IC : Camp Half Blood: Runaway Demigods
A group of Demigods decide they no longer enjoy life at Camp Half Blood. Why? Maybe they want to go on an exciting adventure, experience life outside the camp, or just don't fit in with the other campers.
After running away from camp, they go on a journey of a lifetime. Why are there more monsters chasing them then normal? And more importantly, why does it seem as if the mist is disappearing?
This is just a brief summary and a basic storyline, so that we can change it as we go to fit the characters. I might make an actual quest prophecy later if the plot progresses that far.
Rules:
-I'd prefer if you're active. The RP tends to get messed up when some characters are more active then others, and it's not fair if you're taking a long time to post.
-I'd also prefer if you know the Percy Jackson Series, or at least have a basic understanding of them.
-No canon characters. Please create your own!
-Make your characters unique, but not TOO unique. If you know what I mean. (I.e. purple eyes are a definite no)
-That's about it, I'll probably think of more later xD
-If you read this, put 'Mt. Olympus' at the bottom of your character sheet
-I'd rather not have very many children of Zeus, Poseidon, or Hades. It leads to a lot of fighting and isn't very realistic (or, as realistic as the books).
-Please try and make a character with just ONE godly parent and no really screwed up character histories/other that result in your character having an unrealistic 'power' or whatever.

Personality: Calem is a glutton for being a broken heart. He creates relationships and leaves a reason to escape commitment or makes the relationship crash and burn for.

Background/History: Calem grew up in Green Hill Vermont. With his father being a Parisian immigrant, Calem is bi-lingual with French and English. Calem grew up in America all his life with his single gay father, Frederick Dervarough. Freddy owns a photography studio in Vermont called the Green Hill Camera. Calem has had it rough for a while in school. Between having a gay father, being gay himself, and his learning disorders (ADHD and Dyslexia) there is a lot of material to pick on him from.
Green Hill was a small and close knit town, everyone knew everyone else and if you were different you were the focus of interested glances and annoyed glances. Freddy never quite understood just how his son came into being, but his story of it was he met a beautiful man from America in Paris. When Calem was fifteen Freddy told him the whole love story.
Freddy and mystery man spent their few months together like they were their last on Earth. Flowers and trips throughout Paris, cheesy dates under the tower, beautiful portraits taken by Freddy of mystery man (but they all conveniently disappeared or the face was too faded). Freddy prides himself on the fact that his son was actually his, having a DNA test done when the baby was left on his apartment balcony, with a letter explaining things, before the love of his life disappeared.
Calem really loved the story of how his fathers met, and it gave him hope that life isn't just asshat hick jocks and socialite country bitches. That hope screwed him over when he found out his first real boyfriend was actually a monster trying to kill him. After a mentally scarring run through the city at midnight, a satyr found Calem and slew the empusa. He sedated Calem and brought him to camp half blood, explaining to his father (with a little help from the mist) that he was chosen to go to a prestigious art school for photography.
(I have no idea i threw this no-detail-having-crap-fest together last minute)
Reason for leaving Camp Half Blood: Wants to find love, and who he really is in the process.
Other: Mind magic can't work on him. Magic that is meant to confuse his will, control his mind, or magically seduce him doesn't work. Example: Aphrodite's power to become whatever is most attractive to the person who sees her, doesn't work on Calem. If Apollo were to change his form and become Johnny Depp or something Calem couldn't tell the difference, and magic that controls the body like a puppet would work as well, but mind magic doesn't work.

Conri is about 6'0 tall, well proportioned with lean muscles that are steel due to the training he received at Camp Halfblood over the years. Like most sons of Poseidon, he has the typical green-blue eyes and dark, unruly hair that he usually hides under a beanie hat.
In his act of rebellion that is the essence of life for him, he has a pierced left ear and wears a simple stud earring of aquamarine. He has a tattoo on his rib cage that depicts a long, slithering dragon, the symbol of wisdom, power and fire. He doesn't dress to impress but similar to the Aphrodite kids, he constantly pulls off the ruggishly handsome look.
With a rather classical Roman profile (think Roman statues) of sharp cheekbones, a straight nose and high eyebrows, Conri resembles the Gods in his appearance more so than most. None the less, he never smiles and his eyes never light up with happiness. He has pale skin and doesn't like the sun, preferring the dark and thus being more nocturnal than average.
Personality: Conri is much like his father - he is protective of those he considers family and will do anything to keep them safe although the only person at camp who is his "brother" is Pippin. He is silent with a mood that shifts like the waves of the sea, easily going from happy to sad within a few moments. He shares his father's and uncle's pride, stubbornness and explosive temper although it takes a lot to make his truly angry.
Silent and secluded, he prefers the company of immortal beings and horses to that of other demigods. He is very gentle and soft spoken when it comes to talking to the creatures who are sacred to his godly relatives, a trait he inherits from his grandmother Aphrodite. Much like his mother, he doesn't take kindly to those who disrespect him but due to his past, he has started to be more compassionate though would never admit it.
Weapon: A celestial bronze spear that retracts into an external portable iphone battery. By pressing the button of the battery, the spear extends into its 2.7 meter form and with another click, becomes a regular object. Over the years, Conri has also recieved a bronze shield with a mirror like inside which helps him be aware of danger all around him, including his back.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Much like his father, Conri is a skilled and dangerous warrior while his life at Camp trained him to be excellent with his weapon of choice. He is decent with a short sword but has no skills or desires for anything that flies as he doesn't trust flight. Naturally comfortable in water and around horses, he is a terrific swimmer granted with quick healing in water, ability to breathe underneath the waves and control his father's domain to an extent though not as grand as his siblings. He also inherited some weak gifts from his grandmother in the form of limited charmspeak (he can slightly affect the emotions of others) and control of animals (he connects better to animals, especially mammals, able to understand and feel their emotions and basic desires if he develops a bond with them).
However, with great power comes great responsibility or fall backs. Conri is terrified of flying and men in uniforms, a subconscious fear of Zeus and Ares. He fears of suffocating and being unable to breathe, thus this leads to minor claustrophobia. His lack of connection and acceptance leads him to being scared of letting people close in order not to be hurt or to disappoint them. Because of his birth, he is looked down upon by the Olympians and thus it requires more power and energy for him to address the powers that flow in his blood. A big fear of his is also realizing that he is exactly what he had heard being whispered behind his back - a monster.
Fatal Flaw: Wanting to find acceptance
Background/History: Conri was born on Friday, June 13th to Lucy Muir in Glasgow, Scotland and Poseidon, god of the Sea. Although the pregnancy and birth were a regular deal and the boy was born healthy with nothing to dictate 'monster', that was exactly what was whispered around Lucy by her demigod friends and co-workers. Lucy was a daughter of Aphrodite, a native born Scottish lass who spent her summers in the states at Camp Half-Blood. Finishing school and wanting to give back to her community in Scotland, she joined the DCAPT - Demigods Coming of Age Protection Team. The DCAPT focused on helping satires find demigods at 11 and to teach them the sills needed to survive. Through donations, fundraisers and sponsorship from Mount Olympus, many of the DCAPT charges were also able to spend at least one summer in Camp Half-Blood to learn the skills they needed.
Due to her generous nature and beauty, Poseidon became infatuated with Lucy Muir and, disregarding the unspoken taboo of not sleeping with demigods, wooed the young woman. Lucy knew exactly what she was getting into and with who, being able to see beyond the mist, but the thrill of a forbidden romance swept her off her feet and nine months later, she gave birth to a boy who was at least in bloodlines, more immortal than human. Immediately, Zeus banned Poseidon from ever contacting the boy or Lucy, forcing punishment upon his older brother. The young demigod was also punished - her son was to be sent immediately to Camp Half-Blood and she was not to see him, communicating only through letters. Thus, at less than a year, Conri was installed in the spacious but empty cabin of Poseidon, cabin number 3.
Conri grew up at Camp Half-Blood, constantly shunned and silently avoided. Older campers whispered about the little boy, the Aphrodite kids being the meanest of all as they wanted no association with their nephew. All this made the young boy constantly try and become something he wasn't in order to be accepted but to no avail. Only the camp instructors dealt with him but even the adults that they were couldn't all keep their disgust at hand.
From an early age, Conri therefore started not to trust people and as much as he wanted to be accepted, he was scared. In fits of uncontrollable rage or fear, his powers magnified and became truly monstrous, the climbing wall usually taking a beating. After such an episode, the son of Poseidon would hide either in the lake or at the stable, crying and hating himself.
At fourteen, Conri met Pippin, a young demigod from Quebec, Canada with whom he bonded over horses. The young boy didn't seem to mind the brooding older teen, instead slowly drawing out conversations and telling him about the lands almost outside the demigod borders. Over the summer, Conri was able to control his temper better. Together, the boys got into trouble, playing pranks on cabins and simply relaxing. Conri couldn't believe that Pippin actually wanted to be his friend but, through Iris messages and tempest mail (all initiated by Pippin), the two kept in touch.
Summers flew by and each year, Conri and Pippin reunited at camp, ready for more mischief. Sometimes, Pippin would leave for a quest, bringing back stories of the world and the monsters out there. Conri himself never was chosen for a quest for multiple reasons - his unpredictability made him a threat to the mortals, his high content of godly blood, especially as strong as that of the Big Three would attract more monsters and there was no one past Pippin he would trust. So, as Conri grew up, he spent a lot of time in the forest, fighting with monsters there and honing his skills.
Reason for leaving Camp Half Blood: The need to find acceptance somewhere outside camp and to prove he is not a monster.
Other: Conri's names are various homages to symbols of his father - king, sea and horses being dominant.

Personality:
Enya doesn't trust people. She tries to stay away from big groups and when talked to can be rude and disrespectful. She is also agressive and many times reckless, but when you get to know her, and she trusts you, she is kind and quiet. Ready to protect her friends with her life.

Strengths:
Enya's strengths consist of being able to shot very well out of a bow. The ability to also hide and climb well in the wild and in camp. She also is a good fighter and is able to handle weapons and a sword, quite well.
Weaknesses:
Enyas weaknesses lie in communicating with people. She has a difficulty in keeping her emotions in check also, which is one of her weaknesses. Baking, is a no no for her, which just means that she is weak in that category. Enya knows nothing about baking and cooking. And then taking orders, and following them. This is her major weaknesses. She cannot follow orders, she nearly always goes against them.
Fatal Flaw:
Keeping her emotions in check. If she is angered, she will most likely either start a fight with you or just let out her heat. If scared, she will run. She is unable to control her emotions which can make her ruthless and reckless. And also taking orders, she won't take them.
Background/History:
Enya joined the Camp at around 5. During that time she had no friends and was inseparable from her bow. Most of her early years were spent in the training ring. Practicing shooting. At the age of 13 she finally made one friend, who later left Camp Halfblood, and never did return. This resulted in Enya shielding herself from people and becoming aggressive. From those days she has developed a perfect aim for her bow, and the problem of not making any friends.

Search for freedom. She enjoys being out tin the wild, surviving. Not in a Camp with rules.

Personality: Jackal is an odd kid. He likes people but since he smells like dead people, people tend not to like him. He tries to be nice but his attempts turn out bad. He can talk a lot, but normally is silent. He also has a weird interest in voodoo and dark magic.

Strengths/Weaknesses: He works better in the dark and can sense things of dark auras. He sometimes over do's his powers. He believes he was supposed to die 2 years ago so, he's afraid of dying and doesn't want to. He has nightmares of dying.
Fatal Flaw: Greed
Background/History: He had an average life in high school. Besides his ADHD and dyslexia, he was actually pretty smart. He first encountered monsters in the form of skeleton soldiers. Hades sent a hell hound to protect him ever since then. He arrived at camp half-blood at age 13.
Reason for leaving Camp Half Blood: A year after being in the camp his older sister died. It was strange because they were on a quest together. They fought a powerful mechanical beast it exploded. Jackal shielded his sister from the blast, but somehow he survived and she didn't. Ever since then he had nightmares about the event and dying in different ways. There were too many reminders at camp so he left. During his time at the camp he met a ghost who called himself Frank. Frank explained he knew a way to get stronger, so Jackal asked him to teach him. Frank began to teach him dark magic at age 14, and it's been two years since then.

Personality: Jay is a very shy guy, patient and calm. He usually is very quiet and thoughtful, a thinker. Always trying to evaluate the world and people. Jay has often been mistaken for a son of Athena, due to his love for strategy and intelligence. Making him angry is very hard, but if you do, run. He has no control over his anger if he is angered. Otherwise, you'll probably never notice that he is behind you or in your group.
Weapon: Throwing knives
Strengths/Weaknesses:
Jays strengths lie in shadowing. He has been known to shadow people, without them noticing that someone is trailing them. One of his other strengths are strategies and evaluating. Always with a book in hand, he has memorized hundreds of battle strategies and ways to kill someone, or to spy on someone. Most of them which he has never tried out in real life. One of his other talents, is cooking. sounds weird, but he cooks quite well.
Jay's weaknesses lie in-nearly everything. He can't climb, and is absolutely terrified of the water. In hand to hand combat he sucks, and even if he manages to hit the opponent one time, it's more likely he will hit his partner, not the bad guy.
Fatal Flaw: Trust issues.
Background/History: At the age of 5, his dad Zeus left their family, leaving the care of six children on his mothers shoulders. Unable to care for them all, she gave Jay away, to a foster family. For one year he was severally abused by his foster family, until he ran away. And was found in the forest next to the camp, half dead. Nursed back to help by the camp healers, he stayed there, and learned about his godly dad and his intelligence. The camp is where he has stayed the the next 12 years.
Reason for leaving Camp Half Blood: He wants to discover more of his talents, and look at the human world. Maybe meet his mom again.

Macy stands at 5'4, much to her dismay, and is very tiny, but muscular. What she lacks in height, she makes up for in agility and the ability to give extremely intimidating glares. The scowl usually on her innocent face is somewhat off putting as her appearance isn't particularly intimidating.

Similar to most daughters of Athena, Macy is an excellent strategist and fighter. But where most of her sisters were quiet and studious, Macy was loud and outspoken, often mistaken for a daughter of Ares. Her fiery and feisty personality gets her into trouble. She is often found arguing with other campers and challenging them to fights if they insult her in anyway. Macy may have a tough exterior, but she will easily trust anyone who can see through her facade. Although she is very clever, she has a hard time reading people. A perfectionist, Macy is easily frustrated when she isn't able to do something by herself.
Weapon: Macy mostly uses throwing knives, but is able to use a dagger for close combat. She believes her strategic mind is also considered a weapon.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Macy's strengths lie in her fighting ability. Her weaknesses are well hidden, but she has a fear of water and is angered too easily.
Fatal Flaw: Macy's fatal flaw is her stubbornness. She refuses to accept help from people and believes she can do everything herself, which gets her into sticky situations a lot.
Background/History: Macy has a loving father and step-mother, as well as a little sister. They are such a nice family that Macy feels as if she doesn't fit in with their 'perfect' image, resulting in her going to Camp Halfblood all year, instead of just the summer. Macy had a younger sister, but she drowned at the age of four, causing Macy's fear of water and reluctance to go near it. When she left to Camp Halfblood Macy was young, so she didn't have much time as a normal girl.
Reason for leaving Camp Half Blood: Macy has never been able to go on a quest, and she wants an adventure. She would never admit it, but she also has a small desire to live like a normal girl, without the problems of a Demi god.

Rissa loves to tease, but gets offended pretty easily. Usually seen with a bright smile on her face, she is always the first to point out the silver lining of a particularly bad situation. Rissa loves to give advice and help people figure out their problems, although she struggles with her own insecurities and is often unsure of her actions. The blonde is very easily influenced and often finds herself in tricky situations. Due to her blonde hair and bubbly nature many underestimate her intelligence. She loves to loosen up and have fun, which can sometimes be her downfall in a bad situation.
Weapon: Rissa mostly uses her brain and stealthy natures to fight her battles, but also carries around a gold dagger for protection.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Rissa's strengths are her stealthiness and ability to be very persuasive. Her physical weakness is her inability to use pretty much any weapon besides a dagger, but she also trusts others over herself which leads her to be easily influenced, good or bad.
Fatal Flaw: Trustworthiness
Background/History: Rissa lived with only her mother all her life. She didn't come to Camp Halfblood until the age of 13, so she doesn't have as much experience as many of her siblings. Rissa had been stealing to make ends meet since she was 10, but it didn't develop into something more dangerous until she was 13. The feeling of getting away with stealing without consequences along with peer pressure led her into a deep hole that she was unable to dig herself out of. Escaping her old life to Camp Halfblood gave her a new sense of morality, but she still doesn't believe herself to be a good person. Her attempts to cheer everyone up and help out are somewhat of a redemption for her, but she still isn't satisfied.

Pippin is not that tall, standing only about 5'8 but he is a muscular young man with ice-blue eyes and bright blonde hair that stands up without gel, almost as if frozen in place. More often than not, it is possible to find hay and dust in his locks as well as the sweet smell of horses lingering to his clothes. When he smiles, cute dimples appear on his cheeks. There is a faint scar running across his pale skin on the bridge of his nose from a snow boarding accident.
Being the son of the North Wind and thus closely associated with winter and snow, Pippin rarely wears shirts especially in the summer because he isn't sensitive to the cold. He never sweats and even after exercise, his body remains relatively cool. Because of this, Pippin is able to go swimming in the St. Lawrence river even in the midst of winter. He usually is dressed in a t-shirt and jeans when in camp though at home, he wears dress shirts and pants.
Personality: Pippin is usually a very easy going guy. He laughs, he smiles, he teases, he flirts. However, that is only one side, the one people at camp expect to see. When it comes to living at home or visiting his father in his ice palace in the clouds, Pippin is all business with short, to the point replies and half smiles, his eyes cold and sharp. And yet, there is still another face to the young demigod - one that no one really wants to see. Cold anger, uncontrollable, calculated and deadly, one that makes his eyes become captivating and make others freeze is fear as they look at him.
Pippin also follows his father's code of honor, family, trust. He doesn't like to break promises and thus he rarely gives any. Relationships are for quite a while and meaningful for him thus he rarely has girlfriends or friends, preferring companions, one time dates or casual things. And there is always an undeniable want to keep moving, to go where the wind takes him. Usually, Pippin will avoid any conflict or problem by constantly running from it but he will run eventually even when all is well. He loves the life of a nomad and a traveler, always the one with the best stories and the most captivating way of recounting them.
Weapon: Two long Celestial Bronze daggers that can be used for close combat or throwing and a ventus that Pippin keeps in a small crystal veil called Astrapi (Lightning in Greek) that was a gift from his father when he was claimed. The spirit comes in the for of a white horse made of cold Arctic wind and is too cold for any other demigods to touch or ride.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Swiftness and resistance to the weather changes, especially extreme cold are some of Pippin's main assets as well as his undeniable courage and need for an adventure. He can control air currents and has a very sensitive sense of smell. He is a very impressive rider that is why he, among pegasi and unicorns, can ride upon ventis like Astrapi. If he throws things, they always hit their mark. He loves heights and speed, has his licence for cars and small planes. Small abilities within the field of Cryokinesis (Frost Wind, cooling).
His inability to face problems leads to them blowing up in his face while his lack of constant presence frustrates quite a few. He may simply wander off in search of a personal adventure without telling anyone or just get bored of an adventure. His attention span is shorter than most and it takes quite a bit of concentration and energy to focus on things he doesn't want to.
Fatal Flaw: Inability to commit to anything for long and constantly wanting change
Background/History: Peregrine Walters was born on January 7th in the middle of a snow storm that cut the electricity of half the city however, the expensive hospital in the middle of Quebec City wasn't affected and at 07:13 am, a healthy boy was born to Alyssa Walters and her husband, Richard Gates. Upon being picked up by the nurse, the infant was almost immediately placed in an incubator for unlike all babies, he was born with a lower body temperature than usual. However, after a week of intense observation, the doctors could not determine the cause and both mother and child were released under strict orders to return if the boy's conditioned worsened.
Pippin grew up in a rich family where he was both spoiled and kept in tight chains. Unlike most demigods, his mother revealed his identity early on as Boreas was extremely near and not as bound as other gods in regards to seeing his only son. Thus, Pippin spent some holidays at his true father's castle, watching hockey with his older male cousins and being dotted by his cousin goddess. His human father had accepted the outcome since he married Alyssa when she was already pregnant though not knowing the true identity of the father.
Growing up, Pippin started horseback riding when he was three and could saddle a pony himself. From then on, he kept riding, being able to connect to horses like no other. He shared his passion for snowboarding with his father Rick and the pair would often spend weekends in the mountains, fooling around on boards, watched by Boreas' ventis. The boy was enrolled in elite schools and did moderately well though his teachers could never understand what kind of character he was, his personality swinging from professional to troublemaker without care.
French, English and Ancient Greek were mandatory as were constant exercises in track and field, swimming, fencing and martial art. The boy loved running and since he was 10, started jogging each day of the year without rest. His parents were all extremely proud of the young boy and, as he turned 11, his older cousin Khione started teaching him some basic winter magic. That summer was the first that his parents agreed to send him to Camp Half-Blood as strange things began happening.
At camp, Pippin was placed in cabin #23, the cabin of the winds since none of the five major wind gods had enough children for individual cabins. Inside was hell - all three warmer winds affected the climate of the cabin to resemble summer to the point that Pippin couldn't sleep. Thus, he relocated himself to the hay loft without caring much about protocol. In return for this, Chiron put him to mucking out the pegasi stalls three times a week and doing morning feedings. Pippin enjoyed the opportunity to spend time with animals he loved - this is how he met Conri.
Conri was older and seemingly confused but Pippin loved the bond the older boy has with the equines and immediately liked his story. He loved the energy that radiated from the taller boy and after trailing the son of Poseidon around, started to develop a bond of friendship. Creating some mischief around camp and sneaking out at night a few times, the two became close although it took a few summers till they considered each other best friends.
Every summer Pippin would spend at camp and go back to Quebec for the year, travelling when he could. At 15, he started to be interested in girls at camp, having flings here and there but things rarely lasted as Pippin wasn't interested in keeping long distance relationships. He still goes running each morning and has slowly been becoming more engaged with helping out at the stable. He is also now one of Chiron's favorites. None the less, as much as he loves Camp Half-Blood, he is ready for a new adventure and this time, he is taking Conri with him.

Other: The name 'Pippin' means traveler or journey, a fitting name for one who never stays in one place too long.

Personality (please don't say 'will find out in the RP'. At least put a small description): Rylouth prefers to live his life like how an archer kills his enemy. From far away. If he has a problem, he doesn't try to take it head on, he tries a different approach. If that doesn't work, he simply puts distance in and that will usually make it fine enough for him. He loves people, and he loves having friends, he's often considered a social butterfly, making friends with just about anyone that will allow him to.
Weapon: English Long Bow (much larger, and way more powerful than the standard long bow)
Strengths/Weaknesses: Has a very toned body due to the fact that he has to be able to use a bow from any location. Makes friends easy. Amazing Eye sight.
Tends to not deal with problems directly. Let's issues fester due to not wanting to confront people, and make them not like him. Care's about people's opinion.
Fatal Flaw: See's the good in everyone and places his trust in them all the time, even those who would hurt him.
Background/History: Due to growing up with not a lot of people liking him (partially due to the handicap of being a half-blood without knowing it) he always wanted friends and never found them until he turned twelve where he was transferred to camp half-blood as an all year student. This decision was made by both him and his mom, for they both thought it would be better if he was there where he could learn to protect himself and be safe. Of course he only wanted to learn how to be safe and then he wanted to live a normal life.

Personality (please don't say 'will find out in the RP'. At least put a small description): Loves to think things through, tends to judge people and what they bring to the table. People who don't bring much she tends not to like while people who bring certain key things that are needed she tends to like more. When it comes to her friends shes very protective and friendly but to strangers she can be quite cold.
Weapon: Bow, two small daggers.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Strengths: Tactiful, Athletic, Precise, makes the best decision quickly. Weaknesses: Trusts very slowly, suspects people who aren't friends of automatically being evil, taking orders instead of giving them.
Fatal Flaw: Huge Trust Issues. Only trusts her friends, if you're not her friend, no matter what you have done she won't trust you.
Background/History: She joined camp half blood at an early age of five. Since then she has made friends with few people, not even making complete friends with her cabin mates. Most of her early life due to her being young, was spent reading and studying war strategies used through out history. When she was about ten she started weapon practice but still wasn't allowed in capture the flag events. When she was thirteen she joined the capture the flag events. It only took a few sessions for her cabin mates to realize that Sheeria was a genius when it came to tactics. That and she didn't take orders well.
Reason for leaving Camp Half Blood: Wants to explore the world in order to gain more knowledge and to gain fame as a fierce tactician.
Other: Uses two weapons. Prefers to use her daggers. Is good with a bow, but not as good as the huntresses or as the Apollo kids.
