OOC (http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1053)

Raine awoke in her bed sore and drenched with cold sweat. The sun was just beginning to rise, and she could clearly here other members of the rebellion outside of her home. She sat up slowly, as to not frustrate anymore of her tired muscles. She cupped her head with both hands, which her resting on her knees close to her chest. Her dark tresses fell off her shoulders; her bangs covered her face. It was not her day.

Reluctantly, she forced herself to move herself away from her warm bed. She could hear the voices of her fellows rise louder, and eventually someone began knocking on her front door. She sighed heavily, furrowing her eyebrows. They day before, she took a few other front lines to raid some of the military's weapons in a store house not too far from the country border. It was nearby and very low on security, so they thought. They were ambushed and had to retreat. Raine assumed that the people outside of her door were not there to greet her 'Good morning'. Again, she sighed.

She pulled her dark hair back into a messy bun, indifferent to her bangs and other little wisps fall out and into her line of vision. Instead of washing off, she wiped off the cold sweat running down her neck and back. She had nightmares of Storme's friend that night. They still haunted her, and she shuddered from remembering. Raine quickly slipped on her basic attire. She stood in front of the mirror her parents had left behind, trying to remember if she had forgotten anything. She sported a black top cut off at the bust, and underneath were tightly wound bandages. Her bottoms were only a pair of tan shorts, with a gun holster wrapped around her waist. Raine wasn't very wealthy, so she only had a pair of brown sandals that were very worn and old. They had been Storme's at some point, but he grew out of them. Hand-Me-downs filled what little of a wardrobe Raine had. She tightened another holster around her thigh, one which held her knife. And finally she slipped the strap, which held her sword, over her shoulders.

Before opening the door to the angry mob awaiting her outside, she quickly made sure her brother wasn't at home. She chuckled mentally to herself when she found he wasn't in his room. When was he really home at all anymore? And with that she stepped outside and shouted at the top of her lungs,

"Will you all SHUT UP!" Her voice carried across the village, and every soul fell silent. Her eyes darted back and forth between the people standing directly in front of her. She wasn't aware of it, but she was definitely glaring at them all. But who could blame her? How was she to know that the military had a damn spy on their side, too? It was a fifty-fifty chance. She decided to take it, and they lost. Period.

Once it was silent enough to hear a pin drop, Raine softened her tone a bit. "Let's wait until the next official meeting to discuss this." A few people became enraged with this statement, and began to protest. Raine sighed and shook her head in disapproval.

"SHUT UP!" she snarled again. Her voice was so feminine, but it was so strong to the point that a few people backed away from her. "Would you like me to repeat myself?" She wasn't much of a motivational speaker, but she was a hell of an intimidating person. Most of the people turned and left. However, a few, the ones who meant business, stayed behind.

A painful sounding scratchy cough came from a crowd. Crap. Storme knew he shouldn't be out in the city. Especially so early, when the sickness could get worse. He looked around with the rest of the people. Looking for the source of the cough even though it was himself. He shook his head as someone asked if he knew who it was. He continued his walk down the streets. He left his sort of home rather early. It wasn't much of a home actually. It was more of 'it's somewhere warm so deal with it' kind of thing. Or at least that is what his sister called it. He laughed very softly at the memory. He was heading towards another house. Which held a gathering of his rebellious men. He had not seemed to be able to gather any women yet. Which was a sort of good thing. Because women were considered weak. Unless you were taught by a certain older brother. He stopped his silly memories as he entered the base.

Queen Godiva seemed to be on a short trip for now. (eek hope that's okay). Wait he only had one person, oh well. He had almost plenty of time to gather officers and such. He opened the door and walked through the small base. It was just a place with three rooms. The entry room, then the two meeting rooms. Where they would meet of course. Queen Godiva rarely went out of her way to come out here though. So this place was abandoned for now. Storme would just have to wait a few minutes. He would just have to wait until Brennus arrived. So that they could chat about plans. For now the main plan was to recruit people.

After that he would do a little shopping and head home. So that he would look like he was shopping. Not planning to take revenge on the killer. He just needed to keep Raine safe. That was all he cared about, and taking Revenge. Those were the two things raiding his mind.

Levias watched many people from a rooftop. His trained eyes caught every movement, every breath, and every face. He memorized important ones as he began his missions, but right now, he was not. He was standing, flipping a throwing knife around in his hands, the black handles dull against the sunlight, but the blades continually glinted against it. He saw a recent contract target yelling at the top of her lungs. He smirked to himself. 'The Only reason she is alive right now is because I was lazy two days ago...' He thought and he turned to jump off of the roof, onto another.

He grabbed onto the ledge of it as he caught himself, before pulling himself up. It didn't stress his muscles so much as it used to. He landed onto his feet, crouched down, and turned to the right, before springing up into the air, onto the next rooftop...

Levias stood in front of his contractor. "I need you to kill a squad of rebels at the base in the next town over..." He said. Levias nodded, and took a map, and his pay. They didn't need to wait for him to come back to know he finished. He always finished any job he accepted...

Levias smirked as he rode a dirt-bike down paths to reach the next fort-type-construction. He stopped it about a mile away so that they wouldn't hear him, and so that he had time to think. He began to jog towards his destination, chooosing his actions wisely. He noticed five guards on the back entrance, seven on the left, and three on the right.

One of the men that was guarding was one he had to kill. He stood with the other men guarding the right. Levias believed that this was a little bit easy for the beginning of his mission.

Then again...He knew something was up. Normally, at least one Rebel captain would figure out that he was coming first...Maybe the commander or captain did, and was already preparing a force to capture, and force him to work for them. "Dammit..." He said, before throwing three knives at the men guarding the right door. The other guards didn't notice, or were pretending not to. He snuck over to the three corpses, and pulled the knives out of their hearts. One of the knives was an inch to the left, in the right atrium, instead of dead center. "Damn...I'm letting ymself go..." He said smoothly as he cleaned the blades off, and stuck them bakc into the holder on his thigh. He entered the now-unlocked-through-lockpicking-door.

The lights were off. He looked around as his vision go tused to it. It was completely empty. He looked around, and began to scout around, while not shaking his alert feeling

Raine rubbed her temples in failed attempt to rid herself from a migraine. Sadly to say, though, it did not go away. Her dark eyes scanned the remaining insurgents left, and trying hard to smile, she welcomed them into her home. The remaining rebels left were ones that had helped to form the rebellion, and were thus put in charge. Raine had, much to her disliking, been put in charge of volunteers who supported the cause, but knew little about fighting. So in order to strengthen the rebellion, she was to train them to the best of her ability. Of course that bothered her to no end. It left her wondering how on earth Storme put up with her.

"-aine. Raine!" The dark-haired insurgent perked her head up to the sound of her name. It was one of the younger rebels, Kaede, who happened to be only a year younger than Raine and was significantly taller than her. Another matter she was pissed off about. Her temper was very short today, so she hoped he wouldn't cause any trouble for her. She knows he only cares, but she can't help but get annoyed by his constant kindness. "Are you paying attention?"

"Sure, sure." she replied, halfheartedly. She was in no such mood to be discussing war. Kaede nodded, doubting that she was actually listening.

"Okay, so the military's been hiring mercenaries. And one guy we've noticed around this area is known as Shadow. Ever heard of him?" It was strange for the mechanic to be so informative, but nonetheless Raine listened intensely. She shook her head 'yes' in response. In truth, she had never really heard of a mercenary call Shadow, but she didn't want to go over details. "I'm just saying you all should be careful."

Another rebel spoke up, "I agree with Kaede. This 'Shadow' could be very dangerous or not even much of a threat. We don't know for sure. Anyway, we need to take precautions and assume that he is sided with the military." Raine hated to assume things, but she would follow her orders anyway. "The real reason we're having this meeting is for the next raid, since we never got any supplies or weapons from the last one."

People shot Raine glares, but she glared back. Since they weren't going to fight during a meeting, they all backed off, but Raine still felt a bit guilty about what had happened. Though, it truly wasn't her fault, was it?

"Anyway, we'll go to a nearby village. There's only a handful of guards there, so it'll be pretty easy. In case of another ambush," (glare, glare) "I've sent in spies for the past two days to check it out. So far, everything has been A-Ok."

Raine huffed, knowing that her mistake had effected the Rebellion, but it wasn't a catastrophe. No one died, at least. To avoid anymore glares, she quickly started out the door, not waiting to be dismissed. It wasn't the military, so why would she need to be formally dismissed? A waste of time, that's what it was. Anyway, Raine had started down the trail that left the village and into the countryside, but she was stopped by a few (still) angry rebels.

Asleep. Storme was dead asleep in the uncomfortable chair. Maybe he should have informed people earlier. He snorted a bit, twitched, and then woke up. Something was giving him an eerie feeling. He wasn't quite sure what it may be. Maybe it was time to begin pestering Raine. That sounded about right, he walked out into the street. Peering at the ginormous clock he saw it was almost noon. Storme knew Raine would be somewhere looking for him. Or maybe not looking for him at all. Well, she might not be home. So he turned and began walking down the street. A chill kept creeping up his spine, but he ignored it. He knew it was just a symptom of the plague he had. He found the trail that lead to the countryside. Stopping he decided he didn't want to go there. He turned around and walked toward home. He bought a loaf of bread from a small shop and continued walking. He had to look like he was shopping anyway. Storme turned into his street attempting to whistle. That wasn't working out too well for him. He saw Raine easily, and she wasn't too far from home. She looked busy, so maybe he would turn back. (he just caught her walking away, not being stopped) Go see if maybe Brennus was there. He turned around happily, almost too happily actually. Then walked back to where he was. He opened the door and sat back down in the chair. Unaware that someone could be in here. Because he did not lock the door. So someone could have come in, but that did not cross his mind. He was as of now sitting in his chair silently. Still trying to whistle and failing.(he has trouble making up his mind)

Dakota listened to Raine's meeting half-heartedly. She knew the meetings usually ended badly with more people angry then there were prior to the meeting. This particluar meeting seemed to have the same result. As a doctor she knew that she'd probably have to be the one to look after those who got injured in the raids (and there usually were many of them). She wanted to help those who were infected, not treat a broken bone or a cut arm. But at least she was helping here and not back helping that queen who cared more about herself getting sick than the rest of her people (including Dakota's family, she still missed them terribly). When Raine was finished Dakota stiffled a yawn, she had been up all night injured rebels and a young girl that was infected. She had only received about a two hour sleep. However she had operated on less before and she was just going to have to suck it up now.
She walked over to her home to try ready for the next raid. It was a pretty short walk, but then again Dakota usually walked pretty fast. Once she was there she kicked off her boots and grabbed her bag and began to fill it with supplies. Once it was filled to almost the top she put in some water containers and shut it. Then she slung it over her shoulder and went to put her boots back on. The bag was fairly heavy, many would faltered trying to lift it. But Dakota was used to this much weight so to her it didn't slow her down. After her black boots were on her feet she made sure the knife was still well concealed in the left one (it was) then she walked out her door, shutting it behind her. And went to find Raine.

Kaede plodded behind Raine. He was a little worried that someone would try to get her for screwing up the raid. But an ambush is a surprise attack, so how would that be Raine's fault? He couldn't quite understand, and Raine was full aware of that. She didn't bother to tell him that she had failed to send out spies to scout the area beforehand. She had relied on her information sources, but they were apparently wrong. She was going to have to talk to her informers a little later. Kaede ran into her back and stumbled backwards when Raine suddenly halted in her tracks.

"Oompf!" he let out, hitting the ground. He stood up fast and brushed himself off. The boy was about to ask why she had stopped, but didn't say anything when he noticed five angry looking rebels. He backed off, since he wasn't much of a fighter and stared at Raine, who was very silent. Her eyes were cold. She had no time or energy to be fighting with her own comrades. She clicked her tongue, crossed her arms, and she waited for an explanation. The two bigger looking men growled at her, but they also had an air of arrogance around them. It was quite obvious where such a meeting was heading towards. And before Kaede could call out Raine's name, a smaller, faster man confronted her and landed a blow on the right cheek. Raine's whole body was thrown off balance, but she remained standing. Kaede gripped the handle of his aruval and clenched his teeth in anger. And he was about to help Raine, but she stopped him.

"Get Dakota. Bring her here," she said. Her voice was flat and monotonous, and for an instant it felt lifeless. Perhaps she meant for it to be serious instead of the effect that Kaede was getting. Or maybe she was just too tired to give out intense orders as she always had. She continued, "It's going to be a little messy." Of course Kaede knew Raine would wipe the floor with their sorry asses. He just couldn't help but worry for her. She was one girl fighting five older men. The odds were against her. But Raine was made the leader of the front lines for a reason. He just hoped that she would prove it.

So without hesitating any longer, Kaede high-tailed out off there and headed back to the village. His pace stuttered when he caught sight of Dakota, who was heading in Raine's direction. "Dakota!" he shouted. He ran to her, but had to catch his breath. He leaned on his knees and in between pants he gasped, "Raine... men... angry.. five.." Of course he knew that Dakota would not be able to understand him. He could barely understand himself! But he focused on catching his breath before trying to spurt out nonsense again.

Dakota paused and raised an eyebrow as Kaede ran up to her. She wasn't all that fond of him. She usually ddin't hang around with him. He seemed often get too excited over things. Kind of like he was doing now. Although with what he was saying this time he might have an actual reason for being like that. Her eyes narrowed as she began to piece together what he was saying. So Raine was close to five angry men. And Dakota bet her boots her that they just wanted to sit around a campfire and sing koombia. No, there was going to be a fight. She sighed, why did she get herself into these things anyways? Well, at least now she was feeling more awake. She ran ahead, not waiting for Kaede to catch up. She knew he'd follow anyways. Soon she was beside Raine. As she plopped her pack down she looked over and said to Raine, "You know, you don't have to be a doctor to know that you shouldn't get in fights when you're feeling tired."

Alex proudly made his way to Storme's so called "home". A meeting they were having, but he knew nothing of what they were to speak of. He merely nodded and followed along. Alex was not big on an internal war. He wanted a peaceful, non-violent country to raise his adorable soon-to-be-daughter, Alice. Of course, he had no way of knowing what she looked like since she had not been born yet. However he insists that she will inherit her mother's gorgeous beauty. Cheerfully, he quickly opened the door, grinning from ear to ear.

"Storme! How goes it?" he asked. He quickly took a seat next to his subordinate and from inside his military coat pocket, he pulled out a picture of his wife. And without waiting for a reply, "You should just see how big Emily's gotten! Won't be long now 'til our little Alice comes!" He laughed heartily. Alex's excitement was uncontainable, and he hadn't spoken to one person the entire day. He was about to reach his limit. Alex finally settled down and got to business with Storme.

"Around town, they said that someone coughed in a large crowd. It's like they're trying to spread the plague, or they're trying to get killed." He lit a cigarette and breathed out a small cloud of smoke. "D'you have any idea? Those assassins will find that person and chase them to the ends of the Earth."

------------------------

Kaede hurried behind Dakota even though he was still tired. When he got back to Raine, he watched her in awe. Her hair band had snapped and her dark tresses fell to her shoulders. They didn't stay there long because Raine was constantly moving. One of the larger men charged her. At first she felt a bit shaken by his size, but she had remembered what Storme had taught her. "Use the opponent's strength and make it your own." His voice and words of wisdom echoed through her head, not fading or missing a beat. In that instant, she crouched as low as she could possibly get, and she rolled towards the man's feet. She knocked them from beneath him, and she quickly stood, watching him tumble on the hard asphalt.

"Hmph," She breathed. "This is no time to be fighting amongst ourselves." It was then that she noticed Dakota and Kaede. She smiled at Dakota's words, and she even chuckled a bit. "Tired? Who ever said I was tired?" A shorter man leaped at her in the air. His form became invisible to her since the sun was directly behind him. Raine instinctively moved to her right and jabbed her elbow into the other short man's nose. She felt it crack and watched as he fell to the ground, writhing in pain. The other large man had sneaked up behind her and locked her arms behind her. The last small one began pounding her as hard as he could in her stomach and her face. However, went she felt she had taken enough she moved her head out of the small man's punch and he nailed the big guy in the gut.

The big guy then started after the small man, shouting profanity as they ran. Raine wiped blood running from the corner of her lip and her nose. Despite how disheveled she was, Raine was okay disregarding the occasional split skin on her face and stomach. The little guy had rings on him, and it made the punches ten times more effective. She came over to Dakota and Kaede laughing. "I guess I sort of deserved that."

Dakota raised an eyebrow and watched as Raine fought the group of angry males. Rebels shouldn't fight rebels, it would just result in making everyone weaker and getting more people injured that she'd have to look at later on. Raine seemed to handle herself well. Dakota knew that she probably wouldn't have to give Raine stiches any time soon at least. She couldn't say the same for the males Raine was fighting. Dakota laughed as the large male took off after the smaller one. 'Idiots," she mumbled. Then she looked over to Raine, "You seemed to have the situation under control. So what exactly did you need me for?" If Raine didn't need her help then why did she send Kaede so urgently?

11-25-2009, 03:37 PM
Raine sighed hard, and winced a bit when it hurt took take in so much air. Despite her winning in a fight against five men, they were indeed still men. They were strong. She sat with her legs crossed a few feet away from Dakota and Kaede, smiling. Of course that was to reassure Kaede that she was okay. She had originally thought of sending him away so that he wouldn't try to help, and then get them both seriously hurt. But how could she say that in front of his face. Despite her straight forward nature, she certainly didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings on purpose. Kaede just wasn't much of a fighter. He was a mechanic.

"I don't know. But weren't you following me anyway?" Her voice was light and she tried hiding her ragged breathing. She was a bit out of breath. Perhaps she was getting out of shape. Raine hadn't been training daily recently, what with all of the raids and preparing for one big war coming up. She noticed in the corner of her eye the group of rebels who had been stationed in Raine's village were leaving with weapons. They were probably heading to the next town. And for some reason, even though raid's are dangerous, she felt relieved.

"Y'know those feelings you get when you think something bad is going to happen? Well, that's how I'm feeling right now." she said, turning so that she could watch her men disappear into the distance. "It's strange."

A light blue explosion was seen way in the distance. It was probably treah that was in close range to someone with ill intentions. But, the explosion was in the direction of her comrades who were headed to the next village. She squinted her eyes to see that no one seemed to be dead, but there were a few injured. Then another explosion happened to be where Raine's "home" was. Raine stared wide-eyed at what had just happened. Her parents' home was destroyed. The shockwave forced her to cover her eyes from incoming debris, but she continued to stare as flames bellowed from the one place she had left to call home.

Of course there were many other abandoned homes elsewhere, but that was her home. It was Storme's home.

It was painful.

"Oh my God..." she muttered under her breath. That was not something she was prepared for. When only a fire was left, she rushed over to what was left of her home. She dropped to her knees clutching what seemed to be a flag. A flag with the Queen's crest on it. She clenched her teeth and furrowed her eyebrows.

"This is why I called you so urgently." A spy. A spy was there right under their noses. A spy had temporarily become a rebel and then turned himself into a suicidal bomber to destroy the headquarters of the Rebellion. Raine hated war. "Hurry, Dakota, Kaede! There are injured down there!" she shouted over the roar of the fire. She pointed down at the valley where the others had been, and she stood quickly to help them. And although she was more concerned about her injured comrades at that time, she couldn't help but curse the military. She cursed them over and over in her head.

[[Aaah! So dramatic! But I couldn't think of any other way to protray this scene. So, please ignore my drama. Two big explosions. That's the main gist of this post.]]

They've done what must be done...

Though harboring some guilt pertaining to the actions of his Comrade, General Prometheus B. Hafstevt now could merely be content in knowing that potential enemies, as well as their shelters, were being eradicated with rapidity.

Pausing briefly to stretch, the young man found himself staring unintentionally in the direction of the disintegrated cottage. It had been many days since he himself was able to take a break, and at this point, it was well-needed. To consider the implications of what had just occured made him twitch; the individuals occupying the house had little to do with the rebellion themselves, and were simply seen as targets due to the fact that it was their children, and not someone else's, that got involved. Taking a seat where he stood, the General sighed, once more regretting the dirtywork that was so often mandatory.

But the cause, the cause! What a noble cause he was serving! Yes, this thought would immediately alleviate the guilty predisposition. Accompanying this thought process with a brief smoke of his pipe, he soon was collected and back on his feet.

My Queen deserves my life and more, he reminded himself. I fight for the safety of both herself and mine.

But--The rumor of a spy had been circulating. The neutrality of the offender concerned him; any specific cause for his actions was not apparent, making him an enemy on both fronts. Being a person demanding of knowledge, the mystery surrounding the entire circumstance of war mande him extremely uneasy. The disease, the Rebellion, the spies... He himself couldn't even be sure who was spying for his own fronts.

With some difficulty, the General rose to his feet, now aware that he must hurry and assemble his ranking officers by moving deeper into town, and possibly closer to the rebels. It was highly likely that the others had arrived hours before he; when deep in thought, his pace often decreased.

Brute force was absolutely necessary if the military hoped to end this war in a short amount of time. Knowing this, the General was now thrilled to consider the Queen's progression, and excited still to know that he himself would be the one to take the reins and keep everyone in order.

Order... And wasn't that the goal?

And I'll have order, if my name isn't General Prometheus B--General Prometheus Hafstevt.

Dakota looked at Raine and sighed. The girl had a fighter's spirit, Dakota would give her that. But pushing yourself too hard wasn't good either. She was about to comment to Raine when she saw the esplosion taking place. Her eyes flew open wide when she figured out which house it belonged to.
She ran to the house with Raine and narrowed her eyes when she saw the Queen's crest. Whoever did this was trying to make a big statement. And that statement was loud and clear: give up. She felt defeated for allowing herself to be fooled so easily. She was a fool for letting whoever the spy was slip by her. But at the same time this gave her more determination to stop the heartless Queen once and for all.
She looked down at Raine and felt her heart go out to the girl. What was she going to do now? She must be feeling worse than Dakota was. She began to rack her brain in search of something nice to say. Well, she was currently living alone in her house. Maybe she could stand a house guest, at least for a little while anyways. She spoke slowly, "Raine, if you wish, you may stay with me. At least consider it.' Then she left to go help those wounded and allow Raine to deal with her sorrow alone.

The dark-haired rebel turned her back on the home engulfed in flames. It was no longer any use to her. However, the second thing that came to her mind after her parents' home was burning, was, 'Oh shit! What will I tell Storme?' She looked back at the mass of raging heat and brushed a few embers from her clothing. Now she was screwed. Her brother would eventually come back to rest and gather provisions, and when he did, he would have no where to come back to. It would be ash and ruin. Not only that, but her home served as a headquarters for the Rebellion. Of course, replacing her home would be as simple as snapping her fingers, but it was convenient.

She smiled thoughtfully at Dakota's offer. It was kind of her, but Raine wasn't looking for sympathy. Nonetheless, she had nowhere to go, so she considered accepting. Dakota had already started down to the injured rebels, and Raine started to. Kaede, not far behind, ran to his house first before following Raine and Dakota. He had a bag slung over his shoulder and he gripped his aruval.

"I think we might be needing these." he stated, quite proudly. He pulled out only one of many handguns he had repaired and made the past few weeks. They were glowing the same light blue color as the explosions. They were powered by traeh. Raine was hesitant to pick it up, sine traeh was what had cause the explosion, but she did anyway. Perhaps it was just mere curiosity. She pulled out her other handgun, which had no traces of the crystal and traded Kaede for the new one. He took the plain handgun and as they were hurrying down to the injured her made quick work of the firearm. He inserted two traeh crystals in places Raine never knew came apart. It was quite impressive.

"They shoot farther, and the shots are way more effective than the plain iron bullets you usually use." He was serious, but it was more than obvious that he was proud of himself for coming up with such an idea. If they were suddenly being attacked by the military, they would surely send troops out to ambush them. At least, they would be a little prepared.

As soon as Dakota neared the injured people with her pack she was bombarded with people crying out for her to help them. She tried to drown the voices out and look for the people that were the most injured. She saw one that was unconscious and was losing a lot of blood and ran over to them. When she was next to them she dropped her bag and took out supplies. She had hoped that she wouldn't have to use them so soon but right now that couldn't be helped. She got out bandages and ointments and began treating the person. When she thought that they would be alright she went over to help more people. Some of them had broken limbs but some others had lost some of theirs entirly. Her heart went out to them (even though she was far too busy to show it). But she was also getting annoyed by the amount of people that were getting mad at her for taking to long. As she was helping one girl with an injured arm she heard a male yell at her to hurry up. She stopped and looked back over to him and yelled, "I'm going as fast as I can. If I go any faster than I wont be able to do as good a job." Then she went back to helping the girl.

Maybe Storme could go check on his sister. That would probably be a good idea. She must be worrying about him a lot. Yes, he would go check on her. He lifted himself out of his chair and made sure no one was in the room. It sure felt like there was someone in there. He was sure that it was nothing though and walked out of the hide out. He walked slower down the streets than usual, just in case she needed more time. Just then as he was walking down the street with a smug look on his silly face he heard a loud strange sound. It didn't sound too great either, and he knew where it was coming from too. Perhaps he would have to yell at Raine. If it was even their house, then he thought of the neighbors. what If they died!? . . . what if Raine died!? his heart skipped a beat or two at the thought. No, he wouldn't let that happen, never.

He almost felt responsible so he bolted down the streets. Much faster than anyone thought he could run. Well, he was capable of a lot, except for one thing that slowed him. His trouble breathing, because of the plague. It built up in his throat making it harder to breath every minute. No time to think of himself though, he was thinking of Raine now. Only Raine. Storme turned into the street too quickly. He fell on his side, injuring his arm, but not too severely. He got up as quick as he could, which didn't work out too well. It strained his arm, and he gave a light groan. No time to be hurt now. Raine. Raine. Raine. Raine. Raine. Ra-. . . .

It was their house.

There it stood, good and proud. Burning, burning, burning, smoke, flames, no. No. Wait. He was dreaming. Yes, good, dreaming. This is what he would believe for a while, dreaming. Not real. Not real. Not real. There she was though standing good and proud. With someone else. Someone strange, no two someone strange. Who? Oh right, some people he made up. Right, just a dream. Ha. He tried to hold his arm casually as it started to sting. Started to numb out, he smiled. Raine.

"Raine"

He said almost too kindly, did she deserve it? Well, if she didn't Storme didn't know why. His throat teased at him, damn plague. Raine. He coughed, breathing heavily from the running. Raine. Could she see him at all? He wondered if maybe she was shocked? Raine. Why would she be shocked though? She didn't do anything wrong, Raine was good. Raine. Raine. Rain... Rain.... Rain. Rain? It rained.

It's fine >.< Makes more epic... ness... epicness!

Raine and Kaede hurried over to help Dakota. Even though they weren't as skilled as she was in the medical field, they could at least help wrapping bandages and the like. Kaede was a bit pissed at the few yelling at them to hurry, and he stifled a laugh when Dakota snapped at them. He went over to help the one man in particular. All he needed was a few bandages to stop him from losing too much blood, but other than that he seemed to be fine.

"She just wants everyone to be treated well. If she rushes to help everyone too fast, she might overlook something, and a mistake like that could be fatal for some. So just bear with me for the time being." Kaede was shocked at the words that had just spilled out of his mouth. He was starting to sound more mature, not like that was much of a bad thing. He smiled, thinking of the way his brother used to act. It was the same, and it warmed his heart.

Raine also went to help. Her comrades were, other than a pain in the butt, very precious to her. They fought for a cause they believed in. They fought to bring down a tyrant that had ruled for too long. They fought with her. And although Storme was in the military, if he saw through Raine's eyes perhaps he would also change his mind and join the rebellion. She looked back at her burning home. The flames were being put out by some of the rebels who hadn't been severely injured. And although the fire seemed to outmatch them, they were taming it little by little. They would soon put out the monstrosity that claimed Raine's home.

Something out of the corner of her view caught her eye. It was a bit out of place compared to all of the rebels. She assumed it was the suicidal maniac that destroyed the rebellion headquarters and the one place she could rest in without fear. How naive such a thought was. Raine started slowly towards this person who seemed so familiar yet so distant. Then she heard a voice come from this person. It was the voice of someone she held dear. It was the voice of someone beloved.

It was Storme's voice.

"Storme!" she replied almost instantly. She started feeling ice cold droplets of water fall over her and she hustled over to her older brother. "What are you doing over here? You could have gotten hurt! Someone might notice you've got U.K.I.! It could get worse!" Raine knew she was only ranting, but she couldn't stop. That would be impossible.
