Well I had never thought much of anything about distance so I'm not sure where you got that from. But to play devil's advocate now, why would that be so bad? It'd be eleven mirrors at max and by leaving them somewhere she is also losing Mirror Points to use on spells. I never said she had remote viewing so her leaving a mirror behind at best would be like a hidden spell reagent to come and get in a place of emergency.
I may have misunderstood, but "In her adolescent years Tristana began her games with the mirrors. The witches who trained her without choice were being watched in their own homes unknowingly. Mirrors that rest so peacefully on their walls being her gateways into their truths." suggested to me that she was using mirrors as remote viewing tools. And the reason that's bad is because if there's no limit on range, it's that they could conceivably fly around and give her huge amounts of information and keep moving to map out the entire world, or enough of it to give her an insane knowledge advantage and then just recall them once she's scouted out the entire Proving Grounds.
Nope, she'd have to attend those houses and sneak into her own mirrors onto the wall. Of course as a teenager when she stepped out of them and they all shattered, leaving her exhausted, they thought her to be practicing with her magic. Giving her a situational advantage to dismiss her odd behavior.
Okay, so it's more like - she can only see through them if she's actually inside them? Meaning that if she's really patient and spends a whole lot of time inside a mirror she can maybe glean some information? In that case it doesn't seem a problem at all.

Did you wanna start the RP in the same general location? And also, would you like that location to be the Gilded Fields again? I did that initially because it was basically a "sanctuary" - a safe zone free from monsters... except for the other players.
