Default [M][OOC] Skyrim: Rise of the Stormcloaks

    Skyrim: Rise of the Stormcloaks

    Link to IC here.

    The Story:

Ulfric Stormcloak has won the Civil war between him and his followers and the Imperial Empire. The city of Solitude is still in shambles from the invasion and the common people are still wary of them; especially since many still believe in the Empire.

The Stormcloaks have been relentlessly celebrating their new High King's victory at pubs and inns, causing a lot of ruckus and further alienating the common people from them. They reluctantly serve them and their new High King of Skyrim...

    But...

It's only a matter of time before someone sparks-- yet another-- rebellion.

Jarl of Solitude, Lady Elisif, has remained Jarl after her newly acquired city fell. She has claimed to support the new High King Ulfric, but deep down she believes the throne to be rightfully hers and she has many supporters that remain from the Empire. For now, she has decided to yield and accept Ulfric as the High King of Skyrim until the right opportunity presents itself.

    Rules:

Though this will be a Mature roleplay, I ask that you not be overly descriptive (mainly I mean ridiculous). (I'm the Skyrim player that mods the blood off. lol)

Doing the nasty is permitted if you are discreet. Just don't be descriptive with the actual act. Or if you have to play it out, take it to PMs.

Romance in itself is encouraged! I love it. Go for it!

Cursing is fine. Just don't lose your creativity!

I am the GM. What I say goes. My Co-GM will be Fox Xalian who also has such authority in case of my absence.

If you take a while to post and do not give a reason or you don't have any kind of correspondence with anyone for more than a few days, this train will keep on moving. All it takes is a quick message to let us know you are still in the game, but are just being held up by matters beyond your control.

This thread is still a work in progress. Check this post for updates to the story and characters.

Default Jarl Elisif the Fair of Solitude

    Name: Elisif

Title: Jarl Elisif the Fair of Solitude

    Race: Nord

Age: (I'm not sure her actual age) 28

Skills: One handed, Light Armor, Speech

    Appearance:
    Spoiler: Elisif

History: Elisif the Fair was the beloved wife of Torygg, High King of Skyrim, before his death at the beginning of the Stormcloak Rebellion. Following Torygg's death, she took his place as Jarl of Solitude, though the decision on who would assume the role of High King (or Queen) was delayed due to the outbreak of the rebellion. Elisif believed that the throne of Skyrim was her right, as High King Torygg's widow. However, she believed it best not to formally announce her intentions until the rebellion was quashed. She was a popular leader amongst her people, although some of her courtiers had concerns about her young age and inexperience.

Allegiance: Like her late husband, she supported the Empire, and in turn enjoyed the Empire's support as claimant to the throne of Skyrim. It is unknown if she, like her husband, privately worshiped Talos in defiance of the White-Gold Concordat. Elisif herself denied this, but nonetheless requested the Last Dragonborn to place her husband's war horn as an offering at a Shrine of Talos, purportedly because it's what he would have wanted.

    (Source:https://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Elisif_the_Fair)

Personality: Mild and well mannered. Though she can come off as condescending, she always has the best interests of the people at heart.

I'm working on a Dragonborn character, provided that Fox doesn't want to be one.

The basic setup is that it is an Imperial who was born in Morrowind (or what is left of it) and sympathized with the Empire (sort of), but was caught crossing the border (as in the game) and determined that it would be inappropriate for the Dragonborn to become involved in the Skyrim Civil War, so he stayed out of it except for securing a temporary truce so he could slay dragons in peace. After the deed was done and the War was concluded, he offered to become an adviser (sort of a military adviser) to Lady Elisif rather than retire.

This creates tension and uncertainty for the Nords, some of whom view him as a prophetic being/ demigod/ reincarnation/avatar of Talos, especially since he is a worshiper of the Nine Divines and spits at Aldmeri Dominion pointy-ears. Also, he is a magic-user who specializes in Alteration and Mysticism.

On a side note, if I am accepted as the Dragonborn, I would like to work out which side quests my character would have completed. For game reasons, I think that most would not be done, but there may be one or two that I would want to have completed.

Well I'm already the co-GM....but if Lain doesn't mind splitting co-GM and Dragonborn between two people (so I stay co-GM and Imperial is the DB) then I see no problem with that. I basically shoehorned being the DB into my Dunmer character just so it would work. Although I put that no one knows she is.

Thank you to Alice for making my sig and avi <3

    @Imperial

I like your idea. I think perhaps it would work better as the DB.

    @Fox

You can stay Co-GM of course.

    Does that work for everyone?

    Works for me.

I'll post the WIP CS here.
    Name: Artillin

    Title: Dragonborn

    Race: Imperial

    Gender: Male

    Age: 22

    Skills: Alteration, Mysticism, One-handed
    Non-expert: Heavy armor, Block

Appearance: Tall for an Imperial, Artillin stands of equal height to most Nords. A hard life has given him a physique to match most of the men of Skyrim, though he possesses a slimmer, more tightened build. His face is regal by Imperial standards, possessing of well-placed cheekbones and a firm jaw beneath the brown hair that crowns his head. Indeed, his complexion and appearance is so fair that many presume him of royal stock. The only thing that disturbs them are his eyes, which are of a blue-white color which reminds many of wraiths or the deadly ice found in Skyrim's coldest regions.

History: Little is widely known about Artillin, partly because he divulges very little. What is known is that at little under a quarter century before the conclusion of the Skyrim Civil War, Artillin was born on one of the islands that make up the archipelago that are the shattered remains of Vvardenfell. Whether he was a son of a merchant or a beggar adopted by a guard in Ebonheart, Artillin evidently learned martial skills at a young age. When he came of age, Artillin left behind his childhood home and set out to explore the world.

The circumstances of his departure have proven difficult to determine, though it is apparent that he left under the cloud of some scandal and some whisper that he did not leave willingly, but rather was exiled for whatever transgression he had committed. However, he was never branded a criminal and no warrant was ever issued for his arrest, suggesting that it was a matter of personal slights against some nobility or persons of importance. Regardless, the young Artillin was set to wandering for the better part of the next four years, exploring the province of Morrowind before being caught up in the events of the Skyrim Civil War and, ultimately, the return of Alduin.

For an unremarkable individual from a backwater province of the shattered Empire, Artillin had mixed feelings regarding the Skyrim Civil War. Ebonheart, the last meaningful stronghold in Vvardenfell, retained the culture and pride of the Empire of the Third Era. It regarded itself as the last true inheritor of the Empire. Moreover, separated by the entirety of Tamriel from the Aldmeri Dominion, it still practiced the worship of the Nine Divines, including Talos. Indeed, Artillin had learned his swordsmanship from a devout Nord in the Ebonheart Guard.

It was this same Nord, Ingman by name, who told Artillin the old tales of the Nords, including the story of the Dragonborn. Although he was fascinated by the stories, he only believed in them in the sense of knowing enough about magic not to assume the impossibility of anything. It was therefore with a certain grim sense of expectation that he discovered that he was Dragonborn.

Growing up, Artillin learned about justice, honor, and prophesy. Now he found himself balancing the three rather than living by all of them. From the moment he slew the dragon in outside Whiterun and consumed its soul, he realized that he no longer had a choice in which side to join with to fight in the Civil War. That was to say, he could choose neither. As a Dragonborn, his first and foremost responsibility was the banishment of Alduin, the dragons, and any creatures that would threaten Skyrim. Shedding the blood of Men, Mer, and Beast was something only to take up when absolutely needed. Nirn could not afford rogues of his power.

However, though Artillin was acutely aware that he could not interfere in the outcome of the Skyrim Civil War, he knew that he could not fight Alduin alone. After gathering the remaining Blades and securing the permission of the Greybeards, he held a truce summit at High Hrothgar between the Imperials and the Stormcloaks. The two sides agreed to set aside their differences until the matter of the dragons was resolved.

True to their words, the two sides continued their battle with the dragons no longer overhead. The outcome came swiftly: a Stormcloak victory. Aligned as he was, Artillin was uncertain about his position on the outcome. Nevertheless, with his sacred task performed, he accepted that the deed was done. Rather than retire, however, he went to Lady Elisef and offered to be her advisor instead...

    Allegiance: None, current.

Personality: A grim and quiet youth, Artillin is not one to hold his tongue when he feels something needs to be said, but otherwise will say very little. He is unfathomably loyal, but also fully capable of putting logic before form and reason before honor. Not one to take on many friends, Artillin nonetheless is perfectly willing to bring allies to his side when the situation calls for it, knowing that his abilities make him formidable, but not infallible.

    Name: Ali Drel

Title: Ashkhan of New Zainab, Shadow of Boethia

    Race: Dark Elf
    Gender: Female

    Age: 28

Skills: One-handed, Illusion (specialising in Frenzy spells), Alchemy (Frenzy potions)

    Appearance:
    Spoiler: Ali Drel

History: Ali Drel has lived in the New Zainab ashlander camp her entire life, having been born there. The nomadic life of an Ashlander has meant she has lived on the road, traveling around Morrowind until living got to tough there even for them, and onto Cyrodiil. It was here that she found a group of Boethia cultists who called themselves the Shadows of Boethia; they quickly showed her the power of the Daedric Prince of Plots. She fell in with them, mostly using her new found powers to so deceit in Thalmor groups, having entire Justiciar groups fight each other and tear themselves apart, and this was all before her 19th birthday. By the time she had turned 25 the camp had moved again, this time into Skyrim, setting up at the hot springs outside of Kynesgrove. She then saw a new enemy, other than the Thalmor, the Nords who supported Ulfic Stormcloak. Their overt racism against all non-Nords, especially against her fellow Dunmer, grated on her. She went to the near-by Shrine of Boethia and received her Ritual Armour of Boethia, confirming herself as a Shadow of Boethia. She caused trouble for the Stormcloaks, mostly causing the occasional patrol to turn on itself. This didn’t help though, and the Stormcloaks won the Civil War. She went back to work with the rest of her fellow tribes people. One of the times the previous ashkhan went to buy some supplies from another city, they encountered some less then friendly Nords who attacked them. Using her magic, she caused a brawl between their attackers, but the ashkhan was gravely wounded and he handed her his amulet and sword, the badges of office so to speak of an ashkhan. Upon her return, the wise woman named her as the new Ashkhan of New Zainib, and now she has been planning on her next move.

Allegiance: The New Temple of Morrowind (more specifically she worships Boethia), New Zainib ashlander tribe, The Empire of Cyrodiil.

Personality: She is smart and calculating. Not necessarily a bad person, her cunning and slightly devious nature is only amplified by her connection the Boethia, but when she’s not out sowing chaos in the name of her Daedric mistress, she is friendly and kind and loving, especially if you see her in the New Zainib ashlander camp.
