The world, was simply known as Djura. Ten thousand years after a catastrophic event that brought Djura into a dystopian age of technology. All of this happened, because of the Old Engines hidden beneath Djura's surface. The Old Engines were once weapons of mass destruction, designed specifically to destroy civilizations and harvest the souls of many. Created by the Legions of Hell, the Old Engines were used as a last resort to defeat the Council of Heavens' angelic warriors in the mortal world, Djura. Thus, the demonic creatures activated the Engines and nearly wiped out all of humanity. The demons themselves were wiped out, although a few survived. What happened to the Angels?

Seeing as the world crumbles, the Angels gathered the surviving humans and helped them to rebuild the world. Creating massive walled cities, equipped with deadly weapons similar to the technology the Angels had used before. Some of these are the great city of Babylon, the mighty Constantinople, the city of intelligent humans Athens and the military-powered Rome. As these cities were built, millions of survivors lived in its safe walls.

But outside its cities, a land of sands awaits to those who dared to venture out of the cities' walls. Demonic creatures that are remnants of the war between Angels and Demons. There are also deformed humans that lived for thousands of years, awaiting their end with agony and pain. The sight of many buildings buried in sand is common for those who usually walked outside the walls...

Spoiler: The Council of Heavens 

The Council of Heavens are the ruling body of the Great Heavens or mostly known as the White Kingdoms, consisting 5 Archangels that lead great armies of the Great Heavens and representing different aspects. Currently, the 5 Archangels are; Farron the Archangel of Vigilance, Va'lor the Archangel of Honor, Irythia the Archangel of Wisdom, Irathael the Archangel of Faith and Nathaniel the Archangel of Divinity. The Council will watch the humans from above and will not interfere in most of the human's affairs. They are the embodiment of justice, divinity and unity. Once the council's union is broken, it is a sign that the humans have to defend themselves from the Hell Legions. The Council, was ultimately ruled by the Lord of Light himself, R'haz.

Spoiler: Legions of Hell 

An army of demonic beings, seeking the ruin of many souls on Djura. All of them are a collection of hideous, grotesque beings that wanted nothing more than an eternal war. A war that will go on forever. Lead by 3 Archdemons; Caranthir, Zurthael and Damadon. But ultimately, the Legions are lead by the burning will of the Lord of Death, Nithra. The rival to R'haz. The Old Engines that they have built can kill and harvest the souls of many, but those who were affected by it, will transform into a grotesque monster, slowing taking away their souls, and can only die by killing them.

Spoiler: Map of Babylon 

Babylon, the First City ever built after the war between the Angels and Demons. The largest city ever built, Babylon was under the administration of the White Conglomerate, a religious order that protects the citizens of Babylon. Some people didn't even consider Babylon as a city because of its sheer size (about the size of Australia). Babylon was divided into 6 different areas;
The Central Ward, Ordo Sanctus, Ordo Infernus, Golden Chalice, Silver Forge and the Crimson Watch. Each were protected by the Conglomerate's Shield Orders, an order of priests that possesses superhuman abilities.

The Central Ward

The Central Ward was the main area of all 6 districts. It houses over a million citizens, 400,000 Shield Priests, and the High Priest himself. The Central Ward's most notable location is the main headquarters of the White Conglomerate. It is considered as the safest area of the city alongside the Golden Chalice.

The Golden Chalice

The Golden Chalice is the most peaceful and safest area, safer than the Central Ward. Protected not only the Shield Priests but also by the disbanded Oath Paladins. The crime rates here are extremely low that people were able to sleep outside without being afraid. The Golden Chalice was also the main district for obtaining precious minerals and learning. It is an area where the ones who are eager to learn, can learn.

The Crimson Watch

The Crimson Watch got their name from the abnormally high crime rates and occasional gang wars. Protected by a small amount of Shield Priests and a lot of Oath Paladins. The Crimson Watch was in a state of constant warfare between criminal organizations, the citizens here tend to migrate to other districts or even to other cities. Murder, rape, robbery and other criminal activity is common here. Suitable for any other minor factions to recruit strong, cold, and merciless warriors intp their ranks.

The Ordo Sanctus and Ordo Infernus

The two districts that are completely protected by the Oath Paladins, the names of the two districts came from Latin, meaning Holy Orders and Death Row respectively (according to G.Translate =P). Having the Oath Paladins at their side, the crime rates of the two districts are equal and nearly the same as the Central Ward. Basically tied for the 3rd safest area.

The Silver Forge

Where the most finest weapons and armor are crafted by the most skilled hands of a blacksmith. The Silver Forge is the best place to find for weapons and armor. Protected by none, but the whole area was protected by themselves. The crime rates are not too high but no as high as the one in the Crimson Watch. But it is still considered safe.

Spoiler: Babylon's Political Hierarchy 

The highest rank in the Conglomerate is the High Lord and only males can be the High Lord, responsible for administrating the city from trade routes to other cities, managing crime rates and other stuffs. Basically a president. A successor will be called as a High Priest to aid the High Lord organizing his plans. And yes, only males can be a High Priest.

Under the two ranks, there are 3 Inquisitors to watch over the Shield Priests. Inquisitors have the highest power in terms of protecting the city. Inquisitors can either be male or female. However, their political power can only affect the Shield Priests, but not the Oath Paladins.

Inquisitors have the same characteristics of the Knight-class Paladins. Some even say that these Inquisitors are former Paladins, breaking their sacred Oath and joining the Conglomerate as Inquisitors.

Oath Paladins

The highest rank is the Great Paladin. And because the Paladins value gender equalities, the Great Paladin can be either male or female. He/she is tasked to organize the Paladin's movements and missions. To protect Babylon, they must protect it from inside and from the outside. Under the Great Paladin, is the High Paladin. Same, it can be either male or female. The High Paladins watches the Paladin's activities, similar to their leader but also helps the Great Paladin making important decisions.

The Oath Paladins are the only ones who are actively sending out their members to eradicate the remaining demons outside the walls. And they greatly despise the Conglomerate. To be a Paladin, citizens must be at least 18 of age and possesses great mental strength in order to survive the 3 year long training. And this means the ones from the Crimson Watch are the best candidates of becoming a Paladin. But, becoming one also requires discipline. The ones from the Golden Chalice and the Silver Forge have suitable candidates possessing discipline.

Recruiting new Paladins can be done in any other districts.

Similarity

Both of the Conglomerate and the Paladins swear their lives to the Lord of Light, to never serve the dark but fight against the dark. This is known as the Rhaelic Religion, who believes that the Lord of Light will soon return with his army of angels to purge the demons once and for all.

Full Hierarchy of the Conglomerate and the Order

As stated in the OP, there are the High Lord, the High Priest and the Inquisitors. The other lesser known ranks are the Shield Knights, which acts as same as the Order's Division Commanders. One notable Shield Knight is Sir Lucius Anderson, the best Shield Priest in the Conglomerate and only summoned when needed. Under the Shield Knights are the ordinary Shield Priests and Nuns.

Spoiler: Details; Order 

You already know that there are the Great and High Paladins. Under them, is the commanders of the Division Orders. Altogether, there are 100 Division Orders, every 25 Divisions are listed as a Quartile. Example, First Division Order until the 25th Division Order are listed as the First Quartile and so on. Currently, only two of the Division Commanders are known, Commander Zorlund Harkand of the First Division Order and Commander Dyana of the Twelfth Division Order

The First Quartile consists of the first 25 elite Division Orders. As the numbers goes down, the less elite it became. Example, the Final Quartile consists of the final 25 Division Orders.

Spoiler: Technology 

The technology in this RP is mixed with science fiction and fantasy. Laser weapons do exist only in the form o firearms. Bladed weapons like swords and axes are still in use by the Paladins, Inquisitors and Priests/Nuns. Robots do exist too.

Spoiler: The Protectors of Babylon 

The Shield Priests

The combat branch of the White Conglomerate, the Shield Priests are the 'official' protectors of the city, despite 3 parts of the city were not protected by them. Possessing abilities that surpasses the limits of a normal human, the priests (and nuns) are basically superhumans, have superhuman reflexes, keen eyesight, keen smell, great hearing, and inhumanly agile. Equipped with blessed weapons, the Shield Priests hunts down various enemies inside the walls of Babylon, from heretics to demons.

Oath Paladins, the remnants of the Excalibur Knights Order

Oath Paladins was once the mighty knights of the disbanded Excalibur Knights Order. Vowed to protect the city if it even costs their souls, the Oath Paladins was the rightful protector of Babylon until the founder of the White Connglomerate took over the city's administrations and disbanded the Order. The Paladins, possessing superhuman abilities which the Conglomerate have took the basic template of the knights. The Paladins have superior abilities, each class have their own set of abilities but still possessing superhuman speed, reflexes and strength.

Spoiler: The Paladin Classes 

Knight

• Burning Blood - Possessing a hot stream of blood running down their veins. If creatures such as vampires to drink their blood, it will burn them.
• Enhanced Sight - A Knight's sight were superior than a normal and the Priests. This allows them to see clearly in the dark and spot enemies from kilometers away
• Echolocation - Or otherwise known as radar sense. Able to locate an enemy through the sound waves reflected in the environment generated by any objects or creatures.

Templar

• Enhanced Speed - This and the already enhanced speed makes Templars the fastest on the battlefield.
• Enhanced Smell - Templars are perfect hunters, able to distinguish between a human-looking vampire and a human accurately.
• Divine Wrath - This enables Templars to enter into a blood rage state, losing all sense of reality, increasing their strength and speed. However this comes with a cost, he/she will not be able to distinguish between friend or foe while in this state. Can only be activated with an Elixir of Wrath.

Gallant

• Enhanced Strength - Stronger than most Paladins, Gallants are able to lift objects x10 heavier than themselves.
• Skin Hardening - The skin of a Gallant can be hardened for a short period of time, acting as an armor. This skin able to withstand countless blows for 2-5 minutes.
• Memory Absorption - They can absorb the memories of an enemy by consuming any parts of the body to gain information. This can be done with special enzymes to Gallants.

Crusader

• Fire-breathing - Able to breathe fire. This makes more resistant to fire but not as resistant as Gallants.
• Passive Regeneration - Wounds inflicted on a Crusader will heal over time but faster than a normal human's healing rate. Such as a wound extremely fatal to humans will heal in 2-3 hours.
• Sixth Sense - A Crusader can sense the presence of nearby demons without even having the abilities of a Knight (Echolocation) or Templar (Enhanced Smell). However, this can only sense demons.

Rogue

• Muffled Footsteps - A Rogue's footsteps is muffled. Causing the enemy unable to hear the Rogue's footsteps.
• Blending Into The Shadows - When hiding in the shadows, a Rogue can activated this ability to completely 'blend-in' with the shadows.
• Focus - The aim of this Paladin will be enhanced hundredfold. Possibly unable to miss any shots made, either with a bow or a gun.

Spoiler: The Beasts of Hell 

Spoiler: Parasite 

A grotesque looking beast that had a mouth-like structure on its body. With it, the Parasite will consume a human body, perhaps transforming it into another parasite. The arms of a Parasite are sharp, they can use it to grab humans or use it as a weapon.

Spoiler: The Deformed 

One of the many humans that have turned into hideous beings thousands of years ago, after the Old Engines were activated. These soulless and mindless creatures wanders the lands outside the walls constantly searching for someone to kill. Some of them still had souls in them, and they are waiting for the one to kill to end the pain and misery they have suffered for thousands of years.

Spoiler: Steel Demons 

Made from an unholy union of flesh and metal. The Steel Demons are powerful in terms of strength and firepower. Made in the Hell Legion's own realm, these creatures are a product of merging demonic technology and one of their kind, creating a huge monster capable of decimating large armies.

Spoiler: The Corrupted Paladins 

These Paladins have fully succumbed to the darkness. Not willingly perhaps. These poor souls are still fighting inside, but their body can't be controlled. Thus, these Paladins can be said; turned insane by the powers of the darkness. Encountering them maybe different, for they might be a Crusader, a Gallant, a Rogue or even a Knight. But usually, Paladins prays after slaying one of their once-brethren.

Paladin Victoria Alice Anderson (Detailed CS)
One of the new recruits of the Order. Having a dark past, Victoria is considered to be childish because of her attitude and a little brash at moments. But, her past makes her the woman other people knows today, strong willed and determined to eradicate the world of demons. As a Knight, she is one of the most friendliest Paladins you can meet although only serving for 5 months. She aims to defeat her brother, Sir Lucius Anderson who is a Shield Knight in the Conglomerate. Currently waiting squadron assignments.

Paladin Nathan Grayson
A Paladin who served the other for nearly two years and fighting under the Twelfth Division, Nathan is a Templar class Paladin who excels in the use of shortswords and daggers. He also known by his philosophical nature, questioning what are demons and the inevitability of death. But, most of all he is friendly towards women. Now, currently under Alistair's command.

Paladin Michael
A silent Paladin. Less words, more to action. Paladin Michael is known for his superior reflexes, able to take out multiple enemies in a matter of seconds. Serving as a Knight. He prefers to wear his own coat rather than his armor which gave him more mobility than other Paladins.

Paladin Dyana
The famed leader of the Twelfth Division Order. Leading over a thousand Paladins, and losing more every week, same as other Divisions, Paladin Dyana is known to be soft and caring but deadly in battle. The best swordswoman in the Division, she wields the Blade of Glory.


Paladin Zorlund
Commander Zorlund Harkand of the First Division Order. A veteran Paladin who served the Order for over 30 years with unwavering loyalty. Protecting Babylon as a Templar, his name became known to many as he racked many kills and successful missions.

Paladin Alissa
Alissa Durand was one of the 12th Division's Sergeants currently leading a squad of 4 Paladins on a mission outside the walls. Alissa, known for her short temper and strengths can be always seen with fellow Sergeant Connor.


Paladin Connor
Connor Sanders, one of the few Sergeant Paladins serving under the Twelfth Division Order. Serving the Order as a Gallant, he manages to accomplish over twenty missions, with his squadron still in one piece.

Paladin Caesar Augus
The older brother to the late Roman Augus (mentioned dead in Prologue). Caesar and his family hailed from the city of Rome, hence the name. He served the Order for 10 years as a Crusader and the leader of a squadron in the 10th Division. Known for his immense strength, Caesar is brutal in combat caring none for his enemies. Preferring to kill them brutally, and viciously.

Sir Lucius Anderson
Sir Lucius Anderson was one of the Shield Knights, commanders to every Shield Priest division. Similar to a Paladin Commander. Sir Lucius was the best Shield Knight, and was only summoned for missions deemed too dangerous for ordinary Shield Priest.

Lady Selena Proudsmore
Serving as the second most elite Shield Knights, Lady Selena commands over 300 Shield Priests, constantly patrols the Golden Chalice and the Crimson Watch districts. She remained as the eyes of the High Lord, while her comrade Sir Lucius acts as the combat oriented division.

Sister Cereza Natalia
Being one of the few female members of the Shield Priests, Cereza possesses an incredible swordfighting skill and reflexes. She had an insane reaction speed, some even say she could dodge a point blank bullet or even cut through multiple bullets at once. Serving under the Shield Knight Sir Lucius, she is one of the best warriors to ever grace Babylon

Nero 'Smoke' Julius (Detailed CS)
Nero is one of the Roman Guards whose duty is to protect the city of Rome, much like the Paladins. Nero is also one of the Captains of the Guard, leading a whole legion. He is a wise cracking man even during the dark times.

Vlad Harkonnen
The former Paladin wanders throughout the Outlands in search for the forbidden knowledge written in the Demonomica, a book that contains many secrets about the demon and their own homeworld. Vlad becomes a rival to Alistair as he left the Order to pursue this forbidden knowledge.

Arya Gray
Younger sister to Alistair Gray, Arya is a blacksmith in the Silver Forge district and is trained by one of the most renowned blacksmiths in the district, Cole Gareth. She also knows Paladin Michael who she currently fell in love with.


Vincent Uriel
The owner of a... pleasure court in the Colony, a settlement infamous for its activities that are deemed illegal in Babylon; prostitution, drug dealing, thievery etc. etc. While he runs a pleasure court or rather, brothel, he is actually a scientist capable of giving treatment to the poisoned and injured as his laboratory is located beneath his mansion where the 'sexual activities' take place.

Spoiler: Lord of Light, R'haz 

The ruler of the Council of Heavens and the supreme commander of the Heaven's Army. His Aspect is Light and Life, and his duty is to ensure the protection of the world from demons alongside other trusted Angels.

Spoiler: Farron, Archangel of Vigilance 

The right hand to R'haz himself and commander of the Angels of the Watch. His duty is to watch over the gates that may open anytime that will allow the demons to enter Djura. He wields a greatsword known as the Shard, almost as powerful as R'haz own Lightbringer.

Spoiler: Va'lor, Archangel of Honor 

Va'lor leads only a few hundred Angels into battle but his men are strong. Valuing honor above all else, Va'lor teaches the humans honor or what most people in the military called as the 'Code of Chivalry'. He wields 'Dawn' and 'Nightfall', two spears forged by Vesuvius, the Angel of Blacksmiths.

Spoiler: Irythia, Archangel of Wisdom 

One of the few female Archangels in the Council, Irythia is the sister to Irathael who is a fellow Archangel. She usually avoids bloodshed but only fights when she needed to. The people of the city of Athens revered her and made Irythia as their patron.

Spoiler: Irathael, the Archangel of Faith 

Irathael, the sister to Irythia is responsible for the Rhaelic religion to be spread across Djura way before the war between angels and demons started. Although she too avoids bloodshed, but she only fights when needed to, similar to her sister. She wields the 'Faithful' a spear forged by Vesuvius.

Spoiler: Nathaniel, Archangel of Divinity 

The powerful commander of Heaven's Wrath, Nathaniel wields 'Destiny', a spear which had two points, similar to a pitchfork. Nathaniel rivals Farron, the right hand of R'haz but despite their rivalry, Nathaniel knows the consequences of betraying and thus, he teaches the humans to not betray to each other or to break a sacred oath.

Azur is not evil, instead he guides the souls towards the Halls of Judgment, where they will be judged for their sins. Those who are worthy will enter Sanctuary, a realm of the divine men and women while those who are not, they will enter the Underworld, a place where they are required to fight the demons for eternity until the demons are finally vanquished.

Spoiler: Themis, Maiden of Justice/Archangel of Justice 

Themis is the one who teaches the humans to value justice over injustice. She leads the Heavenly Knights and constantly accompanies the souls who are battling the demons in the Underworld.

Spoiler: Vesuvius, Master of the Coal/Archangel of Blacksmiths 

Vesuvius or Vulcan in the city of Rome, is the blacksmith of the Heavenly Army. He forges the most powerful weapons ever existed and resides in a realm known as the Forgery or as the Realm of the Furnace.

Graia have been involved in many battles against the demons and teaches the humans of Djura to never bring war for its dire consequences. Even Graia herself is the Archangel of War, she wants to end the war between them and demons if there's a way. And she knows that there will be a way.

Behold the true face of hell itself. The Nithra players saw in the story earlier was just a fake one, Nithra brings death, Nithra brings war, Nithra brings chaos, Nithra burns all. The sworn enemy to the Lord of Light himself, Nithra's Aspect is Death. And the Angels have been fighting a war that goes on for centuries and he is also the cause of Babylon's fall.

I did said similar to the Oath Paladins but not exclusively an Oath Paladin.

This is not exactly pure sci-fi but the magic in this world are pretty much obscure, only limited to opening portals to different plains of reality (Djura, Sanctuary (Heavens) and Abyss (Hell)). We'll explore much more into it in the IC why did it became so obscure.

Personality: As with most Paladins possess, Alistair or rather Hawke was a disciplined man. Taught to him by his parents in the Crimson Watch district. His life in the district strengthens his mind to become stronger mentally in order to resist the darkness. But, Hawke can be seen as a calm and cool person but often being viewed as a lonewolf or rather, an introvert. He prefers to accomplish missions with less people. But, Hawke does hates someone pointing out his past mistakes. Once he loses his temper, Hawke generally punches the person in the face losing his sense of discipline for a short moment. This is one of the reasons why he could never work in a large group.

Hawke stands at 1.87m tall. He had a gold hair, a blonde you might say. He had a slightly tough build and a scar across his body.

This is his armor. The armor of redemption. Specially built to suit Alistair's build and his need for more mobility under Hawke's request.

Weapons:

• Sword of Absolution - An upgraded version of the standard issue Sword of Sins. This sword emits a power field that enable the sword to cut through easily. The power field is emitted at its blade, invisible to the naked eye.
• Demon Bane - Fires explosive rounds. 40 per magazines

• Leadership - Developed as child during his life in the Crimson Watch and the years of training as a Paladin
• Hand-to-hand combat - Excellent in taking down multiple enemies at once.
• Swordsmanship - Expert in using swords. Sometimes even dual wielding

Non-Combat Skills:

• Musical Skills - Hawke is also known to have skills in playing a guitar and a violin.
• Survival - Most Paladins have to learn this skill in order to survive outside the walls.

Hobby: Hawke can be usually seen walking alone at parks, forests and city streets to ease his mind. Sometimes he even went hunting. But in his free time, he plays his guitar or violin alone. He also loves to read books especially encyclopedias and books with tonnes of information, most notably the Anatomy of Demons written by J.P. Howard. He sometimes played video games that interests him.

Likes: Books. Good movies with great stories. Great video games with interesting concept and story. Weapons. He loves weapons. Peaceful environments, preferrably silent.

Dislikes: Noisy places, whiny people. Anything that is the opposite on the subject of books and video games.

Backstory: Living in the Crimson Watch wasn't easy for many citizens. Criminal activity is high. One can feel the 'dark' atmosphere of the district. One can also feel fear when living here. But all this shapes Alistair, the eldest of two. All of these events strengthens Hawke's mind, shaping him. His parents taught him to be disciplined and brave, for living in a world of chaos requires more than discipline. In his years of teenagehood, Hawke and his family moved to the Silver Forge in order to escape a gang war that is happening that time. Unfortunately, before they could move, Hawke's parents were killed and leaving the two siblings alone.

The siblings escaped to Silver Forge. And Hawke took great care of his sister, he had to work in multiple jobs in his young age. He determines to send his sister to a school, with the money he got from his jobs he paid his sister's school fees, at that time, Hawke was 13 and Arya was 4. He didn't even care about his future. Thus, when he reached 18, his sister was taken care of a blacksmith in the district to let Hawke go for enrolling in the Paladin's ranks. He was trained for 3 years, seeing his parent's grave and sister 4 times a year, surviving the vigorous trainings and now, he became one of the Paladin's greatest assets.

Personality: Attractive, Calm, Cold, Valiant woman is what they had rumored her. She makes a good housewife though, and a pretty voice when she sings. Her actions is a lot weird though. When serious, just DON’T GET TO HER BAD SIDE, she’s uhm . . . A psycho?

Spoiler: BackStory 

Backstory: Xiao Ciao was an orphan in a shady orphanage in The Crimson Watch that monopolized young men and women. Her mother abandoned her for money was what she thought. Her two “Masters” said so otherwise. Those that were in there doesn’t know the meaning of life and trapped inside for almost eternity.

The First Master, who is a male, would pick a female or more and have sex with them. Unfortunately, the orphans in there don’t know what is right or wrong, so they had their purity washed away. The Second master, who is a female, similarly does the thing but in the opposite gender. The difference is that the males are enjoying it more than the females.

Luckily, 1 week before Xiao Ciao’s Birthday the day she was about to lose her virginity, she escaped the orphanage in order to see the scenery of the outside world. She slept in an alley nobody enters. The next day, she woke up following a sound she could only hear in the same alley. After some hours of walking, she stumbled into Ενέργειας του Κινητήρες (Enérgeias tou Kinitíres) or also known as Energy of Engines, glowing in blue and white.

Upon holding the item, she felt the power surging through her, a power similar to a shield priest or a knight, thus use her power 6 days later to free the others from the orphanage. Oath paladins found out the orphanage and executed the two owners, but the mysterious person who cause the outbreak was unknown.

On the same day, the High Lord appointed her as an Inquisitor as he felt a formidable power, yet a dangerous one that needs to be kept an eye on. And she live her life protecting the city of Babylon. No one knows her appearance even the shield priest, but she can be heard through voice to victory and freely walk to the areas she's a mystery.
