As with Serin, I respect that most people don't believe in it, but I've had enough of my own experiences to believe. I'm a rational young adult, I've always loved science and things of that nature, but even I have been confronted with things I cannot possibly explain. Not once, but multiple times, and since I was very young, I have been a 'Sensitive'. And while some people probably feel 'special' saying they can sense things, I don't. I don't like it, it frightens me, and I'd rather not be able to, but it isn't anything you can turn off and on. Suffice to say, I've had enough people call me backwards, uneducated, etc just for trying to put to words the things I've experienced. And since I am none of the above, it kind of pisses me off, and I don't share anymore. |

Isn't that the way it works nowadays? Sad is it not? The forced ignorance most operate under leaves no room for new experiences. The new frightens most people and in turn causes them to lash out. Evaluate these two statements. "I feel the power of Christ in this room." "I can feel the power of spirits in this room." They seem somewhat the same do they not? One is a spirit exclusive to the Christian religion and the other is nonspecific. But to someone of our society, the first would be more widely accepted then the second. It's a constant of history...the victors write it. Pagans have most often been on the receiving end of scrutiny and punishment. Other religions just seemed to have more support. You'd think we'd all learn by our mistakes... Can Christians not sympathize with the persecution of the pagans? After all...was not their religion punishable by death at one point? You'd think someone would draw the parallels...but alas...power and popularity seems to cause a universal blindness. Those who can see wish blindness...and those without sight strive for nothing more then the ability to see...what then is a perfect existance? Sight...or Blind? Truth? Or ignorance? Ignorance is bliss...but I would much rather know what (excuse the term of phrase) 'goes bump in the night' then be satisfied in believing if I can't see it...it doesn't exist. I can't see carbon monoxide either... |

The irony: I am Christian. I no longer attend a church, but I staunchly believe in the supernatural. What blows my mind is Christians who do not believe in daemons or any other 'evil' force, when the Bible makes rather repetitive mention of said forces of evil. I won't say I necessarily believe in human ghosts so much as I believe in daemon mimicry and trappings, but either way: it's a scary experience. My closest friend is a practicing Wiccan. I'm all for tolerance. Seems many Christians have lost that virtue. Christ himself talked to Samaritans, Greeks, and other pagans, without being a prick about it. What makes his followers think they're any better than him? |
