Name: Karen Miah Mazillo
Age: It’s very rude to ask a lady her age. But, she claims to be 49 (lies!)
Gender: Female
Nickname:
Preferred Weapon: Her lucky revolver
Motorcycle: Side-valve K model Harley
Traits: Loyal, strong, cunning, sharp, blunt and loving.
Personality: Karen is probably the coldest person you will meet in your life time. Her eyes seem to rip into your soul with an angry fire behind them and her words cut like knives. She speaks first and most likely won’t think about it second. Her blunt honesty sometimes comes across as bitchy, but she could care less. The opinions of others, with the exception of her son, don’t matter to her and never will. Karen is extremely stubborn so if your ideas differ from hers you better prepare to have the biggest battle of your life, because this old biker won’t budge. Of course she has a soft spot, everyone does, and that just so happens to be her family. Both the club and her two sons will always be held high on her list and she would do just about anything for them. Hurt any member of her club and you will pay the ultimate price.
Romance: None yet.
History: Imagine leaving a place that you grew up in, had family in, found your lover, had a family and experienced so much in. Imagine leaving your old life behind and starting a new life in a strange and foreign place, you don’t know anyone, all you have is what you can carry, and everyone speaks a different language than you. The whole idea shook Karen to the core. How would she raise a child, a new born child, in a completely strange country? But her husband was very adamant about traveling to America, he said that it would change their life for the better and their son wouldn’t have to struggle like they did. America offered so much more than their home country did, so by their faith and bravery they decided to travel over to America.
New York was
very different compared to home. They lived in a tiny apartment on the busiest side of the city. Her husband immediately started work at this plant and made the lowest amount of income, lower than they had expected. All of their money went to bills, food and clothes for their little boy. Karen was unhappy with how things were going, but they were stuck and had no other choice than to toughen up and work through it.
When Henry was old enough Karen went back to work to bring in some extra money. She worked from home, turning their living room into her alterations office she tailored clothes for the city and even made a few dresses of her own. They started to make a little more money and life was going good for them, they weren’t living the American dream they thought they would be living, but they were surviving and that’s all that matter to the small family of three.
When Henry started acting out Karen didn’t think much of it, just blowing it off as teenage angst she ignored it and focused on providing for her family. But, his attitude and the trouble he brought with him didn’t seem to go away, it actually got worse as he got older. She never expected to have her son come home one day, tell her he was leaving and never see him for almost ten years.
Henry never said exactly why he had to leave, but he was a grown man and Karen could no longer keep him there. Years later her husband got very ill and began to wither away. Karen was working overtime with her small business and two side jobs at local diners to pay for medical bills. The love of her life had developed a brain tumor and was losing his battle very fast. She stayed by his side until he finally passed away a year after being diagnosed. Karen reached out to her son and after the funeral she moved out to Vegas to be with her boy and meet the club, her new extended family.
