Alick was still hesitant, though Fia urged him on enthusiastically. He removed his boots, and gently, he sat down on the bed beside her, and slowly lay down next to her. His right arm was right on the edge, and yet his left arm brushed gently against Fia, whose other arm was touching the wall. Trying to turn his focus from that to the argument Fia urged him to listen to, but Alick struggled to pay attention to much besides his own heartbeat and Fia's arm against his. They'd been closer that this before, but the mere fact they were now laying in the same bed seemed to add another dimension to it.

Fia felt the bed sigh when he finally lay beside her. She kept her eyes on the ceiling as she listened. She felt his arm brush hers but she paid it no mind at the moment. "You been lookin her up every night we been here?" The woman was obviously not pleased. Fia pressed her lips together tightly as the man replied. "No..No luv...I..I was just gettin her attention for more ale." The woman let out a harsh laugh and Fia had to stifled her laughter with her hand. "Aye...getting her attention..by staring at her tits hm?" The man stammered back his response and Fia glanced at Alick. He seemed frozen like a statue. Fia tilted her head before wriggling onto her side so she was facing him. She gave him a small smile before letting her right hand link with his. Her fingers brushing his gently as the woman continued to give her husband into trouble. "Do you think they can hear us?" She asked him, her words quiet as she was concerned that they could her if she laughed. She let her eyes drift from his still pink cheeks to the opposite wall where an ugly painting of a flower sat on the wall. She kept her eyes on the vomit green leaves as the man next door tried to apologise. "Luv. Come on. I didnae mean it. I promise. They weren't even good tits." "OH SO YOU WERE LOOKIN EH" Fia couldn't stifle her soft chuckle fast enough and just pressed her face into his shoulder as she gently shook.

Alick's blush deepened to new depths, as Fia wondered aloud if they could be heard, then snuggled into his shoulder. His mind racing, trying to find some innocent thing Fia would be concerned about others hearing, but his mind seemed incapable of thinking of anything but the first and most obvious one. The conversation downstairs could not have mattered less to Alick, and hardly registered. He tried to think of something to say or do, or rather, decide on which things he should say or do, while frantically trying to divine Fia's intentions.

Fia could hear the argument continue. Oh he grovelled as his wife's temper had no bounds. Fia didn't hear him answer so she raised her eyes to him. His cheeks looked bright red...like a fresh tomato. Fia blinked rapidly as she could almost see his mile racing a mile a minute. "Are you alright?" She whispered to him before moving back. Her back hit the wall and she gave him as much space as she could give him. "It's not that embarrassing of an argument." She gave him a small smile as her head rested on the pillow. She could almost count his eyelashes, she was that close. It still hadn't hit her that they would sleeping side by side this night. They had done so the last few nights, so it wasn't that big a deal to her. "Do you wanna stay here and listen...or do you wanna wander the city a little before it gets too dark?" She sat up as she asked him, turning gently so that she could peer out the window. The sky was almost as pink as his cheeks. But darkness was another hour away.

This city was like nothing she had ever seen. Every corner was full of life. Every street had music floating from it. She would have adored it, if it had not been for the reason for their journey. If her family had come here. It would have been glorious. Her mother would have preferred to stay inside, but Fia...Fia would have roamed this city until her feet bleed. She raised her fingertips to window pane and let them drag over the light condensation that was already forming.

Alick gradually calmed down as he realised Fia was not even close to being in the same headspace as him. Though the fact he'd been so greatly mistaken embarrassed him a bit, he still calmed down quite well. He collected himself, and let out a deep sigh. Then answered Fia's question. "I don't know, I'm quite tired honestly, so I'd rather we leave the sightseeing till tomorrow, but I can join you for a walk if you want to..."

Fia rested her arms on the window ledge and let her eyes trail over the scenes outside. She flicked her eyes back to him and gave him a small smile. "It's okay. We can stay here. I am sure we could find something to do." She let her eyes return to the window. From where she sat, she could see a cat jump up from window ledge to window ledge. She tilted her head, the muffled argument continue to drift through their room. It seemed to have kept on the same topic. No matter how much pleading the man did, the woman would not be swayed on her anger. Fia glanced back at Alick and chuckled. She dragged a hand through her hair as she let the angry womans words echo through her head. "Go sleep with her then...see if she can hack yer snoring." Fia smirked and then wrinkled her nose as her fingers struggled to get through her hair properly. She hadn't touched a brush for a few days now. She paused for a moment before clambering over him. Her body brushing him if only for a moment until her feet were back on the floorboards. She padded her way over to the small bowl of water that lay on the only other piece of furniture in the room. She dipped her fingers in the cold water and started to drag her fingers through her hair again. "What do you wanna do hm?"

Alick started listening in on the conversation with Fia. he'd only caught the rear end of it, but it was clear the man had made a pass at a severing girl or oogled too hard at some girls chest. Either way, his wife had clearly noticed and was giving him hell for it. Alick couldn't help but feel a bit sorry for the man. Whether or not the man had done whatever he did on purpose mattered little, but even if he had been a fool or a jerk, he'd never hear the end of it. Old Jack was still given a hard time by his wife for the time he'd danced half the night with some random girl at his brother wedding. And that had been the wedding where Alick's grandparents met.

Fia clambered gently over him. Alick would have moved out of the way if she'd asked, but he did his best to make the climb easy for her. As she started tending to her hair, she asked a question. Alick shrugged. "I don't know. You have anything in mind?"

Her fingers struggled to get through a knot so she pulled it before her nose and concentrated on untangling it. Only when the knot was free did she respond to his question. "Not really. I think an early night...in a real bed...is more than I could wish for." She beamed back at him as her hair was truly tangle free. "Hopefully we can sleep with the argument going on." She whispered to him before starting to undo her dress. First the ties around her waist and then around her chest and arms. The dress was heavily patched now and it was obvious to anyone who saw it. She had tried to keep the colours the same but patches of green and brown plagued the blue dress. She wriggled it up and over her head before folding it over a chair. She was not sleeping in her dress. It needed to dry and it was too tight to keep on fully tied during the night. She dragged her under skirt off next and plonked herself on the edge of the bed again. Her fingers running through the material. Earlier she had been certain that there was another tear. One that she hadn't mended.

She failed to find any new tear and when she was happy with her results, she folded it over the single simple chair in the room. It's back was firmly up against the wall due to the lack of space in their room. Dressed only in her under dress, she clambered back over him and sat before the window again. "You think this curtain will keep out much light?" She smirked at him as she showed him the thin curtain. It, like Fia's dress, held patches as well. She was certain it would only hold out some light...and not for long when the morning sun rose above the rooftops.

Alick blushed as Fia stripped down to her underdress. he'd seen her in it several times now, but something about seeing her strip down to it right before him, then crawl into bed beside him, still sent his blood pumping. It felt rather dumb to lay next to her fully clothed while she was in her knickers, so Alick pulled off his shirt and his trousers and lay back down on the bed in only his pants. As Fia smirked at him, he felt his blush deepen, but he did his best to answer her nonchalantly "Doesn't seem like it will, no. Though at least that means we won't have to be too worried about sleeping in." Then he cast a glance at downwards at the floor, through which they could still hear the argument going on. "Though perhaps that wouldn't be too much of an issue anyway if this place is as lively in the morning as it is in the evening."

She raised herself up again to peak out the small window. The condensation was fogging up the panes, so she ran her fingertips over the glass. Making small shapes until water trickled down to the window ledge. She plopped back onto her bum and let the water droplets dance to her. She flicked her eyes to him and gave him a small smile. "That's good. We want to catch the worm." She chuckled and let the water droplets spin around her fingertips. "Fingers crossed that it's a little quieter." She kept the water spinning around her as she wriggled down to lying on her back. The thin blanket was underneath them but for now, all she cared about was those flying blobs of water. The argument continued and she hummed gently as the water danced along with her. She reached over and took his hand, holding it flat so his palm was to the ceiling.

"Keep it still." She told him softly as she allowed the water to wriggle over his palms. It almost felt like a small fish, like it was alive and slimy. She chuckled gently as it rolled over his palms and through his fingers. She let the water stay there as she tugged the blanket out from underneath her, bashing into him a few times with her hip or her elbow. She finally managed to wriggle under the blankets and let out a long sigh. "Not as good as my bed at home...but gods does it feel nice." She took the water back from him and gestured for him to join her. She returned her gaze to the floating blobs of water as the argument beside them seemed to slowly fizzle out.
