Deus Ex: Descent of Icarus [OOC]

The year is 2027. It is a time of great innovation and technological advancements. Cybernetic implants are commonplace in this dark future, and can range from a prosthetic arm or leg to a cloaking system, or even a personality enhancer. However, it is also a time of chaos and conspiracy. The tension between normal humans and augmented people, or "augs", is at an all time high. Rioters protest in the streets and in front of the industries leading corporations, demanding for restrictions against unethical augmentations. On the other hand, augmented citizens are being prejudiced and treated as outcasts by the rest of society. Terrorism is growing increasingly more prevalent in the world, with both sides attacking the other. And while the tensions rise, a secretive group is controlling from the shadows, influencing and shaping the course of the future.

You will play as either an augmented or non-augmented citizen living in the big city of Manhattan. The "normal"- not augmented- citizens are getting scared, frightened by the danger posed by augmented citizens. The augs, however, are feeling prejudiced and hate being treated like this by their own kind. You will traverse the expansive streets of New York City, fighting obstacles in your way as you attempt to expose a conspiracy so deep it would change the course of the future.

If you are unfamiliar with the game Deus Ex, then you should know that it is similar to a role-playing game in the fact that it can be approached in many different ways. It is entirely possible to go through the whole game without killing anyone, and you are rewarded for doing so. Your character does not have to be a generic "shoot first, ask questions later" protagonist. In fact, they do not have to be fighters at all, they could just be a civilian who was swept into the heating tension. Just a thought :p

If you still need an idea about the setting, take a look at the awesome trailer. Or just imagine Detroit but with a lot more robots and viewed entirely through yellow-tinted glasses. That's basically it.

1. Basics rules of RPA apply, obviously.
2. This is not an M rated RP. I will allow the occasional s-word, but nothing too over-the-top please
3. You are not Adam Jensen. I know you all want to be Adam Jensen, but sadly, you are not. This means that you cannot be as awesome as Adam Jensen and get every single augmentation on the market. Try to limit your choices, please. I'd rather you pick between the high-energy augmentations and choose one (i.e. don't have the Cloak and the Typhoon, pick one or the other). I would also like for your augmentations to be relevant to your character's playstyle and profession. A hacker probably doesn't need a machine gun arm, no matter how cool that is.
4. As I said before, you are not Adam Jensen. This also means, for any augmented characters, that you will have to take neuropozyne, a drug that all augmented people (except Adam, of course) must take for their bodies to not reject the foreign implants. If you are augmented, and do not take the drug, you will die. Sorry.

Profession: To put it in her words, a "liberator of the people". To put it in anyone else's words, a hacker and basically a criminal.

Augmentations: Hacking Capture 5, Hacking Stealth, Hacking Fortify, Hacking Analyze, CASIE chip, Wayfinder & Infolink

Appearance: Red, shoulder length hair with the ends dyed black, usually tied up in a loose ponytail. Greenish-grey eyes. Caucasian. Has a tattoo of a snake coiling around her left arm. On the outside corner of her right eye there are metal implants that appear like three small triangles pointing to her eye (kind of like Ivan's from Mankind Divided -- the guy with the yellow hoodie). Her clothing consists of mainly dark, stealthy attire that allows her to go unnoticed throughout the streets.

Equipment: A 10mm pistol, many Stop! Worms and Nuke Viruses, 3 AUDs (Automatic Unlocking Devices), 2 combat knives

Bio: Claire was born into a fairly average, middle class family. She was fiercely independent as a child, insisting on learning how to ride a bike on her own without training wheels. She was a tomboy growing up, not hanging out with the popular kids and usually keeping to herself. However, because of her fiery nature, she often got into fights and was suspended. This eventually led to her expulsion from school. Her parents were exasperated with her and as she grew older she became even more detached and antisocial. She found her true self in computers and programming, seemingly a natural at creating viruses and codes. Donning the hacker moniker "N0va", she remained secluded in her room for hours, even days on end communicating with her fellow hackers and creating viruses to break into security networks. When she was old enough to leave the house, she rented an apartment to herself and created an intricate "lair" of sorts from which she worked to hack in to different organizations to learn the "truth". As the tensions between augs and humans began to rise, her focuses shifted primarily towards the anti-augmentation groups, to learn the real motives behind organizations such as Humanity Front and Purity First. As she dug deeper into the databases, she uncovered a vast conspiracy involving not only the augmentation debate, but the course of the entire future (aka ILLUMINATI). She then made it her mission to expose the lies to the public and stop these shadowy figures from influencing the world she lived in.

Personality: Austin keeps to himself, avoiding other people as much as he can and believes everyone is driven by self interested. Instead of feeling more than human like many augmented people do, he feels less than human.

It is okay, but I have a few problems.

1. As far as it looks, you made your character exactly like Adam Jensen :/ Do you think you could maybe change some of the features or augmentations or other things to change that? (specifically the sunglasses :p)

2. I would like you to put the personality on your character sheet, please. Makes thinfs a little easier.

3. Do you think you could tone down the augmentations a bit? I understand that you are a TF29 member, but I don't want too much over-poweredness.
