The following roleplay is rated R for possible: a bit of excessive violence, lots of potential for cussing, possible sexual tension, and lots and lots of blatant drug reference! Sorry kiddies! It's present day, 2008. The entire state of California knows Carlo De Vincente, and Carlo knows the drug business. He fully understands it, the concept of supply and demand too. What he doesn’t understand is vampires, but more specifically why no one has cashed in on them. His plan, simple, be the first to make a few bucks off of ‘em. How? Well in theory they all already have an addiction, or at least a need. Blood, and lots of it. He’s about to turn the drug game into something a bit more bloody, excessively bloody and probably highly dangerous too. Who’s game to knock over a Red Cross storehouse or two? Of course not right away. First in the style of a true LA celebrity it’s time to throw a little shindig. Fanged fiends and criminal minds alike are invited to join together to hear Carlo’s new proposal. Your role? You fall into one of three groups. Maybe you are a crook. Possibly you are someone who knows Carlo, maybe you have worked with him before he got this new idea, and you can admire him, or despise him. Regardless you want to jump in and make some quick cash. Money makes the world go ‘round. Look in your mailbox for that invitation, it’s there behind the bills you plan to ignore. You could be a vamp. Maybe you think he’s a complete fool and you’d like nothing more then to see him dead, and not living at all mind you. Maybe there is a chance that you do see some use in this human, so you might choose to hear him out at least. Couldn’t hurt to let him waste a few hours of your interminable life span. You too are invited. How you got your invitation, well if your coffin doesn’t have an address be creative, it is both up to you and safe to assume that Carlo’s people were resourceful enough to contact your people, as they say. Or, last choice is you’re the law. If that’s the case then you’re tough for a human, well actually not completely human to begin with, this is a obvious a mature roleplay with some fantasy themes in there after all. I hear the new police chief and his few favorites don’t show up for the late shift on those couple of nights a month when the moon gets real full. There’s your hint that the cops in this little town aren’t your average law officers any more. They happen to be a little bit more on the canine side then some of their co-workers, they like their roast beef sandwiches a little more rare when it comes time to sit down in the break room. Sometimes you have to fight fangs with fangs and sharper claws, correct? When you aren’t fighting crime you’re going to be stopping vamps from going out to dinner. You might be at Carlo’s party, but I doubt you are on the guest list. Still with me? Good. Now things start to turn interactive. Here’s how it works. I give you a character sheet to fill out and you do so and post it here for all to see. I then either approve it or I request politely that you tweak it slightly for me. You all, I’m sure, know the drill. I would like the character appearance to be a picture of either a real or realistic looking person, nothing too animated please. If that's not possible then a detailed description will suffice. Here’s what else I want: Character Name: Character Age: Character Group: Character Appearance: Character’s Basic Information/Background: Character’s Personality and any Other Details of Importance: Next I have, unfortunately, a few rules I would like to put out there and would appreciate if you followed. Not that rule breakers seem to exist on this site, we’re all wonderful, roleplaying, fiction writers in my opinion and I love being an RPA member. There are only five so let’s get them over with. 1. Please be respectful of everyone in this roleplay, that whole do unto others thing applies here. 2. No playing God. 3. Please spell check, I can’t stress this one enough. You only hurt yourself if you don’t proofread. Some stuff slips by regardless of through investigation at times but at the risk of sounding like a grade school teacher I recommend you proofread. No one likes to look ignorant and be deemed unintelligent. Bad grammar and poor spelling is the easiest way to do that to yourself. 4. Don’t turn my roleplay into porn. This is mature so you can imply whatever you want. I’m not opposed to violence or mature content but I’m not into sex scenes. If it comes up handle it tactfully. We’re all writers and creative thinkers here. While on the romance topic let’s keep in mind that we’re playing roles. That means be realistic please, love doesn’t often happen in two sentences. 5. There is nothing that I find more disappointing then being excited to read a new post and getting only a few sentences. I won’t specify a minimum because I don’t want any of the nonsense that comes with forcing yourself to meet a quota, but please try for a paragraph. Let’s all try to stay dedicated; though the real world does always come first. I understand that completely, college is a creativity killer in many senses for me. I hate making rules but this is my first time running a game and I want to run it smoothly. Feel free to approach me with any suggestions, questions, comments or concerns related to the game. I love getting private messages they make me feel special. Now that this is out of the way let me briefly tell you how things will begin. Once we have enough eager participants and posted profiles, I’d like at least a couple people in each group before we begin, vampire and criminal participants will receive a personal private message containing Carlo’s invitation, because I like to think that a private message would make you feel special too. You will then compose your first post, which will hopefully consist of you making your way to the place specified on your invite. And that, my friends and fellow writers, is how we’ll begin. Sound good? I hope so! As for the law, I’m hoping for at least two coppers. That way they can communicate and begin plans for upholding peace and justice, stopping illegal activities, and most importantly hassling Carlo and whoever is benefiting from him. I’m hoping someone would enjoy playing the role of police chief and leading the good guys. I’m hoping for participants in general. So now on to my character sheet then the floor is open to questions, comments, concerns, character sheets, and interesting witty words. I’m looking forward to going on a wonderful roleplaying adventure with all of you. Race Information/ Reference Vampires Vampires are, essentially and for our purposes, dead beings that subsist by feeding off the blood of the living. Vampires possess an aversion to sunlight. The youngest vampires can be completely destroyed if exposed to direct sunlight, whereas the older ones are able to tolerate it on a much greater level. All vampires however are impaired by the light of the sun. For some of the ancient vampires this simply means being slightly weakened in sunlight. All vampires share a few common weaknesses. Vampires can be killed if they are decapitated, direct contact with pure silver will sear their skin, and fire will burn them effectively. Vampires cannot die if starved of blood. Most ancient vampires can go long periods of time without feeding. Younger vampires will suffer if they do not feed regularly. Vampires, as a whole, are not affected by religious symbols and such. The only time when items of a religious nature, crosses and holy water for example, have any significant affect comes when a vampire was religious during life. If that is the case than exposure to religious objects could, at most, cause the vampire to feel guilt. Religion has no real offense result against the vampires of our story. Garlic also is ineffective. That is a wives tale. Most vampires possess abnormal strength, sharp teeth, a cool body temperature, and heightened senses and speed. Vampiric abilities vary from vampire to vampire. If a vampire is killed they will turn to ash or dust. When a vampire dies they lose their un-natural life and their body will immediately revert to what it should be. Most vampires are aged well beyond the point by which their human and natural body would have decomposed and turned to dust and bone fragments. Humans are made into vampires upon being bitten by one, drained of their blood to nearly the point of death, and given the vampire’s blood in return. Once the blood of a vampire has been swallowed by a human, that human victim’s body slowly dies as if poisoned and they are then reborn as vampire. Werewolves Werewolves are, for our purposes, humans with the ability to shape shift into wolves. In wolf form werewolves are large, muscular wolves. They are possess remarkable and feral fighting and killing abilities. Werewolves have have great agility, power, and endurance. Their most dangerous weapons are their fangs and claws. Because they are related to wolves, predators that hunt and shred their prey to pieces, it would not take much for a werewolf to tear an enemy to pieces with the use of their fangs and claws. Werewolves also possess heightened senses. They are able to see well in the dark, hear and smell exceptionally well, and track a target over great distances even if the scent of that target is faint. They also possess regenerative abilities and are able to heal even the greatest wounds far faster than any human could. In human form a werewolf still possesses heightened senses, they are simply diminished slightly. In human form a werewolf is far more vulnerable than in wolf form. While in their human form a werewolf still possesses the ability to regenerate it simply does not work as fast as it does in their true form. In human form a werewolf would behave much like any other human. Werewolves, like vampires, all possess some common weaknesses. They are allergic to pure silver. A weapon or object made from pure silver has the power to inflict a serious wound on a werewolf, sometimes even a fatal one depending on where it is inflicted. Wounds made from silver objects take far longer to heal than other superficial flesh wounds inflicted upon werewolves. Werewolves are also susceptible to asphyxiation. Because they are living and breathing creatures, unlike vampires, it is possible to kill a werewolf if you cut off their air. Werewolves can also be killed if they are decapitated severely or their heart is removed. If a werewolf dies, they die much like vampires, in their true form. Even if they are killed in their human form they revert, after death to their wolf form because it is their truest from. Werewolves, unlike vampires, can be both made and born. Humans can be given the werewolf gene by a werewolf born with it, provided they possess a certain blood type and are bitten underneath the light of a full moon. If a human with an incompatible blood type is bitten by a werewolf, under the full moon or under any other circumstances, they will not become a werewolf. Depending on the extent of injury they sustain the bite will either result in death or a nasty scar and severe blood loss Werewolves born with the gene are commonly born into wolf packs and discover their human form usually, only after coming into contact with other werewolves. Natural born werewolves tend to be rarer. They also, often times, possess slightly stronger senses and instincts than their created counterparts. It is also worth mentioning here that the full moon has direct correlation with the strength of werewolves. As it approaches its effects may vary from wolf to wolf. The most common include increased strength and heightened senses and instincts. Regeneration powers tend to be far more effective and fast working when a werewolf is exposed to the light of a full moon. Wolf instincts, depending on the age of the wolf can sometimes become overpowering as a full moon approaches. The younger a werewolf is the more difficult it is to remain human in both appearance and behavior at this time. Werewolf Purpose For the purposes of this story, the role of the wolves is in theory to protect humans from the vampires if need be. Vampires, if they feed off of humans to the point of killing them, are essentially murderers whether they do it to survive or not. Werewolves view vampires as unnatural things that are already dead and disrupt the balance. They possess no qualms when it comes time to destroy them, but are in some cases willing to tolerate them provided they pose no threat. Character Name: Carlo De Vincente Character Age: 24 Character Group: Human/ Criminal Character Appearance: ![]() Character’s Basic Information/Background: Carlo De Vincente was born in a rural area of southern Italy to a family of six. Though he was the youngest he was in no way more privileged than his siblings. In fact each of the De Vincente children was doted upon and never allowed to want for a thing. Carlo was no exception and the moment he was deemed old his education began. His father chose only the best tutors in the country for his youngest son and hoped that Carlo would one day go far. That unfortunately became his intent far too soon for his father’s liking. When he turned fourteen Carlo was sent to America after a decidedly loud and violent argument with his father during which the boy took hold of a kitchen knife imbedded in the foul that would be that night’s supper and buried it instead in the father’s knee. With no further argument Carlo was put on a plane to the states and given the contact information of his “Uncle Vinny” who lived in Los Angeles, California. Carlo and his immediate family never came into contact with each other again. Carlo entered Vinny’s large, plush home and the man immediately saw potential in his nephew. Vinnie had never visited the “motherland” but had recently acquired the contact information of an illegal drug supplier who resided there. What had been unfortunate was that the man spoke only Italian and didn’t like translators. Carlo was “fresh off the boat”, spoke the language, was young enough to be manipulated and could easily be considered a partner rather than a middle man. Vinny wasted no time immersing his nephew in the world that made his money and Carlo took it all in silently waiting for the day when there was nothing more to learn. When that day came it was almost a month after Carlo’s eighteenth birthday and Vinny found himself on the carpet floor of his living room bleeding from a head wound. Vinny’s murder was quickly turned into a successful suicide attempt by his nephew and the man’s name disappeared from people’s tongues almost immediately after he was covered in dirt. Character’s Personality and any Other Information of Importance: Taking the foundation his deceased uncle had laid down for his self Carlo De Vincente has built an empire spanning almost the entire length of the state of California. Though he dresses himself immaculately in top brands and designer clothing Carlo is by no means a flashy man. He is often described by his peers as silent and aloof or eerily quiet. There are rumors that he orders pig’s blood in bulk but no one knows the reason why and Carlo has made it impossible to deem whether or not this is true at all. He is sometimes said to be excessively violent when dealing punishment to people underneath him in his business and countless stories of brutality and a basement torture chamber have arisen in connection to the name De Vincente in California. Women rumored to have spent the night in his home appear at work the next morning only to make excuses to friends and co-workers about odd bruises and the occasional bite mark. It is also said that Carlo has a tendency to fall into brief periods of intense emotion lasting anywhere from five to fifty minutes. Several of his maids have attested to that fact and have confessed to having seen him erratically destroying his personal belongings in fits of rage or falling helplessly to the ground and sobbing quietly and inconsolably. By most people Carlo is regarded as a dangerous yet enticing enigma. He is under the constants surveillance of both the law and the tabloids. Police are drawn to his notoriety and gossipers to his strange behavior. There is rarely a moment when any rhyme or reason seem to have control over his actions. Character Name: Marna Character Age: 352 approximate Character Group: Vampire Character Appearance ![]() Nordic features, long blonde hair, approximately 6ft, ice blue eyes, toned appearance Character’s Basic Information/Background: She was born into the vampire world sometime in the 1600’s around the time of the Dutch-Swedish Wars. Her family was brutally slaughtered by soldiers invading the small fishing villages on the borders of the Baltic Sea. Marna managed to escape captivity and slavery only to be brought into the dark world by a wandering band of vampires looking for easy kills provided by the devastation of the war. Her vampire troupe was systematically killed off over then next few hundred years or thereafter by a band of werewolves. Leaving her alone in the world once again. Character’s Personality and any Other Details of Importance: Marna, because she is a vampire, is endowed with a few vampiric abilities. She has the ability to travel short distances in a blink of an eye and read both minds and general impressions off of most humans. She possesses an extreme dislike of the Werewolf culture and most of its inhabitants. Marna has, over the years acquired formidable strength for a vampire of her size and build and has become very handy with most hand weapons. Like all of her kind she experiences weakness during the daylight hours, but is not totally incapacitated due to the length of her life. She has a generally low key personality and is content to watch and dispose of her enemies in gradual time. She has been known to torment her victims for days on end before finally disposing of said enemies. Due to both her human experiences and her vampire strengths Marna has become very adept in the use of most hand weapons. She is especially fond of small, sharp carving knives. She often makes a living as a body guard when, of course, money is necessary. She enjoys this line of work because of the opportunity to engage in fights and the chance to collect valuable possessions from recently deceased enemies it provides. Over time she has become used to the tendency of most muscle to dismiss her as just another babe. That’s always the moment that they quickly feel steel and learn that this girl has got skills. Of course by then it’s usually, really too late to do anything about it. Marna has a beautiful sculptured and Nordic look and tends to dress in dark close fitting clothing. She will shamelessly play the dumb blonde to the hilt if it will get her closer to what she wants albeit money, power or just blood. She recently re-located to California to escape a police entanglement situation in New York. She is hoping to find a new bodyguard gig to help her get the lay of the land. She enjoys the finer things in life and tends to attempt to find someone in power to guard. The higher on the food chain the person she serves the more likely it is that there will always be people to be disposed of. And disposals are something she thoroughly enjoys. |

Hey I like your idea. It sounds like something I could be a part of. Is it cool if I can join as a cop? If you say yes, can you tell me what is expected from werewolves because I have a knack for twisting things to the point where I forget what they looked like in the first place. Thanks. |

You can definitely join, especially as a cop. That would even things out a little bit. I'm not opposed to twists. Werewolves are definately very open to interpretation. Just private message me with a profile and your ideas. I'm excited that my idea isn't dying a horrid death! |

I suppose then, that I should prepare for a painful future full of idealistic roleplay topics and characters who will never reach their full potential. *shakes head* What have I gotten myself into? Just kidding. I love the creative thinking and brainstorming process that being a member here can spark even if the roleplay you began it for goes no where. |

Character Group: Cop- Captain Character Appearance: Spoiler: click to toggle {I like this pic but I might change it, he'll still be black though} Character’s Basic Information/Background: Sam is a wasn't born a werewolf but he might as well have been because of how naturally he took to it. He prides himself in his animal instinct with he learnt from his time in the army where he spent 3 years doing special ops. Its that he has the records for the most mission requests in the country. His favorite duty being search and destroy. His trained senses and ability to think ahead and plan on the spot catapulted him into high ranks in the military until he received summons sending him to a disciplinary hearing involving him and a two vampires, whom he believed to be smuggling USA weapon to a group of vampire terrorist who were threatening Ireland and their poeple at the time. Unfortunately his attack was harsh and against the law. Worst of all his evidence was considered non substantial. Fortunately for him his popularity in the army saved him from a court marshal and instead get him an honorable dis charge and forced retirement at the age of 26. The youngest retirement ever given to a soldier. Within the year he was given a job in the 21st precinct running the night watch. There he used his military stature and werewolf abilities to clean up the police force and introduce more werewolves in the police force. He knows full well of (chris(forgot name)) and plans to stop him and sniff out drug without and outside his precinct. Also he became a werewolves at the age of 0 and nine months and grew up with far older and wiser werewolves who taught him the pride of the werewolves and their responsibility. Their not mans best friend but they are not enemies of mankind since they started out as men themselves. Character’s Personality and any Other Details of Importance: He's determined, stubborn. When it come to werewolves commit crimes he's viscous and out right cruel. You don't lie to Sam or you'll regret it simple as that. His overwhelming and strict personality topped with his commanding tone and physic' save him from being physical since his presence is physicality enough for most criminals Edited by SQJPure, 22 Sep 2008, 11:18 PM.

Character Name: Dante Daniels Character Age: 42 Character Group: Chief of Police - Werewolf. Character Appearance: ![]() Character’s Basic Information/Background: Dante was an only child raised in a more or less strict household. His father had been a soldier, so he was extreme on discipline. Dante had to be a tough boy, and had to grow up fast according to his father. His mother usually stayed out of things; she was in an unhappy marriage anyway, and escaped through divorce when Dante was twelve years old. Because of his dad's unsteady lifestyle, Dante was moved around a lot. He went through many different schools, had many different friends that didn't last. When his father was shipped out to war, Dante went to live with his mother who may have been his guardian, but had no hand in his life whatsoever except to put food on the table and give him a roof over his head. She had already started a new life with a new husband and child anyway. Since he had finally settled down in this small town, he was able to go through school normally. He got average grades, and he played football passionately. It was during this time where he was turned. At first, he hadn't understood how all of the other players were much stronger and faster than him, but then it was revealed. The football team had all been born werewolves with the exception of a few. The small town had a few large families that had ancestry of werewolves. Dante had to go through an initiation, but through hard work and dedication, he was turned into one of them, and he couldn't be happier with it. He took a liking to it very quickly, and became a natural-born leader and Alpha-Wolf. After graduating, he failed to get into college on just a football scholarship, so he decided to join the Police Academy. He really just wanted to be out of the house and away from his family, and if he couldn't go to college, he wanted to make sure he could do something else to stay away. He graduated from the Police Academy on his first try, and got into the force, working his way up to Captain much faster than most. Character’s Personality and any Other Details of Importance: Dante is a hard-ass; he inherited that much from his father. He likes things done and done right. In being a leader of a pack and of the police force, he has to be strict, and mistakes can rarely be made - if ever. He does differ from his father in the way that he cares for his men [and wolf-brothers]. He treats them like family, but that doesn't stop him from doing what is necessary [in punishment, etc.] He can't have any stray dogs, so to speak. It could mean fatalities. He has a great sense-of-humor though. Dante has the kind-of brotherly personality that makes him approachable with any sort of problems. He will not hesitate to give advice. He is - after all - a leader of a pack and must make sure his subordinates are taken care of, especially before himself. He is very wise for his age, but he still has a bit of rage inside of him that can come out on occasion. It may rarely be seen, but if Dante is angry, someone must have done something terrible to get him there. He usually deals with anger by isolating himself for a short amount of time to get his mind elsewhere. He isn't a fan of arrogance, loose canons, and when things don't go as planned, but he can tolerate some things to an extent [like if something didn't happen as planned and it worked anyway, yeah that's fine.] Overall, he's a good, understanding guy, and leads his men well. He's also the only Chief in the history of his police force to actually do field work. Most of the [human] chiefs before him did desk work etc. He is actually transferring from the precinct in his small town to the larger one in California. A few of his own men are going with him as well to assist the Police Force in Cali. since they are short on officers. Edited by The Joker, 13 Oct 2008, 09:52 PM.
