Pokémon of the Caribbean!

Welcome, ye scurvy dogs. Welcome to Pokémon of the Caribbean. Be ye here fer adventure? Treasure? Fame and glory? King/Queen and Country? Whatever ye reasons be, ye be in the right place.

Imagine it, if you will... a vast unspoiled world, free of pollution and sprawling cities. No more would the hustle and bustle of cities like Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro, or Miami be the norm. The sound of wildlife, rustling trees, and crashing waves would fill your ears instead. In fact, that last one features quite prominently in the lives of those who inhabit this world. With the recent invention of seaworthy ships, the world's inhabitants have begun a new era of exploration! This is the world you will join. The world of Pokémon, free of humans and their Pokémon slave trade.

You hail from one of two far-away lands. Do you fly the flag of Vespiquen Isabella? Or do you wear the colors of Slowking George? Either way, you have been sent to the Carry-Bean Islands, reportedly a place known for vast riches in the form of Patterned and Rainbow Pokébeans. But you are not alone in this thirst for treasure... others wish to steal your glory and riches! Surely you will not take that lying down like a Snorlax after supper. No! Fight back and show you are the mightiest pirate on the high seas. You'll only go to Dhelmise Jones' locker when you're good and ready.

You and your crew man a fine vessel that has brought you all the way across the oceans and to the Carry-Bean Islands. The six of you have been through a lot during the crossing, and are low on supplies. You have only a couple days worth of berries and water left and are dangerously low on Pinap Juice (the Pokémon equivalent of Rum), much to the dismay of your crew. Will you try to make it to the port of Lapras Lagoon? Or will you resort to piracy, preying on other vessels for supplies and plunder?

RULES

1. Obey all RPA rules.

2. No Legendary or Mythical Pokemon are allowed.

3. There are stringent requirements for the crews of each ship. No crew may have more than one member over 5'6" tall/long, and no member taller/longer than 10'0" or heavier than 750lbs. Additionally, only one member may have a base stat total higher than or equal to 500... but NO crew member may have a total higher than 600. For a list of stat totals, click HERE for Pokémon up to XY/ORAS and HERE for Sun/Moon Pokémon.

4. The RP is PG-13. Swearing is allowed ICly, Pokémon may smoke and drink, injuries and death are possible... but mature or adult situations are forbidden. Sorry, Pokémon Breeders.

5. This RP does expect a certain level of writing ability. Posts must be at LEAST two paragraphs in length, with an expected average of three to five paragraphs. If meeting this requirement proves difficult, ask others if they are willing to copost with you.

6. To prove you have read the rules, put "I ain't afraid of Dhelmise Jones" at the bottom of your Character Sheet.

7. Disputes that arise in the IC should be handled in the OOC. If the players involved cannot come to an agreement, the GM will make a determination for them.

8. Do not Godmod or Autohit other players without their permission. If you do, Dhelmise Jones will be the least of your worries.

9. Do not post OOC in the IC or IC in the OOC. Doing so will result in automatic removal from the RP.

10. No Mega Evolutions or Z-Moves.

11. No crew will start with any held items.

12. No Pokémon reliant on modern technology. Sorry. No alternate forms of Rotom, and no Porygon line.

Crew Story: Jumpluff Jennings was once a loyal soldier of Slowking George. He and his brother-in-arms, Poliwrath Porter? Two of the King's finest. Or so they claim, that is. When Slowking George sounded the call for privateers, the two answered immediately. Poliwrath already had experience in naval warfare, and Jumpluff was a lieutenant in Slowking's army. Given command of a ship, Jumpluff Jennings quickly assembled a fine crew. One month later, they were sent out to bring back treasure from the Carry-Bean Islands to fill the King's coffers. While they each would take a share, Jumpluff Jennings saw much more potential going into business for themselves. The crew unanimously agreed, and they began committing acts of piracy.

They, like most... started small. Attacking only smaller vessels from Vespiquen Isabella's forces, they gathered up a nice hoard of booty and swag. However, this loot was quickly spent on food, water, Pinap Juice, and ship repairs. It was time to step up their game. The crew demanded they lay siege to a larger merchant vessel captained by a mighty Braviary. It was a disaster. Their ship was sunk and all crew members went to Dhelmise Jones' locker. All except for Jumpluff Jennings and Poliwrath Porter. The two slowly made their way to Bayleef Bay, and found a place on another ship.

Ol' Scratch, she was called. Captained by a very unpleasant Purugly. In time, Jennings and Porter discovered that the Captain had been giving himself a quadruple share instead of the customary double share, and they led a mutiny. The Purugly was no match for the angered crew, and was tossed overboard near a small island. Jumpluff Jennings was selected as the new captain, and he then chose Poliwrath Porter as his quartermaster. The crew seemed fine with this arrangement, and they picked up a fine lookout the next time they made port in Lapras Lagoon.

Now they sail the Carry-Bean Islands once more, looking for glory and riches. They do not fear Dhelmise Jones.

Frickle frackle, just realized Swampert and Blastoise AND Mandibuzz all have base stats over 500 lol. Maybe I'll turn Blastoise into Wartortle... not nearly as intimidating though xD Not sure what other bird to pick though...

Crew Story:
Ever since Swampert Sullivan was but Mudkip Sullivan, he knew he wanted to make something of himself. He wanted glory, he wanted his name plastered over every wall in Slowking George's empire. He eventually got his wish-- but Wanted posters weren't quite what he had in mind as a child.

Swampert was once just a humble sailor, a hired swashbuckler on a trading vessel. It was there he forged a lifelong friendship with another of the mercenaries, a Persian known as Calico Percy. The two defended their ship with their lives, knowing that their wages depended on it. But one day, as the vessel docked into harbor on a routine trip, their lives took a rather interesting turn.

A rumor reached Swampert's ear-fins of a fantastic treasure. The Helix Idol it was called. An Omanyte of pure gold, with eyes of ruby. Legend said it was located in an ancient temple on one of the Carry-Bean islands. Swampert knew he had to get his hands on this treasure. So, with barely a penny to his name, he and Calico snuck away from their stable life and risked it all for glory and gold.

Though Swampert never was all that rebellious before, he knew that if he was going to get what he wanted, he needed to work outside legality. The pair gathered their own small crew and eventually raised enough money from land jobs to purchase their own ship. She was nothing special to look at, but Swampert was proud. He named it the Heart of Lugia, in hopes that the Legendary Pokemon would grant them gentle seas and the wind at their sails. And even though the journey may be perilous, Swampert isn't afraid of Dhelmise Jones.

We are always looking for new RP's to advertise. (No, really. We are. Always.) If you would like a little bit more information, or even an example, you can view that here.

One of the requirements for a RP of the Week submission is that you have a banner. If you're not artistically inclined, however, do not fear! We have several amazing artists on the site who will make one for you. Simply post here.

Next, you can post in this thread and the staff will display your role-play in their signatures.

Also feel free to post in the Roleplay Directory. This is a thread that anyone can view at any time to see roleplays that are currently seeking and accepting members.
