Why thank you ! And as for the others ... Who knows, life is a fickle thing, perhaps it has managed to entangle its constricting tendrils around them and hold them their tight 'till it decides the time right to grant them freedom. Or perhaps a PM will jog their memory, but I do so hate pestering people with PMs just because they haven't posted in a week ... We'll wait a bit more ... |

forum name: curious cat character name: Yosaline Peters appearance: Spoiler: click to toggle maimed: Yosaline has a disfiguring scar from her jaw line to her shoulder and she has no arms Powers: her individual power, and her strength, lies in her ability to sap the energy of people through bodily contact or eye contact. She can then put this energy into an object, or nmanipulate it in any way she pleases, including healing people. She is also a skilled shape shifter, she can make her image up of various people she has seen but can not fully imitate someone else's image. It take a lot of energy to make a complete body change, so she usually stays in one body for a lifetime while she gathers power. She took the shape of young teenager around two decades ago. However, because her injuries have become so intrinsically linked with her personality, no matter what shape she is in she never has any arms and has the scar. She relies on the help of other people to mve things, but she does not need to eat, and she is trying to build up some telekinesis so that she can be more independant. history: Yosaline was born as Ulyana into a noble Aeran family. When the Purge began she was just a young girl. Her family managed to pursuade the governess, Elizabeth Peters, a woman from the mainland, to bring the girl back as her own. they travelled by horse-drawn carriage to the port, but one of the horses tripped and broke a leg and the carriage crashed just a day's walk away from its destination. In the crash she fell out of a window and landed in the fragments of glass, she was cut all over, but a chunk went straight through her left hand, and there was a deep, messy slash all down her right arm. By the time they reached the main land the wounds were festering messes and the doctors had no choice but to amputate. Elizabeth said that the girl was her own child and that she had married in Aeria but that the husband had died. The lie was accepted and Ulyana's name was changed to Yosaline and she became known as Elizabeth's daughter. With out her arms or her independance she grew bitter. She grew up on the outside, unable to understand people her own age, or to fit in with any one in this new land. When Elizabeth died from old age she began to travel the world. She had a natural aptitude for languages and loved seeing the world, but by 49 she had finally found a place where she felt as though she belonged. She had fallen in love with a widower, Marek, there and had planned to take her old name of Ulyana back and marry the man. However, the Invasion of 1939 shattered all her dreams. the Invasion happened roughly once every five years, the surronding town raided the village and stole anything of worth; cloth, money, food, and women. She and Marek tried to flee together, but they were captured, and beaten and she was given the long scar down her neck when they tried to kill her but failed. Marek was shot as he tried to help her. They then brought her to a camp where there were many other women. Here they repeatedly raped and beat her until she became a shell of her former self. When she was eventually freed by a group of freedom fighters she could no longer speak and stared blankly at the wall and screamed when anyone came near her. Within this group was a man who had a small amount of power which lay in having the abilty to relate to people. He calmed her thoughts and eventually she resurfaced and began to heal herself. It took all her strength to recover from her ordeals, but once she had she had formed herself as diamond, unbreakable. After a few years, he taught her about the reasons for power and when she had begun to develop her own, he introduced her to Lazarus Molokai's group. He was her mentor for many years and guided her even as she surpassed him many times over. He remained a firm friend right up until his death a century ago. Now she looks to be in her early thirties, but is really around 97 years old. She is proficient in her use of magic and grows in power as she takes a little power from almost everyone she touches. Having lost everything she has ever loved to the Purge and the Invasion she has a hatred of persecution and fights for human rights in various places in the world. She is utterly unique, as far as she is aware there is no one else in Faeyn who has survived both of these political disasters... personality: fiery, extroverted, quick-temper, but is extremely loving and kind to any one who needs help ((btw i changed the image if anyone wants to take a look, it was more suitable to non-earth based rp) Edited by the-curious-cat, 26 Nov 2008, 11:36 PM.

Riiight ... Overall, I see no problem with her, and please do put the piccie in spoilers by putting it's link in between these tags: [*spoiler*][/*spoiler*] without the asterisks. HOWEVER? one big problem, this RP ain't set in any real life timeline ! ![]() It's set in a fictional fantasy universe that has absolutely nothing to do with Earth. The world's called Faeyn for reference, and I doubt you'll have heard of places like the Sunn-Whet steppes or the forests of Illivia. So yeah, I'm sorry to say you'll have to redo the whole bio, as at this point, it just can't work ! Still, aside from that small blunder, Josephine is fine ! Hope to see the edit soon, and then see you in the RP, which is here. |

Nah, as long as you don't invent a whole new continent, it's alright. Just edit your post (edit button at the bottom left corner of your post FYI) and keep in mind that this is medieval, no gunpowder (very, very little), no steam-power, and a fair amount of magic ... |

Why thank you ! And yeah, you are going to join, but all that needs to be done is modify your bio. I'll give you some info: the world is medieval, think a sort of 1100s with a fantasy feel. The world is very diverse in a fairly small space, we have steppes, coniferous forests, mountains, swamps, all filled with towns, in a generally small area, first for the sake of the RP, and because I like displaying all of nature's possible beauties in my RPs. Technology-wise, we have swords, chainmail, plate, leather, and other animal hides and all that. Steel is not a rarity, but it most soldiers still stick to cheaper iron. The main power is magic, with the Maimed being the most powerful users, although they are very, very few. All else is done by manpower and however they use physics to complement this. There aren't any trains, there isn't any steam power at all. Geography: we've got the Sunn-Whet Steppes in the east, on their own, large island. To the west of this, the main island of Illivia, with most of it being lush coniferous forest, sunny coasts, a progressively gaining mountains as you go north. To the south-west, there are some very large swamps filled with bugs and monsters. Altitude-wise, as we get further to the centre of the large island of Illivia, we get more and more hills, and while this subsides in the east and west, the north becomes far more mountainous, to culminate with the great Dur-Ubar's Spine in the north. Huge, snow-capped mountains, peaks lost in a mist of clouds. As for towns, I don't care much, try to keep it sounding "occidental fantasy" if you must create some, and don't give them a too big role. The capital of Illivia, is Illivia ... and is located on the east/south-east coast, a big trading port. Is that all, do you want fries ? But seriously, aside from the bio, Josephine is fine, that's the only aspect of the character sheet that needs changing ! |

I'm here and read up regularly, don't worry. I'm just being in a sort of retarded administrative hurricane. My internship started a week later than planned, so I had to cram 3 workweeks of internship (13.5days) into 7 days. Now, everyone is telling me to get the documents and files ready, but I'm still doing the internship itself. I will certainly post later this day and in the weekend and I've arranged to file in my administration next Monday -complete or not - so I'll be rid of it. |

Yeah, we've all entered the cave, so that's that part done, Lazarus' speech will start once everything's settled. No rush Dahante, and although I have no idea what that was all about, I'm glad that it's over. Less hassle in life is better life, I say ... |

Huh, I was thinking (which is almost never a good sign) that perhaps it should be offered by Kyaka to go to his homelands... Which would entail a lot of traveling, and thus would make for a lot of options on the way the plot can go and give the group a destination. I suppose I might as well explain my ideas for the nature of this homeland. Well, since Kyaka's race was one of the original ones, they were given a sort of land apart from the land. A sort of safehaven. It used to be a place of wonder where many would visit with the Falda's and rlate history, full of life and joy. Since the hunting of the Falda's though, it has fallen into disrepair and become a matter of legend. Not even Kyaka's has been back since the last of his brothers were killed. It would also mean that they would have to do a lot of working to get it back to what it once was (or even to livable conditions) and it seems a little cliche, but over all it works... What do you think? |
