Battleground: The lobby of a rather fine mansion. Windows are open, letting plenty of light stream in. Spectators are watching from the second floor, accessible by staircase. There is a strip of fine carpet in the center, but otherwise, the floor is hard stone tile. All paintings and decorations have been removed, leaving the walls looking rather bare. End date: September 3rd. Due to the fact that this match is a step behind, a bit of time has been cut out. You have a week, be active with it. |

Leona shifted from foot to foot really, channeling her pent up energy. A fight, an honest to goodness fight! There was nothing the Chaos elemental loved more than fighting! Well, maybe food. And of course her family... well okay! It was in her top five! But the chance to duke it out, to try her abilities against someone she had never met before... it was exciting! That excitement gleamed in her golden hued eyes, as she scanned the area. All while still moving. In fact, really, the short girl of just a bit over five foot never seemed to stand still! So much excitement she had come early! It was amazing, this place they were to be fighting in. Just who would allow a fight to be in such a nice place anyways? Someone with money to burn? It didn't matter, she thought to herself, as she looked about the area scouting for ideas. Well, hiding places were certainly out of the question. This area was as wide open as a book in a nerd's room, with light to spare! There was nothing on the walls to take advantage of, and... mmm. Well there was a really nice carpet. Maybe she could use that later? Knowing her luck though her chaos powers might make it a trampoline and launch her right out the ceiling. Yeah. That would be embarrassing. So the only items available for use would be the staircase and the rug. And the staircase was iffy since people were not too far above them. People... glancing upwards, she tossed them a wink. 'I'll try to make this a show y'all won't forget!' she thought, flashing an almost catlike grin. So who was to be her opponent anyways? She returned her glance to ground level as she waited. She stood in her human form at the moment, one of her most balanced forms... but also it didn't let folks know of her abilities. Didn't want to give all her secrets away after all! So she was easy to underestimate really, not much to look at being short and thoroughly human looking. Worse still for the fact she wore no armor at all about her, just rather short green shorts, a white tube top, and various jewelry. The only thing outwards indicating she was a fighter she had in her pocket: her fighter claws Faith and Courage. And they were ready to be slipped on at any moment. 'Don't keep me waiting!' she thought to herself, as she readied herself for whatever might come through to greet her... Come out, come out, Nona was ready to play! |

((My sincerest apologies for being so late with this.)) Taiya crept towards the door to the lobby. She had the perfect entry, assuming there was no one to tell her when to start the battle. Dark Fang in hand, she was in a half-crawl, making her way to to the cracked door. She took a deep breath, silently channeling her energy into the blade. She had finally made her way to the door, a large sphere of energy gathered at the tip of her blade. She straightened herself out, holding the sword firmly behind her. She was going to give her opponent the biggest surprise yet! Rearing up on the ball of her left foot, she gave the door a swift kick, sending it swinging open. She then tok a ingle step forward, and swung her blade in front, releasing the energy sphere towards the woman at the opposite side of the room. The sheer momentom made the demoness swing around on one foot, but once she regained her bearings, she could watch as her Dark Ball was headed straight for her opponent. |

Leona, when she heard the sound of the door opening with a harsh sound, knew either one of two things were going to happen. One, her opponent was the loud and brash sort who just wanted to make a good entrance or two, her opponent was ready to start this thing off with a bang! Thank goodness Leona had thought to look where the doors were in this place! So, it was easy to tell which direction her attacker was coming in from! Still, that didn't change the fact said massive energy ball was coming fast, and coming hard right for her! The grin however never left the chaos shifter's face. A magic user and a sword wielder! A double challenge! This was proving to be an awesome day indeed. Oh right! Ball! Ball! Thankfully her scouting had paid off, and with a quick jump to the right she managed to avoid getting struck by the majority of the sphere. Not by much however she realized, as she could feel the wind it had made passing her. Yikes! A few seconds more and she'd have been hurting for sure! Right then, she couldn't waste a moment with this one, she was serious! Of course she also knew that she needed to charge in fast and get in close before the demon before her could recharge. It was common sense any other magical attack would need to recharge at least for a minute or so. It was enough time hopefully, plus with a sword that long distance would be Leona's worst enemy. She had a feeling the demoness was fast enough to use it well. Right then. Grabbing out her claws Leona charged forward. She leaned her body towards the right, as though intending to strike for the demoness's right side. She had no doubt the sword would come right towards her in the meantime. But that was fine, because Leona had some tricks up her sleeve as well... |

Taiya watched for a few moments, as her opponent just barely dodged the Dark Ball. It exploded on the back wall as the woman landed on the ground and pulled out a set of claws. The demoness crouched down in a sort of fighting stance, waiting for her oppoenent's next move. As expected, the woman came right for her, a set of claws in hand. A very interesting weapon, no doubt, but dangerous nonetheless. Ten blades were always more powerful than one. But still, the woman's tactics were stranger yet. Leaning to one side, as though about to make a sudden turn. Perhaps she was aiming for a strike from behind? No matter. Taiya was going to get her either way. She held her blade firmly, and charged at her opponent. She leaned to the left, aiming for a perfect Thorn Stab from behind. Surely, the time it would take to get within range would be more than enough to charge enough power. |

Nona could hear the explosion the dark ball made and she couldn't help but idly think right now she should be counting whatever lucky stars she had! Speaking of luck, she really hoped it was with her for this. This next trick... well it was risky at best. Leona was a wielder of chaos magic, but wielding it and controlling it were two different things entirely. One could never control chaos, it simply was. And while it would always be distracting which was the effect Nona was going for... the chances were about fifty fifty it could backfire in her face in the form of a man eating badger. Fond memories of THAT incident to be assured! Still, she couldn't resist the urge to try. There was one more reason she was leaning towards the right. But oh was it a good one. She came in lower, and her fingers brushed against the rug underneath them. That chaos magic, in the form of green fire, flared into the carpet itself. And moments later, the carpet itself seemed to disintegrate, unravel. As it did so, hundreds of butterflies of various colors and sizes filled the room. They fluttered upwards from the floor, from right below their feet. Leona had jumped, and as she did so, pocketed her claws. Her own form started to diminish rapidly, hopefully hidden away by the swarm of butterflies now flitting across the room. Smaller smaller... Since it was like a second skin, and smaller forms were so much easier to access, within five or so seconds it was no longer a human body she was in but that of a small tabby housecat. It was a shame she was using so many of her skills here so quickly... like a magician revealing their hand in the opening act! But she hadn't time to waste, not with this one. She had no doubt the demon had some way of clearing the butterflies away.... but in the meantime her own vision was impaired as well. But that was okay. She still had her nose, which told her a great deal. And being low to the ground had its advantages too. If this worked right, like it should, she should be able to slip behind the demoness and have enough time to shift into a form that would spice things up a bit. And if it didn't work? Well, it had been a fun trick to try, and she'd just have to improvise and go from there. Either way, she was having the time of her life! |

The bewildered Taiya came to a halt. A massive swarm of butterflies were swirling around the room, heavily limiting vision. Her opponent seemed to have dissappeared. This wasn't good. Such a distraction would give the woman enough time to attack without the demoness even knowing about it. Taiya wasn't about to have any of that. She quickly charged energy into her blade, and sent out a wave of energy. Every butterfly hit quickly disintegrated into a form of green fire. This motion cleared the room almost instantaniously, but that only made things more confusing. What happened to her opponent? The Dark Fang held firmly in front of her, the demoness looked around, almost swiveling on one foot. The room seemed empty, but looks could be decieving. In this world, anything was possible. Perhaps the woman turned invisible, and is standing right in front of her. Perhaps she had shapeshifted into something too small to be visible. There was only one way to be sure... Taiya concentrated hard, searching for any other presence in the room. If her opponent was still in the room, she would find her. |

The victor in this match is Nona. DemonGirl, you were no slouch in this fight. In fact, I might say this is your best battle I've yet seen. If you were fighting a lesser opponent, you could have easily emerged victorious with that kind of content. Nona, however, made a very good performance. Great detail, wonderful characterization, interesting maneuvers, I was very impressed. You'll be fighting with Tensa, next. The match will start tomorrow, hopefully, so be prepared. |
