This roleplay is rated R for violence, gore, language, and possible sex.

2012. WWIII broke out. It was a gruesome and violent battle, resulting in the destruction of the world as we knew it. Over the next few centuries, wildlife began to reclaim the plant. The ruins of large cities slowly vanishing amongst the growth. Mankind was thrown back into the dark ages.

Cities dwindled to small villages, the houses made of what people could find. Some towns were better off than others, a number of their buildings still in decent enough condition to reuse. People swarmed to these, a number of families inhabiting them. Villages sprung up around them, water sources, and any other ideal living conditions.
Less than ten cities on the entire globe survived the war, but in a most of them, mankind is thriving.

Due to the radiation, strange, new creatures have sprung up, creatures who have earned the name “Demons”. To fight these creatures, today’s scientists have developed a new weapon, a new…creation. They are called Vamprisms. These new weapons may be able to save the earth but they hold a dark history. This is their story.
Now, in this roleplay, there are a few roles in which one can play. I will outline them all for you here.

Civilian: This classification is suited to all average humans, living in cities or villages around the world. However, should you choose this role, please suit their location in a manner in which you can relate them to the current plot. Three of these at the most, please.
Scientists: These are the creators of the Vamprisms, and they work on a number of other things. These include medicine, food sources, electricity, and any other technological areas. They live with the other scientists in the Research Facilities in each city. The first floor of the building is the reception area where the public is greeted. The Second floor holds a few of the research facilities for the usual things. The first basement floor is for storage, and the second and third floor down are the residential floors, where the scientists dwell. Below that are several floors dedicated to developing the Vamprisms. The research facility that houses the Vamprisms is stationed in New York. I would like a small number of these. No more than four.

Vamprism: Vamprisms are essentially super humans who were created through chemical experimentation. However, the chemicals had a side effect that resulted in a shortened lifespan of the red blood cells. So, in order to survive, Vamprisms need regular blood transfusions, or else their body starts to reject the chemicals and slowly falls apart. The “Vampires” awake from the procedure with no memory of anything before that moment and begin to relearn basic motor skills. At this point, they are called Fledglings. This process takes roughly a week. Then, they enter the training program in which they are pushed to their limits. Through this testing, it was learned that Vamprisms are faster, stronger, and have stronger senses. It was also discovered that about two months after being “born”, they begin to develop new and unusual abilities, beyond what they had ever expected. They have up to two “powers”. After their initial testing, they begin training which involves finding what weapon best suits them and honing their newfound abilities. They appear no different than any other human except for a few, minor details. First of all, their skin is slightly paler than that of an average human. Second, they all bare a barcode tattoo, along with a sixteen digit number, on the inside of their left wrist. At this point, there are only five of these.

Slayers: A human who hunts demons for money, bounties, or other, personal reasons. They are skilled with up to two weapons, travel light, and rarely stay in one place for long. Most of these are unhappy with the creation of the Vamprisms due to the fact that they are taking their jobs and are much more efficient at killing off the “demons”.

Map of Area:

Aldin: The biggest town in the area with a population of roughly two thousand. This is where the scientists and the vampirisms dwell. A few of old city buildings still remain, mostly intact. They have some electricity and a water source that runs directly through town. Agriculture is easier here. Life, in general, is better off for these. They are more of a merchant town and it is here that many travel to do their trading.

Dran: Dran is an agricultural town, the second smallest of the three main towns in the area.

Briar: Briar is the smallest of the towns, focusing on mining deep in the desert. They deal with metals, jewels, and the like.

Deadman's Forest: Few enter these woods because it is where many of the demon's dwell. To enter the woods is thought to be certain death. Only those who are crazy, or demon hunters, enter willingly. However, it is rumored that a village of demon slayers is hidden amongst the forest greenery.

The grassland where all of this is located is known as No Man's land. There are a number of small villages spread throughout these lands and they all center around the three main towns. There are even a few wandering tribes that travel from the depths of the desert.

“Soon.”

The word slipped past her lips hardly more than a whisper, more breath than word. That single word seemed to cause her every muscle to tense up, tighten in anticipation of what was to come. Last six months had been spent planning this moment, this day. Tonight, she would bring freedom to her brothers and sisters. Tonight, she would bring them knowledge. Tonight, she would destroy the world as they knew it.

Crimson sat on her perch, hidden amongst the shadows of an old cathedral that had survived the last great war, though its stained glass windows had long ago shattered. A few of the glimmering fragments remained, shining like blood in the sun’s fading light. For whatever reason, the sight of it filled her with awe. She knew little of what the building had once been, though she had learned that it was related to old myth and religion. This fascinated her but the scientists had given her little to absorb on the subject.

Her gaze lingered on the building before her, roughly two and a half blocks from her current station. Focusing her gaze, she could look into the windows of the two visible floors and see the humans in their white garb, the attire that was common of the scientists. Their faces were unfamiliar for they were not the ones who had brought about her birth, or so she had once believed. No, those that she was concerned with lay in the floors below the ground, where eyes could not see. It was them that she knew and there that her goal lay.

Reaching inside her mid-thigh length jacket, she felt the comforting steel of the firearm, the cold familiar to her fingertips. A sigh escaped her lips and her breathing steadied. Crimson’s mind cleared, erasing all sense of emotion and falling into its cold, calculating manner. Quietly, she rose, her pale skin appearing white in the twilight. Then, without a second thought, she leapt from the building.

The second the soles of her leather boots hit the ground, she tensed and rolled, returning to her feet without losing momentum. Faster and faster she ran, her feet silent in their pursuit. It was only moments before she found the front door and slipped in, scanning the barcode on her wrist. It seems they never expected her return, for no alarm sounded. Crimson ran for the first elevator and it was there that she met her first opposition. The two guards were easily dispatched, however, a bullet burying itself deep into the flesh of their lungs. With gurgled breaths, they fell at her feet and without a second glance, she passed through the steel, sliding doors, pressed the button, and began her descent.

“I’m coming. Don’t worry, I am coming.”
