did with the originals. he broke their barriers, and gave them a fraction of his power, ensuring that they could continue fighting until they died in combat. But only he could do this, and, as such, those that awoke after his death, not only could not reach the level of power that the originals could, they eventually found that constant use of their power burned their soul away to nothing, leaving them hollow shells of themselves, a walking vegetative state viewed as worse that death, for being hollow like that allows much darker things to enter, and man quickly found that their former allies had become the monsters that they once fought.

But it is the only way, and every Warrior knows their eventual fate and fights anyway, for it is their duty, and they stand, they Hold the Line, or die trying.

Name: Lynsey Sinnsadore

Appearance: She is 5'4" tall. She as wavy blonde hair that goes to her waist. Her eyes are a bright ocean blue. She is slightly muscular, working out every single day but she doesn't like to fight, so she has taken to become a healer, trying to become one with nature once more.
Virtue: Compassion
Style: Mender - Typically a healer. My light typically takes the form of a staff that can heal with a simple touch and a simple word.
Bio: She was born and the abandoned. She was raised by a group who had shown her how to unlock what she could do and she has practiced every day since. She is a good healer, but could still use a little more practice now. Lynsey was never in need of anything and always wanted very little. She wanted to love animals, but every one she came across has tried to harm her and since then, she just stays clear now of everything, sticking to what she knows. She has been secretly trying her hand at combat, and to her surprise, finds she isn't terrible at that either.

Bio: Torstein's father was a fighter, doing his best to keep what remained of humanity alive. When he was barely nineteen Torstein saw his father cut down by a beast. Torstein managed to make his way to his father. One beast was about to strike Torstein down, but was not expecting what happened next. He grabbed his father's axe and dug it into his foe. He cut the beast down and (with help) dragged his father back to safety.

For several months after that, Torstein trained to join the ranks of humanity's warriors.

Virtue: Cavaliers

Style: Seen in appearance picture, katanas. While normally only used as a single blade, will, in times of desperation, unsheath a second blade stored on his back.

Bio: In a war torn world, growing up is never easy. So Scott learned how to fight. His father was a Cavalier, and a so he followed the same path, following it with ease. With each passing day, Scott trained harder and harder. With the death of his parents at the age of 19, Scott works as best as he can to help the town he now lives in, fighting back the darkness that threatens to consume Earth, and Humanity with it.

Style: When manipulating flames, typically forms a cyclonic vortex (mini tornado) in the area creating flames. Concentrates on encompassing the area she desires flames when creating campfires (small and very confined vortex) to bonfires (larger and more expansive vortex). When battling evil, she encompasses her target/opponent within the vortex, as the vortex grows more confined, the target typically gets incinerated. Such actions do come with a cost. Single actions weaken her however more wide attacks could cause her to be extremely weak and have nose bleeds. Each large action takes her longer to recover from.

Bio: Denise's father was a Professor and spent his days studying weaknesses within the beasts which roamed the remnants of the Earth and her mother was a historical scholar and subject matter expert on what was known of Earth prior to the meteor strike. Denise is bright and always seeking more knowledge and how to apply it toward building communities she travels to. She learned early how to craft fire for bringing warmth on the coldest of winter days and nights. She seemed to have a sense about areas to avoid due to beasts or plants what would be deadly to humans.

At the age of 21, she and her parents were traveling to a new community when she had an overwhelming sense of fear. Moments later they were attacked by hideous beasts. Her mother was killed before anyone could yell out. Her father tried to raise a wall of fire to hold back the beasts as he had always taught her not to take life as it was all precious in it's own way even though she never subscribed to that way of thinking. As her father was decapitated and she stood close to her dead parents being surrounded by slowly closing in beasts, her sense of terror was replaced by anger and rage. Concentrating on the remaining flames her father created, she screamed out in agony and rage while she subconsciously brought a massive flaming cyclone which engulfed the beasts. From that day forward she viewed the beasts that threatened human life as something that needed to be cleansed from the Earth.

She continues to seek all the knowledge she can, never satisfied with what she knows, always trying to learn more. She is a very friendly and outgoing woman and appears to be deeply caring and loving toward those she meets and those in need. When she encounters evil (Beasts or Human), her personality changes from sweet, loving and caring to nightmare bitch from hell in a heartbeat.
