    History:

Wraith was a child born to the world of Assassins and Thieves. His parents relationship began at cross purposes in the Thalmor Embassy; his mother a Dark Brotherhood Assassin to kill a Thane from Markarth and his father a Nightingale to steal an enchanted necklace and a pair of dossiers from Elenwen. They met each other during their attempts to escape, and the ensuing argument was interrupted by Thalmor guards discovering them.

Their escape afterwards would lead to a romance that would continue from repeated rendevous throughout Skyrim as they each went on about their lives until one particular adventure led to his father's demise after the job ended with his mother pursued by a century of legionnaires out of Solitude.

Nine months later, she died giving birth to Wraith in the Sanctuary west of Falkreath.

The family of Assassins took on the roles of the young child's family, with Astrid and Arnbjorn taking the roles of mother and father. Trained in the deadly arts, he discovered that he had little interest in magic, preferring enchanted weapons and armor to spells, though Festus ensured he learned enough to defend himself from mages.

From the early age of seven until he turned fourteen, the family brought him along on assassinations, giving him instruction on planning and making preparations for jobs, teaching him how to make basic poisons and potions, how to break into homes and businesses, pickpocket, ensuring that not a master by any means, he would be proficient enough to do the jobs the contract would require.

When he was fourteen he took his first solo contract; kill a merchant that would be traveling from Solitude to Falkreath. For three days he stalked his prey, watching the Nord Merchant with his mercenaries from a distance. On the fourth day, as the company set out, Wraith moved among the trees a fair distance a way. A mist had risen from the ground, creating an etheral effect in the forest.

An arrow took the merchant's horse from under him, dumping him unceremoniously onto the ground with the dead beast atop his leg. As the mercenaries drew their weapons another arrow struck the archer in the shoulder, knocking him from his horse and rendering him ineffective. For several moments it seemed the attack had ceased; until an arrow took one of the two warriors attempting to lift the horse off the merchant. And then, as they turned to look for their attacker, one of them shouted and pointed at a young man astride a horse, shrouded in the mist, with a bow across his back.

The Alik'r mercenary charged Wraith, who waited patiently before drawing one of his ebony longswords and nudging his steed into a gallop. At the last second, he swerved to the Alik'r Mercenary's left, deftly deflecting the scimitar and slamming the blade into the Alik'r Mercenary's chest savagely, taking the man from his horse. As the Redguard regained his feet, he looked back to see Wraith's blade slash across the Bosmer's throat, and realized belatedly that had been the young Nord's target all along. Even as he watched, the youthful assassin dismounted and cooly dispatched the merchant with a single stroke.

Then Wraith's cold eyes met the Redguard's, and in spite of his adversary's youth, he knew death had come. This young warrior's body-language matched that of many older warriors, confident and calm.

"Who are you?" the Redguard asked, wishing to know the name of the young man who would take his life.

"Wraith, of the Dark Brotherhood." the young Nord answered, then stabbed the Redguard through the throat.

From the surrounding mist, the rest of the family appeared. Taking the blood from the dead Alik'r, Arnbjorn drew his bloody fingers across Wraith's face. "From now on, you will be the Wraith of the Mist. That is the name you earned here today, and will wear from now until the breath leaves your body, after which it will be sung by the bards. As you live, with every life you take, your legend will grow. Live long, that it may become an epic saga that will be spoken of in the ages to come."

Notable Assassinations: Two Thanes of Solitude, a minor noble of Markarth, a member of the Morag Tong, a member of the Companions, Three Thalmor Justiciars, and a Court Wizard of Morthal

    Allegiance: Dark Brotherhood/Imperial

Personality: Wraith maintains a mostly quiet and watchful demeanor, though his tongue can be an equal measure of smooth and bitingly sarcastic. His ability for strategy and tactics are learned through the training he underwent as an assassin, making him as cunning as he is dangerous. His ability for strategy and tactics are learned through the training he underwent as an assassin, making him as cunning as he is dangerous.
