Diana kisses Val. "I know sweetie. Enyo was controlling you. But she's gone now."
'Really gone? D-Did daddy kill her?'
Diana stops. "Val... Daddy fulfilled a vow that I made back when Enyo killed grandpa."
'What's that?'
DIana looks at her. "I'll tell you when you're older."
She frowned a bit but then nodded. 'Okay...' she wiped her eyes and looked at Mike, but she didn't have any words.
Mike hugs Val tightly. Diana watched her children comfort each other. She looks at her ring and sighs. She just got back... and now she was on her own for who knows how long.
A little time went by, and every day the twins hoped to see their father when they came home from school. But they never did. Valentina started to wonder if he would ever return at all. One night, she got down on her knees by the side of her bed and prayed to Zeus, begging him to give Jake back to them.
Diana did her best to keep the twins' spirits up but it was getting harder and harder each time they came home. The way their faces fell when they came home to no dad broke her heart. Diana often cried herself to sleep, but she never told the twins that.
Mike would cry at night, dreaming about Jake.
Zeus heard Val's prayer. He was tempted to let Jake go early but he still had time to serve. His punishment was not complete.
