Ulfric Stormcloak has won the Civil war between him and his followers and the Imperial Empire. The city of Solitude is still in shambles from the invasion and the common people are still wary of them; especially since many still believe in the Empire.
The Stormcloaks have been relentlessly celebrating their new High King's victory at pubs and inns, causing a lot of ruckus and further alienating the common people from them. They reluctantly serve them and their new High King of Skyrim...
But...
It's only a matter of time before someone sparks-- yet another-- rebellion.
Jarl of Solitude, Lady Elisif, has remained Jarl after her newly acquired city fell. She has claimed to support the new High King Ulfric, but deep down she believes the throne to be rightfully hers and she has many supporters that remain from the Empire. For now, she has decided to yield and accept Ulfric as the High King of Skyrim until the right opportunity presents itself.
Rules:
Though this will be a Mature roleplay, I ask that you not be overly descriptive (mainly I mean ridiculous). (I'm the Skyrim player that mods the blood off. lol)
Doing the nasty is permitted if you are discreet. Just don't be descriptive with the actual act. Or if you have to play it out, take it to PMs.
Romance in itself is encouraged! I love it. Go for it!
Cursing is fine. Just don't lose your creativity!
I am the GM. What I say goes. My Co-GM will be Fox Xalian who also has such authority in case of my absence.
If you take a while to post and do not give a reason or you don't have any kind of correspondence with anyone for more than a few days, this train will keep on moving. All it takes is a quick message to let us know you are still in the game, but are just being held up by matters beyond your control.
This thread is still a work in progress. Check this post for updates to the story and characters.
Characters
Spoiler: Jarl Elisif the Fair of SolitudeName: Elisif
Title: Jarl Elisif the Fair of Solitude
Race: Nord
Age: (I'm not sure her actual age) 28
Skills: One Handed, Light Armor, Speech
Appearance:Spoiler: Elisif
History: Elisif the Fair was the beloved wife of Torygg, High King of Skyrim, before his death at the beginning of the Stormcloak Rebellion. Following Torygg's death, she took his place as Jarl of Solitude, though the decision on who would assume the role of High King (or Queen) was delayed due to the outbreak of the rebellion. Elisif believed that the throne of Skyrim was her right, as High King Torygg's widow. However, she believed it best not to formally announce her intentions until the rebellion was quashed. She was a popular leader amongst her people, although some of her courtiers had concerns about her young age and inexperience.
Allegiance: Like her late husband, she supported the Empire, and in turn enjoyed the Empire's support as claimant to the throne of Skyrim. It is unknown if she, like her husband, privately worshiped Talos in defiance of the White-Gold Concordat. Elisif herself denied this, but nonetheless requested the Last Dragonborn to place her husband's war horn as an offering at a Shrine of Talos, purportedly because it's what he would have wanted.

Personality: Mild and well mannered. Though she can come off as condescending, she always has the best interests of the people at heart.

Spoiler: Ali Drel, Ashkhan of New Zainab, Shadow of BoethiaName: Ali Drel
Title: Ashkhan of New Zainab, Shadow of Boethia
Race: Dark Elf
Gender: Female
Age: 28
Skills: One-handed, Illusion (specialising in Frenzy spells), Alchemy (Frenzy potions)
Appearance:Spoiler: Ali Drel the Ashkhan
Spoiler: All of them Boethia. Ali Drel in her Shadow of Boethia armour
History: Ali Drel has lived in the New Zainab ashlander camp her entire life, having been born there. The nomadic life of an Ashlander has meant she has lived on the road, traveling around Morrowind until living got to tough there even for them, and onto Cyrodiil. It was here that she found a group of Boethia cultists who called themselves the Shadows of Boethia; they quickly showed her the power of the Daedric Prince of Plots. She fell in with them, mostly using her new found powers to so deceit in Thalmor groups, having entire Justiciar groups fight each other and tear themselves apart, and this was all before her 19th birthday. By the time she had turned 25 the camp had moved again, this time into Skyrim, setting up at the hot springs outside of Kynesgrove. She then saw a new enemy, other than the Thalmor, the Nords who supported Ulfic Stormcloak. Their overt racism against all non-Nords, especially against her fellow Dunmer, grated on her. She went to the near-by Shrine of Boethia and received her Ritual Armour of Boethia, confirming herself as a Shadow of Boethia. She caused trouble for the Stormcloaks, mostly causing the occasional patrol to turn on itself. This didn’t help though, and the Stormcloaks won the Civil War. She went back to work with the rest of her fellow tribes people. One of the times the previous ashkhan went to buy some supplies from another city, they encountered some less then friendly Nords who attacked them. Using her magic, she caused a brawl between their attackers, but the ashkhan was gravely wounded and he handed her his amulet and sword, the badges of office so to speak of an ashkhan. Upon her return, the wise woman named her as the new Ashkhan of New Zainib, and now she has been planning on her next move.
Allegiance: The New Temple of Morrowind (more specifically she worships Boethia), New Zainib ashlander tribe, The Empire of Cyrodiil.
Personality: She is smart and calculating. Not necessarily a bad person, her cunning and slightly devious nature is only amplified by her connection the Boethia, but when she’s not out sowing chaos in the name of her Daedric mistress, she is friendly and kind and loving, especially if you see her in the New Zainib ashlander camp.

(Note: His bow is sheathed along his quiver, he usually wears his swords in an X-shape across his back with the hilts over either shoulder, the war-axes on either hip, and his daggers in an X-shaped double scabbard on the back of his belt along his waist)
History:
Wraith was a child born to the world of Assassins and Thieves. His parents relationship began at cross purposes in the Thalmor Embassy; his mother a Dark Brotherhood Assassin to kill a Thane from Markarth and his father a Nightingale to steal an enchanted necklace and a pair of dossiers from Elenwen. They met each other during their attempts to escape, and the ensuing argument was interrupted by Thalmor guards discovering them.
Their escape afterwards would lead to a romance that would continue from repeated rendevous throughout Skyrim as they each went on about their lives until one particular adventure led to his father's demise after the job ended with his mother pursued by a century of legionnaires out of Solitude.
Nine months later, she died giving birth to Wraith in the Sanctuary west of Falkreath.
The family of Assassins took on the roles of the young child's family, with Astrid and Arnbjorn taking the roles of mother and father. Trained in the deadly arts, he discovered that he had little interest in magic, preferring enchanted weapons and armor to spells, though Festus ensured he learned enough to defend himself from mages.
From the early age of seven until he turned fourteen, the family brought him along on assassinations, giving him instruction on planning and making preparations for jobs, teaching him how to make basic poisons and potions, how to break into homes and businesses, pickpocket, ensuring that not a master by any means, he would be proficient enough to do the jobs the contract would require.
When he was fourteen he took his first solo contract; kill a merchant that would be traveling from Solitude to Falkreath. For three days he stalked his prey, watching the Nord Merchant with his mercenaries from a distance. On the fourth day, as the company set out, Wraith moved among the trees a fair distance a way. A mist had risen from the ground, creating an etheral effect in the forest.
An arrow took the merchant's horse from under him, dumping him unceremoniously onto the ground with the dead beast atop his leg. As the mercenaries drew their weapons another arrow struck the archer in the shoulder, knocking him from his horse and rendering him ineffective. For several moments it seemed the attack had ceased; until an arrow took one of the two warriors attempting to lift the horse off the merchant. And then, as they turned to look for their attacker, one of them shouted and pointed at a young man astride a horse, shrouded in the mist, with a bow across his back.
The Alik'r mercenary charged Wraith, who waited patiently before drawing one of his ebony longswords and nudging his steed into a gallop. At the last second, he swerved to the Alik'r Mercenary's left, deftly deflecting the scimitar and slamming the blade into the Alik'r Mercenary's chest savagely, taking the man from his horse. As the Redguard regained his feet, he looked back to see Wraith's blade slash across the Bosmer's throat, and realized belatedly that had been the young Nord's target all along. Even as he watched, the youthful assassin dismounted and cooly dispatched the merchant with a single stroke.
Then Wraith's cold eyes met the Redguard's, and in spite of his adversary's youth, he knew death had come. This young warrior's body-language matched that of many older warriors, confident and calm.
"Who are you?" the Redguard asked, wishing to know the name of the young man who would take his life.
"Wraith, of the Dark Brotherhood." the young Nord answered, then stabbed the Redguard through the throat.
From the surrounding mist, the rest of the family appeared. Taking the blood from the dead Alik'r, Arnbjorn drew his bloody fingers across Wraith's face. "From now on, you will be the Wraith of the Mist. That is the name you earned here today, and will wear from now until the breath leaves your body, after which it will be sung by the bards. As you live, with every life you take, your legend will grow. Live long, that it may become an epic saga that will be spoken of in the ages to come."
Notable Assassinations: Two Thanes of Solitude, a minor noble of Markarth, a member of the Morag Tong, a member of the Companions, Three Thalmor Justiciars, and a Court Wizard of Morthal
Allegiance: Dark Brotherhood/Imperial
Personality: Wraith maintains a mostly quiet and watchful demeanor, though his tongue can be an equal measure of smooth and bitingly sarcastic. His ability for strategy and tactics are learned through the training he underwent as an assassin, making him as cunning as he is dangerous.
Spoiler: LucineName: Lucine
Title: Knight General of the Sentinel Vanguard, Legate in the Imperial Legion
Race: Redguard/Bosmer/Breton, looks to be Redguard (her father is Redguard but her mother is Redguard/Bosmer/Breton)
Gender: Female
Age: 28
Skills: One-handed, Block, Archery
Appearance:Spoiler: Lucine in her Vanguard armour
History: Lucine, along with her sisters, grew up in an Imperial Legion camp on the border of High Rock and Hammerfell. The daughters of two Generals of the Imperial Legion, they naturally gravitated towards becoming members of the Legion. Lucine followed their father, a Redguard Swords-man, tactition and knight, becoming a warrior and fighting with sword and shield, and doing a small bit of archery as a way to surprise her opponents. Adra took after both her parents, being taught archery, both general archery from her father and the Bosmerii way of archery from her mother. Amber-Lee on the other hand took entirely after her mother, focusing on magic, specifically Conjuration. The triplets were essentially the mascots for their parents combined Legions; Lucine and Adra for their father’s Knights, Archers and Spearmen, and Amber for their mother’s Battlemages, Spell-binders and Witchblades. They found their place just after their 25th birthday, when an Aldmeri strike team attempted a coup in Sentinel, which is where the Sentinel Vanguard was formed. Lucine and Adra took up positions at the large bridge that went over the market area, the Vanguard Knights standing on the ground, forming ranks between the large stone pillars; with Adra’s Shadows of Sentinel taking up positions on top of the bridge, as well as harassing the Aldmeri as they tried to cross the Al’kir Desert and entre on the side of the Market. Amber and her Magisters on the other hand were near the mage’s Guild and Fighter’s Guild area, helping to evacuate civilians and VIPs to the docks, as well as organising healers for the two groups, and fighting the Aldmeri mages who tried to break through the coastal lines. After the fighting was done, the Sentinel Vanguard was victorious. A few years later the triplets were sent, in secret, up to Skyrim to help against Ulfric Stormcloak, but have since gone into hiding, rumours of secret training camps in the mountains near Dragonbridge abound, but no such camps have been found, only the occasional hunter camp, one of which contains a Redguard, a Bosmer and a Breton.
Allegiance: Vanguard of Sentinel, Imperial Legion
Personality: Lucine, along with her sisters, are leaders, mostly from their upbringing, but in Lucine’s case it has more to do with her predominant Redguard blood. She is very good at tactical thinking and drawing up plans for troop positions. She also is tenacious, and finds it hard to give up when her back is against the wall, or when victory is assured, but she isn’t reckless, she will fall back if need be.
Spoiler: AdraName: Adra’liana (Adra for short)
Title: Ranger General of the Shadows of Sentinel, Tribune in the Imperial Legion
Race: Redguard/Bosmer/Breton, looks to be Bosmer
Gender: Female
Age: 28
Skills: Archery, One-handed, Lockpicking
Appearance:Spoiler: Adra in her Engraved Bosmer armour
History: Same as Lucine
Allegiance: Vanguard of Sentinel, Imperial Legion
Personality: Aside from her leadership abilities, Adra is a very cunning girl. She has been invaluable to Lucine’s inner circle and has outwitted even the most well-trained of Aldmeri tacticians. She is a relatively quiet person, but when she has to she can berate soldiers to the point where, in the words of some Nords and Dunmer she has trained, their ancestors came down to help her berate them. She comes off as the mean one sometimes, but is probably just as friendly as Lucine.
Spoiler: AmberName: Amber-Lee
Title: Mage General of the Magisters of Sentinel, Tribune in the Imperial Legion
Race: Redguard/Bosmer/Breton, looks to be Breton
Gender: Female
Age: 28
Skills: Conjuration, One-handed, Enchanting
Appearance:Spoiler: Amber in her Ebony mage robes
History: Same as Lucine
Allegiance: Vanguard of Sentinel, Imperial Legion
Personality: The talkative and smart one. Amber is possibly the friendliest of the triplets, and the one who sees things differently, which isn’t hard when you can summon a couple of pissed off atronarchs to wail on an enemy. Her friendliness seems to hide her power, and her tendency to act without thinking sometimes, much to the annoyance of her sisters.
Spoiler: Starkad Long-Fang, Ice Wolf, Dragonborn (ON HIATUS)
Name: Starkad Long-Fang
Title: Ulfhaednar, Ice Wolf,
Race: Nord
Gender: Male
Age: 30
Skills: Two-handed weapons, Block, Smithing
Appearance: Starkad stands at a staggering 6’7” and weighs in at roughly 235 pounds. His physique of steely cables and ridges beneath a scarred hide. His hair is flaxen like beaten gold with wings of silver beginning to spread at the temples. A furious eye like blue chips of ice from the Throat of the World itself burn within its shadowed socket. His skin is crisscrossed with scars from his years fighting the puppet Empire and its allies. Around his bull-neck he wears a leather chord adorned with sabercat teeth, a snarling amulet dangling just beneath his collarbone. Starkad's stony face is lined like a man who has known both great mirth and melancholy, happiness and hardship.
Spoiler: Art by Yours Truly
I'll be updating as time goes on. For now, just lineart.
Spoiler: Fury of the Ice Wolf – Warning: Blood
Spoiler: HistoryBorn and reared of Skyrim, Starkad was the eldest-bred son of the House Long-Fang, a respected clan known for rigorous adherence to ancient tradition. They were a family of true Nords, as much a part of Skyrim as the tundra and the unmelting snows girdling the Sea of Ghosts. Long-Fang Hall is a hearth and home well-removed from the cities and Holds, nestling itself in the mountainous between Hjaalmarch and the Pale. It was here that Starkad learned his use of the sword and axe, the rush of combat and the thrill of the hunt. It was an austere and spartan upbringing, but it was all part of the great riddle that was life.
Every Sundas, Starkad would join his father on his cart to Morthal, trading pelts and lumber for fish, produce, and other necessities. Whenever Imperials made their way through, young Starkad ensured he was bold and boisterous in his cursing of them, just as he was taught. They were usurpers, unworthy of their hold on Starkad's beautiful homeland. As Stakad aged, this youthful energy was hammered into pointed aggression. He partook in rallies against Imperial displays of dominion, setting fire to standards, defacing effigies of the puppet emperor, and pelting legion patrols with rocks and rotten vegetables.
Once ushered into adulthood, Starkad was gifted the Long-fang, the heriloom sword of their clan. To bear it in service to Jarl Ulfric, the true High King, was an honor beyond expression. During his service, Starkad was present through the burgeoning days of the rebellion, the years leading up to the explosion of conflict and open revolution. He was there at the battle of Whiterun, the innumerable assaults on fortresses, encampments, and even the sacking of Solitude. He partook in songs of victory as often as toasts to the honored dead.
During the middle of the Stormcloak campaign, Starkad had been courting a woman he met while soldiering. She found a strong man in a uniform scrumptious, and Starkad was enchanted by the woman's lithe grace. Both knew Starkad's family would never approve, and if word got out, their clandestine rendezvous would end in fire. So they played the sly game, sometimes going months without seeing each other. How sweet the nights were after such absence...
However, life in Skyrim is never easy, and it is never fair. Seeing Starkad in the present is like seeing the ghost of the man he once was. It wasn't the war that broke him, but what followed. Following the victory of Ulfric, Starkad moved to the Reach. Those along the road saw him not with his lady-love, but a mewling child swaddled in furs. His posture was crooked, burdened beyond hauling their measly cart. What people saw was a man kept together by the love of his child, nothing more.
There, in the Reach, Starkad build a humble little home for himself and his daughter, whom his late lover had named "Mara", after her preferred goddess. Starkad would hunt for meat and pelts, teach Mara how to fish and till soil, keeping as far away from any side of the war as they could. Every time a caravan passed, or a hunting party of Forsaken stalked through, Mara wished to go play. Every time it broke Starkad's heart, but he couldn't let her go beyond their fenced garden. Skyrim belonged to the Nords, but it was no less perilous. Oftentimes, after a cask of ale, Starkad wondered if he simply traded on tyrant for another. Nothing changed, but things had only gotten worse for him.
Allegiance: Stormcloak, though he has lost much – if not all – of his enthusiasm.
Personality: Once, Starkad was a shining example of what a true son of Skyrim should be. Strong of body, mind, and will. He was a patriot and a worshipper of Talos, proudly wearing his loyalty to Skyrim on his sleeve. A man of great mirth, he could commonly be seen boasting in the mead halls and taverns. But there is a vague shadow left of that Nord.
The loss of Mara's mother struck a primal cord inside Starkad, not only taking his right eye, but much of the joy he felt among his kinsmen has faded, his patriotism left in the ruin the war left behind. Now, he only really smiles when speaking to Mara, playing the part of dutiful and doting father proudly. With her, the pains of the past are numbed and the bleakness of Skyrim fades outside the realms of perception.
However, fatherhood was not universally calming to Starkad. He is a man damaged and downtrodden, beaten to the point of shattering by circumstances. Starkad is a man who no longer speaks to his gods out of resentment, a man who has something bile-black churning in his core. Burning in his remaining eye is rage gone rampant, a hatred and contempt turned to a savage and cold battle-rage from which even the Forsaken flee.

Race: Dunmer
Gender: Female
Age: 250
Skills: Sneak, One-Handed, Alchemy

(2) Engraved Shamshir
(2) Merta Daggers (designed similar to the Mehrunes Dagger)
One-handed Crossbow
Appearance:
(Armor)
(Hood and Armor)
Casual Wear
History:
Born in Ravenrock, Talon was selected at an early age to become a member of the Morag Tong. She served honorably for years, helping the Noble Families of Morrowind kill each other, becoming the right-hand of the Master of her chapter. For over two centuries, she was their top assassin in Solstheim.
Then one day, while on an assignment to eliminate a nobleman in Raven Rock, a member of the Dark Brotherhood interfered. Even outnumbered, the Dark Brotherhood Assassin slew two of her comrades and forced her to retreat.
Upon her return to her Master, she found that she had been declared a traitor for her failure not only to kill her target, but for failing to kill the Brotherhood Assassin as well. She was led away to jail to await her execution.
The guards threw her into the cell unceremoniously, locking the door behind her. Strangely, the torch was unlit. Hearing movement behind her, she turned and saw a shadow stir, then the Dark Brotherhood Assassin appeared. She stepped forward and feinted with her left, then he caught her right hook only to accept a knee to his midsection. Suddenly she found her wrist caught and her body spun around against his, her arms pinned to her chest, and his breath in her ear.
"I have a proposal to make if you're willing to stop attacking me." he said, then shoved her away. "It would appear that the Morag Tong have turned on you. They plan to execute you, yes?"
"It is our way." she said, putting her back to the wall as she faced him, crouched low in a fighting stance though she made sure not to make any moves against him. "I failed in my mission, and I failed to kill the man who slew two of my brethren. I deserve to be punished."
The Brotherhood Assassin raised an eyebrow. "You failed in your mission because you unexpectedly found an enemy Assassin who was skilled to kill not one, but two of your men while fighting all three of you at once. And you managed to escape him to alert your Master. I wouldn't call that failure." he said, leaning against the wall opposite of her and crossing his arms.
"You managed to find me here, so that means you likely followed me to our hideout as well and identified my master and other Morag Tong. I led an enemy to our midst. While they may not know that, it is still a failure on my part." Talon said, straightening slowly. "Tell me why I shouldn't call them now so that they may find you."
"Eighteen. That's how many guards are between here and the front door. Nearly a dozen more that would respond once I'm out of here. That's almost thirty enemies. You call for them, the first three-to-five enemies will die without even seeing me. Even after that, the hallways wouldn't allow more than two to engage me at any time, and you know how that would turn out, even if I was alone." he replied, the smile evident in his voice. "I notified a few of my family members. They're here to ensure things go smoothly."
Standing up straight, he walked over to the cell door, and looked to make sure the guard that had been sitting at a table not far from her cell was still asleep. "I propose that you join the Dark Brotherhood. Together we can avenge the wrong that has been done to you, and then you can either return to Skyrim with me or part ways. Either way it's up to you."
"Why would I do that? It's your fault that I'm in here." Talon said, watching his actions with interest. "Did you poison the guard?"
He turned back to her, amused. "Just a sleeping potion."
"Your Master is having you executed for failure; but you did not fail. Your target was already dead, and there was nothing to give you any indication of the Brotherhood's presence in Skyrim. In spite of that, you survived and gave him warning; one that would give the Morag Tong a distinct advantage in hunting me. Instead he's punishing you." he shrugged. "Someone skilled as you are shouldn't be discarded so easily. I want to offer you a place in the Brotherhood."
Talon shook her head. "How do you know that you can trust me? Morag Tong and the Dark Brotherhood are mortal enemies. How could you know that I'm not going to betray you?"
"Guess we'll find out. So you'll join us?" he asked, sounding even more amused. Without waiting for an answer he moved the wood in the fireplace and lifted the grate beneath. "The way's already been cleared. No Ash Spawn or bugs to bother us."
Rolling her eyes, Talon followed, closing the grate behind her. "That's how you got into my cell, isn't it? she muttered, shaking her head at how far he'd planned ahead. "How did you know this was here?" she asked.
"I have a tendency to make multiple plans for my jobs, and there's always one that includes me getting caught and imprisoned. So I scout them out for weaknesses before I do the job. This leads out of a cave just outside of Raven Rock. From there we can go Northeast and head around a ridge that we can jump from onto the wall, move closer to the docks, jump down, and get on the boat to Windhelm." he said casually over his shoulder, obviously not worred about her being behind him.
She stopped and stared at him for a moment, then shook her head yet again and continued to follow him until suddenly they stepped out into the night. Looking around, it took her a moment to let the fact that they were surrounded sink in. Straight ahead of them was her Master, hands behind his back. Six assassins stood around them, four of them with arrows leveled at the two even as the other two wielded swords.
"A Dark Brotherhood Assassin assisting a former member of the Morag Tong. I wouldn't believe it if I wasn't here. And Talon, to see you fall so far that you betray us..." The Master stepped forward, shaking his head at it all. "And you, Brother, who are you? What is the name of the Assassin who dares to attack the Morag Tong?"
Pulling back his hood, the Assassin lowered his mask to reveal a smile. "I am Wraith, Listener of the Dark Brotherhood. Would I be right in assuming that you're the Master of this particular group of amateurs?"
"Amateurs?" The Master laughed, clapping his hands. "I see the arrogance of the Brotherhood is still alive and strong. You swagger in, kill two of my members, and now, surrounded, believe you will walk away?"
"Sounds about right to me." Wraith said, then gave a slight nod. Right on cue, a fireball exploded on either side, killing the swordsmen and knocking the archers aside, making their shots ineffective. Nazir and Gabriella stepped out of the shadows and dispatched the archers.
"And now you're going to kill me, I presume?" The Master asked, face turning stoic.
"No. She is." Wraith said, pointing to Talon. "You turned against your Assassin for escaping a situation she was unprepared for and warning you. You claim she failed, and yet..." he threw his hands up. "Her and the others were ambushed. And as you've just witnessed, that's a specialty of mine. It was the Morag Tong who failed her."
Talon looked from Wraith to her former Master, realization dawning on her. This was how he intended for her to prove herself loyal to the Brotherhood. If she did this, it would permanently sever her ties with the Morag tong. It was cunning, really, she had to give him credit for that. She nodded. "Yes, they did."
Nazir handed her a pair of Shamshir, then stepped back. Talon swing a couple of circles, testing their weight. They were very well balanced, light, and cut through the air with a whistling sound. Gripping their hilts, she looked to the Master to see he had drawn a pair of wakizashi.
She stalked forward, moving lithely on the balls of her feet. Knowing he would wait, she took a quick step to the right and feinted with a strike to the right, then left, ducked under his counter-strike and kicked his knee. The Master moved into the stuble and swung upward, knocking aside one of her blades and bringing he other blade to nick her arm. Talon stepped back, and used her other blade to swipe both of his to the left, then reversed the stroke to cut a line across his stomach.
There was no talking, no exhange of words even to acknowledge their attacks. They danced around each other, each seeking a weakness. Both were skilled, and neither held a true advantage over the other. They weaved and turned, an endless stream of parries and counterstrikes that alternated in tempo. Then, the Master slipped up. He over-extended on a counter to a particularly strong counter-attack. Immediately Talon seized the opportunity and stabbed through his wrist, flicking it upward to deflect his second blade before stepping close and shoving him backwards.
She dropped one of the Shamshirs to grab onto his injured arm, pulling it up and back even as she withdrew the sword and angled the cut across his throat. Stepping back and gaping for breath, bleeding from a dozen cuts, she looked to Wraith, who nodded. "Alright then, welcome to your new home. Let's patch you up once we're on the water, yeah?"
Notable Assassinations: Two Thanes of Windhelm, a Pyromancer, A Ship Captain, a Court Bard, and a Master Vampire
Spoiler: Aura The RebirthName: Aura
Title: The Rebirth
Race: Snow Elf
Gender: Female
Age: 100
Skills: Archery, Destruction Magic, Heavy Armor
Appearance: Aura is tall, as most elves in Skyrim are, around 5' 11". Her skin is a sparkling white, like the snow that is blanketed all across Skyrim. Her eyes are a very pale blue, nearly white like the rest of her. Her hair is shoulder length and smooth and straight. She often wears it halfway up in braids so that the hair is out of her eyes. Medium chested and medium hipped, she looks like most High Elves, except for being completely and totally white from head to toe. She often wears a hood to conceal that she is a Snow Elf.
Spoiler: Headshot
History: Aura is one of the last snow elves. No one knows for sure how many are left, but the only other known living snow elf is Knight-Paladin Gelebor, who guards the Chantry of Auri-El. Aura was given to Gelebor as a kind of peace offering from the Falmer after many years of Gelebor working to restore communications with them. He had no idea that Aura had been born to the Falmer, as a kind of fluke of genetics and continued to have no idea for 100 years. He was so enthralled with her appearance that he named her after the Deity he worshiped and protected.
When Aura was given to him, she was partially blind, having started to turn after living underground all her life. Strangely enough, the blindness subsided in only a few months as she spent more time with Gelebor and in patches of sunlight, learning the common language and archery. Archery was easy for her. Not only because her eyesight was returning, but because her other senses had heightened being underground in the dark for so long.
Gelebor was, of course, in love with her; and it was understandable because he desired to see their true race return. She did as well, but she couldn't see him as anyone other than perhaps a father figure. It made her incredibly uncomfortable and Gelebor could see that. For the most part, he kept his feelings to himself, hoping that she would one day, change her mind.
That day seemed as though it would never come. One day, recently, Gelebor discovered that she had found her way out of Darkfall Cave... without a trace.
With the newfound alliance in jeopardy, the Falmer have begun to return to the surface to find her, since Gelebor cannot leave the Chantry.
Allegiance: None
Personality: Insecure and afraid, having no idea what Skyrim will hold for her, she is skittish and quick to pull a bow on someone the moment they notice she is a Snow Elf or the moment she thinks she hears or smells a Falmer coming to look for her. Her mother tongue is Falmer, so she has a very limited knowledge of the language of Skyrim and speaks it in broken sentences.

Spoiler: Templar Isus Makarus (NULL)Name: Isus Makarus
Title: Templar
Race: Imperial
Gender: Male
Age: 29
Skills: Mysticism, Heavy Armor, One Handed
Appearance: In spite of being from common Imperial stock, Isus is noteworthy for being built much like a Nord, with a great deal of muscle and broad shoulders. His bland, almost featureless expression at times suggest a peasant heritage, but the high, sharp cheekbones and piercing gaze of his sky-blue eyes make him appear much like a noble, an opinion enhanced by his regal bearing.
History:
Isus was born in Vvardenfell, or what was left of it, in Morrowind. The son of a traveling merchant, he experienced tragedy early in his life, losing his parents to a frenzied attack by cliff racers and one of his two sisters to Bosmer and Dunmer. The orphaned Imperial children were taken in by an Imperial merchant family in the rebuilt fortress-city of Ebonheart, which had survived the ravages of the Red Mountain’s destruction by the grace of the Divines. Although his sister found happiness in time, Isus started walking down a much darker path when he was rescued by one of the Ebonheart Garrison who, together with the Garrison’s chief priest, took him under the wing of the military arm of the city. There Isus quickly grew to be a respected sailor and battle-mage, in spite of his tender age. Still, the ghosts of Isus’ past continued to haunt him. Combined with his headstrong nature, the Imperial chose to follow the path of the Templar when he came of age, in spite of the warnings of his mentors.
Upon his coming of age and his induction into the ranks of the fabled ranks of the warrior-priests, Isus’ priest mentor presented him with the armor of his calling and, reluctantly, charged him with the holy missions of the Divines. From that point forward, Isus traveled the width and breadth of the sundered province of Morrowind, aiding those citizens who remained loyal to the Empire. Eventually he followed his calling beyond the provincial borders, embarking on quests that took him far from Ebonheart, though he would always return. It was during one of his travels that he fell in with a group of Men, Beast, and, to his chagrin, Mer, who were on a holy quest to locate the Lord’s Mail. Filled with religious fervor by their words, he agreed to accompany them.
The quest for the Lord’s Mail took the group far and wide over Tamriel, testing the patience and faith of those on the path. Some were claimed by illness or disease while others fell to dangers encountered along the way and still others abandoned the quest. Yet Isus remained determined and, in a cruel gesture of fate, the path led them back to Morrowind, to Vvardenfell. Still, home territory proved no less dangerous than foreign, and by journey’s end, only Isus remained, tracking the last clue to the ruins of a small backwater outpost, an old port for penal intake, called Sayda Neen. There, in a shack pressed into the back of the village, which by now was little more than a pile of decaying wood, he found a corpse. The flesh had rotted away long ago, leaving just moisture-eroded bones. Bones, and a rune-etched gauntlet: Wraithguard. He took it.
There were no other clues to the location of the Lord’s Mail in Seyda Neen and so Isus was forced to accept that the quest has been a failure. He returned to Ebonheart for a time, but was compelled by the demons of his past to wander once more. And so he did, once more crossing the continent in service to the Divines, never staying in one place long enough to be caught by his ghosts. His path eventually led him to Skyrim, where he had been told that there were many dangers to banish. That suited him just fine.
Allegiance: Ebonheart (Vvardenfell, Morrowind)
Personality: Isus is taciturn by nature, zealous by profession, and xenophobic by experience.
Spoiler: Liam Leoncourt, The Bastard of DaggerfallName: Liam Leoncourt
Title: The Bastard of Daggerfall
Race: Breton
Gender: Male
Age: 20
Skills: One Hand, Destruction and Speech
Appearance:
Liam is considered tall and surprisingly muscular for a Breton, standing at around six feet tall and weighing around 180lbs, the majority of which is lean muscled. Possibly his most defining characteristic physically, is his eyes - they shine a strikingly bright shade of green, similar to that of a flawless emerald that stands out amongst his reasonably pale skin. Added to his blonde, almost silver hair, he definitely stands out amongst the courtiers in Solitude.
One more thing... Strapped to his waist is a bastard sword of intricate design, forged in the Imperial City by a master blacksmith. The hilt and cross guard are adorned with rubies and molded into the shapes of lions, and words written in old Breton script are engraved into the blades hilt:
"En l’honneur, force. (In Honor, Strength)
En Diligence, dignité. (In Diligence, Dignity)
Mort, paix. (In Death, Peace)"
In reference to his occupation as a Sworn Shield to Solitude, he affectionately named the weapon Duty.
History: Born 19 years before the Skyrim Civil War, Liam was the bastard son of Thierry Leoncourt, a wealthy diplomat in service to the Crown of High Rock. With four older siblings set to inherit the family name and estates, Liam had next to nothing to look forward to in life prior to his seventh nameday, where he was sent to squire for an esteemed knight in Wayrest - Gerard Robespierre.
The young squire was sent to the city and quickly took up the way of the sword, taking to it like a fish to water. With an adept ability to strike precisely and possessing cat like reflexes utilised to dodge incoming attacks by his dueling partners, the lad quickly attained a reputation as the next best swordsman in the city, something the higher ups in court started to recognise. On his sixteenth name day, he was anointed a knight in service to the Crown, achieving something he never thought he'd be able to do - make his father proud of him.
Then the Skyrim Civil War started and Ulfric Stormcloak rose up...
Liam was quickly dispatched by the Crown to the city of Solitude, publicly as an envoy to help Jarl Elisif and the Imperial war effort. Privately, he was to act as a spy, to learn everything about the stability of Skyrim's political state for the possibility of a future invasion to reclaim the city of Markarth. This however, was unnerving to the lad. He was a soldier, a knight! Not a spymaster, or an agent or an assassin. He was to show the virtues of honesty, diligence and bravery in battle, not squandering his time scheming and plotting like a Thalmor agent in an Imperial court.
Tired of feeling like he was being used by the Breton crown, he knelt before Jarl Elisif and informed her of the real reason he was in the city, tears running down his cheeks. Apologetically, he swore he would be honored if he could become a member of her guard, to not only redeem himself in her eyes, but to finally get the chance to prove to the world that there were still examples of gallantry, chivalry and courage, despite the chaos that was present. For a time, there was silence in the room, save for the sound of people breathing... Until she smiled slightly and said yes.
He was to finally pursue his dream...
A few weeks passed without nothing major until a courier informed the man that a gift had arrived from the Imperial City, addressed from a friend. Inside an ornately crafted scabbard was a blade of glistening steel, adorned with gems and rubies yet it was clear that the weapon was as sharp as a razor - it was from his father. Resting on the scabbard, was a note written in Bretonnian script. It read as follows:
"My dearest, most beloved son,
I have never before told you of my pride at how much you have achieved in such a short amount of time. You went through the adversity of living through my shame of dishonoring my lady wife, yet bared no ill will towards me or your half siblings, instead choosing to carve and mould your own path in this world and for that I am immensely proud of you my boy.
Remember your roots, remember your morals and most importantly, strive to do exactly what you wish to do. I love you Liam, do us all proud.
Sincerely, Father."
With tears running down his cheeks, and glowing with pride, the Bastard of Daggerfall unsheathed the blade and held it in his hands, whispering to himself shakily and with determination:
"I will Father... I promise..."
And so, the story of Liam Leoncourt began...
----------
Allegiance: Liam holds no real allegiances to either the Empire or the Stormcloaks, instead opting to follow whoever Jarl Elisif believes will help. As a result, he rarely trifles with the politics at court... Unless it requires his blade or his magic.
- Jarl Elisif (Major)
- King Ulfric Stormcloak (Indirectly through Jarl Elisif's vassalage under the man.)
- Kingdom of High Rock (Formerly)
- House of Leoncourt
Personality: Liam strives to show the chivalric code of honor, bravery and kindness - as a result, he is relatively kind to everyone regardless of social status, loyal to the point of foolishness and is one of the only people in court who will openly try to defend the plights of the small folk.
He does have his problems though. His naivety and loyalty means he tries to see the good in people, something that has led to his exploitation numerous times. Furthermore, his sense of morality more often than not clouds his judgement and leads to him being unable to make major decisions himself without feeling guilty about the consequences.
Spoiler: Che Daro (ON HIATUS)Title: Che Daro
Race: Orsimer
Gender: Female
Age: 24
Skills:
Due to her Orsimer ethnicity, Che is more physically predisposed to excel in combat rather than the magical arts. As such, she mostly relies on her weaponry (as well as the natural orcish physical fortitude) for blocking and protection. She owns a set of carved iron blades that are more suited for close combat; yet these blades may double as a spear when attached to a spear pole... or simply be used as throwing knives. She is able to use the knives in both hands, but is slightly more efficient in her left. (Note: her throw and thrust are both especially powerful when she experiences what is known as Orc Berserker Rage, which often comes over her when she has adrenalin rushes.)
However, just because she is less genetically predisposed to magical skills than some other races does not mean that she is completely devoid of them. Che is moderately able to use the skill of healing restoration, to aid herself or those she cares about.
Appearance:
Spoiler: Che’s Appearance
One who happens upon Che will notice a pair of deep set, mistrustful eyes that shine an intense golden colour when in the light. Che's skin tone is considered strange to some: it is the typical olive of her race, with hints of ashen grey pigmenting it. She has very prominent lower canines that protrude from her mouth, even when it is closed. Her hair is long and thick, jet black, and much more coarse than the fine hair of elves and humans. She is very slender and of less than average height (for an orc), yet still slightly taller than most females of other races.
History:
Orcs are a fiercely loyal race. This loyalty to each other has historically lead them to shutting out the rest of the world, isolating themselves from 'the hostility of other races.' Their somewhat ghoulish appearance was never fully accepted; especially by the humans and the elven, who seemed to consider themselves more attractive in every sense of the word. Thus, few races were truly trusted by the orcs, much of which being directly due to the negligent treatment of their kind in the past.
Che grew up in this climate of distrust within an Orc community. However, against the tendency of her people, she broke off from the Orsimer for personal reasons, and has been a nomad around Skyrim ever since. She has spent the majority of her time thus far amongst the Khajiit - amongst whom she has made her closest friends and confidants. She therefore has little patience for any hint of discrimination towards her friends, and is fiercely protective over the Khajiit people, in general.
Allegiance:
Che concerns herself little about the greater happenings of Skyrim, instead caring far more about the direct circumstances of her inner circle. She thus has no official allegiance, and finds it hard to be anything but extremely apathetic towards both the Empire and the Stormcloaks. To her, they are of little difference - both historically have treated the Orsimer as an after-thought, and the Khajiit like absolute garbage. So what were either to her? Her loyalty was much better spent towards the few who deserve it.
Personality:
Che is a rather private individual, who tends to mind her own business. As a general rule, she treats others the way that they treat her. She offers respect to those who offer it to her, and hostility to those who do not. Thus, she can be courteous to one person yet sardonic to another, and all within a single conversation. She tries to stay away from generalising or judging a person until she gets to know them, however, as she has experienced what it feels like to be judged by appearances. This, in turn, has caused her to become quite a guarded individual who opens up to few. (She seems to have a close kinship to her quiet Khajiit companion, however.)
Spoiler: Jo'sha Sanair (ON HIATUS)Title: Jo’sha Sanair
Race: Khajiit
Gender: Male
Age: 22
Skills:
Thanks to his inherent feline physicality, Jo’sha is a very stealth individual who exhibits excellent agility and night vision. On top of this, he has trained with his father in archery since he was a child - a hobby that he has found great joy in.
Appearance:
Spoiler: Jo’sha’s Appearance
Jo’sha is a young male Khajiit - broad-shouldered, toned, of average height. His overall look is akin to a humanoid version of the great mountain cat, the lynx. He has slanted yellow eyes, pointed black ears, and taupe fur that is soft to the touch. Whether he smiles or grimaces, a set of sharp teeth are bared, glistening white. He also has claws on all four appendages, which he keeps contracted almost all the time. (He would just hate it if anyone ever felt threatened because of them.)
History:
Jo’sha grew up as the oldest of seven children, in a poor Khajiit family in Skyrim. While he has always been greatly interested in schooling, he was often unable to attend all of his classes due to his family’s poverty. (He was pulled from school at times to help his father bring more income to the family, while his mother was busy tending to his six younger siblings.) He thus did his best to do some reading in his own time, through borrowed school books.
While it was this lifestyle that ultimately instilled a great work ethic in him, he has also always yearned for something better. Jo’sha seeks to be the best man that he can be, especially since he hopes to win over Lhaksi - a Khajiit beauty who he had deeply admired from afar, for many years. However, hailing from a lower class, he had found it difficult to approach her with much confidence, considering her to be above someone like him.
Allegiance:
His ultimate allegiance is to his people, the Khajiit - to the protection and preservation of all in his village. Those who he considers friends and family are precious to him, and he would defend them at all costs.
However, in general, Khajiit hold a negative view of the empire. This is very much due to the second class status that they have experienced under their leadership in the past. As for these mysterious new Stormcloaks - who knows what to think of them? Jo’sha and the Khajiit are all patiently waiting to see how the they will be affected by this sudden and unexpected shift in power. Many remain hopeful that the Rise of the Stormcloaks will create a better situation for the Khajiit. A few amongst them, however, fear that they will only be marginalised further under the new leadership.
Yet, only time will tell.
Personality:
Jo’sha is a polite man of few words. He is the so-called silent type; gentle of heart, yet strong of body. He has always waxed poetic, excelling in music; and is quite the hopeless romantic. He genuinely tries to put his best foot (paw?) forward at all times, hoping this practice of good manners could help break the negative stereotypes that are commonly held about his race.
However, he can also often be rather self conscious of himself - in particular his more cat-like mannerisms - as they are seen as bestial in Skyrim. So, out of embarrassment, he tries to cover them up (for instance, he will stifle the urge to purr when he is pleased with something). Ultimately, Jo’sha simply desires to not be seen as animalistic, but rather as the man that he feels he is.
Spoiler: Jo'karName: Jo'kar
Race: Kahjiit
Gender: Male
Age: 32
Skills: One Handed Sword, Block, and Restoration.
Appearance:
Spoiler:
History: Jo'Kar used to live in his own homeland. Elsweyr. He served under many lords as a guard. And during his time as a guard, he learned a few magic tricks from magic wielders. Although one day, he failed his duty to protect one lord. His actions were never forgiven when his enemy had snuck under his nose to assassinate the one he sworn to protect.
His crime was high and he had a choice. To serve his time in prison for life. Or to become Exile. Jo'Kar had preferred to breath fresh air, so he made the easy choice and lived in exile. After travelling so far, he found a caravan of other Khajiit. They were looking for warriors to protect them on the harsh roads to Skyrim. A ripeful picking for trade and sells.
During one of their travels. They took a short cut route to Solitude. What they didn't know, was the battle between the Stormcloaks and the Imperials. Jo'Kar defended his brethren from attacks from both sides. When the Imperials were driven from the field. The Stormcloaks tried to take from the Khajiit, but the Khajiit refused to be bullied. And in seconds, they were slaughtered. Jo'Kar survived by both anger and hate. In due time, he joined the Imperials to avenge his fallen brethren.
Even after the war was over, Jo'Kar had refused to believe the Imperial had lost. He still searches ways to avenge his dead brothers and sisters.
Allegiance: His loyalty still lies with The Empire of Cyrodiil. Though he created a small guerilla group to attack small patrols and supply routes for the Stormcloaks.
Personality: Jo'Kar used to be a wise and kind Khajiit, but since his encounter with the Stormcloaks. He grew into a more aggressive person with a lot of anger. He tends to yell at his men in order to keep them alive, and it works. He keeps to himself so he would not become attach to anyone ever again. Though he still cares about his men under his command.
Spoiler: Reila DesadesName: Reila Desades
Title: Second in command of the Rebels
Race: Imperial
Gender: Female
Age: 26
Skills: When she was a child. She was taught the skills of bow. When she was in her pre-teen years, she was taught how to handle a sword, and eventually took upon learning to duel wield. During her training, she was force to use light armor. To give her a more flexible advantage.
Appearance:
Spoiler:
History:
Reila was an orphan back in Cyrodiil. She was begging for coin or food, though most ignored her plea. One day, a tall man. Nord by the looks of him. Offered the young girl sanctuary in exchange, she would be trained for the future. At first, she hesitated and thought for a moment. But when it came clear she would either starve to death or be killed for an unknown reason. She accepted the offer.
She was taken to the port and sailed on a boat. The man begun to teach her about shooting a bow. The trip was long and the ocean wasn't fair much as they finally arrived to an odd world of a snowy cold land and tall mountains. She gazed upon the land's beauty.
Later on, she was taken to Riften. Where she learned how to handle a sword. After a long period of training. A woman who wore an odd leather armor showed her the technique of duel wielding. But at the same time, was given a light armor for protection.
When she turned 18. The young lady was free to roam around the world. Though she felt odd for leaving the man who took her in. She considered him as a father.
When the war had broke out between Skyrim's loyal Stormcloaks again'st the Imperial Legion Empire. it felt odd for the woman to be not part of the war, so she joined. Putting her skills to use. She fought alongside a Khajiit during the war and was heart broken when the Rebels had won the war. She followed the Khajiit who refused to stand down and created a new rebellion. Since she was with him the entire war. She was given a position as second in command for she knew how to fight.
Allegiance: Her loyalty was with the Empire, and the guild she was in before. Now she remained loyal to Jo'Kar as a rebel commander.
Personality:
Reila is serious most of her time, but somewhat concerned and worried. She likes to be strong for the others and be in the front line of battle. But when she remembered about the loss, she would hide and grieve.
Spoiler: AmrynName: Amryn Al-Kematu
Race: Redguard
Gender: Female
Age: 27
Skills: One-handed blades, best with scimitars but has switched to short swords so as not to draw attention to herself; alteration, specifically mage armor; destruction, specializes in fire with an affinity for runes.
Appearance:Spoiler: Amryn
History: Amryn was raised in Elinhir, Hammerfell by her warrior father and mage mother. Both of her parents excel at their respective crafts. Her father, Kematu, is an Alik'r warrior who dual-wields scimitars at lightening speed. Sinya, her mother, has been trained by Blackcaster mages, the descendants of the very mages who stopped the Iron Orc invasion and signed the Apex Accord. Each parent has done their best to share their knowledge and experience with Amryn from a young age in hopes of giving her an advantage over the ever-constant strife in Hammerfell. Elinhir, as one of the westernmost cities in Hammerfell, has been involved in wars and political strife for more of Amryn's lifetime than it has known peace.
Amryn learned much about magic as well, but it was with the scimitar that she became most proficient. At 25, Amryn chose to train more closely with her father to see if the Alik'r warrior lifestyle might be one that could bring her happiness. Training alongside the Alik'r pleased her well enough in Hammerfell, but soon after following her father to Skyrim on a bounty mission, she realized this was not the case. What she had mistaken for her father's sense of justice was actually just endless devotion to duty. Kematu refused to question whether or not Saadia was truly guilty and remained perfectly content to blindly follow orders.
Sinya had always spoken so highly of her husband's determination to do what was right. Amryn could not look her father in the eye, let alone stay with his troop, after learning that he was so willing to kidnap a potentially innocent woman and ship her off to be executed. The fact that her father's men had been harassing almost every other Redguard woman they passed only strengthened her resolve to leave. Were she to simply go home, she'd have to explain her reason for returning without her father, and Amryn could not bear to break her mother's heart. Unable, or perhaps unwilling, to come up with a satisfactory excuse, Amryn decided to slip away and venture off on her own- after warning Saadia to find a new place to hide, of course. It wouldn't take long for her father's troop to track down a Redguard woman with a scimitar, so she traded hers out for a short sword. Although her father would be searching for her out of concern, if at all, she'd rather not deal with any Alik'r soldiers for a while.
Allegiance: As she is rather new to Skyrim, she is still learning about its culture and her place in it. The empire let her family down when their legion pulled out of Hammerfell and the Aldmeri Dominion slayed her uncle in the resulting battle. However, her father remains loyal to the empire, convinced that the choice of one legion should not condemn the entire Imperial army. While Amryn agrees with this sentiment, she still does not care for the idea of one government ruling all of Tamriel, as it is too vast and diverse for any one region to understand them all. She was initially inclined to support the Stormcloaks for this reason, but the more she learns about them, the more brutal and racist they seem. She simply wishes to live freely, amongst others who are able to do the same.
Personality: The only rectification for the disappointment in learning that her father was not the vessel of justice she believed is becoming it herself. Not any empire, Jarl, or Deadra's sense of justice, but her own. Amryn remains open-hearted and ever-curious about new experiences or people. However, she refuses to give additional chances to something that has already proven to be corrupted, exploitive, or driven by selfish motives. If and when she ever returns to Elinhir, it will be as someone her mother can be proud of and an example to her father of true honor.
Spoiler: Important supporting/NPC charactersSpoiler: Jarl Ulfric Stormcloak, High King of Skyrim
Name: Ulfric Stormcloak
Title: Jarl of Windhelm, High King of Skyrim
Race: Nord
Gender: Male
Age: 49
Skills: Speech, One-Handed, Heavy Armor
Appearance:Spoiler: Ulfric Stormcloak
History: Son of Hoag, the Bear of Eastmarch, Ulfric was born in Windhelm at the Palace of Kings, where his father ruled as Jarl. Ulfric left High Hrothgar, and enlisted with the Imperial Legion. He fought in the Great War alongside his mentor, and his father’s housecarl, Galmar Stonefist, as well as his trusted shield sister, Rikke.
At some point in 4E 173, Ulfric was captured by the Aldmeri Dominion, but eventually managed to escape. He returned to Windhelm after the war with the reputation of a war hero, and with the tragic death of his father, Ulfric Stormcloak was quickly named Jarl of Windhelm. The new Jarl was almost immediately approached by Jarl Igmund of Markarth with a plea for help. The native savages of the Reach had taken control of the Reach and sacked the city of Markarth.
Ulfric agreed to liberate the Reach, if free Talos worship would be restored there afterward. Igmund agreed, and Ulfric marched with an army under his command and fulfilled his promise. When the Imperial Legions came to retake control of Markarth and the Reach, Ulfric demanded Talos worship be allowed. The Legions bent to his will and kept their promise at first, but soon broke their word after receiving pressure from the Thalmor. Ulfric and his men were ousted from the Reach, and so began the Stormcloack Rebellion.
With time, the rebellion grew into a civil war, which ended in the Siege of Solitude, where Ulfric slew General Tullius and all but claimed the crown of High King. Leaving Lady Elisif the Fair as Jarl of Solitude, Ulfric left the city under the guard of his Stormcloaks, and returned to the Palace of Kings in Windhelm where he awaits the Moot of newly appointed, loyalist Jarls to name him High King. But he will not rest, for he fears the storm is only just beginning…
Allegiance: The High Kingdom of Skyrim
Personality: Though his time with the Greybeards was long ago, he still holds the teachings of Master Arngier close. However, he also clings to what he believes was his failure during the Great War, and hopes to be worthy of his titles and those who came before him. Though a strong man, he is also a weary one, and looks to his followers and forefathers for inspiration. He is driven by a sense of duty and self-righteousness, but shadowed by pessimism and self-doubt.
But where one moment, he is melancholic and vain, the next, he embodies the righteousness of a hero. Though his heart is good, his soul is weary, and his mind troubled. With good men and women at his side, he could perhaps be the hero his brothers and sisters see, but without inspiration, his brooding mind may be his own worst enemy.]
