Born in southern Italy, his father worked as a scientist, experimenting with cloning, genetic mutation, and reproduction. Nero was born as a result of his father attempting to clone himself various ways and various times, until he discovered how to control genes. Nero's mother was a blond southern Belle, with Norse heritage, and his father a brown haired Englishman who grew up in Dublin. They both had traces of Italian and Irish in their blood, but no one in the family had dark hair. His father, Dr. Giovanni Basco, learned how to change his genes. Nero's mother wanted a dark haired boy with brown eyes, seeing as everyone in both sides of the family had either hazel, green, or blue. Dr. Giovanni implanted sperm cells in which he'd changed the DNA from, and nine months later, Nero di Giovanni was born with dark hair and brown eyes.

Dr. Giovanni and his wife were pleased, but the scientist didn't want to stop there. He began running tests and experimenting on himself and others, until there was no one around to experiment on but his wife and son. He was working with genetic mutation, and had found he could enhance his abilities, with the help of a certain animal. His smell and speed and loyalty increased after fusing his cells with that of a canine. A co-worker had grown long canines and his hair had begun to rapidly lengthen after being injected with cells of a wolf. He was delighted at the results, but it seemed to wear out after a few months with adults. He turned to his wife, seven years his junior, to experimentation but she'd grown sick. And so Dr. Giovanni turned to his only son.

Nero di Giovanni was not yet a year old at the time, and many things still had to take place. His growing teeth, his motor skills, his brain being able to function, as well as many others. Dr. Giovanni had noticed that the injections given to him and workers had been like drugs, steroid-like. But all of them had finished growing, they knew their motor skills, and their body was trained to know what it could do, whilst his son had much to learn and do. Two months before Nero's celebration of his first year, his father injected cells of a cat within him every two weeks. His teeth grew more rapidly than an infant's should, his canine's sharper than a child's or adult's should be, his motor skills were easily picked up, he taught himself how to run and jump instead of simply walking, he rarely cried or got sick, his brown eyes turning lighter and lighter towards gold. He brought his son as a prize to science conventions, large universal meetings, showed him off at the world. Dr. Giovanni was pleased, but his wife was not.

She'd been growing ill and even more so, and Giovanni knew nothing of how to cure her. He turned to science. His experiments had helped his son, so why would they not help her? He injected his wife with the same things that he'd given his son, but for a reason unknown, her body rejected it, it was anathema. Her systems began to shut down and malfunction, her sleeping patterns became irregular and she had horrible fits until a day when she died in her own bed when Nero was only three. Dr. Giovanni was heartbroken. His heart could not bring him to continue genetic studies, yet he kept up his experiments, showing improvements to the world.

One day, his work was banned, he'd been labeled as a mad scientist. Someone had claimed to him killing his wife, and perhaps sending his son on the same path. "The Cure", a devil organization, as far as Dr. Giovanni knew, took his son of not even ten from him. The famed Nero di Giovanni, son of Dr. Giovanni Basco, became a single mutant child in sea full of others like him. Dr. Giovanni's death was announced three years later, and on Nero's thirteenth birthday, he convinced the government to allow a name change from the outlawed scientist.

Biography: Michael was born in the late twenty eight century as a normal person, or so it seemed. After puberty he changed drastically, he balded till the point he had no hair on his body whatsoever and his eyes slitted vertically like snake's eyes and had snake scales grow on his abdomen and neck.

When 'The Cure' came to pick him up, Michael had resisted and escaped. He was able to easily evade 'Clerics', robots designed to hunt mutants with an fanatic frenzy coded into them.

Seemingly he developed additional personality quirks since when 'The Cure' tried to threaten his family so that he would surface. Michael Thompson didn't give himself up, his family, friends, loved ones suffered as the 'The Cure' executed them as mutant terrorist sympathizers.

He evaded the cure for twenty seven years, over all that time evading and killing a fair share of 'The Cure' employees. Both soldiers, detectives and after fifteen years of running Michael Thompson was captured as he faltered when mutants were used to capture him, brainwashed or otherwise.
