Thank you for your interest in this roleplay! At the moment, I am not accepting character sheets due to the large group. If you are interested in joining, please feel free to VM/PM me and I will definitely keep you in mind when there are openings. Thank you for your understanding and thank you for reading!

Voted for Best Overall Roleplay!

Hello! Greetings traveler. Welcome to the beautiful kingdom of Lorana (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPrrwWMZEXQ)! I’m sure you’ve heard of it!

You haven’t?

……

Well! That’s okay! Lots of people don’t know about the largest kingdom in the world, it’s perfectly understandable!

Our vast kingdom is made up of towns, farmland, forests, and of course, a gigantic castle right in its center. All of this is ruled by the great King Loranos, his headstrong wife Edalene, and their three accomplished daughters Delwyn, Vaiel, and Edalene II. So far their rule has been just and peaceful, and we live in relative comfort and prosperity.

But don’t turn away so fast Adventurer! There might be some excitement for you yet. You see, darkness has been spreading like wildfire across the world and sneaking its way into our kingdom. Rumors of dragons, evil witches, dark mages and frightening monsters have been whispered amongst the townspeople, and even the most courageous of fighters have turned up their nose at the quests posted on the Kings Bulletin outside of the castle.

That’s where you come in. Are you up for the task of defeating the evil forces threatening to destroy our peaceful existence? It will be difficult, daunting and extremely dangerous. Sadly, some of you may not make it, but that just means more rewards for the ones who do! So sharpen those swords, practice those spells and for goodness sake, take a bath, for your journey is about to begin.

THE KINGS BULLETIN:

1. Retrieve the Magical Harp from the Evil Witch at Silvershadow Woods.

The Magical Harp is the only instrument that can ease the Fairy King into a peaceful slumber. Legends are told that the harp does more than put the Fairies to sleep, it grants wishes by just a flick of a simple melody. Before embarking on this mission, please report to King Loranos for more knowledge on this matter. Quest Completed!

2. ???

Table of Contents:

Prologue (http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=12273)

Chapter 1 (http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=12273&page=4) - Completed

Chapter 2 (http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=12273&page=18) - In progress

GM's Note: This is a free roam fantasy RP with no direct plot. I know that sounds dangerous, but it's not. Eventually these quests will fall into place and there will be one mission that leads into something direct.

P.S: Thank you Angelic for writing the OOC!

The Royal Family of Lorana:
http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs30/f/2008/153/d/6/SoulleSS_by_Hellstern.jpg
When his father passed, Loranos took the throne as king at twenty-two. At forty, Loranos lead the kingdom into great prosperity and made alliances with Anorgath and Lamordia. Most recently he has made a new alliance with the desert kingdom of Gallagona
.
With piercing blue eyes and distinctive dark features, citizens often wonder if he is a man with a cold heart. However, such thoughts are proved wrong, as he is a man who cherishes his people and will do anything to protect the land.

http://fc09.deviantart.net/images3/i/2004/138/2/e/The_Well_of_my_Desires.jpg
Before she met Loranos, she was the princess of Espeos—the kingdom in the sky. She was betrothed to the Prince of Gallagona to form an alliance at the time, but her heart felt ill as soon as she laid eyes on Loranos when he visited. Though, therme is a three year difference between them, it did not stop her from being with him. Disobeying her royal faily, she was casted away from Espeos, never to hear from them again.

Even though the Loranian and Lamordian families are all she has left, the gods (who admire the people of Espeos) still hear Edalene’s prayers and even at times reach out to her.

People often gossip about Queen Edalene being more beautiful than Queen Nelaedra. With her light features and soft blue eyes, they strongly believe that Loranos and Edalene were made for each other.

http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/1223/heartlessl.jpg
She is the oldest, being eighteen and ready to be betrothed. Much like her mother, she is very headstrong, but like her father, she is eager for many things and can be quite talkative. She is the most gorgeous one; taking her looks mainly from her mother and thus, she is often most talked about. Mostly about which prince will take her hand.

In the castle, Edalene enjoys blaming her troubles on her sister, Vaiel.

http://img813.imageshack.us/img813/5024/opale.jpg
Unlike her elder sister, Vaiel has no interest in arranged marriages. At sixteen, she enjoys studying the arts of magic. Vaiel is unique in that her features are very similar to her father and the night sky. It’s superstition to believe that being born under the full moon grants the household bad luck. The fact that her hobby is reading and practicing spells is enough of a concern in the royal family.

Though she is the silent type, the servants of the castle sometimes fear her.

http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/2193/sucreorgek.jpg
Being the youngest at nine years old, she is the most stubborn one. Don’t let the innocent freckle face persuade you into thinking she’s a sweet child; Delwyn is quite the mischievous one. She enjoys sneaking out of the castle to play in the woods or explore the markets. Aside from causing ruckus in the castle, Delwyn enjoys reading tales about dragons and even collects figurines of the legendary beast.

At most, Delwyn looks more like her mother and Edalene II; though, she seems to look up to Vaiel more.

He is a long-term protector of the royal family, granting him the title Sir for many of his achievements such as defending the first King of Lorana in the old wars and leading the army by his side. Now at fifty, he still swears an oath to protect the new royal family. It is an honor for a squire to be assigned to Sir Hesper Leret. Ever since he trained Ialia and granted her knighthood, she has looked up to him as a father and always asks him advice. Though he has taught other knights, he sees Ialia as his very own daughter.

World Map:

http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b180/pureelven/AthamarWorldmap.jpg

Large numbers are of importance
Smaller numbers are of little importance
More locations shall unlock throughout different quests

1. Lorana - The Kingdom that you will start in. South from Lorana is Silvershadow Woods where you will need to go.

2. Lamordia - Neighboring Kingdom ruled by King Loranos' brother.

3. Meadowdale - A small village by Lamordia

4. Corus - A city by the water. The have ports to bring in trade and goods from other kingdoms across the world

5. Porzul - Much like Corus

6. Lumina - A city in darkness. The people blame Espeos for blocking the sunlight.

7. Espeos - A kingdom in the sky. Legends are told that the gods favor the people of Espeos because they are closer to them.

8. Draconis Peak - HERE BE DRAGONS. They eat people here.

9. Perennon Forest - A forest mainly dominated by Elves. People come here to practice the skills of a ranger or a rogue. The towns and villages are deep within the woods; some Elves and humans even live within the trees.

10. Gallagona Desert - No one knows much of Gallagona or the Kingdom that resides. It’s a barren land filled with the unknown.

11. The Talking Marshes - A swamp with spirits of the dead. They lie to the adventurers telling them where to go, however, most travelers end up dying for they cannot get out. Hence they become part of the talking marshes.

Or at least that’s how the legends go!

12. Anorgath - A kingdom ruled by the elemental sisters Queen Damia and Queen Flannery. It is the land of mages and magic. With a school not too far from the kingdom, it’s no wonder people come here to study the art of magic.

Rules:

As GM of the roleplay, I have the right to reject your character if I find it over the top, godmoddish, or for whatever reason I may find.

Dedication plays an important role. If you back out, I have the right to kill off your character. Please notify me if you cannot be part of the rp any more.

Must be literate and an experienced writer. Hurrr durrr.

Everyone is more than welcome to create more than one character as long as they can handle it.

For this roleplay, everyone is going to have their main character that will embark on these quests. Aside from your main character, you have the option of making side characters that will appear only in certain quests.

Because this is a chapter-based roleplay, everyone is allowed to chip in ideas. Our characters will be traveling across the world a lot, so if you have a “quest” in mind, I beg you to tell us! It will make the roleplay more exciting that way!

Always ask questions if you have any.

If needed, more rules will be added.

Before I try to make a character, a plot will come in sooner or later? Or is it just one giant quest?

CALYPSO
02-06-2011, 01:45 AM
There's going to be a quest that leads into the plot. It's not going to happen now but definitely later on throughout the RP.

I too have a question! do we have to pick a location from the map or can we make up one?

If we have to pick one from the map when do you think you'll have the descriptions up?

CALYPSO
02-06-2011, 02:04 AM
I'm actually writing the descriptions as we speak. It's nothing too long, just a simple sentence of what they are and stuff. But, I really don't mind if you make up a place of your own as long as it's a small village/town within the world map of Athamar. ^_^

I hope that makes sense @_@

EDIT: Descriptions are up. It's nothing serious, but you get the idea XD

Name: Jason Reggin

Age: 20

Appearance: has dark brown hair which he keeps very short on account of the weather being a good deal hotter than he’s used to, like most of the people from Salaplun he’s fairly tall and ruddy cheeked. He’s also recently tried growing out a beard to get more of a ‘grizzled’ look but in reality it makes him look like he doesn’t understand how a razor works. He has a longsword he keeps sheathed and buckled to his back, and a single gauntlet on his left hand that he never takes off

Location: Salaplun

Class/Weapon: Problem Solver, and he owns a long sword and a fire gauntlet

Personality: Jason is a snarky and unmotivated person with a penchant for getting kicked out of taverns and run out of town (sometimes both in the same night!). Despite his seeming laziness he will do almost any job as long as he’s asked by a beautiful woman or offered a good deal of money. He also has a tendency to blunder into danger but he has thus far come away unharmed, this is due partially to the unique combination of skills he wields and the inexplicable amount of dumb luck that seems to follow him everywhere he goes

History: Jason was born in Salaplun, a town known for being really cold for most of the year and its huge population of bears. When he was sixteen he apprenticed himself to a powerful sorceress who through a combination of her ice and snow based magic and her cold personality was known as the ‘Ice Queen.’ After two years he still knew nothing about magic and was getting fed up, he had only joined because of the Ice Queen’s beauty and because he had a thing for dominating women, however the constant jeers and insults were starting to take a toll on his self esteem, plus her beauty didn’t make up for the constant discomfort and freezing pain that came from living in an ice castle. So one day while his mentor was out he left with a plan to go to Lorana, but not without stealing a fire gauntlet, an orb of eternal snow, and a compass that always pointed to whatever you desired. He then promptly sold the compass and orb before he realized what they really did for a new sword and a boat ticket to Lorana.

On the boat he discovered that the gauntlet he kept could create gouts of flame or fireballs just by willing it, he also worked on his swordplay practicing with the crew, right up until he accidently poked out one of the sailor’s eyes, the trip was a great deal more tense after that but eventually he made it. Once in Lorana he wandered never staying in one place for long, to keep himself fed he did the occasional odd job, over time he’s garnered a reputation for being willing to go to places most people won’t and doing things most people won’t do, and despite his unorthodox methods he’s always gotten the job done.
_____________

by the by he's human and not sure which country Salaplun would be in... wherever the cold country is...yeah

02-06-2011, 03:26 AM
you're accepted! I figured Salaplun would be all way the up there on the map. Somewhere…up there XD

I also updated the description for Perennon Forest since it was lacking. :XD:

Nah, those are just places I haven't listed yet. They'll get unlocked once we get deeper into the RP.

I did. And I grew tired. And honestly, I don't really think it's that important for every place to be named. I mean, the point of this RP is to explore as the characters go on quests.

Is there a central city to Lorana?

Kiall
02-06-2011, 05:01 AM
I accept your challenge!

Location

this would be the island just south of Corus

Spinner Isle: A large tropical island, most of the island is thick jungle except for a few of the coastlines where settlers have built a thriving village, The village lives in peaceful coexistence with the clans of large intelligent spiders that inhabit the jungle. The Island’s chief export is the silk traded from the spiders in exchange for bits of colorful glass the spiders find pleasing.

Quest
Discover the Secret of Meadowdale
Meadowdale has recently fallen off the map, those who have tried to travel there have been blocked by a thick wall of fog two miles away from the village, and anyone who attempts to enter has never been seen again. The king of Lamordia has requested aid from its neighbor Lorana on how to deal with the problem

Wattz
02-06-2011, 05:05 AM
Hello! I have a quick question XD.

I might make a character who is a giant. Would that be acceptable? Also, if so, where do you think the best place for a giant to hail from would be? I'm looking at the list of areas and I'm not quite sure where a giant would hide out best .__. Or should I just make up my own small town for them in some unnamed mountains?

CALYPSO
02-06-2011, 07:10 AM
VL: A central city? I don't think so seeing how there's Lorana and Lamordia right next to each other.

Kiall: Those quests look fantastic! I'll definitely add them to the bulletin!

Wattz: A GIANT? ~rofl~ How gigantic are we talking here? Like fe fi fo fum big? LOL! Omg, part of me wants to say yes on this character, but let me think on it first, mk?

Ace of Hearts™
02-06-2011, 07:12 AM
I mean like a seat of power. A grand city where the king lives, yeah?

...

Did I spel it rong?

Kiall

I imagine it's like Mexico where the name of the capital is also the name of the country

Ace of Hearts™
02-06-2011, 07:16 AM
So, Lorana City?

Wattz
02-06-2011, 07:18 AM
Necella: Yup! It'd be pretty big, but not... TOO big. I really wanna give this a shot, so do you want me to make you a height comparison drawing? XDDDD

Kiall
02-06-2011, 07:24 AM
I mean if we're talking GIANT giant then you'd pretty much be able to step on anything we come across. Which is something my character would like but it wouldn't make for a very exciting RP

Everyone else: Oh no! a monster!

Wattz: I step on it

Everyone else: ohh... welll... okay back to the tavern then?

Wattz: I... accidentally stepped on that too

Everyone else: huh... well shit

Wattz
02-06-2011, 07:26 AM
@Kiall: Naw, not THAT big, but it would still be a good, big size, enough to still qualify them as a giant without godmoding left and right XD.

Kiall
02-06-2011, 07:31 AM
well in that case I think you might be thinking of a ogre, or I dunno a half giant or something... I'd say go with ogre

just an fyi real ogres, speak in guttural rhyme like so "Me bash! me smash!" or "You ugly witch! Me smash your head into ditch!" haha ohh.. where have all the rhyming ogres gone? it's such shame

Wattz
02-06-2011, 07:36 AM
Naw, I mean a giant XD. I have read things where giants were small enough so that they couldn't step on anything and everything. I mean, you can tweak races a bit. But I guess for the options you just gave me, no, I guess a half-giant would be more accurate than an ogre.

CALYPSO
02-06-2011, 07:43 AM
I don't have any problems with half-giants honestly. It's definitely something different! As long as it's not overly powerful then I can handle that just fine ^_^ If you want Wattz, you can make up a little place of your own on the world map or have them come from someplace already.

For some reason, I picture half giants and ogres to be from Gallagona Desert. That place isn't exactly safe or a paradise ;)

And as for where the seat of power be located, it would be at the same place. I think I mentioned the kingdom having it's towns, it's cities, and then the main castle in the center of it all. Something like that.

I apologize, I'm horrible with maps but I needed to provide one for this RP ._.

• Name: Marilyn Gale

• Age: 15

• Appearance: Human girl; average height for her age and average weight, being well-fed, yet active. She has brown, straight hair styled into a simple center-part bob which frames her heart-shaped face. Her ruddy complexion is freckled beneath her eyes and across the bridge of her fine nose.

She wears bifocal spectacles, though they are not for corrective wear, but for reading and to assist in the detection of arcane sources. They also provide some anti-glare protection.

Her attire is of simple hempen earthtones with a practical, ascetic flair. She wears a traveler's mantle and wears a hat shaped like a drooping leaf. A leather belt lined with pouches hangs on her hips, and a leather case with a strap worn across her chest carries her precious books. A small haversack is worn opposite to it.

• Location: Lamordia

• Class/Weapon: "Magic Shop" Witch, Apprentice; Shillelagh, used as her spell focus and improvised melee weapon for self-defense

• Personality: To an observer, Marilyn seems sullen and disinterested in her surroundings. When she isn't reading, she is looking away from people or concerning herself with things. Her interactions are quiet, polite and to the point. She is obedient when ordered and silently fulfills requests when asked nicely. She seems so very neutral to everyone and everything around her, with the exception being to animals and fae, to whom she is rather open and sociable.

• History: Marilyn hasn't an illustrious nor detailed history to relate. She was born and raised by her parents, went to school, found her talent in arcana and was so encouraged by her parents to pursue it, as she had not herself voiced any apparent interest in her own future. After apprenticing under her master, upon his recommendation she was pushed out into the world as a sort of "distance learning", as he put it, to better understand magic beyond memorized formulas and books.

With a bare allowance of "pocket money", she is forced to rely on fulfilling services for clients to survive and broaden her experience. She is expected to perform "Sendings" to report her progress to her master.

AngelicAsylum

Okay I'm posting both the evil witch and my perma-character. We'll start with the EVIL WITCH mwahahaahaha:

Name: Mordra Sayd

Age: 272 years

Appearance:
http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll126/AngelicAsylum/49443b24b883eefa290888d3d5b88356.jpg
When Mordra was a girl she was fairly plain, with a thin, sallow body and long dark hair that was too limp to put into any popular styles. As the years progressed, however, she has used her magic to keep her youth and life everlasting. There have been some negative side effects, of course. Her hair has become so ethereal that it floats above her, constantly moving and changing into odd shapes and colors. Her skin and clothing has also taken on this ethereal quality, and some believe that she has become more magic than human.

Location: After being banished from the Anorgath's School of Magic, she traveled to the Talking Marshes and resided there for over 200 years. Rumor has it that she used the spirits in the Marsh to manipulate any travelers that came across her home to do her bidding. However, it has been proven that she has taken up residence in the Silvershadow Woods, and the King believes that she has stolen the magical harp that keeps the Fairy King at bay.

Class/Weapon: Human magi, powerful beyond imagination and incredibly dangerous. Can shape shift into other forms, manipulate the weather and the elements, and can drain the life energy from enemies to heal herself. It's difficult to say what her weaknesses are but the strange looking mouth on her chest might be a hint...

Personality: Bitter and angry at her banishment, she despises almost all magic users regardless of alignment, but is willing to use them for her advances if need be. She sees every other living creature as below her, not worth her valuable time and frighteningly pathetic. Her goal is to take over Athamar and reign over these worthless beings with her power and might. Those that scorned her for her love of power and the dark arts will soon bow at her heels.

History: As a young girl she always held onto her beliefs of superiority amongst her peers and advanced quickly in the arcane arts. Evil magic is strictly forbidden there, however, but this never stopped Mordra, who would sneak into the ancient libraries at night and get caught studying powerful spells that used evil spirits and demons. Eventually her lust for knowledge worried the masters of the school so much she was banished without ever taking her final test. Infuriated at being thrown away, she entered the Talking Marshes and used the spirits to further her own ends. Over the years she grew more powerful and more knowledgeable in the dark arts, letting her fury build over the years until it became ready to spill over and attack all other beings in the world.

~~~~~~~
Okay, here's my regular character.
Name: Isora Lelah
Age: 27
Appearance:
http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll126/AngelicAsylum/Dead_dreamworld_by_LuneBleu.jpg
Isora keeps her long red hair in a black cap but has difficulty stuffing it all in there which results in it escaping and flying about. She is forced to wear black at all times and the choker around her neck holds the marking of a murderer. She is just above average height (5'6) and average weight, but her facial features are hardened and pale, which can be seen as unpleasant and dramatic. Her shame keeps most of her body is covered except for her long, skeletal fingers.
Location: Isora was born in Meadowdale but was taken to Anorgath to study magic at a very young age. There she lived until her 25th year until she was forced to escape execution, and has been a fugitive traveler since.
Class/Weapon: Human Magi, of the Dark Alignment. Before her arrest she was strictly of the Light Alignment and sought to do good. She keeps a dagger at her side in case she can't use her magic, but isn't particularly good at welding it. Her walking stick can also be used as a magical or a physical weapon, and assists in her spell casting. She carries a large spellbook in a bag that hangs from her side, which she must study every night in order to properly practice her spells.
Personality: She is a quiet sort, wary of the suspicious looks of strangers and constantly on the run from the law. She is tired of traveling and despises the fact that she is forced to use evil magic and stay under the dark alignment. She feels ashamed of her appearance, and embarrassed in large crowds. Staring at her is not a good idea.
History: Isora was the youngest, born of a large family. A very large family, in fact, of thirteen children. Unable to keep everyone fed, her parents took her at the age of four to the Anorgath school, where she became an apprentice to one of the toughest Masters of Magic in the institution. She studied hard (there wasn't much of a choice with her strict lifestyle and high expectations) and eventually grew passionate about the arts and sought to master them. Her goal in life was to do good, and use her arsenal of spells to feed the hungry and shelter the homeless. She rose to one of the best students at the school and was set to take her final test on her 25th birthday.
The night before the test however, she was awakened by loud voices, the sounds of spells being cast and the smell of burning. Running to her Master's room, she was confronted with the remains of his charred, twisted corpse. There was no sign of the killer anywhere. Others who heard the scuffle burst in and she was immediately blamed for his murder, even though she adamantly refused the deed. There was simply too much evidence against her, and her goodness was seen as a ruse to trick those around her.
As punishment she was forced into the Dark Alignment, her clothing permanently changed to black, and a choker magically bound to her throat, displaying the mark of a killer. Evil spells once closed off to her were suddenly at her disposal, but any and all spells of neutrality and goodness were erased from her mind. On the night of her execution she was forced to use these spells to escape, trying woefully to find the least harmful of the lot to restrain the guards and destroy her cell.
Now she wanders across the world, searching in vain for the real killer of her Master. She does odd jobs by anyone who will hire her just to get enough coin for food and lodging, but refuses anything that goes against her morals. Many people fear her and there is a rather large bounty of her head. These quests may be her only chance for redemption.
Ugh. Tired of tinkering with this thing. It’s given me soooo much shit >___< *throws in the towel* Judge it as you will and I will alter accordingly XD. Though I am really afraid that it’s exceptionally clunky. I'll probably edit the personality later....
*bangs head repeatedly*
Name: Ualan of the Clan Lothar
Age: 19
Appearance: http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/640/ualan02.jpg
Ualan stands at 10’ 8’’. She has dark orange eyes, dark skin, and very tangled black hair that is often tied back with a strip of cloth. Ualan’s feet are heavily calloused from not wearing shoes. She wears light brown clothing and pulls an enormous cloak over her head and around her body in smoldering heat.
Half giants are a race that lives deep within the Gallagona Desert. They’re often referred to as full giants, despite the fact that they are not full-blooded and are nowhere near the same size as a normal giant. Full giants, (Fet’ar, roughly translating to “The True” in their language) though massive, are very rare to find, and as such they are almost mythological. It is rumored amongst the half giants that there are only four in existence. The four remaining giants are like deities to the half-giants, and there are extensive stories revolving around them that shape half giant culture.
Desert half giants are hostile towards all invaders into their lands. They kill on sight to protect their heritage, mainly because they’re fearful of outside influences disintegrating their beloved culture. Their current state as half-giants is already an attribute to these outside influences.
Giants develop rapidly and reach their maximum height at young ages, some as young as twelve years old. It is much more common for them to reach their maximum height at fifteen, however. Any younger than this is considered a rarity. The average height of a male is 12 feet while the average height of a female is about 11.
They live in a primarily patriarchal society, where men go off hunting and protecting the village while the women usually raise the young. It is not, however, uncommon to see women protecting and hunting as well, especially in cases of extreme danger.
Half giants do not have a word that exactly translates to “half giant” in their language. Instead, they know themselves as Fet’ar-uner, which roughly translates to “descendants of The True.”As such, outsiders often believe that they are full giants. Usually only those with extensive knowledge of the culture are aware of their true status as half giants.
Location: Gallagona Desert
Class/Weapon: Fighter/Primarily weaponless. She uses her fists in battle, but if push comes to shove she’ll use anything she can pick up to crash, bash, and thrash her opponent.
Personality: Ualan is only “stupid” in terms of human culture, especially since she only knows so much of the primary language. Her father taught her enough for conversational purposes, but her ability to communicate is very stilted. The language and cultural barrier makes her seem dumber than she actually is, and the giant stigma doesn’t help her case.
Giants are naturally inclined to be weary of outsiders, so Ualan felt very uncomfortable upon treading into outside territories at first. She’s still somewhat tentative and frustrated about the whole ordeal, but is slowly learning to accept the situation. She’s always been a friendly individual, smiling often and making jokes. None of her jokes translate very well outside of her language though. Ualan doesn’t go out of her way to be kind to someone without cause, but when she does feel that she’s done someone wrong or feels bad about her actions, she’ll do her best to make them feel better.
Though she feels she should be more concerned for her father’s current wellbeing, she’s undecided about her decision. Was it worth leaving the desert to search for her father Kuan? Or was this just an excuse for some deeper hidden meaning? Or maybe Ualan’s really as stupid as she looks, and simply follows orders blindly.
History: Ualan has never known much about her family’s history. She knows that before she was born, her father Kuan travelled the world and came back with mountains of information about a variety of cultures. When he came back (much to the dismay of the other half giants, so much persuasion and convincing was necessary to allow him back into the village, though this is another story that Ualan knows very little about). Her mother Liath died soon after giving birth to her younger brother, who later died at an exceedingly young age. Ualan herself was quite young when all of this happened. As a result, she’s very disconnected from the events, and was content with being raised only by her father.
Unfortunately, Ualan grew up very disconnected from her father. There was no hate between them, no resentment, but their relationship was one solely born of obligations. In many attempts at becoming accepted back into the community, Kuan devoted much of his time to participating in hunts to protect the village. Not only that, but he had a naturally distant personality and seemed to lack the will to do much for Ualan. As such, Ualan was raised by a variety of mothers around the village. However, her father did teach her conversational English” every once in a while, which served as a sort of “bonding time” in and of itself.
When Ualan was eighteen, she witnessed her father sneaking a very small human into the village every so often, and always at night. She took to eavesdropping on their conversations, but they spoke completely in the primary language. Ualan could only catch snippets of words, and even then it wasn’t enough to fully comprehend what was being said. The stranger’s face was obscured by heavy clothing, but he was always hunched over as if from old age. The stranger spoke little while Kuan spoke with urgency, as if he were pleading. These exchanges occurred over a few months before Ualan awoke one morning to find that her father had disappeared.
He did, however, leave behind a cryptic note.
”The King of Lorana paves the way.”
Despite the fact that her father had been generally distant from her, she couldn’t help but feel confused without a family member around. What would the village do if they found out her traitorous father had once again fled? Panicked and confused, Ualan decided to search for Kuan on the outskirts of the village, thinking he was just outside. But she travelled further… and further… and further….
Finally, she managed to step outside Gallagona Desert and into a small city. It took a lot of work and a lot of mustered up “English” to find out what “Lorana” could be, but when she found out it was a place, she decided to blindly go forth and find it. Ualan travelled on foot to Lorana and reached it by the time she was 19. Now, Ualan stands at the edge of the Kingdom, unsure of what awaits….
Definitely wanna wait on a few more players. At least, to have some male characters before we start @_@
Here's my character btw!
Name: Ialia Avalden
Age: 26
Appearance:
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b180/pureelven/Ialia3.jpg
Ialia stands 6’0 with a muscular (but feminine) body frame thanks to the years of training, fighting, and wearing medium to heavy armor. Whenever she is on duty or in battle, her dark brown hair is normally braided and pulled into a bun (to protect herself from anyone who pulls on her hair). For other times or ceremonial purposes, her hair is let down with several pieces braided and reaches down her back.
Ialia is almost always seen with her armor. But on her off duty days, she wears her midnight blue dress (http://www.alleycatscratch.com/lotr/Human/Eowyn/Wool/Eowyn_wool_mz_cal.jpg) that represents the Avalden bloodline; the family crest can be seen on the front of her gown, just beneath the belt.
Location: Lorana
Class/Weapon: As a knight, she is highly capable of using blades, axes, and hammers. Though she prefers her sword (http://wiki.guildwars.com/images/archive/1/1f/20070424095229!Gothic_Sword.jpg) and shield (http://wiki.guildwars.com/images/6/66/Norn_Shield.jpg), she'll use her hammer (http://wiki.guildwars.com/images/8/86/Deldrimor_Maul.jpg) if she has too.
Personality: Loyal and chivalrous like any knight, she swears an oath of honor to protect the Loranian Family and the kingdom. Though, when it comes to duties like watching the castle gates, she can’t help but fall asleep on her job (unless, the youngest princess is making her escape again). She enjoys tasks that require traveling and fighting.
Even though she is an honorable woman, her fun personality lies within the taverns of Lorana. She has no problem belching in front of people and if a man wants to start a fight with her she often wins them. She likes to tell stories about herself although they are so far fetched, it's difficult to tell if she is speaking the truth. Obnoxious, loud mouthed, and overly confident, it’s no wonder men and women either loathe her or admire her.
History: Ialia remembers her childhood starting at seven years old when she entered the life as a page. She trained and fought with the boys, whilst getting picked on because of her gender. That came to a sudden halt when she had her growth spurt and towered some of them. Instead, she became a part of them, knowing well that these were the men she will be fighting with in the future. At age fourteen, she became a squire and was assigned to Sir Hesper Leret—their main commander. Feeling honored and excited, Ialia made it her duty to serve under him and learn every skill taught by him.
When she became twenty years old, that’s when things grew hectic. Anorgath was under attack by a ferocious ice dragon and the Queens called for Lorana’s aid. It was not the first time Ialia entered battle, but it was her first battle outside of her kingdom. Upon their arrival, they noticed the dragon kidnapped Queen Damia; perhaps the dragon had a fondness for her since her element was ice. After fighting with the beast, the dragon comfortably wrapped its body around the main point of the castle, ignoring the army of humans before it. Without hesitation, Ialia made her way to the very top of the castle to save the Queen. It was a dangerous battle, but it was a quick bonk to the dragon’s head with her hammer and it released Queen Damia soon after. The dragon was too much in a daze to attack again and only flew back to its homeland.
After witnessing her bravery, Sir Hesper Leret granted Ialia knighthood that same day.
Here you are and there you go...
Name: Tal'set
Age: 28
Appearance:
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y297/total121/juton.jpg
Standing at around 9ft, this Jotun is one of the strongest in the many Jotun tribes. The skull is that of a dragon's as the Jotun have lived close with the dragons for some time. They feel they are guardians to the lands of Draconus and seek to defend the dragons from 'ignorant' warriors seeking only a careless trophy for a selfish King. The skulls of lost dragons are worn to ensue fear into enemies invading their lands. The standards on his back bearing an orc and human skull on top is to symbolize his war efforts and what carnage he has spread in the battlefield. The addition of long hair is to follow that of a dragon's which was usually very long. Other decor is added from time and collections from other places or pieces from enemy combatants. The armor and shield are made of some of the strongest wood which helps to protect the native tribes well.
Location: In the forests surrounding Draconus Peak
Class/Weapon: Tal'set is ranked as a Dragon Guard and given the basics of that class. The weapons he bears are the Guan dao and Juton High Guard.
The Guan dao stands at 12ft which assists a Jotun with keeping enemies away and useful for hordes. It is light enough for a Juton to hold with one hand and supported by the armpit for leverage. However for complete use of it, the shield must be tied to the Juton's back or unequipped for swinging to be allowed.
Juton High Guard is the name of the massive shield on the pic. It is bound twice by layers of hard wood so that it cannot be broken by weapons as other shields can. The teeth on the bottom are used to dig the guard into the ground in use of a barricade as well as a weapon for stabbing enemies laying on the ground. The shield is often soaked in water for use against anyone using fire. Being that the shield is so large, the Juton can crouch behind it while moving into combat.
Personality: Tal'set is regarded as noble and quiet. He will keep to the mission and do what he finds best in the course of doing it for supportive uses but isn't very talkative due to his insecurities around 'outlanders'. He has fought many and seen the carnage of various races that reside in memories that stick to him like sap. For some, it is hard to earn his trust depending on their race or relations.
History: At a young age, Juton went through customary tradition in finding the field best for him. It turned out to be the tribe's army and beginning as an archer for distant support since he had yet grown to his current height. In his mid to late teenage years, he had fought in several skirmishes and battles, some around protecting pathways leading to the caves under Draconus as well as fighting invaders. Growing to a threatening height of nine feet, mastering the bow and the basic warrior weapons, and growing out his hair longer than most, it was deemed he was to be given a promotion to Dragon Guard. Recently he has helped in serving his tribe and helping with diplomacy with nearby civilizations. He has been chosen to become an emissary of the Juton and sent to assist in Lorana.
I see you haven't fill your Rogue quota. I can help.
Name: Ceasios Syom.
Age: 34.
Appearance: http://old.enworld.org/Pozas/Pictures/Oddballs/human_rogue.jpg
Location: Lorana slums.
Class/Weapon: The Retired Assassin; Ceasios was trained to fight with finesse rather than brute force. To this degree, Ceasios is very fast and agile, and fights with a fine Steel Rapier (http://www.digital-eel.com/scans/images/swords_rapier_big.gif) made for fine slashes and pierces. It is, however it is a very weak sword, and will likely shatter if struck with a heavy weapon, or used to chop. In this case, he falls to his secondary set of skills. He is a master of the martial art, "Elven Fury," a style with combines acrobatics and fast strikes to down opponants.
Personality: Ceasios is a polite man to most he sees. He'll keep most judgement to himself, unless he is truly disgusted by a man or woman, in some cases. He is also kind hearted, helping the poor by giving his own pay. He owns very little, save for armor, clothes, weapons and enough coin to eat well. However, he is torn within himself. He belonged to an elite group of men and women of all races with one goal: To rid the world of corruption and evil, at any cost. They targeted the worst. Corrupt politicians, Marauder Warlords, Necromancers. All have fallen to them, and more. He followed a strict code of justice, which contradicted with his own sense of morality. If the target was a Necromancer who defiled the dead to help cure diseases for the living, he must still be killed. He saw the world in black and white, and still does, for the most part. He tries to forget, tries to see grey, but only finds difficulty.
History: Ceasios never knew his real parents. Instead he was raised at an orphanage somewhere in Lorana. He remembered the strictness of the administators. The poor quality of the beds and food and building. It wasn't uncommon for 10 or more kids to die in the winter. But Ceasios never let this break him. No no. He carried a strange determination to live that the other kids didn't. That orphanage was worse than death, in some cases. At 11, he was bought my a mysterious man in red silk robes and taken to the city of Lumina. In a large warehouse, in the backalleys and slums of the city, was the base of The Organization.
Throughout his life, he traveled all throughout Athamar. The Organization had ties to every kingdom. He learned of many cultures and people of the world. He saw ruins and temples forgotten my time and man, but not beast. He saw the troubles of the world, and worse yet, the troubles that The Organization caused. He left them, something that was punished by death. If they caught you, that is. He now works as freelance "authority" for the good of the people.
I think most, if not all of us, have personal quests on our own. Hence our reason to do the quests at Lorana. For example, since my character is an obnoxious Knight--her reason would be for fame and fortune.
Or taking another character (let's say Angelic's), Isora is looking for the real murderer of her teacher. So she has issues she needs to take care of on her own.
Soo, things like that I suppose.
And Rogues are more about stealth than combat, imo.
Yes. I wrote my character with a personal quest in mind. How Angelic's character is written aswell is what I had in mind. Actually dealing with your character. Sorta how Dragon Age does it. Say you catch wind of that dragon that evaded is around, burning the country side, let's go finish him off.
Name: Reilios
Age: 48
Appearance:
http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs51/f/2009/311/a/2/a2a9146b8b2e106f7c0352f48a49d412.jpg
~ Almost 6ft to the withers
~ Just over 8ft (not including his horn)
~ Just over 10ft (including his horn)
There are many in the world of Athamar that have a distorted image of what the unicorn looks like. It is no wonder as, those that have managed to be ‘tamed’ by the human or elven race (the only species containing individuals who think it acceptable to do such an act) tend to be clipped and trimmed to perfection. Many members of royalty insist on capturing their unicorn steed young so its horn can be forced to grow straight as is considered ‘correct’ by the general public.
Reilios on the other hand is an example of an untamed unicorn. His coat, although still soft and fine, is more silver than white and has been allowed to grow freely. His mane and tail are dark grey in colour and tangled from lack of proper grooming. As with all natural unicorn, his horn is black to match his hooves. Ice-blue eyes give away an intelligence equal, or perhaps even superior, to most the members of the human race. Although he is a naturally clean creature, he does not place as much importance on hygiene and appearance as most humanoid races.
In complete absence of light, Reilios’ coat becomes slightly luminous.
Location: Born in the fields bordering the Perennon Forest.
Class/Weapon: Healer / None (excepting his horn and hooves)
Unicorns are often hailed as the greatest of healers, one of the many reasons why Kings capture them as mounts. In fact, the ‘taming’ actually diminishes their restorative powers and wild Unicorn are much more adept with white magic than their captured counterparts. They specialise in healing and purification magic.
Healing spells can be cast over medium distances but obviously work best with skin-to-skin contact. Contact with the horn of the unicorn provides the best healing as this is the main source of their innate magical power – It is often said that the healing received in this way is unrivalled in strength by any other race. Consistent healing will drain the Unicorn’s energy levels however.
The removal of toxins and curses (purification spells) require contact with the Unicorn’s horn. They are capable of removing even the deadliest poisons but the Unicorn will suffer nausea and dizziness as a side effect relative to the volume and toxicity of the poison.
His horn is a natural catalyst for all innate spells.
Reilios is currently working on his understanding of protective spells, even though they are not spells innately known by the Unicorn race. At the moment, he is only able to create weak barriers and deflect small objects but he working vigorously to improve his strength in this area.
Personality:
It is often said that Reilios loves the sound of his voice too much, perhaps simply to prove he can speak as so few people believe. He will often regale his companions with the greatest of stories; either those embedded in history or those he has witnessed first hand. Either are told with an unbound fascination, doing nothing to cover his enjoyment over an epic tale. He has a wealth of knowledge about the world, its cultures and its back-stories, making him an efficient guide and historian. It should perhaps be noted that his interest is more in the mystical and phenomenal – He finds no joy from repeating the mishaps of pointless human battles over power and greed.
He is not cold-hearted but he dislikes nonsense. He finds it hard to differentiate between genders and ages in other races so he has the same attitude towards everyone indiscriminately; this can sometimes make him appear morally ambiguous but he does not do it intentionally. His manner can be condescending and aloof but he is not beyond emotion. In fact, there are times when he could be considered over-emotional – feminine almost – but this is rarely towards humans simply due to his difficulty relating with humanoid species.
He wishes to witness adventure and explore the world for all its secrets and brutality but does not want to be the one taking the risks. His racial skills in healing and purification enable him to take a back seat during combat whilst still remaining a useful asset to the group. In this way he can live out his dreams whilst hopefully surviving the tale that he can later pass on to an eager audience. Some may point this out as cowardice but Reilios can not understand why anyone would seek death when there is so much left unknown in the world.
His greatest and most unobtainable dream is to be able to play the harp so that he can compose music to accompany his ballads. It will most likely always be just a wistful fantasy but he does not let it cull his enthusiasm for turning his tales to – currently music-less - song.
History:
Reilios was always a curious colt and saw every aspect of his surroundings as a puzzle to be solved. He lived contentedly in his herd until late adolescence where, as with most creatures of a significant intelligence, he decided he wanted more. The humans and the elves acted like they knew everything but he was sure he could find cracks in their knowledge and show their ignorance. He was not happy with a bestial lifestyle and he did not plan to settle for being someone’s ‘tamed’ mount. He wanted to be the unbiased source, unaligned to any involved race, which could retell history in all its honesty – The corruption of kings, the misdeeds of women and the fatal mistakes of war. He wanted to know the world for its secrets, the hidden places and the unexplained beauty that often goes unseen. He feels it his duty to spread the word of such things and hopefully, to ensure such knowledge is preserved even after he is gone. He is an expert in story-telling, composing songs and even poetry.
His explorations did not always go smoothly and a lone unicorn always tended to draw attention to itself without effort. Thankfully, it is not as easy to capture an adult as it is a foal and humans’ attempts to tame him have been in vain. If you asked him, he would tell a ‘humble’ story of his great escapes but in truth, his freedom can mostly be put down to luck.
After wandering the world for a few decades, appreciating the physical aspects of nature and the history of culture, he thought it best to start focusing his efforts to the present times. However if one is to be an unbiased source, one must experience the tale first-hand. He concluded the best method to do this would be surround himself in adventure, his reason for currently being in Lorana.
Wow, I love the diversity we have as a group in this RP. You are totally accepted Auki!
Great job everyone :D I'm seriously loving all of the character sheets!
Leninade: I actually got an idea planned out for that Dragon (which later on in the RP, Angelic will be taking control over). It's going to be quite exciting ;)
So we got some half giants, a unicorn, a different race that lives in Draconis, and the normal human beings. I say this is quite the party! :D
Ok, I did this one kinda quick, but hopefully she'll be ok. :) Thanks for waiting, Necella!
Name: Phoebe Jax
Age: 24
Appearance: Phoebe has spent nearly all of her life outdoors, and she certainly looks the part. Her skin has been bronzed by the sun and her cheeks flushed with exertion of walking wherever she goes. Her straight, chocolate brown hair hangs down to her shoulder blades however it chooses to fall, as it’s never known much more to run through it besides her own slim fingers. Her blue eyes sparkle with a childish mischief and she wears a friendly grin, a combination of which often gives Phoebe a playful, carefree look.
She chooses clothing for comfort rather than much style, usually in greens and browns to match the scenery around her. Soft leather boots protect her feet and legs from thorns and brambles while she travels, but Phoebe isn’t one for accessories otherwise.
http://th07.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/f/2010/252/a/d/ranger_by_k_atrina-d2ye50h.jpg
Location: Currently in Lorana, born in Corus
Class/Weapon: Ranger. Short bow, arrows, light sword, a couple daggers stashed here and there.
Personality: An absolute tom boy, Phoebe has always enjoyed physical activities such as horseback riding, running, climbing, archery, sword fighting, sex… you name it. However, with such a focus on the physical body, Phoebe has little understanding of the elemental or magical world, so she tends to be distrustful of it. Otherwise, she is friendly, outspoken, and a bit brash.
History: Phoebe’s parents were wandering merchants, so although she was born in Corus, the girl had a taste of many people and places even as a child. A life on the road or the open sea was all she ever knew, and she treasured the experiences and opportunities that life tossed her way. When her parents decided to settle down and retire, she refused to be caged in a house, behind the same four walls like they were. And while travel appealed to her, buying and selling wares was a bit boring. Who wanted to keep track of money anyway? There was nothing of value she wanted to hang onto.
So the girl struck out as a ranger at the age of fifteen, picking up odd jobs and quests here and there. A guide for aristocrats through the woods one day, a fighter of wild wolves that were plaguing a small farm another, and still another of just relaxing in a tavern and sharing stories with a handsome gypsy who she would never see again after a rambunctious night. It was a life the promised nothing of the future besides another adventure, and Phoebe relished every second of it.
Would it be ok if my character was an angel or a half-angel?
CALYPSO
I'm gonna have to say no on that one mainly because angels/half-angels are more of a heavenly supernatural race. That goes for demons/half-demons as well. I rather much prefer to have races that exist on the world already.
Well I tried to resist, but I seem to have given in to the temptation of making my character a priestess. I'm considering creating a side character, but I don't know how he'd be of help in the occasional quest. If that's ok, of course.
I honestly don't understand how a fairy/human hybrid could work seeing as how fairies are so tiny. Also, I received a PM from a member asking me if they can play a hybrid and I had to reject that idea. So it's only fair that I have to reject this idea as well. Sorry ^^;
Name: Verlous Vastion
Age: 26
Appearance:
He stands at 6' 2"
http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs45/f/2009/080/0/8/Dark_Elf_male_by_kerembeyit.jpg
Location: Gallagona Desert
Class/Weapon: Assassin
He carries various blades. One for Actual combat (http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ajwz1FVsQSE/TPFcM2m9JdI/AAAAAAAAC1E/X9yfXjiRCbs/s1600/Assassins+Creed+Assassin+Fighting+Knife+Replica.jp g)
One for a "ritual" in which he carves his mark on his target's corpse (http://www.sword-dagger-knife.com/asc--assassin_blades/dk1242.jpg)
He keeps a pair of curved blades (http://img100.imageshack.us/i/ulak11.jpg/) that he uses while he is relying on stealth.
And he carries at least four small two inch long simple knives he uses in his insignia mark
Personality: He can be best described as a con. He will make his way into a group of people if he believes they will help him reach the place or point he needs to be at to finish a contract. He makes no friendships within the groups he sets himself in, he is close enough to gain their trust, but distant enough that each one does not expect him to come to their aid, because he won't. He will leave an injured man behind without a second thought, allow a child to die in a burning building, and let a woman be taken advantage of without looking back or thinking twice. All that matters is that next run of crimson down his blade and across his flesh.
History: A young hot headed dark elf, Verlous lived in the various natural formations in the Gallagona Desert with his family and clan. He had gone through the clan's selection with the other soon to be young adult elf children. He had been placed as a gatherer. One who would wander the desert with his group bringing back any herbs that grew in the sands.
He had wanted to be one of the hunters of the clan, and in his refusal to participate in his obligations as a gatherer, he was ousted and shunned into the deserts uncaring sands.
He had made his way across the sands until he came upon the oasis kingdom within the desert. Here he took shelter and stayed. He learned of currency and how easy it was to obtain what you needed with it, so long as you had the means to obtain the currency. He took to what he had wanted to do, he hunted animals within the desert, and sold their skins and meat to the merchants for some time. He bought leather armor for protection from the predators, and two blades with which he would more easily slay the creatures, rather than doing with makeshift weapons from wood and rock.
Over time his greed for more got to him, life outside the clan had corrupted him. Killing, the bloodshed, it came so easily. More money was to be found in taking the lives of people. He joined an assassin's guild within the kingdom and they took him, trained him, killed the part of him that held back from taking the life of a person.
He became cold, calculated, manipulative. He ascended the ranks in five years to full assassin at twenty four. He has used the two years since traveling, broadening his weapons and skills. Killing comes easy to him, the rush, the thrill, the next spray of blood to caress his skin. He hunts for the next kill, he needs it, and it drives him.
It's fine. I kinda picture the desert to be extremely huge, thus prolly having a border of some sort.
But, um, yeah, as for the Elves. We're going with sometime similar to the LotR Elves. And not all dark elves are purple. Some are black and some are bluish silver.
CALYPSO
02-22-2011, 06:54 AM
Yeah, I figured we have our three types of Elves that you mentioned, instead of just one type or something.
And this also goes for magic as well. There's different types of magic: white, neutral, and black. White Magic is the healing, protective kind. Neutral does a little bit of both white and black (so they're more balanced out). Black magic is the elemental damage, soul sucking, summoning the dead, kind of magic. The kind of magic that, most of the time, is looked down upon.
I would go into more detail, but I figured I'll just put it in simpler terms to make it easier for us.
Done! I don't think that I'll creat a side character since I don't think that I have enough ideas.
Name: Luna Holmberg
Age: 19
Appearance: http://i1132.photobucket.com/albums/m576/Vampirequeen10/056.jpg?t=1298426245
Her eyes are brown and her dress is much simpler.
http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/yhst-55945181203785_2148_48067496
Luna wears white shoes and she wears a white cloak in the winter.
Location: Lamordia
Class/Weapon: Priestess. She carries a bow and several arrows with her for protection. If it wasn't missing, Luna would also have The Sword of the Holmbergs, which has been in her family for centuries. The sword's blade is made of a mixture of silver and other metals, with diamond dust added in. The hilt is gold and decorated with small rubies, emeralds, sapphires, and diamonds. The pommel of the sword contains a letter "H" that is made of amythyst. The scabbard is covered in fine black leather and has a gold letter "H" on each side.
Personality: Luna is a kind and gentle individual who at first glance appears to be the perfect priestess. She is very loyal and devoted to her gods and those who she knows and trusts. She is also very intelligent. Despite her pure appearance and her vow of chastity, Luna is a slightly flirtatious elf. She is also somewhat adventurous and she is determined to find her family's sword.
History: Luna Holmberg was born in Lamordia to a slightly wealthy family of elves. When she was 16 years old, her family's age-old, jewel-encrusted sword, known as The Sword of the Holmbergs, was stolen and the thief was never caught. Luna's father, whose family owned the sword for generations, tried to find it, but failed and died of shame a few days after he returned home. Before he died, a mysterious woman told him that his daughter could find the family's sword. He told his wife, but he died before he could tell Luna.
When Luna was 17, she chose to become a priestess, which broke the hearts of one or two men in her hometown. When she was 18, her mother died of a disease, but not before telling Luna about the sword and the woman's prediction. When she heard these words, Luna decided to go and look for the sword, since she saw it as a great adventure.
Question: is my character's magical growth entirely in my hands? I kind of wish to make the quests more meaningful for Marilyn in that she will acquire more spells as the party blunders through mission after mission. Is the pace entirely up to me or will there ever be instances where she will receive cues that she has "leveled up" or that she comes across a scroll or a spellbook to add to her repertoire?
I want to treat spells (as far as Marilyn is concerned) as being a bit more material things than simply saying a few words and stating that "she has the power".
Vancian magic is troublesome, however I thought I would give it a shot to make things more interesting.
AngelicAsylum
02-24-2011, 02:25 AM
Hi there! Necella is making me answer all magic-related questions because "YOU'RE BETTER AT THAT STUFF THAN I AM!!111one"
The way I see it is, spells will have components - things like fur, feathers, whatever you can think of, that you can pick up along the way. And since the language of magic is different from what everyone speaks, I'd imagine as you go along and study, you'd understand more and more of that language (like in your books) and that would open up more spells to you. So YOU would control how far you advance, but that would be the system behind it. I hope that helps!
sneakyonfoota
02-24-2011, 02:37 AM
So Vancian magic is a given, then; all right. But if I am to portray an apprentice mage, it still feels empty if I have to shoe-horn in that, "Oh, Marilyn also found a scroll of Wind Walk, so she knows it now, gaiz." I would find it more acceptable for her to spontaneously learn spells if she were say a sorcerer, but that is not the path I wished to take.
I suppose what I wish is reassurance that there is indeed causality in effect as opposed to imposing my own character growth by ear.
AngelicAsylum
02-24-2011, 02:42 AM
Okay so... you want to know if shit will pop up in the RP like scrolls, books, things like that? I don't see why not. My character is a mage too and while she can only use dark magic, it would still be helpful to both of us.
sneakyonfoota
02-24-2011, 02:49 AM
More or less. For clarity's sake, let's call them "opportunities".
I feel like I've been brushing elbows with Sues too often to have to consider bringing ideas up like narrative allowance for skill growth--especially in something as codified as magic is in this case. Even a local master to serve as a one-time mentor/tutor or for Marilyn the opportunity to obtain knowledge from the other PCs.
I'm really trying to make sure she'll be a credible young magic user without having to play a Mary Sue card to keep her on the level with the rest, but not so gimped that she's useless.
AngelicAsylum
02-24-2011, 02:56 AM
I don't think you have to worry too much about the Sue card, given that you seem to have a good grasp on character development and realism. If you feel the need to advance your character on your own every now and then it would be just fine, especially after difficult battles or obstacles. But I'm sure that there will also be opportunities to improve for ALL the PCs, yours included.
Not to mention, my character was an advanced student before she was framed, so your character can always interact with her if she's not automatically put off by her alignment. =P
CALYPSO
02-25-2011, 01:59 AM
All right, the IC is up and this is how things are going to play out in the beginning.
The first section, "Prologue," is going to be our introductions. So you write your characters introduction. You can write how they entered Lorana or how they're already there. Regardless, almost everyone needs to be at the Kings Bulletin to meet up and embark on the journey.
When that is said and done, Angelic Asylum will begin the first chapter which will be the start of our first quest.
So it goes like this:
I. Prologue/Introductions:
The characters are introduced and gather around the Kings Bulletin. The characters then finally leave Lorana to go on their journey.
II. Chapter One:
Angelic Asylum begins the opening chapter with her NPC character: Mordra Sayd. We are near or are in Silvershadow Woods to find the witch.
Is that clear? Let me know if there are any questions!
Name: La'Veeorae Canstessa
Age: 25
Appearance: http://www.freewebs.com/minastelamrun/Elf%20Lord%20of%20Mirkwood.jpg
Location: Perrenon
Class/Weapon: Elf Noble/Long Range/Warrior- He has a Yew Longbow, and two short elvensteel swords.
Personality: Veo is a mix of calm and aloof. He keeps himself distant from others, and sees himself with slightly rose coloured eyes due to his birth. This leads to a tad of overconfidence in his own abilities. In conjunction, he tends to charge in to things, so to speak. He still makes considered decisions, but they are coloured by his personal opinion, and not always common sense. One weakness he has is that he cannot restrain himself when it comes to wine. He will seek and persue it to the ends of the earth. Its hard to get an elf truelly drunk, but somehow, Veo suceeds.
History: Veo started life as most of his family line, on the run. For quite some time Veo’s family had been in exile from their homeland, and were constantly persued. As one would imagine, a sudden birth slowed them down considerable. In fact, they were crossing a particularly hard chain of mountains when Veo’s mother went into contractions. It was a hard birth, and Veo’s mother nearly died twice. In the end, she gave birth to Veo, and succumbed to her wearniness a moment afterwards. Leaving his wife’s body in the gorge cave they were hiding in, Veo’s father fled into the night with a tiny bloody bundle in his arms.
Over the next few years, Veo grew up, always running. It was never quite clear to him what he and his father were running from until one fateful evening. Upon making camp, Veo wandered over to a bush to relieve himself. He was much surprised when a rabid humanoid animal leapt from the bushes. The thing was met in the face by an arrow, thanks to Veo’s father. More of the creatures roared out of the bushes, and a vicious struggle ensued. In the aftermath, Veo killed his first sentient being, striking the last surviving beast through the back of its head with a broken pole.
Veo turned to where he thought his father would be, smiling, and saw a gorey mess. Veo’s father was split in two at the waist. Veo rushed over, and listened to his father speak his final words. “You must… look in my chest La’Veeorae Canstessa. What is contained inside is of great importance to your future, and the future of our family line.”
With those words, the old elf expired.
With tears running down his face, Veo went over and did as his father said. The chest contained five things: A bow, Two swords, a bundle of arrows, and a note. The note detailed a betrail of long ago. Veo’s family had used to rule a small lordship in the Perrenon Forest. Veo’s great grandfather’s brother had betrayed him and had him exiled in an intracite plot. The evil brother then took control of the lordship, and sent elven worgen after Veo’s great grandfather. They had been running ever since.
In a long journey, Veo gathered some companions, and returned to the Lordship. He found nothing but a small stone keep in a clearing. Everyone else was long gone. Taking possession of the keep, Veo began setting about remaking the lordship annew. His companions were his first followers. Over time, the Lorship regrew, becoming prosperous. Now Veo sets out in order to find adventure again, and bring glory for his people. One freind accompanies him, his best friend Verden the Dwarf.
Amazing post!!
I'm thinking about my character's personal quest (finding her family's sword) and I can't decide if she should find the sword in one piece or if she should find the sword without some of the gems, in which case she will find the missing gems later on, or vice versa. I know that the sword isn't important to anyone else, but I don't want to forget about it or have her find it in one piece. Hmm...
Oh Mosie, you evil evil bastard ^_^ Can't wait til I see the other posts. This is gonna get good!
So here's a poll for everyone:
As you are aware, the RPA staff has added a new category called world building. I find this feature to be incredibly exciting and I'm really eager to see the worlds out there. But here's my question:
Do you, as the players, see Athamar in that category? I've been thinking about it, but I want other opinions first. Athamar is an already built world set with different stories, sidequests, and races. If Athamar is placed in the World category, this will open doors for expansion and more players can join; they don't even need to be part of our "party."
Of course, I'm just thinking ahead of myself, which is why I'm asking. Or is Athamar best where it is now?
I think it just depends on how you want the rp itself to be. I think it has the potential to become a "world," or it can be just as fun to do as a single rp. You're the gm, girlie! You can make it whatever you want and I'm sure it'll be brilliant.
Mosaic
03-22-2011, 05:28 PM
what I might suggest is keeping it as it is now. Develop an underlying plot chain of quests that will have a Larger impact on the world of Athamar itself throughout this RP, and we're talking long term effects. And as this plot develops this RP in essence could become a whole prologue to a world RP if that is what you so desire later in the future, to RP the different locations of Athamar and how the events of this RP have impacted those areas, even to show how each locations is possibly preparing for war because of the events that take place.
Just an idea, though this itself could still be played out in a simpler set up. That idea set as a world RP would allow help simplify looking at every location at once, given that separate people are helping to move it along so you are not the only one having to look over every "city" (IC)
Thank you all for your input! I'm surprised that you enjoy the simplicity of Athamar; I always thought it lacked detail and other potential information about the world. Thus, looking like crap. So I'm glad I got to hear your voices on the matter ^_^
Maybe things will change once Athamar advances into something more.
In other news, it looks like we're waiting for Wattz and sneakyonfoota to get their posts up. I know AngelicAsylum is waiting before she posts again (since she opened the chapter). >:3
I'll try to get a post up after my shower. If there weren't rules against controlling another person's character, I would so have Luna try to perform an exorcism on Isora. That was honestly the first thing that popped into my head when I read Angelic's post. Showers are good for thinking, so I'll figure out what I'll type while I'm taking mine.
AngelicAsylum
03-24-2011, 02:54 AM
LOL Kiall, the funniest part about all this is that Isora would rather be spending her time, I dunno, helping elderly cross roads and taking care of children and animals and all that other hippie shit. XD
Exorcise away, S! Mordra would probably just leave her body once she was done warning them anyway, but since Kiall decided to be a mean-pants, who knows what the bitch will do.
AngelicAsylum
I believe Necella's character, while strong and brave in most situations, has no experience with magic or things of that sort and has a bit of a phobia for people being possessed. This is all new and strange to her. =P
AngelicAsylum
04-10-2011, 12:02 AM
Sneaky - does your character get exhausted after casting too many spells? And does she forget them once they're cast? Just wondering the set up for your mage character so mine matches up.
sneakyonfoota
04-10-2011, 12:05 AM
She loses magic slots with each casting (except for simple spells like "light", though they still cost her materials. She'll only forget after she's exhausted the amount of that particular spell she has prepared... which probably means I should reference that now.
Her Floating Disk is her first "real" magic spell, so I think I'll have the casting take its toll as the journey continues. If I follow the scene up I'll make note to reference that she does experience some fatigue after casting (it seems a bit premature to do it right this moment).
EDIT: I'll resolve her fatigue/forgetfulness the next time I post.
AngelicAsylum
04-10-2011, 12:09 AM
Nice. Isora isn't one to cast many spells because she dislikes the type of magic she uses, but when the time comes I'll be sure to mention that the more severe spells cause fatigue and what not.
Also, just a note for everyone, while Necella is getting banged in Myrtle Beach this weekend (heehee XD) , I've been given the liberty to post as her character if the need arises. So if there's a whole lot of posting done by tomorrow then I'll probably make a duel post with both characters.
What if the thought crosses her mind that Mordra might possess (or at least control) everybody? Turn everyone against Ialia? That'd make for some drama. But these aren't my characters.
AngelicAsylum
04-12-2011, 05:31 AM
To prevent god modding, Mordra's spell only works with other magic users. She chose Isora because she's an adult in good health and is weak to dark magic as it is. Sneaky's character is too young and she'd probably die before Mordra got the chance to give any of them her message and get a good look at them. =P And the priestess and unicorn are just too pure hearted for it to work.
CALYPSO
04-17-2011, 03:59 AM
Jason just doesn't like Ialia, it's fairly obvious XD But I have to say that - no she is not welcoming Verlous with open arms. I stated in there that she's pretty wary of him and she doesn't trust him at all. It's very IC of Ialia to not attack senselessly. Remember, she's a knight following a chivalric code--it would be against her nature to just accuse and attack.
If there is any evidence about Verlous, then that is an entire different story XD And chapter ;)
And FYI, she's not afraid of magic--she's afraid of possession =P
Kiall
04-17-2011, 04:11 AM
funnily enough Jason actually does like Ialia, he loves proud dominating women (it reminds him of home) it's just his confidence in her's been broken what with not living up to his unfairly high expectations. and I was just joshing you about the whole welcoming him back thing I know she's go a code. It's like a great man once said: evil will always triumph over good, because good is dumb.
and I know it's not magic, but Jason doesn't know/care
CALYPSO
I agree with you people. W's character is awesome!
I'm thinking of having Luna wake up after everyone else posts. That's not going to interfere with any secret plotlines, is it? I also need to figure out how many jewels are in the hilt of Luna's family's sword so I can decide how many of them I'll have her find. I had a vague idea a while ago, but I seem to have forgotten. If only I could draw swords...
CALYPSO
04-22-2011, 11:53 PM
Also Ace, I would spot the reference if I ever saw the move D:
Ace of Hearts™
Nymph, I have and idea for your family jewels. Maybe, instead of thinking about how many jewels there are, you should think about what kind they are. Rubys, Emeralds, Sapphires?
Of course, this is your quest, I have no say. But, I just thought it might help.
Vampirequeen
04-23-2011, 12:33 AM
Actually Ace, I already know what kind of gems there are, I just don't know how many of them there are going to be.
All I have figured out is that there will be the same number of each gem. I think my idea had involved having two of each gem.
CALYPSO
04-23-2011, 12:50 AM
I think you have some time in figuring it out. You can find like one or two of the jewels after Mordra's destroyed, but after that Luna won't be able to find them for awhile.
I would like to get two other main quests done first. Two humorous ones actually; one will even bring a new character to the group! Right Angelic? ;)
Then after that, we can do some personal quests and exploring.
If you any of you have any other ideas for a main quest, state it here or shoot me a PM!
Ace of Hearts™
Kiall
04-23-2011, 12:57 AM
nymph here's a thought for the gem problem, what if the gems formed a symbol? like a family crest, then you can draw it out and gauge how many gems it takes
Vampirequeen
04-23-2011, 01:14 AM
That could work, but I've already planned on having a large amythyst "H" set into either side of the end of the hilt (I forget what it's called). Thanks for the suggestions. I'll see if I can find something online that tells how to draw a picture of a sword. I just need to see if there is any blank white paper that is not in my computer room, since I don't want to disturb my dad.
CALYPSO
04-23-2011, 01:14 AM
Ace of Hearts™
CALYPSO
04-23-2011, 01:20 AM
I say include your new character when we head back to the castle. So that's after the first quest. It wouldn't make sense of him to just suddenly appear in the group lol.
Ace of Hearts™
04-23-2011, 01:21 AM
I can't wait to see what happens next!
I should have a sketch of the sword up soon. I took the basic shape of the sword from a tutorial of how to draw Excalibur. The placement of the "gems" is entirely my idea. Of course, I may need some time to figure out what order they'll go in, but I'm reaching a solution for the dilemma. If it's ok, I'll take a picture of the finished product.
Edit: Finished the design of the hilt. It''s absolutely beautiful!
so Ness, or I suppose it's Luthien now. I have three options on where my character can head
A) Back to the party to help with the spiders (yawn!)
B ) I can end up outside Mordra's tower somehow
C) I can disappear for awhile and come back when Verlous seperates the group, to act as some sort of character saving plot device
it's up to you, if you got a good suggestion let me know i'm open
CALYPSO
04-26-2011, 12:35 AM
I do like the second option, but I do suggest running back to the group to notify that you found the tower. Being in front of Mordra's tower that's surrounded with lesser demons and deadly creatures is dangerous and suicidal XD
Of course it's not gonna be easy getting to the tower as a group though. You can mention that you came across the tower, but with the forest moving and what not--it will be difficult following a path.
Danke, Kiall.
To keep myself honest, here are Marilyn's spells.
• Light
• Arcane Mark
• Magic Missile
• Floating Disk
• Scorching Ray
• Fireball
• Black Tentacles
I forgot to reference any side effects of her casting Floating Disk in my last post--but in hindsight I think the moment for it had already passed by the time I had replied.
I'll be going back and crossing out spells as they are consumed and then post up a new list once the party has had a time to rest.
She would probably feel winded, dizziness and outright loss of consciousness with the respective castings of the last three spells.
Alright, here's my list. I figure since she's a bit more experienced she'd have one or two more spells. They're mainly battle type and on the more mean/evil side of things thanks to her alignment but I'm not gonna be too anal retentive about the D&D casting guidelines for my own sanity.
Web
Silence
Blind
These three can be cast with little side effects, other than some fatigue or a light headache.
Lightning Bolt
Levitate
Fireball
Darkness
These result in feeling lightheaded and dizzy and Isora would need a moment or two before casting right away. The longer she holds her "Levitate" spell, the worse she feels.
Blasphemy
Burning Hands
Strangle
These would result in the loss of consciousness, especially in the case of Burning Hands and Strangle, where her health would decrease dramatically the longer she holds the spell.
CALYPSO
I don't mean to sound rude or something, but I just felt like I should remind everyone that Luna doesn't know any actual magic, as I had created her after I noticed that Lúthien had said in one of the first OOC posts that she didn't want a lot of magic users. The only reason why I had Luna perform the exorcism was because I felt like it would be the perfect thing for a religious being like her to do. Sorry for any confusion!
Also, I may post later today, but I have a class soon and then I have to work on a poem for a class that I have tonight, so it will probably be up sometime this evening.
CALYPSO
05-07-2011, 02:19 AM
Then explain to me, what does your character do as a priestess? While some of them perform exorcisms most of the time they know healing spells and other spells that aids the party members.
My concern was having too many mages that are offense, so I really don't mind you playing as a priestess who knows spells that aids the team.
Vampirequeen
05-07-2011, 02:42 AM
Hmm... I must have had a slight mental lapse at some point in there. I'd give Luna the ability to heal people, but I don't want to make such drastic changes to her character at such a late point in the RP. Maybe I could have her know a few minor healing abilities that aren't as strong as the healing powers that Auki's character has.
Also, I think I brought my sketch of the sword up to college with me, so I may locate it, take a few pictures of it, then eventually put the pictures up.
CALYPSO
05-07-2011, 03:19 AM
CALYPSO
05-10-2011, 08:29 PM
Absolutely! I see no issue with that ^_^ Should be a fun personal quest once we start doing those!
I'll wait for more posts until I let us move on. Kiall, do you have any plans for your character? Do you want the group to encounter him or vice versa?
Kiall
05-10-2011, 09:38 PM
that's a good question Luth, I mean I don't want to just pop back in the group now +1 feral hellbeast, I mean as funny as it would be to brag about my animal magnetism and make fun of you all for not having your own creature to ride on i'd like to do something a little bit more important plot wise.
the way I see it there are two things I can do at this point, I can either head towards the tower and find something important about mordra and her plans for us. or I can hold back on posting and wait for some plot related trouble comes up with the group (not sure what you have planned in that department, i'm still assuming Verlous is planning on doing some... traitory things) and pop in to help like some sort of deus ex asshole on a hellbeast, which would mesh better with what you have in mind for the quest? or do you have some other ideas?
CALYPSO
05-10-2011, 10:36 PM
Hm, well I do have some ideas in mind. Since this is the fairy realm, I have to include fairies and the king in there somewhere for plot sake XD The thing with Mordra's tower though, it's a dangerous place to encounter on your own. There's lesser demons and creatures there that can easily kick your ass; not to mention, the forest keeps moving so it will be a little difficult to even find the tower that easily. I say it's a 50/50 chance of finding the tower.
I suppose when we encounter the Fairy King (which will be quite soon), that's when we finally find you? And then your char can explain that he saw the tower briefly before the forest moved again and the entrance is a dangerous place to get through.
I'll keep thinking of ideas here.
Also, I regret to say this but, our dear Anne Bonny will be dropping out of Athamar. Her char will be with us for this chapter, up to the point when we battle Mordra.
Definitely like the forest, but granted, it was green and vibrant. I say it kinda looks like the front cover of the first chapter.
Whoa, there. Been distracted with life and designing. Hopefully this week I can actually sit down and post here along with my other RPs X_X
Wow, so my life was pretty hectic within that week and for that I sincerely apologize. While I was trying to get some freelancing work done, a company calls me about an internship and wanted me to design them a poster as a test. That pretty much took up my entire time for the weekend (along with personal issues). Then I was doing car shopping with my family and ugh!
Anyway, this RP is gonna start moving again. I am SO SORRY! @_@
Is everyone still active here? Please let me know!
AWWWWW YEEEEAAAH, SON http://a.deviantart.net/avatars/y/e/yeahplz.gif
I feel accomplished, catching up to things XDDD. This is my attempt at adding more to the desert half-giant culture with folk tales, which I love. I thought it'd be kind of funny to have her be afraid of the fairies, so hopefully I'll be figuring that one out soon, too. Maybe Ualan thinks they're devils or... something.... XD
Introducing a new bad guy, Arnac! Who was in cahoots with Mordra, and shall be seen in a coming quest or quest chain later in the story!
Name: Arnac. True name lost to time.
Age: 543.
Appearance: http://fc01.deviantart.net/fs25/f/2008/158/d/9/D_D4th__Lich_by_UdonCrew.jpg
Before Arnac turned himself, he was a tall and handsome. His flowing blonde hair was always tied into a knot, and his golden skin shined brilliantly in the summer sun.
Location: The Talking Marshes, in a large adopted Elven Ruin.
Class/Weapon: Powerful, even for a lich. Transmuted his physical energy into pure and raw magical fortitude. As powerful as his ally Mordra, though his hubris claims he is stronger. Specializes in Necromancy (littered the ruin with 'servants') and elemental forces, notably Ice and Electricity. Also used telekinesis for more mundane tasks. As he sacrificed all his potential physical energy for magical power, he is very weak of the body, having never left the ruin. Such the reason for telekinesis, as well.
Personality: Power hungry and paranoid that somebody knows where he's taken refuge, he rarely tries any advance on the outside world. Even Mordra has the first human contact in 300 years. He has many plan, though nothing is set in stone. He's short in temper and won't hesitate to destroy one of his servants if they make even the smallest of mistakes. Usually ripping their flesh off the bones with his magic. He is cold and calculating, taking into account his weakness in all of his plans, he makes sure to overly think every plan for every fault.
History: (to be shown in IC flashbacks.)
Luthien says she apologizes for the wait, she's writing the post and has probably about half or more of it done already. I've looked over it myself and its coming along well, she should have it ready sometime tomorrow or within the weekend. For real this time!
We'll get this thing moving again in no time!
I too have things to add! though not a character, but a country! it's my characters homeland!
it's something I cooked up because i'm neurotic like that, it's not by any means all inclusive there's some stuff i'm planning on detailing later on the off chance we ever go there
Salaplun part of the territory of Cindlin
Climate
Most of Cindlin is subarctic it has very sever winters with temperatures reaching as low as -68 Celsius. The only notable seasons are winter and summer, fall and spring are just brief periods of change between high and low temperatures. Farming has to be done quickly because of the small growing season and food has to be hoarded for the winter.
Government
Cindlin has no one uniting form of government, territory is divided into section with landlords ruling over a particular area with autonomy. These landlords are called Cvars
Culture
Cindlin has long been a place in isolation from the rest of the world, they have a deep sense of community which is bred into every child at a young age, any achievement is measure by how it benefits the whole, be it proficiency with smithing to farming. Cindlin worship totemic animal spirits with little knowledge of outside religion. Cindlin is strangely progressive when it comes to working in that both genders can enter any job available to them, There is so much work to do before the winter season that every available hand is needed so it’s not uncommon to see women working right along the men, because of this the women of Cindlin tend to be quite a bit more ‘burly’ than the rest of the world. A staple in Cindlin is it’s soup which can either be served hot or cold, the most common being Schi a cabbage based soup and Ukha a fish based one, there is little ale or wine to be found in Cindlin instead the main alcoholic drink is Medovukha a type of mead.
Many of the various magical races found in other parts of the world are unknown to Cindlin, elves and dwarves have never been known to come this far north and unicorns have long been extinct here, The only known race outside human to inhabit Cindlin are the Goblins, whom the people of Cindlin have coexisted with for many years finding common ground in their shared worship of Gramthar and the other animal spirits, the goblin tribes live nomadic lives rarely interacting with the humans though they have been known to trade with them on occasion.
Current Events
Cindlin has taken to trading its furs which have long been valued by the nobility for their warmth and softness with many far off lands including Lorana. Cindlin believes this to be a great opportunity to improve their way of life by becoming more modern and civilized, many Cvars have taken to decorating their houses and dressing in the styles of Lorana nobility, Salaplun long a backwater even by Cindlin standards has suddenly become an important part of the trading business thanks to its proximity to the coast, Salaplun has grown rapidly the Cvar Frederick Barinova has been offering invitations to various diplomats in hopes of bringing even more business, his territory he boasts has all of two people that can speak the language, one is a man who has had dealings with the Ice Queen and the other is his own daughter.
Lore
Song of Latiaia and Marentharin
As told by Lorekeeper Raziel
Long ago before the first winter touched these lands the people of Cindlin were mighty and prosperous sheltered within the great walls of our city Latiaia. It was a place of magic and peace where songs detailing our people’s greatness echoed eternally throughout its walls. The great Ice Mountain Marentharin saw our beautiful city and its people and grew jealous. How dare the city outshine his own majesty and so with a great roar Marentharin unleashed a terrible ice storm upon us, almost overnight our home fell into ruin the crops withered and died, walls crumbled and buildings collapsed under the constant battering of the winter winds, driven near mad by the constant howling our people fled, most dying of exposure. For days we wandered aimless dying of hunger or of the freezing wind, so sheltered where we within our magnificent city that we had lost all knowledge on how to survive. We surely would have died had not Gramthar the Great Bear come to our aid, he showed us the wisdom of his kind, how to find shelter against the winds to use the caves and caverns to outlast the storms in the womb of the earth. Other great spirits came to share their wisdom, how to hunt in groups, to share our resources, and how to build tools. We began to master our surroundings we built sturdy houses of stone able to withstand any wind, we used the hides of great beasts to warm our bodies against Marentharin’s chill, and though we spread out as our numbers grew the bonds we had forged were unbreakable. In the end we survived and we remember, and one day with the wisdom of the spirits and our ancestors we will return to our home. Cindallar vas Gras Buellar yondalen, The people of the Great Bear will it!
And oh my GOD! I finally posted everyone! And great heavens it's long. I am so sorry about that. *stare* I'm so hypocritical...
I also posted another link to a song in there :XD: Does anyone get annoyed by that? Should I stop doing it?
EDIT:
Feel free to write how your character reacted to everything he/she heard and seen. Things are gonna start getting interesting here real soon.
just to clarify we're right outside the tower we're not actually in it yet correct? cause i've been planning on having Jason give a little plan of his own about how to deal with Mordra (spoiler it involves trickery and guile and not setting a cubic foot within the tower)
CALYPSO
07-02-2011, 07:40 AM
Oh yeah, we're on our way to the tower now! But, hmmm, expect there to be some difficulties. After all, the path is on a time limit. ;)
I plan to mention that we reach the entrance of the tower though, but before we even enter inside, we're gonna be fighting lots of baddies (which is a given). After that, you can run on your idea!
And this goes for everyone else as well! If you have any ideas of your own, use them! :D
