Default [M] Fairy Tail: A Brave, New, World IC

Fiore has changed in the last few hundred years. The realm that once had wagons and locomotive trains, is now inhabited by cars, factories, and bullet trains. Most of the world has turned to modern science and turned it back on the old ways of magic. But there are still a few places that support the old world. One of these towns, is where our story begins.

The Town of Magnolia. A patch of rural utopia that the boom of urban living hadn’t seemed to catch yet. In the hundreds of years that the town has existed, it has rarely changed. It is a merchant city that has been dealing in Magic since ancient times. The town has many famous landmarks, including the Kardia Cathedral in the center of town. The people that live there have a rich understanding of Magic and welcome all types of Wizards. This is because they have been exposed to Magic for centuries, and because Magnolia is the home of one of the most famous Wizard guilds in Fiore; Fairy Tail.

The Fairy Tail guild is one of the strongest wizard guilds in Fiore. Many consider it to be the strongest of them all. This claim does not go without good reason however. Many strong wizards with rare and powerful magic are members and they frequently show off their skills in various scenarios, whether it’s on a job or simply out in the world. The World News continuously brings up their name, sometimes for good reasons and other times, not so much. But no matter what the world thinks, the wizards at Fairy Tail carry on with their lives without much of a care in the world. But today was one of those special days that made the townspeople close their windows and stay off the streets.

Lightning crackled in the sky as a storm began to brew over the city. The members of Fairy Tail have gathered around the field near the Guild Hall to watch the coming duel. Today’s matchup? Blake Ezell, known as The Thunder King and one of Fairy Tail’s S-Class Wizards, had been challenged to a fight by one of Fairy Tail’s other members; a relatively new wizard named Sarah Arconius. She was different than the other members, but at Fairy Tail everyone was special and unique in their own way. Now Sarah had challenged Blake to a duel. Her reasons were her own and Blake wasn’t going to turn down a challenge. Especially given the things he had heard about Sarah’s power. He was curious to see how she’d do against his Lightning Magic.

Blake was dressed in his black slacks and white button-up shirt. He was barefoot, which was a common sight for him. He felt that shoes interfered with his magic. A couple bandages were visible on his hands, feet, and neck, but the rest was covered by his clothes. He stood with a laidback expression as he starred across the field at Sarah. Forming a circle around them was the rest of the guild. They were watching, laughing, drinking, and placing their bets. Most of them were betting on Blake, given his history and legendary skill. He smiled and stretched his arms as he turned his gaze to the sky. The clouds were beginning to circle as bolts of lightning jumped from cloud to cloud.

“Alright,” Blake’s voice carried over the field like a megaphone. “Let’s get this show on the road.” He opened his right hand and let a few streaks of electricity jump from finger to finger. He hadn’t had a good challenge in a while.

Out in a remote mountainous region of Fiore, lies the guild hall of the reformed Dark guild, Tartarus. Founded long ago by the demon, Mard Geer Tartarus, he and his demons were once the most feared Dark guild of all. One of the Nine Demon Gates single handedly destroyed the Magic Council and almost all of the people inside it. A feat that has yet to have been done since then.

Unlike the old version of the guild which consisted of real demons, the current members are not real demons. Eveyone is human, but each one uses magic to inflict the most pain as possible. That way they can one day take over the entire continent and become the ultimate power in the world. One of the most wanted and feared guilds of all, no one has yet to find the location of the guild.

Deep inside the guild hall in a large room full of lacramatrons, one man in dark clothing stood there watching the screens. Each screen was tuned to a different news broadcast from all around Fiore. Some showcased the latest happenings in other towns, while others talked national news. The man who stood atentitavely at the screens was Peter Terminus, who better goes by Diablo Vipera. Nicknamed the "Hand of Satan" for his ruthlessness and cunning skill in attacking his opponents. Being one of the Embodiments of Satan as well as head master of the guild, he makes sure all of the activities of the guild are kept in order.

Just then, a low-level member entered the room. "My lord, a letter just arrived and is addressed to you." "Bring it to me." He said coldly. In the mouth of Diablo, a half lit cigarette burns slowly as he continous to pay attention to the screens. The other mage then came in and handed him the letter in his master's extended hand. He then left and closed the door behind him as Terminus looked at the letter in hand. He simoly placed it inside his pocket and looked at the screens again.

Thanks to Crap for the Sig.

Time to show them the might of a Titan. Sarah thought as she got into her usual fighting stance. Once Blake said the words, Sarah moved, starting with Void Binding Chains to try and wrap up her opponent, and then move in to start with a flurry of punches and kicks. Heart of the Storm is gonna be useless here due to his Lighting magic if even half the rumors are true. THis should alos be a good stress test of my arm, see what I can put it through before I go out into the field.

Watching fights had never been something that joyed Sebastian. During fights, everyone would crowd around the fight and watch eagerly. Sebastian, who didn't like crowds would often avoid this. He'd usually just stand at the back and use the reactions of the crowd to gauge what was happening, and if it was even worth his time to look up. But today was different. There was a fight that was about to happen that you wouldn't really expect to see. A newer member of Fairy Tail and an S-Class Wizard of Fairy Tail are about to fight. This had really peaked Sebastian's interest. He wanted to see what this new person brought to the table. And if they could even hold their own against Blake.

Sebastian was behind the crowd. He was sitting on a box near the Guild Hall. From here he had a good view of the fight and didn't have to worry about people surrounding him. He wondered what this fight would be like, whether it would be a one-sided slaughter or a decent fight. Sebastian himself had never personally fought Blake but had seen a bit of what Blake could do. It was always an interesting sight. Sebastian leaned back against the wall behind the large box, his eyes fixed on the fight that was about to take place.

James Was Riding an SE plug Motor Bike, A relic by anyones standards. There weren't many vehicles that used SE engines anymore. James was on an old highway, With very little traffic, he opened the throttle up. He was in a mood. The guild had recently made the news, They had single handedly taken down several dark guilds that attacked a small city, However the news had spun it so they were terrorist that took joy from the slaughtered of others. The guild was running damage control ever since.

A few hours ago he was in the High Mercenary's R&D lab with their R&D head arguing the pros and cons of Powered spell armor when his mother burst into the lab looking for blood. Dawn Bust, Leader of the High Mercenary, Grabbed her son by the ear and saw fit to drag him through the guild to her office, where she lecture him over a minute long clip of he being thrown through a building some news person had filmed. neither was his fault, afterward he had left to go for some air. There was a rumor flying around that Dawn was a descended from Titania, James would admit, it was possible, his mother did look like the old photos of her, and it the old history books had anything right, she had her temper.

Thinking about what happened made his blood boil. The SE engine on the bike made a high pitch whine before exploding, James swore loudly before pulling off the highway at an exit marked Magnolia. He Got off the bike and looked at the engine. It was burned out, It was fixable yes, but he would need parts. He started to push the bike into the town Proper. "It's a ghost town" He said, Looking around, then looking to the sky. Dark clouds circled a large building at the lakeside of the town. "If I get hit by magic lighting again, I going to smack the wizard responsible" He muttered as pushed the bike in that direction.

Blake watched as Sarah made the first move. Her hands produced a chain made of void magic that shot straight at him. His battle instincts kicked in as his lightning reflexes went to work. He moved quickly to dodge the void chains. They shot past him as he stepped to the side. He felt some of the Void magic that the chains were made of; it felt empty and cold. He turned in time to see Sarah follow up this attack with a series of punches and kicks. He had a serious expression as he moved with amazing speed to dodge these attacks. He saw that Sarah was trying so he decided to wait a little bit before using any attacks. He didn’t want to fry the new girl just yet. Instead he wanted to see how far Sarah would go, how much magic she was willing to use. In the midst of one of her swings, he used a touch of magic to change into a lightning bolt. In this form he moved so fast it was as if he had teleported as he reappeared behind Sarah. While behind her, he extended his hand with his index finger forward. If Sarah had time to react, she might be able to dodge or counter this. If not, she would be hit with a mild zap of electricity. This is a discharge of his built up static electricity. It wouldn’t hurt very much but it would get her attention.

While all of her attacks were dodged, Sarah simply kept going, even as she was lightly zapped. I need to get faster. much faster. As she hopped back a bit to get some room, Sarah looked to her HUD readout. she saw that she could connect to many things, but two caught her eye. her opponent Blake and the Internet. I wonder... the teen thought as she connected to Blake's mind, and the routed the connection to the internet with a tab open on the first porn site and a video up and playing a quick search found. Lets see if a distraction like this will work she thought.

"VOID BINDING CHAINS!" she shouted, pouring a bit more magical power into the spell, hoping that if they did land, he wouldn't be able to simply break free instantly, which would give her a window to rush in and once again try to land a flurry of punches and kicks. I really need more non-lighting based offensive spells...

Blake continued to dodge her attacks until Sarah decided to jump away and create some space between them. She seemed to consider something as they both stood there, waiting for the other to make a decision. Suddenly, things took a strange turn. Blake mind got high jacked and flooded by a porn video. Blake yelled and wiped his eyes as he tried to get the image out of his mind.

He couldn't hear anything besides the filthy sounds from the video, so he didn't even hear Sarah cast her spell as the chains shot out and proceeded to wrap him up. He felt the restraints, though he couldn't concentrate on escaping as long as his mind was occupied with the video. Sarah's punches and kicks found their mark, each one starting to wear down Blake's defense. Occasionally his static electricity would discharge and zap Sarah, but it would be a mild irritation at this point.

Finally, Blake managed to break free. The video ended and the tap closed, returning Blake's eyes and ears. He looked up and glared at Sarah. Then he began to power up his magic as he started to dodge whatever punches and kicks he could. The air was thick with ozone as he discharged a small amount to free himself from the chains. Then he jumped into the air, transforming his body into a lightning bolt as he did so. In this form, he moved blindingly fast. He moved to the other side of the field and returned to his human form, his hands in his pockets and his eyes closed. When he opened them again, they were glowing.

"I hope you enjoyed your hits, cause you won't be landing another one soon." He seemed to growl as his voice carried that same tone from the beginning of the fight. He began to channel his energy into his hands as he prepared a spell of his own. "You took my eyes and ears, now let's see how you do without yours." Then he dashed forward, his hands glowing with electrical energy. Once Sarah was in range, he slammed his hands together. "Thunder Clap!" He shouted as the energy mixed together and created a loud BANG and a blinding light. A short discharge of electrical energy also hit Sarah, but the light and sound is the main effect.

If Sarah managed to dodge this somehow, Blake would simply follow up with a flurry of fast attacks containing lighting magic. If the attack managed to land, he'd rush her in her dazed state and slam into her with his shoulder, sending her across the field. He had lost his patience with that dirty trick and was going to pay Sarah back with interest.

Seeing the lightning mage closing in, Sarah threw her arms up. "Fortifying Void!" she shouted as the Thunder Clap went off. With a normal person, it would be a high powered flashbang. For Sarah, it shorted out her eye due to the the extreme change in light levels and the ambient electrical charge. Even with Fortifying Void active, Sarha was unable to raise a defense, her Void magic the only thing keeping her from taking a huge chunk of damage, and even then the spell could only take so much.

Blake watched as Sarah raised some kind of magical defense. A layer of Void magic seemed to protect her from the bulk of the attack, though it appeared that her mechanical eye had been overwhelmed and had shorted out. Normally, Blake would have stopped the fight because someone had gotten hurt. But he decided to give Sarah the chance to continue if she so desired. He didn't want to call the fight too early.

"Your eye is damaged." He said as he jumped back to give them some distance. "As a member of Fairy Tail, I know you've got plenty of fight in you. But I don't want to injure you any further." Then he took a stance that seemed rather formal. "Do you yield? We can settle this later if you'd prefer."

He crossed his arms in front of him, the electricity in the air jumping from him to the ground. He waited for an answer.

    ---------------------------------------
In the city of Magnolia, one of the citizens peaked out their window to see if the commotion had ceased and whether or not it was safe to come out of their home. They saw the fight may have still been in progress, but something did catch their eye. It was a young man, pushing a Motor Bike down the street. He was heading straight for the Fairy Tail Guild Hall. The citizen lost all color in their face. "Hey! Mister!" She called out to him. "You must be new to town right? I suggest you get off the streets, quickly now." She called out to the young man. Whether or not her warning would be heeded was another matter all together.

    ------------------------------------
Back in some mountainous region of Fiore, in the Tartarus Guild Hall, talk was going around among the members. Some of them were talking about jobs they had pulled off. Other spoke of murders they had committed. But one group was having a conversation, that no one wanted to hear. A young member, relatively new to the guild, was getting over confident. His name, Marcus Cerilium. He was a wizard with strong Iron Make Magic, and a big head.

"I was so close to beating Diablo during my trial. I know if I got the chance, I could really show him. I learned from our fight. I know his weaknesses." He said to some of his fellow members. They tried to quiet him down. "Don't let the boss hear you. He'll punish you for even talking about that." One of the members said. Another one nodded and chimed in. "Yeah, yeah, or worse. He'll just kill you." Marcus shook his head. "He can't kill me! My maker magic will protect me from anything he can throw at me, now that I know his attacks." The other members continued to try and quiet him down.

Unknown to Marcus however, Peter heard every word coming out of his mouth. How he responded to this challenge was his business,
