Dominant Race: 10% Murians - A somewhat stocky sort of people, with large hand and limb size compared to their torso. Adults stand, on average, at 4'11. Surprisingly nimble. Skin tone is generally olive, and most hairs are dark brown or black, and range from straight to slightly wavy.
Because of the Alliance's role as a trading nation, it is very diverse, with no peoples making up more than 10% of total population except the Murian's

Citizenship: 5% (Most of these people are non-natives, but moved here after the forced annexation. They tend to live within their own groups- there is still unspoken animosity towards these and the Imperium that they represent.
Government: Representative Republic. Every ten years, each of the thirty most populous planets votes for an representatives in the Alliance governing body. Rules of election vary from planet to planet. The leader of this body is the elected from Muros. Generally, these representatives also serve as planetary leaders, known collectivly as the Alae. The leader of Muros is the Avis. (Attached to the end of the name)
Culture:
There is currently a huge rift within the Muri Alliance- the minority who supported the Imperium's takeover and everyone else. (Most hold some sort of bit of annoyance to this.)
The social virtues are highlighted above everything, although shifting the allegiance from the Alliance to the Imperium has not quite been altogether successful, yet. Let's just say there is a reason they will not let them have their military.
The planets of this Alliance are also very heavily reliant on trade. While willing to help others of their own out, it is well known that anyone outside the Alliance's 30 members and its subsidiaries would be charged quite a sum. So, although race itself never mattered, where you were really born did. If you were born outside one of the planets, especially now, it would likely take some time to get natural born citizens to trust you. (This of course, leads to a very interesting relationship between the common folk and the Senate Representatives). Goodness knows you are probably not allowed to vote for the planetary leaders.

Sometimes considered the reason why the empire decided to go into its expansionist phase, the Muri empire is teaming with natural resources, and, as a result of trading, was rather well off. As such, there were a few clashes in the early 70's that later broke out into full time war. Although the Muri Alliance was relatively small compared to the empire, they managed to resist the Empire for many years on account of their money and their materials. Some say they might have held off indefinitely had it not been for that traitor whom the Empire named king afterwards. There are still very bitter feelings concerning this incident, and when the new king finally died, very few people cared to question exactly if the reported natural cause was indeed a natural cause.
