"Magic" is such a loose term that gets thrown around these days. Everyone's perception of what magic is can be different from their peers. Some people may think magic as conjuring things out of thin air, like magic tricks and card tricks (slight of hand and illusions). Others will describe the natural world as magical, or other things they have trouble explaining.

For me, I normally associate the word "magical" to an event that was very positive and rare. For example, me playing the bagpipes with Paul McCartney in front of 10,000 is something I'd deem magical. Or Sidney Crosby's theatrical overtime goal at the olympics causing every street in Canada to party as "magical". To this extent someone can even say that life itself is magical.

As in magic in the classical term, that being summoning incantations and performing spells, is fictional old age myth. Not to say that people aren't still fascinated with it, as I myself enjoy reading fantasy style novels that's laced with magical themes. It's an idea that I find can't be taken seriously anymore. Almost like that aliens guy on that really bad TV show on the History Channel...

Interesting discussion though, what are people's general definition of "magic"?

Do I believe in magic? In a young girl's heart?

No. No I don't. Neither fantasy world magic or this "LIFE CAN BE SO MAGICAL" magic.

Magic, will have to say no to that. Consider myself pretty open minded and to give the possibility of many other things the conventional world would say nope to but magic is not one that I think is real.

Do I want magic to be real? YEP

Do I think it's real, in this world? NOPE

Could it be a possiblity out somewhere in the Universe? PROBABLY
However, it'd be in a different form to our stereotypical fantasy magic.

I don't believe in magic per se, but I do believe that there are things that we as mere mortals cannot explain with scientific reasoning.

I personally don't know. I've dated a couple of people who were into the wiccan coven-type thing, but as far as that goes...I'm not certain. But as I told my science teacher one time-

"If it's not currently trying to eat me, kill me, screw me, or enslave me, I don't care. If however it is; all I really need and want to know is how to kill it."

So all in all, it might exist; it might not. But I don't care unless it's directly involved with my life and well being.

Edit: by the way, as far as screwing me, depending on who it is, I am more than likely not to kill them so long as they are female and I know them.

I wont deny that it's certainly a possibility. I firmly believe that there are many things out there that we may not know about, and magic could be one of those things.
