An endless field of tall golden grass stretches across the horizon. A small grove of trees, off in the distance can be seen about fifteen trees total. Lush and green, stretching up to the sky. The sky is a shimmering blue, wispy white clouds lazily traveling across the sky. The occasional breezes made of warmth and sunshine caress your skin as they pass by, rippling the tall grass like an ocean wave.

In the field, three doors would appear, from the one in the center a lovely shining goddess appears, the remaining two for the challengers. "I am Merry, your judge." she spoke in a strong, commanding voice as the door behind her vanishes into thin air.

"Here you fight until the death, forfeit or until one is unable to move. Injuries, even mortal, fatal or instant death wounds, shall be healed when the battle is over. The winner will advance to the next round. You have 15 days from right now... BEGIN!"

With that, she faded away, leaving the two contenders to fight in the field of golden grass.

Mortha entered the feild slowly, staff raising. The tall grass folded under his footsteps, leaving a barely tracable path trailing out behind him. His caution was more than probably for his better good. It was never good to rush into a fight. Hopefully his opponent would make a mistake in that aspect.

A seedling drifted through the fresh air and landed on Mortha's nose. He tried ignoring it, and failed. Finally, he could stand it no more, and he sneezed. The seedling flew off in lazy circles into the wind. Meanwhile the noise carried far and wide, echoing through the air. Brushing his nose Mortha dropped low into the grass.

He wasn't exactly sure what his plan was. Maybe he could finish the fight easily and turn his oppenent to stone. That was a long shot. His arm was terribly inaccurate whenever he tried it, and it might back-fire. No, he would definetely not be trying to turn his opponent to stone. Come to think of it, who was his opponent?

Looking up over the rim of the grass, Mortha saw a figure in black. From a distance, it would appear that the figure's skin was black. Mortha quessed it was probably body armor of some sort or another. He could not see a way for his oppenent to see. There was nary an eye-slit, and that bothered him.

Kuro stood there motionless, the soft words of the goddess in his mind. He lowered a hand, sweeping it gently across the top of the blades, stirring them softly. The smell was fresh and sweet, a far cry from the dank, musty cave of his last battle; yet this place shared the same sinister purpose.

He allowed himself a moment of darkness, a peaceful pause to gather his thoughts as he let the natural sounds of the land around him paint their own picture. A world of swirling patterns and shapes surrounded him, waves of grass lapping at his waist where he stood. It was then that the natural fresco he found himself in was interrupted, the sound of a man's sneeze a blot on his canvas.

Though not clear in location, the sneeze had come from some distance, carried by the wind across the open plain. Kuro waisted no time in activating the emitter, the all but inaudible sound casting a light on his immediate surroundings. The grass now presented itself in limited clarity; the sharp blades blurring as the sound became lost amongst the dense grass, the sound struggling to find its way back to Kuro.

Placing one foot tentatively before the other, Kuro made slow progress through the grass, his attention fixed on picking up the slightest sign of an individual's presence; no simple task in the murky waters he now found himself in. Perhaps now was the time for conversation;

"If we are to fight in a place as serene as this, is it not fair to introduce ourselves at peace?"

He bowed slowly, awaiting a sign of response...

Thank you both for participating. It was the start of a battle.. sad to see it get too far, but sometimes that's how it goes. I do want to congratulate you both for getting this far.

As for the Judging I would have to give this match to Gunnison. You will be moving up to the next round.

Thank you both again for playing. I hope to judge more of your matches in the future, should they come up again.
