Default (OOC) Barrow of the Forgotten King: D&D [PG-13]

This RP is rated PG-13 for the following reasons:

Violence, language, intense moments, and a bit of possible sensuality.

You have been warned, venture forth at your own pearl....

The Dungeons & Dragons RP that I'll be running is one I actually own. It is a creation of another person so all credit of this creation goes to them and their publisher. No credit goes to me in any way.

    ----------Adventure Background-------------

The shovel clanged against rock, and its wielder snarled in frustration.
He shook his brown, furry hands and squinted up into the rain.
"Dig!" a clear voice came from above. "Dig, damn you, or I'll have you flayed alive!"
Deep in the pit, the varag warrior couldn't see the speaker, but he knew the smooth-skinned, silk-clothed fool all too well.
Clang! Another stone. After throwing down his shovel, the varag took a pull from his wineskin.
Time for a break, he thought.
A green orb shot out of the darkness bove, knocking the wineskin out of the varag's grasp.
Snarling in pain and rage, the warrior held his burned and and watched the wineskin disintegrate in a green pool.
Looking up, he saw the smooth-skinned spellcaster, and he grabbed his shovel and gripped it as if it were an axe.
And then he saw the eyes. Those eyes...
The varag turned back to the mud and the rock. He began to dig again.
    --------------
Kingsholm lies at the base of a series of rolling foothills. No
one knows how long the community has existed; Ian Turbrand,
the owner of the Coronet and Cabbage Inn, insists that
someone from his family has run the hostelry for more than
three hundred years. Kingsholm appears much like every
other town in the land, with one exception—its graveyard.
Built on and in the nearby hills, the graveyard has existed
for centuries. Some townsfolk believe the graveyard predates
the community, and nearly all the people living in
Kingsholm evince a particular pride in that fact. Prominent
individuals who die in Kingsholm have the honor of being
interred in the graveyard's mausoleum, the centerpiece of
the graveyard. Kingsholm's guards—known as sentinels—
patrol the graveyard almost as frequently as they patrol the
    community's streets.
The most notable feature of the graveyard actually lies a
little over a mile north of the town, high up in the hills. There
stands the statue of an ancient king. No one in Kingsholm
knows who he was or why the statue was erected there, but
the townsfolk live in awe of the monument. Indeed, while
the common folk have no fear of their maintained graveyard,
few venture up to visit the forgotten king.
    ------------
Two days ago, a family of mourners ventured up into the
graveyard and didn't return. A pair of sentinels investigated,
but these guards vanished as well. The townsfolk are in a
panic. They've always heard rumors of disturbances in graveyards
and tombs, but never has such misfortune struck

If this is your first taste of a Dungeons and Dragons RP, don't worry, I'll give you as much information as possible about characters, races, classes, weapons, armor, and all the fun things in the world. Granted it will be a lot of information to process but don't let it scare you away. Once all is said and done, you will can join and be part of a adventuring party where rewards and riches will be awaiting around every possible turn.To let you all know at this point, this will be a RP where dice will come into play. If you haven't noticed already, RPA does have a dice rolling system which can be seen and explained here, just click the link below.....

I know what you are asking, what does the "d" mean in the format. The "d" means "dice" or "die", the number that follows is the amount of sides on the die. Example, your average dice you use that go from 1 to 6 are called d6's.

The dice that will be used in this RP is standard D&D based....d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20. If I am missing any, I'll update this part.

Anyways....to the brass of learning Dungeons and Dragons. All the information I will be pulling out of the D&D Players Handbook Version 3.5 (yea I know it isn't up to date, but it's all I got )

    Spoiler: Leveling

Granted this is the first true attempt that I know of a simi-legit try at a Dungeons and Dragons RP that is as close to the table top game as possible, I will be leaving some of the finer details out like skills and feats. I will however have ability scores out (will explain those) as well as saving throws for traps and various other things I may throw at you all. For those who know D&D, you know of "Rolling Initiative" or "seeing who goes first in combat" That will not be done as it will be a first come first served type thing.

As for combat. One player can't say they charge all six creators and swing their massive axe at them....no...you will be allowed three attacks/movements (I know a bit much and it will increase depending on the level of your character) but other than that, you won't be able to do anything. When you attack, you will have to state you are swinging at a specific creature, and roll separate dice multiple times.

In combat, your character will take damage, and with that comes the possibility of death. When your character reaches 0 (zero) health, they are not dead. They are only able to do half the things they once were able until they rest or are healed. If they continue to take damage, they will drop into the negatives. If they reach negative ten (-10) health, they are dead and can't return to the party. Sorry, it is sad but it is in the rules and I will follow that until they change it. (as far as I know, they haven't)

May I play a Neutral Good Paladin? Now, before you shout it down saying 'Paladins must be lawful', I present to you this. I am choosing to serve Pelor. Pelor is not a lawful good god, he does not agree with the lawful good way of life. therefore, his servants would not be lawful good. Am I correct?

Word for word from the book. "Paladins must be lawful good, and they lose their divine powers if they deviate from that alignment. Additionally paladins swear to follow a code of conduct that is in line with lawfulness and goodness."

If a Paladin isn't "Lawful Good", they just become fighters....I'm sorry but the book stands. Even the Game Rule Information states "Alignment: Lawful Good"....sorry Cfavano.

As for your physical dice....I'll try to trust you but if I ask you to display a dice roll, use the format that is used for this site please. If I think you are lying (hope not) I'll also ask you to use the format from then on.

Hi there this looks interesting. Can I ask will there be any time-limit for people to take their turns? Reason I ask is I have done this type of game before and I know that waiting for the outcome of dice means a slightly slower pace, especially in combat rounds where it may take someone several turns simply to kill an orc or single opponent.

If some decides not to take their turn, they will be skipped over, simple. I don't want this RP to become stagnant. If it is taking too long to kill a specific opponent, I'll use GM/DM magic so no worries on that end. I've ran D&D campaigns in real life and they become hectic when luck isn't on your side so don't worry about it.

Given how there are things that had to be explained to people that don't know how to play D&D, there is no need for this to be "spruced up". Not to mention, your comment was pure negativity...... o.o not to mention rude.

With something like that, I'd simply tell the player to add specific things to their character sheet. I just got tired of typing and explain things. If they didn't get what I tried to explain than I'm more than willing to explain. Besides, I stated the "allowed attribute points". Not to mention, I could have said screw it and uploaded a Players Handbook PDF up and say "Read This", I just put up the meat and potatoes, not the place setting, the pretty flowers on the table, and the lite candles.

I understand what you stated, but all that added info, like I said will be told to the player after they submitted a character sheet.
