Born in the late sixteenth century in London, Damian has done and seen almost all of it. He's fought in the military, Captain'd a band of pirates, read and composed music, joined a symphony as a percussionist, stolen, gotten rich, runaway, you name it. He was born into a very wealthy family, his father working for the English Government, but he was killed on a trip to Spain by a crew who rode a man-of-war. His mother fell ill when he was almost six and died before his twelfth birthday. Damian had been raised in an upper class family, and still had his manners about him. He fired about half of his staff, sold his family's mansion, and instead built a bar and inn. He was known as a child genius and almost an angel. To the church, he was known as St. Pietro.

He was a very talented young boy, and could play numerous instruments as well as compose his own music. He wished to fight. At the age of fourteen, he sold his inn and joined the army. Things had gone great. He was on his way to the top, until a fatal accident when he was eighteen. His birthday was only a few days away, but there was a battle right before that, and his dreams consisted of dark, bloody thoughts. He feared for his own life, but he went along with the battle. During that time, he was fatally wounded. A grape shot below the heart, and well minced by French militants, a man he never learned the name of saved him. Damian (known as St. Pietro at the time) woke up in a battlefield, bodies littered around him. He hadn't died. He lived. A small part of him realized his life, he'd done nothing for himself. With his new found power, he went off on journeys.

It took a few years to realize that he was not aging, as should have been. His good spirit was suddenly tainted. When he slept, he had strange dreams, as if he weren't himself, but someone else. He found other odd things about himself. A time came when he joined a band of pirates, and he'd been caught by the Spaniards. They threatened to burn him alive, and they tried, but failed. His clothes did not make it out, but he was unscathed. Stories traveled, and he was no longer St. Pietro. He was the devil's child. During a dream, he found out the name of his savior and went to seek him out. He couldn't believe it at first. He'd denied and argued over it, until his anger led him to transform.

Since then, he's had a strong connection with Vincent for saving his life, but there's still a lot of teen spirit in him, a lot of fiery Irish rage, and he's been honing his skills and traveling with and without the rest of the others. A few talents he discovered in the 18th century, a few he's discovered recently and still trying to hone. And thus is the story of the Dark Angel, now known as Damien Sanguine.
