Basic Story:
Follows the Life of Sophie, Axen and Axel Solace after the incidents of The Dead Man's Call
Things to know:
1. The Twins Aren't pure blooded dragons like their father, so there was discrimination at the beginning, with bullying and all that, but the twins have proved themselves more than formidable as a pair and as individuals, so they are somewhat respected
2. Both twins aren't very social, mostly sticking with their mother, though they do have friends
3. Their Father, Alexander Solace, is a well-known surgeon and is one of the strongest male ice dragons, though he's not the strongest, but part of the guys in the higher ranks
4. The twins are in their senior year, school just started and it's only been two weeks since the start of class
5. Axel is quite the popular one, though he tends to avoid crowds much more than usual. Axen is... pretty much still the same.
6. Their are gangs of young dragons who band up. Similar to your typical status quo cliche except physically attacking each other is allowed.
7. Their high school is named Achiever's Bounty High School, a private school for their kind, though there are a few humans here and there....
-not sure what else to add-
Characters:
(I forgot if we talked about this already, but who's handling Alexander? I already made a profile before realizing. )
Spoiler: Alexander Solace
Name:
Alexander Solace
Age:
37 (looks like he's in his late 20's though. Thank the goddess for slow aging)
Race:
Full-Blooded Ice Dragon
Gender:
Male
Sexuality:
Sophie-Sexual
Personality:
Alexander is the model doctor at his workplace; Serious, composed, calm, collected, good with patients and very responsible. When his family enters the picture, however, he turns into a doting father, a flirty husband and a very expressive man. He tries his best to make time for his children, and makes more time for his wife, often working as hard as he can so he could have time for them as soon as he gets home. He's mostly concerned about his children, since it's taking them quite a while to shift, but chalks it up to Axel not hitting puberty (false, he did but he apparently took after his grandmother's slim physique) and Axen being stubborn (again, false. She's just not concerned about it at the moment.) He does love them to bits and pieces and may be a little overwhelming in the confines of their home.
Recently though, he's worried about his family, especially since both his son and daughter seem distant after he came home one night to find Axel bleeding out on the floor, wife and daughter in hysterics and some weird certificates littering the house.
Appearance:
Spoiler: AlexanderBlond hair, slate gray eyes, Alexander is a fairly tall man, by human standards, reaching a little bit past 6'0. His glasses are mainly there to help him focus when working, since his eyesight is nowhere poor. His body is toned, not overly muscular but toned from flying around with his family in his free time.
His dragon form is gold, about fifteen feet tall when standing and seventeen when sitting. Golden ridges run from the horns on top of his head, flowing straight to his spiny tail. His wings are huge and can cover their house if he tried.
Brief History:
He was an ambitious young dragon in his early days, though his father was a never really there for him and his siblings. His mother, on the other hand, was a workaholic who valued high grades and numbers. This caused him to strive for the best, and to keep his views open. Which is why, compared to his siblings, he was the one who always had a plan, wanted a future and didn't necessarily rebel against their parents.
He and Sophie met at college, and it was love at first sight for him. It wasn't hard to fall in love with her, but he definitely worried about how she would take the news. To him, to his dragon, she was his mate, and he wanted to claim her as such, but didn't want to hurt or harm her. So instead, he showed her his view on things and thankfully, she responded to his calls of love.
When the twins were born, Alexander was the proudest father. He doted on them, to the point that his wife had scolded him for "coddling his hatchlings too much". He was happy to see them grow, to see them fight, to see them raise their heads high and prove that despite being only half-halves, they were just as bit as good as the pure-bloods.
However, when he came home one night, taking an earlier leave than usual since his schedule was clear anyway, he was alarmed to hear screaming from inside the house, the stench of blood filling his nose. He had burst in to see his daughter with wide, frightened eyes (an expression he hadn't seen on her since she was ten) mirroring the horror in his wife's. Axel was on the floor, head on his sister's lap. At first he thought it was the worst, and after they had rushed him to the hospital, he tried to get the complete story from his wife and daughter. Axen didn't speak coherently, obviously worried more about her brother while Sophie was in hysterics, taking all of his power to calm her down.
But that was three days ago. His son had come home. The doctors said that there was some abnormality in his right eye, causing the sclera to turn black. Again, he's worried about his family, but the twins seem intent to pick themselves up, and his wife too, despite the fear-filled flashes that glint in their eyes when one of them wakes up from nightmares, especially his wife. So he just tries his best to be the support they need.
Other:
He still has no idea that his wife is pregnant
Spoiler: Axel Solace
Name:
Axel Solace
Age:
16
Race:
Half-Dragon
Gender:
Male
Sexuality:
Pansexual
Personality:
He's the kind of person to think while acting. The usually sociable Axel had turned a little quiet after the 'incident' as he and his sister called it. He became more reserved, often shying away from crowds more than usual and seems to always be on edge. Despite those changes, he tried to smile, keep up the facade that he was alright and nothing happened, but there are moments when he wakes up screaming and in pain, and moments when he'd space out.
Appearance:
Spoiler: Axel Solace
Axel has silvery locks and light purple eyes, though his right eye has a black sclera. He thinks it's a leftover curse from their time in the school. He had lost weight in the past few weeks, causing him to be slimmer. The smile that was usually on his face is now rare, and his expression is neutral, though he does try to keep smiling around his family.
Brief History:
Axel, and his twin sister Axen, were born into a Dragon clan within the human society. It wasn't very hard for them to fit in, but because they weren't pure dragons, they couldn't shift into their dragon forms yet. This made the twins both sad and angry. Sad because they wanted to be able to fit in with their clan and angry because they couldn't do it. They weren't bad kids, but Axel was pretty known as The cute shortie who could chew your head and feed you to his pets.. He has a reputation of violence, but one glance wouldn't tell you that, not with all his tripping and generally being playful and hot headed.
After the incident, he's been more reserved, not saying a peep about it. His eye was questioned, of course, leading many to think that he had asked for it to be tattooed (the notion of a needle in his eye often sends him running for the bathroom now) but it was easily debunked by a medical certificate. He's still himself, but less active and more inclined to do things on his own than in groups like he did before.
Other:
No, he can't spew fire like most dragons, but he can breathe out ice and frost. Also, he can coat his body with ice to protect himself. Another plus would be his ability to heal other's injuries. Sadly, either power exhausts him so much and he can't heal his injuries at all. He can shift into a full bodied dragon now, but his shoulder still hurts from the shift gone wrong so he's still healing it.
Spoiler: Axen Solace
Name:
Axen Solace
Age:
16
Race:
Half-Dragon
Sexuality:
Heterosexual
Personality:
Sarcastic, annoying, playful, hot headed, smart and stubborn. These are the characteristics of her personality. She's already a strong individual who likes to give terrible first impressions. Not much has changed after the incident, except that she is more guarded now, and definitely less social than before. Axen avoids confrontations like a plague, and when she is left with no choice, her 'encounters' always end up bloodier than usual. She's more aggressive now, and clearly more intimidating, despite gaining a bit more maturity in her body
Appearance:
Spoiler: Axen SolaceAxen is a small girl and she won't deny it. Just like her brother, her hair is silvery, but her eyes are a deeper shade of purple. After the incident, she let her hair tumble down her shoulders more, and there's the noticeable shift in her body. While it would've thrilled her before that her body was getting more effeminate, it didn't seem to do much now.
Brief History:
Axen, and her twin brother Axel, were born into a Dragon clan within the human society. It wasn't very hard for them to fit in, but because they weren't pure dragons, they couldn't shift into their dragon forms yet. This made the twins both sad and angry. Sad because they wanted to be able to fit in with their clan and angry because they couldn't do it. As the more reckless one, Axen got into fights with delinquents and often showed them their place. Once, they even begged her to be the leader. She declined of course, since she said that "Leading is not my thing. Go find someone else". She's not exactly straightforward, but her words also pack a punch.
After what had happened to them, Axen returned to her usual self, though a little colder and more detached. She's still the same, but her aggression is increasing, for no apparent reason. She seems hungrier too, though her father chalked it up to her finally getting closer to accessing her potential as a female dragon who's ready to look for a mate. Axen calls out on his bull though.
Other:
If her brother was ice, then she was a blizzard. Her abilities and setbacks are similar to her brother, which is why the twins are a good team.
Spoiler: Bridgette Adelina Mortcombe
Name:
Bridgette Adelina Mortcombe
Age:
24
Race:
Magma-Earth Dragon
Sexuality:
Heterosexual
Personality:
Sweet, almost nauseatingly so, sugary, kind. Bridgette is the poster girl for Sugar, Spice and Everything Nice. She's well-liked by all, and it's definitely hard to hate her. However, very little people know about how malicious she could get, how dangerous and how downright vengeful the girl could be. She was as two-faced as they come, with her dark side hidden so nicely that no one notices until it's too late.
Appearance:
Spoiler: Axen SolaceBridgette is a tall, young lady with wavy, brown hair and the softest brown eyes. She is said to have a sweet face, and a smile so bright it lit up the room. She always carried this air of quiet elegance around her, bubbly, friendly and full of life, hiding the burning darkness deep inside her.
Brief History:
Bridgette is the eldest daughter of the strongest dragon from the Magma clan, her mother being an Earth dragon heiress herself. While she wasn't a purebreed, one-element dragon, she was still considered strong. In her world, strength signifies your worth, and who else was stronger other than the great Alexander Solace?
She first met Alexander when she was five and he, eighteen. To her, he was charming, unlike the usual barbaric dragons who had visited their home. At that moment, she knew she wanted to be his mate, but was worried because he was thirteen years older. So when, after some time, she learned that he had married, she let her cease its longing. Until she met Sophie that is. The woman was likeable enough, fun company even, but Bridgette didn't like her, not at all. She was unworthy of Alexander. She wasn't even a dragon.
This was enough to plant a seed of hatred in her, but she forced it down, kept on being friends with the couple and was even excited when she learned that Sophie was pregnant. But that friendliness was only skin deep. When the twins were born, all her love was now focused on the small, amethyst eyed bundle of pale skin that was little Axel Solace. The boy reminded her so much of Alexander, yet at the same time, held such softness that made him hard to resist. And so, when he turned thirteen, she had approached him, giving him her good intentions. At that moment, the boy was too confused to answer and merely said no, since he liked someone else at that time (apparently, he liked his family and confused her words with betraying them) before Axen stormed in and demanded she leave her brother alone.
Bitter, embarrassed and utterly angry, the dragonness vowed to the twins that one day, they'll see that the world wasn't a protective bubble. And so, she kept up her facade, acting all sweet and sugar, but kept the hatred simmering in her chest. It was only a matter of time, after all.
Other:
She holds little to no respect for the Impure Ones and often makes it her job to torment halflings.
Lore:
Spoiler: Dragons
There are twelve major Clans; Earth, Fire, Water, Wind, Ice, Electricity, Light, Acid, Smoke, Steel, Magma and Shadows. Each Clan focuses on mainly one element and there are dragons who hail from two different clans. What all clans have in common is the ability to heal using whatever elemental clan they're from.
There are friendly rivalries amongst clans, Light and Shadow clans as well as Fire and Water clans but it's all just that. Friendly. As a group, dragons are sociable and often branch out into different families so it's no surprise for one dragon to be related to another dragon of a completely different clan. In terms of strength, it's based on who can make use of their abilities the most. The Solace family is one of the most well known families in the Ice clan sp that's one major reason for them to be placed upon the spotlight.
Strength is determined yearly; how strong the family or the offsprings are by brawls, which are friendly (most of the time). It's basically just a festival held at the start of the year, after new years where clans come together for some festivities, games and good-natured fighting. It's a healthy exercise though there are some fights that escalate dangerously.
Spoiler: Cure
- The blood of a willing wyvern (specific, Wyverns are less advanced than dragons. They don't talk. They're the animal version of Dragons)
- Memories of Ice (A rare stone found up north)
- The Void Essence of a Pure soul (Tears from a 'pure' spirit/ghost)
- flames of a rainbow
- Wings from a pixie
- A full blood-moon
- Essence of a two-tailed wolf (Either spit tears or maybe blood)
Two-tailed werewolves are rare, and pixies don't have wings, well most of them. The ones with wings are the hostile ones, down west and are said to be myths. Memories of Ice stones take a thousand years to form, and finding one on the snowy ground is only pure luck because those things appear only twice every century. The Rainbow fire is probably the easiest to get, if you find a black phoenix/Death Phoenix, which are rare birds. Phoenixes are rare, but Death Phoenixes are even rarer. As for the blood of a willing Wyvern, they're the mindless version of dragons, and they attack dragons for some reason. And the Void Essence is mainly dark tears, tears of hatred and disgust from a ghost. They're obtained easily from the 'evil' ghosts, but the pure ones? Nah.
The ritual is simple, On the night of the full bloodmoon, The wings of the pixie are pressed on the lower back, held together by the crushed fragments of the Stone. The blood of the wyvern is then mixed with the Void essence and the wolf essence, before forcing the afflicted to drink it. While the moon is high, the wings and the stone must be kept in place as the 'wild fey' travels through the stones, turning it into a weak acid in the process, before corrupting the wings. As soon as the Third Hour strikes, the wings are burned in the Flames, and the fey afflicted with it. It's the last cleansing part since, while there would be no physical injuries, the fire will 'kill' the wild fey inside, burning the wings and the stone but leaving the afflicted fey unharmed. Physically at least.
I'm thinking that's it's the only known cure but the ones who go through the process end up different, and some, kill themselves for reasons no one understands. It has a 70% chance of working and leaving the afflicted unscathed, so there's the 30% chance that the inflicted would end up killing themselves after.
