Grave of the Fireflies is definitely the bringer of tears.

    A few others would be:
    Clannad
    Clannad Afterstory
    Kanon
    Air

    They were also pretty sad.

Gabe, you disappoint me. There's a difference between a movie done in the style of Japanese animation and an Anime. An anime is a serial like a TV show or something like an OVA.

Not true. Movies like Howl's moving castle, Spirited away and Grave of the Fireflies is also part of the Anime genre.

    Spoiler: Latest Work: Apocalypse

This is true! But they are NOT an Anime. They are part of the Genre but they are not called AN Anime. They are called Movies, or Anime Movies.

So? I'm guessing that since the creator of the topic mentioned a movie, this topic includes all parts of the anime genre, and not just anime series. Gabe never specified what sort of anime you could say, he just said anime.

    Spoiler: Latest Work: Apocalypse

Well I'm not sure if this counts but the Manga for Elfin Lied had me crying my eyes out at the end (the anime was pretty sad to).

I agree, it really almost made me cry. The saddest anime I've EVER seen. But such a beautiful movie!

    It's a tie for me.

All purpose Culural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku. That such a cliche storm would actually get made, imported, and even popularised more than the original that is a "dark and edgy" spinofff of makes me cry.

Stratos 4. It had such potentail for being a refrigerator series: one of Code Gease magntiiude. But instead, it's just an obscure sci fi series with a classic sports style plot and vast quanities of lesbain subtext.

The only work to make me genuinely cry was Bridge to Terabithia; its kinda hard for fiction to move me. Sorry.

I'm back, ya'll. The only new thing I guess you all need to know about me is that I identify as female. If it raises any questions, I'll be glad to answer them. My intention isn't to weird anybody out or anything; I feel I have do this. If you just forget, or just say that I'm a male no matter what, I ain't gonna be mad. Heck, even with the later, I would probably still gladly rp with you. We are on the interwebs, it's cool. I just hope you'll be chill too. Thanks!
