The Best Thing Since May For all you fellow 'rat' haters out there. Okay, so now Mom wants me out of town. She kinda almost wants to put me in the ground. Dad told me he thinks I should stay away, But before I go to sleep over at a friend’s I gotta say: Mom, I didn’t know it was your dog I killed. I thought it was some rat with really big ears! And I’m (not) really sorry that the ugly little maggot Got sucked up when you had me vacuum the carpet. You have to admit that it was really expensive. Whenever you got vet bills you got really pensive And you almost bit Dad’s head off when he turned on the T.V. Even thought the dog once went for his throat and he had to get an I.V.- -At the hospital. Oh yeah, they know us there! Grampa had to get stitches when he didn’t see the thing on the chair And Uncle Tom refuses to come down to see us! For three years we haven’t heard from Cousin Cletus. I know it seems heartless, but I really must say Fluffy dead is the best thing that happened since last May! When we won the lottery but then we got sued Because the stupid Chihuahua attacked Old Mrs. Snood! Okay Mom, feel better? That’s good, I’m happy you aren’t sad. Look, Dad’s out dancing on the lawn because he’s so glad! Let’s go join him now that we’re free Of that terrible animal that we couldn’t flee! Wait… There’s Mrs. Malone… She’s carrying a… bunny… Oh, no. |
