Default (M) On The Other Side (Kyo & Kitty)

*BANG BANG BANG* "Open up!" *BANG BANG BANG* "Don't make us bust down this door! CELESTE!"

"Mmmmmm..." The soft groan of a waking woman, muffled by the blankets in which covered her head.

"CELESTE! WE KNOW YOU'RE IN THERE!" The shouts of men... quite.... bothersome... turning on one side, the tired women reached a fairly limp arm out to an alarm clock that set silently on her nightstand beside her bed. Grabbing a hold of it, the woman retrieved the ticker, bringing it into view. She pulled the blanket down just enough to where he eyes could see the black numbers stuck onto the white, circular background and the two anxious hands in which count down the days.. hours... minutes... seconds... yes... seconds. The woman... whose eyes had been stubbornly shut since her failed attempt to wake up moments before, she finally sucked up her drowsiness to open her beautifully bright green eyes. The big hand.... on the 12... the little... on the 6... it read, 6:00 A.M.

Taking a moment to realize what was going on, the woman's eyes shut once more before she shot up to a sitting position in her bed, tossing the blanket off of her body.

*BANG BANG BANG* The men at the door continued to disturb her once peaceful morning. Swinging her legs to the edge of the bed, she aggressively stood, her hair at the length to her butt and body as nude as the first woman, Eve. Heading towards her front door, she grabbed a largely over sized T-Shirt to which she quickly tossed over her head, it dangled to her thighs.

Just as the banging was about to commence once more, the woman reached for the door, unlocked it, turned the handle and swung open the door, causing her hair and lengthy shirt slow back and the men to silence.

There were 3 men... one was white and mostly bald, another... Mexican with a little mustache and the last was a elderly man with a white beard. The all stared at the woman... quite surprised at her greeting towards them.

"It is 6 in the morning! Why are you making so much noise!?" The blonde woman shouted. Her eyes were sharp... piercing through the men's souls as her glare shook them quite a bit. Her frame was quite beautiful... she was averaged height for a women... with a perfect hour glass figure... so much so that she didn't even look like human woman... at least not with how ideal her figure was.

"Uh..." The men recoiled back for a brief moment before returning the noise, "You are already 2 months behind on your rent and appliance bill! You told use you would have the money by today! We are here to collect!"

"What the hell is wrong with you 3?! When I get the money than you will my expenses will be up-to-date, I can't give you something I dont have! I wold you I would be getting the money today! You damn idiots couldn't wait until I had my day to pester me about it! You freaking morons need to get your heads out of your asses. When I have the money, so will you. Until than... get off my case!" The women cursed before slamming the door in their faces and turning to get dressed.

She went to the kitchen to drink a glass of water then grab a plastic bag that contained rare meat inside. She tore the back open and began to bite into it. Easily tearing through the once living creature's flesh. She then headed towards the bathroom to which she stripped and finished her meal before hopping in for about 15 minutes to relax herself in the steamy water. After stepping out she dried herself and put on her work clothes, black khaki, a white long sleeves button up shift, a black long sleeved dress jacket and black flats. She put her long blonde hair up in a high pony before putting on a pair of fake glasses. Grabbing her wallet and train pass, she headed out to head to work.

Richard completed walked around his prison, as he usually did; making sure the staff were behaving and no prisoners were missing. He wore his usual smart suit and shoes as he loved dressing for his role as manager. It had already been a full day after the 'incident' that took place. He knew it would have happened sooner or later, but the press were on his case, and the government were snooping around. Those were things he didn't want. Luckily he managed to convince the government's guard dogs that the facility was doing it's best to prevent demonic interference. Richard didn't like cleaning up after anyone else's mess, and if it were any of the staff, he'd have thrown them under the bus and executed them himself.

As he returned to his office he spotted Oliver sitting in his usual spot in the corner of the office flipping through a book, not using his hands, but his Telekinesis to turn the pages. "Has everything calmed down?" Oliver asked quietly, not taking his eyes off the text in front of him.
"Yes, and I'm confining you to this office from now on Oliver, that stunt almost ruined everything." Richard complained a little sourly.
"I was hungry and he was annoying, spouting verses of scripture like they were supposed to protect him." Oliver retorted, coolly, calmly, shrugging off his actions.
Richard walked over to him glancing at the book, written in a language that looked so archaic it was foreign even to him.
"Any luck on the texts?" Richard decided to change the topic, knowing he wasn't going to get anywhere trying to convince Oliver what he did was wrong.

Oliver let out a soft and gentle sigh, closing the book, setting it gently in his lap. "The texts are encrypted Richard, you have to give me time. Once I have figured it out, I can then give you the hidden location of the Book of the Dead and the Grand Grimorie. Not only that you will need The location to the Arc of the Covenant, and Pandora's Box." Oliver stressed. Richard flopped himself down in his executive chair, sparking up a cigarette. "The sooner the better, hanging around all these humans makes me realize how much they don't even deserve their freedoms." Richard commented.

"Eventually the prison will hold humans simply for the crime of being human." Oliver chuckled darkly, amused at the thought a system design to farm humans for demon consumption.
"That's the dream Oliver; you'll finally grow another foot or two and society will look at you like an equal..almost." Richard joked, knowing the the boy's stature was something he hated being mentioned. It was also at his comment that the book Oliver had been studying launched from his lap and directly clattered against Richard's head.
"They will bow whether I'm taller or nor." Oliver growled. "By the way, remember that reporter that you almost threw out of the door?" Oliver asked, to which Richard nodded with a chuckle. "Well, the editor left a message yesterday." Oliver brought his book back to himself without moving and began reading once more.

"What did they say?" Richard took a long drag of the cigarette, holding the dirty smoke in his lungs before exhaling slowly.
"I can't remember, I deleted the message." Oliver shrugged lightly, suppressing a playful smirk. He enjoyed annoying Richard, knowing that no matter what he did, he'd have to put up with his shenanigans, no matter what they may be. Almost like a child, he'd push at Richard's buttons whenever the opportunity arose.
"Can you not do that?" Richard growled. Oliver didn't say anything in response, he simply chuckled mischievously and shook his head, returning to trying to decipher the texts before him.
Richard shook his head with an annoyed sigh and returned to his own work, figuring out targets to drag into the prison. He wished he had his own police force, but he didn't want to get overconfident.

Celeste got off her train roughly 20 minutes later. She hastily made her way through the crowds of humans that swarmed the streets like invasive insects. The city streets were noisy and dangerous. One wrong step and you get trampled, let your guard down and you get swept away by the crowd or pick-pocketed. Celeste could easily see about 2-3 people every few minutes fall victim to some sort of tragety or misfortune... it amused her with how foolish and greedy humans were.

Eventually Celeste found herself at the automatic glass doors of her editing company. The building was about 6 stories high, definitely one of the smaller buildings int he area but it had a good reputation for its editors. Celeste was well known as one of the best. If she didn't like the material, she would force her reporters or authors to re-evaluate themselves and think about why she wouldn't finish editing and help publish. Once they figure it out they would know what the majority of people are wondering about.

Taking her time getting to the 6th floor, she looked at the date... today was the day she was going to stay true to her message. Upon her arrival, she walked to her desk which was in a glass box besides a HUGE window. She immediately logged into her computer and began to work.

"Um... Ms... Celeste..?" A young, thin, and sheepish girl entered the room.

"yes?" The blond women asked as she continued to type.

"Are you staying true to your message from the other day?" The girl asked, as she fidgeted with her fingers.

"Of course... I don't think we got enough material to disclose the case. A human was brutally murdered in Richard Choi's prison... the man has no idea who did it and shuns the media away. It feels like he's hiding something... we need his secrets. I want to know what's life like in his prison. That would get us the reviews we need." Celeste explained as she finished up her report on the computer before logging out, grabbing a pen and note pad and heading out the door with the young reporter girl.

They too the train again, arriving near the prison at around 8:30-9am. Stopping in front of the gates, there were two guards on each side. They just stared at the two women. Celeste raised and eyebrow at one of them and barked, "I send Richard Choi a message the other day about returning to ask a few additional questions. I never got a reply therefore I assume he's ignoring me. I wish for an audience with him." Celeste pretty much ordered. She was a rather forward person and didn't like sugar coating stuff. Though she did notice a rather, strange, vibe from the guards... She couldn't quite make it out but it was something unpleasant...

Richard was already in the middle of selecting the staffing changes, bringing in a few human staff to throw the government agents.
He was glad that when Oliver had attacked, he was in his True Form. This meant the prisoners that were awake at the time would only have seen that. At the same time, it was what brought the Agents in. Richard had a moment to think which would have been more disastrous; Oliver be arrested, or the Agents being involved at the prison.
Richard finally landed on the latter; they were going to get involved sooner or later. He had hoped it would have been later but that's how life went.

It was then, that he got a message through on his intercom.
"Mr. Choi, there's that reporter and her boss here wanting an audience, shall I send her through?" He asked with a growl.
Now it would be mentioned that it was the choice of words that made his decision; he loved the idea of being in charge, so an 'audience' with him fed to his ego.
"Send them up to the office I suppose." Richard answered, if it had been any other words like, 'demand to see', or 'insist on another interview' he would have waved them off and got the guards to throw them out, possibly getting a restraining order like he had done with so many other reporters.

The guard looked the two up and down. "Right this way, you'll be escorted to his office." The male spoke, gesturing to a couple more guards to help with the escort.
It was more for their own safety against the prisoners, and some of the staff, than making sure the guests didn't wander or get any bright ideas.
Once they had led them through the labyrinth of corridors and up several flights of stairs they ended up at the double doors of Mr. Choi's office, Warden, Overseer, Manager.
Richard took a quick glance to Oliver before they entered. "Be cute as a button, and don't say anything you'll regret." He told him before turning to the door.

Once they had been escorted into the room he beamed at them smiling politely.
"Ah good evening, sorry I didn't respond to your message. It got lost due a little unfortunate incident." He apologized right off the bat.
"Please take a seat." He gestured to the chairs before his desk. He looked the editor up and down, sensing a dread air about her, which only made Richard curious.
"What can I help you with today?" He asked them with a helpful smile.

Pleased to hear that the big boss had agreed to meet with them. The guards let them pass and guided them up a few staircases in order to reach the manager's office. Celeste walked at an even fair, matching the guards perfectly. She walked with purpose and a sense of strength and pride though she gave a respectful vibe which gave her quite the likable appearance when it came to first impressions, aside from her beauty.

Her reporter on the other hand did not have all the glory her boss did. She was very shy... anxious. She can't help but stutter when scared or nervous and often drops things or trips over random things. She can't hold her head up properly when she walks which makes her easy to ignore. She just has a very closed off vibe which is the completely opposite of Celeste.

Celeste was already taking notes about how they approached her and why measures they took upon her meeting with the head. She thought it was wise to have the guards escort them, even though she was extremely confident in her ability to find the office, despite the fact she had never been in the prison before now. Her reported, Jean, seemed to be a bit surprised at the size of the prison. Apparently she was one of the reporters that were denied a one on one interview, she was able to get notes down when the government got involved but nothing private. She has tried everyday since the incident to get a one on one with Richard Choi but had no success. Yet, the moment Celeste gets involved and requests for a meeting the man willingly gives into her desires. This fact bothered Jean a bit but it was because she was frustrated with herself.

Walking into the room, Celeste halted at the sight of Richard Choi. He wasn't all that tall which surprised her and he immediately started to apologize for his irresponsible attempt to get back to her. Celeste didn't believe a word her said. His smile looked fake to her and she got the same vibe from his as she did from the guards she came up with. He instructed them to take a seat which Celeste gladly went to take a seat, Jean quickly followed. The man asked what he could help them with.

"I'm sure you're aware of the tensions and suspicions surrounding your prison due to this latest incident. I was told that you denied my reporter any detail about the case and have shunned anyone who asks about it, even the government is a bit out of the loop. I would like to know what happened to help clear up the confusion. If words gets out your prison is unfit to hold violent prisoners than the government will surely take it from you. So, mind filling me in about what happened before, during and after the incident?" Celeste got straight to the point. She had no intentions on sugar coating anything. She was going to to tell it to him straight.

Although Richard wasn't that tall, he made up for it with a touch of charisma, and while he walked through his prison, he demanded respect.
He looked the two reporters up and down and sat back in his chair for a brief moment, closing his documents.
It took him a while to answer, he poured each of them a glass of water, and one for himself. He locked his eyes on the shy one with a piercing gaze enough to unnerve a human without confidence.

"Aware of the suspicion? Tell me about it." He finally spoke with a chuckle, breaking his gaze with the girl and back to the more confident woman.
"The reason I denied an interview was because we were conducting a full investigation. As much as the government want to deny how much they knew to your..." He paused looking for a word. "..coworker and the rest of the media, they were in the process of carrying out interviews too." He explained. "I'd say you know more than I, how much the government likes to withhold facts." Richard gave another lighthearted chuckle.

Oliver watched on. He had changed out his book for a book titled 'The Murders in the Rue Morgue'. Oliver had picked the book in a slight devilish playfulness.
He wondered if either would pick up on the fact that he was there or whether they'd choose to ignor him like most would. His legs dangled off the chair and he kicked them ever so slightly, his heels knocking against the legs, matching the rhythmic pace of Jean's heart. The noise was quiet enough to hold a conversation over but loud enough to sift into the mind.
Oliver was quite fond of doing his best to be playfully haunting, and he could instantly tell that the other woman who had entered was not human; Oliver knew the vibe of a demon all too well.

Richard continued, systematically answering the questions and statements of the woman before him, in almost a challenge of wit.
"I guarantee you, and the public that my prison has, to date, held some of the most dangerous and violent people in the country." Richard assured her, choosing his words rather carefully, his lips in an amused smile. "This is our first incident since the prison was constructed." He reminded her, "I cannot discuss details of the incident however; once we have the facts, I'll be glad to give you a full scoop." He explained the situation, "What I can divulge is that once the interviews are completed by the correct authorities that culprit will be given an extended trial, and in an extreme case, he could be given a death sentence." Richard's smile dropped to a somber look. "However, I will be fighting that judgement; I don't think anybody should be executed for any of their sins." Richard turned his gaze back to Jeans. "Don't you agree?" He asked her directly.

Celeste didn't approve of how the interview was going. She KNEW he was holding something back, her instincts told her that he has the full picture in hand but for some reason wont hint anything to her. Already, she was piecing things together. The man had an unmistakably evil vibe to him, he was the head of the prison and seemed to be a very prideful and controlling person when it came to the prison. There was a murder just over 24 hrs ago. Nobody is releasing any information about it. The murder was said to be brutal and inhuman. The culprit is still unknown, a common belief is demonic interference, though Richard Choi had firmly denied the statement.

It was all just so frustrating. She felt like an investigator rather than a reporter or editor. It must of been her impulse acting up. She has a tendency to take her job very seriously and will step outside of her usual work to gain the facts she needs for her reporter. Jean was her personal reporter/author for the company. Celeste has several people she edits for but not as frequently as she does with Jean. The girl is rather persistent even though she is one of the shiest people Celeste has ever met. She doesn't belong in the reporting business but the girl insists on doing it so Celeste isn't going to complain if the girl can do her job. Though... every so often, Celeste has to go out and pick up the slack due to her more forward and demanding personality. It tends to intimidate people, humans in particular, into giving up more information.

Celeste was deep in thought, she was analyzing everything she saw on Richard. But the moment she heard the tapping of heels to a chair, she slowly turned her head just enough to see the young adolescent swinging his legs in the corner of the room. She had noticed another unnatural aura from the room but couldn't tell if it was the guards or not, nor did she care all that much. But now that he caught her attention, she took a good look at him and memorized everything she noticed about him, his size, his face, his vibe. He gave off an even more... demonic feel than Richard did. In fact... if she didn't know any better he gave off the feel of a true killer. This made Celeste even more curious and drawn to this case.

Tuning into Richards explanation about why he couldn't release any information to them, she took note of key words he used. Celeste could read this man like a book. He was basically screaming inside that he was hiding something from her but to the human eye seemed as if he knew absolutely nothing. Jean seemed to be easily fooled and when the question about what her stand on the subject of the death penalty was she was a bit dumbfounded. The poor kid had no idea how to respond, it was so sudden... "Well... um... I-I guess, it depends on...er... I'm not sure. I don't think I have a say when it comes to a person's life." Jean didn't want to take sides. She already knew what Celeste's view on the subject was. She was aware that her editor's parents were both killed therefore she knew Celeste was pretty cold hearted, however very few people know about her past.. only those whom she has shared a bond with.

Celeste glanced up at Richard, one eyebrow raised as she responded, "How noble of you..." she glanced over at Jean, "Both of you..."

Switching gears back to the crisis at hand, Celeste began to ask more questions... only this time using questions that are a bit more indirect towards the case, "So, Richard Choi, you said that this is your first incident since the prison's been open, correct? Mind telling me how long this prison's been open? Also, mind telling me how you've managed to keep peace within the prison, aside from yesterday?" She had plenty of questions and ways to get the information she needed. It was all about he she worded it.

She continued, hitting him with more questions, keeping her pen at the ready. " Also, earlier, when you said 'we', who might that 'we' be referring to? Your staff or the government? Are you working with the government or is their investigation different from yours? It seems to me, your the type of person who would want to keep the government out of their affairs. You also seem like the type of person who micromanages things in which you consider important, this prison being one of them. I imagine you rather prideful and confident in your abilities to manager this prison, am I correct in all my assumptions?" The whole time she didn't break eye contact with Richard. Jean sat there amazed at how quickly she started to come up with question after question after question. Celeste had no hesitation in her voice only confidence and a rather welcoming tone.

Oliver caught the woman's gaze at him, and he didn't stop kicking his legs, matching the steady beat of Jean's heart. When the death sentence question arose, his pace quickened. As he locked eyes with Celeste he gave her an innocent smile, not saying a word, but he returned to reading his book.
He could easily tell what was going on, and he wondered how they would react to being in the same room as the killer. He turned his attention to Jean for a brief moment, an urge to see what she'd be like under true pressure was something he had a growing interest in.

Richard, remaining with his amused expression on his face, even after Celeste had changed her line of questioning.
"The prison opened it's doors seven years ago." He explained to her, knowing that she'd be trying to catch him out with this line of questioning.
"When I said we, I was referring to both the government and myself. This is a murder investigation after all and the proper authorities have to be involved." He explained to her.

Richard stood and looked out the window over the prison courtyard. "Well, we have a very strict policy in the prison, for both prisoners and staff." He begun.
"There is also counselling and rehabilitation, although, most prisoners who are sent here are those given life sentences, they don't often get parole." Richard had put this case forward to keep high profile prisoners here, seperate from other prisons to reduce accidents in other prisons too.
"If there's a chance of an incident between any two, we seperate them into solitary confinement on opposite ends of the prison and reduce their free time until they've cooled down their attitude. It's a very effective method, especially coupled with a little counselling." Richard put forward.

"The government and I have a good relationship, they can come in any time they like within reason. If they want to try and change something however, they have to have a very good case as just like anyone, the prisoners don't take too kindly to change." He paced the room a little walking over to the book case on one side, examining some of them. "I do micromanage some things, I have advisers people who have authority over different areas. I walk around a couple times a day and try to spot inconsistencies and problem areas, then in a meeting I'd bring this up with them all, and we discuss how to address it. I make sure that they are doing their job." Richard described.

"I'd love to give you a full tour sometime, but at the minute it's still a crime scene, which is why I'm denying access to anyone investigating the murder; there is no point spreading assumptions and accusations at this point, I'd rather give you facts rather than wild guesses. Of course I could give you red herrings and false information on the case right now." He smiled and sat back down, sighing in resignation.
"So you got me, I'm the murderer, the police or government don't know yet, but once they've interviewed me, I'll probably tell them then." Richard blatantly lied; he had already been interviewed and he had a solid alibi. "I killed him because I'm a demon, and I was feeling quite hungry." He said everything with a bright smile, but his eyes locked onto Celeste's, Oliver's locked onto Jean's out of amusement.

'Seven years... so this prison is still on the newer side." Celeste commented to herself, she wrote down everything he said and was quite impressed at how well her was able to answer her questions. He didn't leave any out, he clearly had done this before. "Seems like this place is well manged." She complimented. She still had her doubts about him but he had a great alibi at least for what she was able to ask of him. If she had direct access to the crime scene she would be able to sense who was involved, or at least if they were human or not as well as how many.

Celeste already had more questions lined up when Richard began to spout irrational lies about himself being the culprit and being a demon, she could hear Jean's heart rate increasing from the sudden confession. The existence of demons seemed like nothing more than a widely known rumor such as aliens of ghosts but those who did believe or who have had first hand encounters with them tend to be far more easily shaken by the mentioning of them. What got Jean the most was Richard's smile. Through the whole interview than man smiled, only when he mentioned that the culprit shouldn't have the death penalty, did he not smile. Celeste locked eyes with Richard as Jean began to breath faster, she felt the star of the child in the corner and quickly became uncontrollably frightened.

Celeste was confident now on who they where. Who everyone was. She was able to sense the very demonic vibe from them from her arrival but didn't want to jump to conclusions but she was 99% sure she knew what they were, especially when comparing the aura with Jean's, however she needed proof that they were, she wanted to be 100% right otherwise she would draw attention to herself for even mentioning it, and that was something she didn't want. Though, now she was 100% certain. Demons were known for rattling human emotions, especially fear and anxiety. They try to pick on the weaker humans, its just how they are, and the fact Celeste could feel the tension and demonic energy from both of them trying to overwhelm her and Jean she no longer had any doubts which made her want to ask even more questions.

But first, Jean. Celeste placed a hand on the child's wrist which made the girl jump. Celeste smiled a bit, "Its alright, relax. He's lying... at least most of it is. He's just trying to get a reaction out of you and get use to leave faster. However... I have a few more questions..." Jean took a deep breath and immediately calmed down. Celeste confidence and security had quite the influence on Jean. Though she was a bit concerned with what she said about Richard 'mostly' lying, meaning there was some truth to what he was saying, but which part? And how did her boss know?

Celeste leaned back in her chair, briefly glancing over at the child in the corner. "Tell me, yesterday was the first death here? Or first murder? Are there any unrecorded incidents? Do you record any fights or accidents that take place here? Who was present at the time of the incident? How are they? Will I be able to talk with them since they aren't the victim or the actual crime scene itself?" Celeste gave the man a moment to answer. It seemed she had no end to her questions and she had already filled 5 pages on her notebook with notes, quotes and facts she knew was given.

Richard nodded, his eyes locked onto Celeste's. She was good at her job, but he wasn't going to playing any more.
"Still on the newer side, so there's still a few kinks to work out." He watched them both and shook his head with a chuckle.
"I'm sorry girls, I will have to bring the interview to a close here" He stated finally, "Like I said, I'll give you an interview when the investigation is over Celeste." He told her, giving her the opportunity of another interview but not Jean.

Oliver was suppressing his own smirks at Jean's fears. They were well founded, and he wanted to see how far he could push her.
Once Jean had looked at him once more, his lips screwed into a sinister smile, ever so briefly before returning to normal and back down to his book.

"You may not be able to get much more out of me, and I'll be examining any article that you publish about the prison." Not reading it, examining it.
"However, if either of you'd like I can give you my personal address and number, you can contact me there at most hours." He explained, glancing at Celeste with a short smile. "You're a good interviewer, you push well. You need a little subtly though, so many questions in such a short time could get you in trouble." Richard chuckled. "Then again, it seems to me, that you enjoy getting yourself into a little trouble." He locked his eyes onto Celeste's.

Oliver frowned thinking that it may be the end of his fun. Though he could still go out and track Jean down, give her the fright of her life. He stood putting the book back on the shelf carefully by hand. "Can I go out and play Mr. Choi?" Oliver finally spoke up, his voice full of sweet innocence.
Richard couldn't flash him a warning look, not at this time, it would be highly inappropriate.
"Not quite yet, you have to wait until the prisoners are locked away before I bring you out to play." Richard told him, trying to be as firm as possible, making it seem like he was the boy's father.
