The Story:

Hundreds of years ago, the world of humans was taken over by Dragons, who made the humans their slaves. All the world's history was forgotten, erased completely by the Dragons who assert that a world ruled by humans is a rediculous lie which will not be tolerated. Every book ever written by humans' hands - or so it is thought - was destroyed by the Dragons, and to read or speak in the primitive human tongues is punishable by death.

But there are even still small pockets of resistance, those who still hold a book and teach their children to read and speak in the tongues of men, but whenever they are discovered, they are wiped off the face of the earth and even their Dragon masters are slain as an example for all the others.

A small human encampment called Adonspiria -which means "earth spade" in the Dragon's tongue but "Man's sword" in the human language - is one such pocket of resistance, though so far they have managed to keep that fact hidden. There are stories told among the humans there that there exists a group of Dragonless humans living in the mountains, but since Adonspiria's Dragon master and his family are so ruthless and never let them out of their sights, escape seems impossible.

But when Jardon and Miraa, two siblings raised in Adonspiria, rather accidentally slay their master, they must lead the entire camp on an exodus to the legendary mountain city of Dragonsbane or else die trying. But with their former master's two sons on their trail, who knows how long they will last with little food and no weapons?

The game will begin when Dragon Master Gargolas takes Miraa from her family by force, and Jardon decides to try to rescue her from his fortress.

Rules

1. RPA and Forum Rules
2. There can be romance, and there certainly will be violence, but let's try to keep it within PG-13 level.
3. There can only be a maximum of 5 players, but you can play as many characters as you want. Send me your profiles via PM and I'll post them here if they are accepted.
4. There can be races of Dragons, but most will be your standard large, scaled, flying, and fire-breathing fantasy type. There can be humanoid Half-blood Dragons as well, though they are treated little better than Humans because of their mixed blood.
5. Humans do not start off with any weapons, and they can not use magic, but there will be magical weapons later in the game.
6. One last minor detail - depending upon how the story works out, there may or may not be modern or advanced technology in this game. Since the world's history was effectively erased, there is no way to tell what the year should be, and no telling what sort of things have been hidden from the Humans. We'll just see how it goes.

Profiles

Humans

Username: Eldora

Character Name: Rovon of Gargolas (slave name), called among his family and friends Elder Robin.

Gender: male

Age: 60, a nearly impossible age for a human to live to.

Race: Human

Skills/Abilities: Having lived so long a time, he has aquired knowledge of many different trades. He is in the unique position of being a healer to the dragons themselves, since their claws are neither small nor delicate enough to handle certain of their own wounds. This is one of the reasons that he has been kept alove for so long, since there are very few humans who could do such work.

Personality: He keeps his head low, only speaking directly to his masters when asked a question or when it involves one of their health. Secretly, among his own people, he is a revolutionary leader, teaching them to read and write, as well as the stories and legends passed down from genereation to generation about the way the world was before the dragons took it over. He is quite wise and everything he does is weighed and measured in his mind. This might make him seem slow or indecisive, but in truth he is far from it. He knows that every day he continues to teach the old ways, he risks the lives of himself and those he teaches, and with that burden on his mind, he still goes forward.

Appearance: His thin hair is a mixture of brown and white, and his cloak, weighted down with herbs and potions, matches the brown mud in which he walks. He has a full beard, which seems to retain more of it's origial color than the rest of his hair. He walks slightly bowed forward from all his years of carrying heavy loads before he became a healer, and his eyes are a greyish, almost silver color.

Short Bio: He was a very young boy when his city was destroyed and his father killed, but his mother took the time to teach him the old ways. When he got older, he proved a strong lad, which gained him some respect among his peers. Slowly, he began to gather a close group of his friends together, teaching them to read and write as he was taught, and about the wars of old when only humans fought each other. What started as a childish club among a group of orphans became an alliance of strong-willed men, who shared the belief that this was not the way the world was supposed to be, and it would be up to them to change it.

That dream was nearly shattered when the dragon king began sending out human spies among the various groups like his, exposing and destroying them. Many of his childhood friends, who had been sold to different masters, were killed for their disobedience and plotting against their masters. The king soon learned that there was a connection between them, but he kept his head low and his mouth shut, and those men were never connected to him. There were stories that some of them escaped and formed a rebel base in the mountains, but he decided that they were likely traps to lure out humans that were not loyal to their dragon masters.

He continued to live his life as a normal slave for many years, until he met his lifemate and had a family of his own. Watching his two children grow up in such a sad and hopeless place, he decided that he would rather die than see them living the existance of trodden slaves. He took to teaching them as he had been taught, as he had once taught others. Jardon and Miraa soaked up all the information he gave to them, and began telling their friends and some other families about what they were learning. That was the turning point. The resistance formed itself around Rovon quickly, whether or not he wanted it, and whether through some devine providence or else very very good luck, they were never found out. Until now.

Username: Eldora

Character Name: Miraa of Gargolas (slave name), but is called Mary by her family privately.

Gender: female

Age: 17

Race: Human

Skills/Abilities: She is a tender-of-plants, but she knows no fighting techniques as Rovon never taught her any. The only thing strong about her is her personality.

Personality: Among the Dragons, she keeps her head low and her thoughts to herself, as a human slave should. But among her own people she is extroverted and oppinionated, a little fireball.

Appearance : Miraa has pale blue eyes, long brown hair and her skin is a dark tan from spending much of her days in the hot sun. She has a medium height, but she is very thin because of the meager portions the Dragons allow her. She manages to sneak an occasional carrot or potato when they aren't watching, so that she can stay strong enough to keep on with her work, but she is still far from strong.

Short Bio: She is the daughter of Rovon, and the younger sister of Jardon. She has always had a love for gardening, and would actually be quite content with her life and work if it weren't for Gargolas' sons constantly bothering her and trying to destroy whatever she plants. She often manages to revive whatever they trample, but that only seems to make them more angry. She is one of the least-favored among Gargolas's slaves, since her job is growing food for the Humans and Half-bloods (Dragons eat only meat, which sometimes includes the occasional disobedient Human).

Username: Sir Hatless

Name: Jardon
Gender: male
Age: 25?
Skills: Jardon has been learning under his father most of his life, he hopes to take over as the healer for the dragons and help the resistance through that job. But for now he simply works the land and doing what ever is asked of him by the dragons. Because of what Rovon has taught him he knows what plants are and are not safe to use.
Personality: Jardon is a very hard man, his voice almost always has an edge to it and isn't the nicest person in the Dragon's world. He's feircly protective of his sister Miraa and will even stand up to a dragon (To a certain extent) to protect her. He don't really hold an aninimity towards the dragons (Well less then most others old anyway), but he doesn't hold much respect either. He's also slightly vindictice towards those who have wronged him personally.

Appearance: He is a tall slender man, but not very muscular, his hair is a very dark brown and his eyes are the same silver color as his father's. He stands straight up and tries to keep a hard back.

Bio: Jardon has lived all his life hearing his father's tales and doing his best to make sure that he and his sister survived. He's always done what he could to please the Masters, until the resistance started, since then he did any little thing he could to inconviniance them. He's one of the only humans to extend an olive branch to the Half bloods, he sees how powerful they are, and would prefer fighting with them rather then against them.

Username: Sir Hatless

Character Name: Raznak

Gender: Male

Age: 22

Race: Human

Skills/Abilities: He's got the mind of a fighter, but he has never been allowed near any weapons, so most of his "knowledge" is from old stories of grandure. He workes as a farmer's helper, fixing broken equipment (And the occasional broken bone if he needed to).

Personality: Due to his youth Raznak is still a bit arrogent and foolish, but he knows well enough not to be when the dragon overseers are around. Although he dispises what they've done to humans, he has a healthy respect for them.

Appearance: Short black hair, with a few streaks of stark white mixed in. Raznak is a bit shorter then most other men, but stronger then most his size.

Short Bio: Raznak was born like most of his generation, a slave to the Dragons. At age 10 he was probably on his way to be a snack for Garagolas, if he had not proven his strength.

Dragons

Username: Eldora

Character Name: Master Gargorath, also called Master Gargolas. Both are accurate but different dialects of Dragonspeak.

Age: Approaching his 100th year, roughly 45 in dragon years.

Race: Dragon

Skills/Abilities: Being so large makes Gargorath slow with his teeth and claws, but with his barbed tail he is as quick as ever. Though only middle-aged as dragons go, he is no longer in his prime, but he makes up for it with the inferno of flame that burns within him, ready to be released.

Personality: Gargorath has skin of steel and a heart of stone. Nothing can phase or frighten him, save the Dragon King himself. He has never truly loved anyone or anything, though he is fond of his eldest son simply because he reminds him of himself. He has a deep-seeded hatred for humankind, and if they were not so useful and profitable for him, he would gladly kill them all. He will eat anything and everything, as evidenced by his enormous girth. He enjoys the occasional delicacy of human flesh most of all, however. He has grown fat and lazy over the years though, and his mind is also not as sharp as it used to be.

Appearance: He is sixty feet long from snout to tail, with twenty-one feet from his head to the base of his neck, and thirty-nine from there to the barbed tip of his tail. At 15 feet tall, he is quite a bit larger than his sons, but also disproportionately fatter as well, his girth nearly draging the ground even when he walks. He is fat even for a normal dragon, weighing in at nearly thirty thousand pounds. This immense weight keeps him from being able to use his wings properly, but he doesn't miss flying nearly as much as he would miss eating. His other features seem to have grown soft over the years, as well as his belly. The ridges over his eyes droop, making him seem always angry - though in truth he nearly always is, and his once-great horns have been worn down to only a few feet long and are no longer as sharp as they used to be. His skin as well, once tight as the skin of a drum, has gotten soft and leathery, his grey scales now only about as hard as iron.

Short Bio: Gargorath was born during the Third Age, when much of mankind still refused to be tamed. He was taught, as were all of his brood, that Dragons had ruled this world before mankind had ever existed and that they got out of the way and watched from afar as the race of primitive beings killed each other over land and food. Finally a great ancient dragon, with scales black as the night, had decided that he had seen enough and had attempted to tame and civilize them, or so the story went. When that had failed, he decided that they would be more useful to the world as slaves to his race, and so the war had begun. Gargorath himself claims to be descended of the same ancient dragon, called Abadon in the tales.

After he had grown and learned the ways of magic, Gargorath proved himself worthy of his lineage by destroying a large city full of humans, leaving only the women and children alive. These he made his slaves, to do everything from farming and hunting to metalwork and weaving. After forcing them to rebuild the city - this time of mud brick huts instead of wood, metal, and stone - he named the place Adonspiria, Earth Spade, saying that he had dug the humans up out of the mud and clothed them himself, how merciful and generous was he!

This display of power, cunning, and new wealth wooed a young dragoness, who became his mate. He was shamed however, when she bore him not the large brood he had expected, but a tiny clutch of only two eggs that hatched to become two sons. Enraged at her immagined slight, he killed and ate her, sharing the meat with his eldest son. This was perfectly within the laws among dragons at the time, so he never received any recourse for these violent actions.

He grew proud of his eldest son, Salagon, a massive and mighty warrior like his father, but Palagon he detested, and often would slash his claws down the young dragon's back when he disapproved of something he did. He has always thought Palagon too soft, and far to generous with the humans, the race he refers to as the people of the mud. Palagon's choice of magical study also shames him, for it is a magic that mostly Half-Bloods use. Dragons are beings of fire, as he often lectures his youngest son, and should not lower themselves to digging in the dirt and playing with stones.

Username: Tranzo

Character Name: Salagon, First Son of Gargorath

Gender: Male

Age: Young Adult (About 50 years of age, dragon equivalent of a human 21 year old)

Race: Dragon

Skills/Abilities: Salagon, like his brother and the rest of his race, has the obvious abilities of breathing cones of fire and flying. However, unlike his brother, he is a fighter at heart and his magic merely supplements it. Salagon's form is made like a powerhouse, quick to strike and powerful to be hit by. His claws could rake through rock and his teeth crush through any material. His magical specialty, besides pyromancy, is enchantments, a field which he detests for obvious reasons. Nonetheless, he quickly mastered the more obviously cruel spells, such as runes of command, hypnosis, and sometimes the extend of mind control. In a battle he does not feel lazy about, he likely will enchant his very claws to be increasingly deadly. He is a reckless, but dangerous, fighter.

Personality: Salagon, the eldest of two, finds all things displeasing unless they serve him or possibly his father. He is quick to anger, slow to smile, and impossibly unnerving to be around. Humans are mere tools and pests to him, and he only entertains their foolish lives because they serve him. He has little care for self-expression and other people's property. Other dragons consider him admirable in his trades and a growing power, but most friendships he could lay claim to are merely people attaching to his good side in a feeble attempt for places of power when he rises as a powerful master.

Appearance: At fourty-eight feet from nose to tail tip, fourteen feet of head and neck, seventeen feet of body, seventeen feet of tail, a body width of of seven feet, standing height of eleven feet, and maximum wingspan of seventy-one feet, Salagon is obviously a larger class and stronger one than his brother. His weight is nearly eighteen-thousand pounds, proving his build to be tough and strong. When next to his brother, he is clearly the elder of the family. His muscles bulge and tense with every step, and any dragon, much less a human, would be wise to note it. Like the rest of his race, his crown is ridged roughly, and two horns extend nearly flat against his skull. His forked tongue lines his carnivorous jaws. His wings are like massive leather to a mere human, thick and taught with many years of flight. Only his belly and the underneath of his tail and neck are different, a light yellowish-tan color of scales covering these areas. The only noticeable difference through mere physical features between him and his brother is in their eyes: Salagon's glisten with a carnal garnet color.

Short Bio: Salagon, like his brother, was the only one of his brood to survive. His brother Palagon is eight years his younger, a mere juvenile. Salagon, following his father's wishes, trained his physical prowess form an early age. He shrugged off much of his magical training unless it concerned control or fighting, and as such his tutor was finished with him at an early age. When he wasn't training or being cruel to his personal human toys, he was learning from his father. Despite his cruelty, there was a definite respect and possibly love he held, intent on following his father's footsteps and to become even greater yet. This very year, however, his father was murdered, and he swore vengeance against the humans responsible for the atrocity. Taking his brother Palagon for the ride, he now seeks the humans responsible with a powerful fury and a cause to prove himself under the watchful eye of his elders.

Username: Tranzo

Character Name: Palagon, Second Son of Gargorath

Gender: Male

Age: Juvenile (About 42 years of age, dragon equivalent of a human 19 year old)

Race: Dragon

Skills/Abilities: As a dragon, Palagon naturally has an affinity for flight and breathing flame. However, his magic is one of his better fields. Palagon is adept with pyromancy at some level and is able to, at best, cast fireballs with some amount of concentration. However, he seems to mostly be talented with geomancy, an awkward field of magic for a dragon to wield. As such, he is considered of a lower rank because of it, despite his spectacular prowess with controlling and shaping stone and earth. He is still not a powerful caster though, considering his age, and still is incapable of more than the simplest applications of his arcana. Of course, in battle, his brawn is not to be underestimated nor his claws and teeth.

Personality: Palagon, being the younger of the two brothers born from Gargorath, is relatively complacent. He is considered a (sometimes too) merciful master to the humans he keeps, and he's regularly berated for being a light eater as well. He follows his brother in both respect and duty, although he is slightly envious of his brother's prominent position and sometimes gets frustrated at his position. He believes that the dragons who had led the conquest of these lands were wise and understands the current status of things to be likely for the best. However, he is suspicious of crueler dragons and casts a disparaging gaze upon them. When not learning his magic, listening to wiser dragons, or managing things for his brother, he is sculpting, a rare expression for a dragon but nonetheless a valid one.

Appearance: At forty feet from nose to tail tip, fourteen feet of head and neck, seventeen feet of body, nineteen feet of tail, a body width of of six and a half feet, standing height of ten feet, and maximum wingspan of sixty-three feet, Palagon is almost at a respectable size for an adult dragon but is still in his growing period. His weight is nearly fifteen-thousand pounds, a sadly underweight status for him. When next to his brother, he is clearly the stunted one of the family. However, his imposingly muscular structure covered in endless plates and scales of glistening red is one to still gaze upon in awe. His crown is ridged roughly, and two horns extend nearly flat against his skull. His forked tongue lines his carnivorous jaws, and his slitted feline-shaped eyes glint with opal color. His wings are like massive leather to a mere human, thick and taught with many years of flight. Only his belly and the underneath of his tail and neck are different, a light yellowish-tan color of scales covering these areas.

Short Bio: Palagon, like his brother, was the only one of his brood to survive. His brother Salagon is eight years his elder, making Salagon a full young adult by this point. Palagon's powers solidified during his young years, and he was immediately cast into the role and training of a magically-focused member of draconic society despite the humiliating role at the bottom of the priority ladder his magics granted him. His training under his father was awkward considering the conflicting teachings his father gave him in comparison to his role-model and magic tutor. His tutor was dismissed, however, in his mid-juvenile years because of Gargorath's distaste for him. This very year, however, his father was murdered, and his brother swore vengeance against the humans responsible for the atrocity. Bound by his status as a younger brother, he now seeks the humans responsible under Salagon's strict orders and the watchful eye of his elders.

Hey E, can you reserve Ferix character for me??? Some reason that name reminds me of Felix from StarCraft lol, and damn I love playing that game.

Ok, done. =)

One question, the names doesn't have a gender detail, so can we either put it as male or female???

Eldora
11-04-2009, 06:21 PM
I left it sort of ambiguous like that for a reason, so you could decide for yourself. Miraa is the only one decidedly female. The rest are male unless you would prefer that they were female.

MidKnight
11-04-2009, 06:25 PM
I'll try it as a female for once, I never actually played as a female, once on a different site but, that RP never got off it's feet. Which kind a sucks lol.

In any case I'll make this character into a female player, time to up-grade my game LOL.

Eldora

Okay, no problem. I'll be watching you like a hawk, but no worries. Lol.

Jk. I was reluctant to play any male characters for the longest time, but I've found it's not as hard as I thought. It'll probably be the same with you.

Oh, that reminds me. Can you take my reservation off Jardon and put it on Palagon? I'd posted on the other thread how I'd made the mistake. My intentions were mainly focused on playing an ambiguously antagonistic role within the reins of the RP. Questionable morality is my thing. ^_^

You do realize that Ferix is half-dragon, right? If you want me to change it to be a Human, you'll have to change it a bit, as Humans can't be trusted to guard their own kind. If not, I would give her some more draconic features. Other than that, it's good though.

Private means either one-on-one or small group. This would be the latter.

Ah, see, I saw it read "Private roleplay out of character Here you can have one on one roleplays. Keep it clean and follow the rules. (This is not a Group roleplay section, it is separate from the other roleplay forums.) It has it's own separate rules", so I thought that meant it wasn't a group roleplay.

Appearance: At forty feet from nose to tail tip, twelve feet of head and neck, fourteen feet of body, fourteen feet of tail, a body width of of six and a half feet, standing height of ten feet, and maximum wingspan of sixty-three feet, Palagon is almost at a respectable size for an adult dragon but is still in his growing period.

On the old site they made it very clear that Private wasn't restricted to 1x1. They haven't made that so clear this time, but it's never been a question in the past. That said, I'll happily move over to the Fantasy thread if I'm asked by a mod to do so.

Great job on Palagon's profile by the way, Tranzo.

Thank you.

Well, perhaps we just need more people to know about it...or move it to the Fantasy section so people don't get confused and not check the Private RP section because they think it's closed to new applicants.

If we're really going to keep it to three people, we'd need a different starting point or else we'd each be having to play three characters or so.

Eldora, how many more people do you need???

Eldora
11-07-2009, 12:09 PM
It depends on how many characters we're willing to play each, really. Just the three of us would be fine. if we're all willing to play multiple characters. We'll be playing three characters each as it stands, but if we had 5 players we would only need to do two each.

I'll leave it up to you guys. Do we need more or not?

I'll also play as Jardon, Brother of Miraa

and

Salagon First son of Gargorath

if thats okay?

That's fine with me. Tranzo, which other will you play? If you choose one more, I'll play the other two so you won't have to worry as much about keeping up with a lot of characters. I would prefer to play Zarix myself, but I don't mind playing the others if you want that one.

Edit: Oh, and just so you know, there will be more characters as the story progresses, but these are all the ones we need for now. I don't see how - aside from NPC characters - we would have to do any more than 5 each at a time.

That wasn't me who said the two to pick. Also, if I'm going to be playing mutliple characters, I'd much rather play two characters that are together most of the time. So if Hell Knight is playing Salagon, he should also be playing Palagon.

I'd really much rather play only one or two characters, so finding more people seems necessary for this RP. Since Hell Knight seems bent on playing Salagon, I'll have to reconsider what characters I'll be playing.

Please remember that if you have more than two players you must ask a mod or admin to move your game to an appropriate RP section. If you wish to limit the number of players that you have then as the gm you are allowed to do that with your game in the appropriate forum, but the only rp's that belong in the private section are strictly one on ones.

Eldora

Tell me if I need to change anything

Until now.

Lord Tully
12-16-2009, 02:15 AM
Ohh am I supposed to make a Bio for him? I thought you already did that. So here it goes tell me if it needs to be changed.

Anything else?

Yes, that's perfectly fine. In fact I would suggest that. At this point, only half-bloods and dragons can use magic, and having a haif-blood on the humans' side would help to even the odds.

Oh, and one tip - half-bloods are more diverse than the dragons themselves. If it's somewhat in-between dragon and human, no matter what it looks like, it will be fine.

Sirhatless was banned. From what the mods tell me, he still has a few weeks before he has full priveleges (sp?) again. Also, since we started some have dropped out and some others haven't posted.

I hate to ask this, but would it break anyone's heart if we shut this down, even if just to start over? It seems like this game barely has any life left, and it would be just too wierd to reassign characters at this point. Not that I mind that if you're still up for it, I just think it would be best to start over with a clean slate.

It's mostly my fault. I didn't have enough founding structure to begin with, and there were a couple gaping plot holes that I think you all noticed. I'd sit down and rewrite, make it more clear and more interesting. Perhaps even a bit of science fiction is what's called for to spice things up. I kind of wanted to do that anyway.

So what do you guys say? Should we give this a second shot?

Thank you. If we start over, what kind of changes would you like to see?

Ferix is Female, so how about having her as a male? and Zerix as female?

As you seen in my last post, I thought they're might be a sibling rivalry.

Yes, I did like that part. :)

How would you feel about a possible sci-fi twist?

It would only be minor at the beginning, but would play a major role later. Basically, the timing of the dragon invasion would cahnge, as well as where they came from. Sometime in the near or distant future, humanity unlocks the secret of creating portals to another world/universe. However, it turns into Pandora's Box when the Dragons invade the human world, flattening the cities and erasing all trace of human sovereignty in the world - basically all of human history - then enslave them for their own purposes. Half-bloods could be explained as geneticly engineered species made by the Dragons, and only the Dragons would hold the keys of advanced technology, while humans are basically reduced to little more than beasts of burden. But what happens once the secret is revealed that humans once ruled this world? Revolution.

It could even be that what the humans see as "magic" is actually some sort of high-tech weapon developed by the Dragons, which humans could eventually learn to use.

Just an idea I've been tossing around, mind you.
