Jake stroked her hair, taking a deep breath. Difficult times lay ahead of them, but part of him was sure they would find their way through them. They had proved time and time again that they could handle anything as long as they were together, and they would do it again. They would not lose sight of their humanity. They would face the challenges head-on. And, most importantly; they would love each other. For ever.
