I believe that the human mind is incapable of knowing everything and all things that exist in the universe. In my opinion, magic is an essential part of any meaning human beings associate with the incomprehensible. Whether it be the myths of the Greeks or the faith of the religious, magic has many forms and exists in every corner of the globe.
Then again, I would make up any argument that would up my chances of ever getting my Hogwarts letter

I believe the world has magic that some people choose to see and other's dont. Ive always been a very imaginative person and understanding the limits to society may not be all they appear -- and for this Ive been deemed a artist, or "not in the real world" eh. No big deal but I whole heartedly believe that magic exist.
Child birth is magic, the way a baby is grown in the belly then able to grow and learn later on in life. You cant tell me birds flying isnt magic, or maybe the human brain.
Things are magical and we just see them as kinda.. there.

2. any large scale calamity (especially when thought to be sent by God)
There can be magic in this world. Then again, if there is, magic seems to despise all of humankind, if the fact the overwhelming majority of humans are completely magicless.
Why do you say majority? What group are excluded from this bunch?

Scientists have no explanation for the 'iron skin' martial art, as an example. Who knows if it is magic? It is not in my place to judge unexplained phenomena.
