Freya is in love with the creepy side of her archetype. Some people say that you catch more flies with honey- she says that someone had to come up with silly sayings for the flock in the first place. Her palette is generally black, with deep rich reds, blues and purples thrown in. She has always been amazed at how just the suggestion of stereotypical witchy-ness get people to do what she wanted without having to do any magic in the first place.
Her style would be very gothic Lolita, not that she'd call it that. The prettiness of it to be disarming but the darkness still giving her the air of being very powerful. And she never goes anywhere without the hat. It's always been her favourite thing since she was small, the symbol of attaining independence through magical skill.
Her hair is always a silvery white colour no matter the form that she takes, one of the few things that carries over through the magic. Just as her skin is always pale as moonlight , and her eyes a sea green. She can magically mask them for a time if she wanted to, but no matter her transformation spells, those are the things that never change. She can also never change her gender.
With everything else being fluid she can barely recall what she originally looked like, but her current form is short, around 5'2". The pale skin and silvery hair gives the whole look a very fey feeling, which she is saddened that can't be exploited to its fullest at this time. She has a moon shape made of silvery-blue scales above her heart- a symbol of her magic.
The figure she currently has is busty and curvy, and whilst not thin, has a slimness that makes it beautiful. She chooses each form for its ability to exploit others, and this form is spectacular. Although it also tends to leave an impression, which is less than desirable.

Freya was born to her mother, never knowing not caring who her father was. For witches men are nothing but the means to an end, and their daughters will always be a witch no matter what. Sons have no use but their soul to the race, which is why you'll never meet a male Witch, although there are men who claim they have similar powers. But the race itself has no men- or at least it shouldn't.
She grew up learning as much of her magic from her mother, a water witch of incredible power. Together they could dominate whole countries, and built up a store of souls to be the envy of many another witch. But soon the time came for her to enter her magical 'puberty' where raw magic becomes refined through experiences- and all witches go through a solitary journey to become one with their power however they feel fit. Afterwards they usually seek another, older witch to continue training until they are ready to become a witch in their own right. Just before she left her mother bestowed on her the single most important and sacred part of being a witch. Freya's very own hat. The symbol that showed who and what they were so that others could revere and fear them, as they should. A symbol that a witch is truly ready to take up that name and the reputation that comes with it.
Freya's journey took her through a mandrake swamp to the sea and back inland again. The salt only drained her magic, rather than letting her manipulate the water. Eventually her feet lead her through a forest to a spring fed pool with the remains of an old temple seemingly floating in the middle, with a water basin of marble still whole there. The moon shone round and full in the collected rainwater and it was there that she earned her scale markings. But the temple also felt odd to her. The architecture was unlike anything she'd ever seen- like it had crossed from another place. She took a part of the marble- a carving of a fierce looking woman adorned in finery- with her from the place as a memory of her power wellspring. But, whenever she told any potential teacher about it they all turned her away with a range of reactions from scorn to fear.
So she taught herself. She ingratiated herself into societies. She manipulated them for their souls, starting her own stash. The people to whom she became healer, midwife, augur and wise woman were also lead to believe that she couldn't heal all and often there was a trade. And that it was the strong who survived best. Especially after the life essence of the world started to dwindle and power became a resource. Sickly people came to her to die, and sickly children were left out for her to take too. But their village always prospered despite these dark things. And when she became so old as for people to be suspicious she would change her form and keep it going. Her mother is still considered the wealthiest, most powerful water witch but her daughter is very quickly catching up.

Merry loves music, which comes through in a lot of her fashion. Everything from little hats and waistcoats to stylish and flouncy idol outfits she manages to mesh into her own cute style.
Her biggest inspiration are Japanese idol groups, which she found through watching idol anime series. Whilst not being Japanese at all, she can speak the language and follows the music scene there. Her palette is bright, vibrant and often described as loud, contrasting with her ever changing pastel hair colours (inspired by anime).
She's never without a satchel bag that contains her music transcript book and pencils in case of inspiration. She's also a master of wearing heels, and has been known to have sprinted and caught a cat in them, as well as climb trees. Her official height is 5' or so, but the magic of shoes helps her a lot.
She's a pale individual- proud of her English rose complexion (her term)- and takes great pains to stay out of the sun ("It takes a lot of effort to be this pale you know"). To her horror she tans incredibly well in the sun as well, and she hates it. She also hates that she has very little cleavage which adds with her smallness to give an extremely child-like air.

PERSONALITY // BIO

Meridith was a child from a happy family, growing up with her mum and dad in a small house in the UK. Her dad she didn't always see much of during the week as he commuted a lot for his work as a programmer, but he did well enough that her mother could explore her dream of running a little bakery in the town, which had its local coffee go-ers during the year, but more than made up for it during the summer. Both her parents had loved music, her dad preferring brass and guitar while her mother preferred the strings and piano.
From an early age Merideth showed a same inclination toward music, and had the ability to be taught just about anything she wanted to know to play. Sunday's were always the best for her- when others went to church, or slept in, the family would instead gather in the lounge and just play together, either songs they all knew or just someone starting off a phrase and the family joining in. Sometimes it was amazing. Sometimes it was horrendous. But always it was fun.
When Meredith was halfway through high school though, the unthinkable happened. Her dad got a promotion that was too good to pass up, and while none of them wanted to leave, off to America they packed and left. It's not that Meredith didn't like it there, she did make some amazing friends, and picked up the nickname 'Merry' not just as a contraction of her name but also a descriptor of her personality. But her dad became more and more stressed, and they saw less and less of him as time went on. Music day got lost in the move somewhere as Sunday mornings were now about the only time her father seemed to get to sleep.
So instead of being able to play whenever she wished, because instruments were loud, she found other ways to get her music fixes. Enter anime, especially idol anime. She loved everything from the musical expression, to the phrasing of the words, even just the language sounded beautiful to her. So she decided to learn it, to not need subtitles to enjoy it, and to try composing in Japanese as well. Studying composition at University was a natural flow on effect, and although she had intended to go back to England to do so, something just kept her in the States instead.
So, enter Meredith, stage left.
