SETTING: A war-torn wasteland with various blood-covered weapons sticking out of the ground. There is a sheet of gray covering the sky, with the sun barely visible.
Superpowers are allowed.
Instant-kills are not.
This will be a fight until one of us cannot do anything.
This does not mean death.

-----------------------------------------

Soulless sighed lightly as he walked the battlefield. Where was he now? Had his previous fight not been enough? Perhaps this was not such a good idea to participate in this world after all. Maybe he would've been better if he had just found a place to stay for the rest of eternity, until the wind washed all memory of his past away and he came back out as new and fresh as a newborn babe.

But then again, that wouldn't be his style.

With a slightly unstable grin, the boy spun around on one foot, his arms outstretched and his long sleeves trailing around him. His head was tilted up, a single silver eye staring up at the cloudy, miserable sky with all the joy as if it was a clear blue. Inside, his other side tensed, not liking this place. Too many weapons. Too many places to get hurt. Too much blood.

Soulless looked around for his opponent, curious as to who would be in such a wasteland of past deaths and victories.

Lord Xarel

Lord Xarel looked around the wasteland with curiosity. He had fought a war here two months ago. The field was clear, no innocents nearby... It was the perfect battlefield. Xarel and his army had defeated a small tribe that tried to seize the Lord's castle so they could get closer to the capital.

To say the least, Lord Xarel and his men slaughtered the tribe in a few hours...

Now that this place was a wasteland, Lord Xarel had no reason to be here, except scouting for weapons. He had found Dragon's Fang here, so there would be a sure bet that Lord Xarel would find another great weapon. There were several weapons here that looked neat, but the blood on them had rusted the metal. Nothing interesting. They could still be used though, so Lord Xarel made a mental note to send his men here when he got back to his castle.

"Time to head back," said Lord Xarel in his baritone voice as his black robes and red cape dragged through the grass and dirt. However, something caught Xarel's attention... A boy.

The boy was spinning in place, the sleeves of his shirt trailing around him. His style of clothing was unknown to Lord Xarel, but nonetheless, the kid had Lord Xarel's attention just for being here in this desolate place.

"Young man, you should head home. One such as yourself shouldn't be near here," said Lord Xarel worriedly as he walked to the boy, noticing a silver eye and an eyepatch over the other. The boy appeared he had been living in the wild for most of his life, and his appearance took Lord Xarel aback.

"Are you okay?"

The child paused as a voice spoke to him. A male voice. Memories flowed, many men. Strong in battle, stronger in heart, yet no amount of strength could keep away from time's ravage upon them all. Only he was spared, rejected from even the thing that took all his loved ones away from him. He opened his silver eye after turning to face the stranger, for a moment he saw many people standing there. A man dressed in crimson, and another man with pearly feathered wings. These figures blurred into the past, and revealed a man in armor gazing upon him as if alien.

"Young man, you should head home."

Soulless barked in short, strangely unnerving laughter that seemed far to broken and unhappy to even call it a laugh. His grin held nothing but sadness. "Don't have a home." He stated plainly to the stranger, his arms did not lower from its spread position, resembling a well-worn cross. Eventually the two limbs lowered to his sides, sleeves trailing the ground by his feet. He walked forward, his left hand jerking outwards to grip a passing blade that slashed into his hand.

His grin never once faltered.

"Ok, ok." Soulless reassured the stranger, walking towards him leisurely even as the blade sliced his fingers cleanly. They were not severed, but the gash was deep enough to begin staining his grimy sleeve with a fresh coat of crimson. "Name Soulless. What's your name?" His questions were nonchalant. Eventually he stopped right in front of the man, looking up and smiling eeriely. He leaned in and gave the stranger a hug around his torso, showing no malice and yet a disquieting, broken joy.

Lord Xarel

Lord Xarel was left speechless by what he saw. This boy... was not normal. No, this boy needed help. More help Lord Xarel could give. At first, the laughter didn't bother Lord Xarel, but when Xarel saw this boy's eye, he saw something that didn't settle with him. That was when the laughter made Lord Xarel take a step back.

However, nothing could have braced Xarel for what was next. The boy slashed his fingers on a nearby blade ON PURPOSE! Whatever doubt there was about this kid being insane had been removed by this point. When he hugged Lord Xarel though, the blood from his sleeves touching Lord Xarel's robes, Lord Xarel did the only thing he knew.

"I see. So you are Soulless..." began Lord Xarel as he kept a firm look on his face. "I am Lord Xarel of Damean. It is a pleasure to meet you."

Lord Xarel then slowly broke the hug as he took a step back. "Tell me... Would you like some help?" asked Xarel cautiously as he got on one knee, his black robes and red cape fluttering over the ground and being kept in a circle by the weapons everywhere. Whatever happened next, Lord Xarel would need to be ready. If things went well, Lord Xarel would be okay. If things didn't, Lord Xarel would need his tongue ready to shout off that ancient spell... Surely this kid was not normal physically as well?

He enjoyed this. The man was confused and Soulless could tell he had good reason to be. As far as he found there was no other like him, not with powers similar to his or one who has suffered like he has. In this strange place, he was an unexplainable object, the stranger. It should be he who tread lightly, but instead his brash difference seemed to cause others worry as well. This was not the delightful, almost chaotic land he came from, where just about anything could and did happen, where he made sense.

Enough with the past. There was a future here, there was no future there.

The child looked up at this man, Lord... Lord Xarel of Damean. He smiled at the questioning for help. Did he need help? If the man could kill him, it would be of great help. Of course, that would be requiring a battle. He was recovered well enough from his previous fights... why not? It was all that could be done in this broken land. Wherever he came from, wherever he was going to, he found that none of it mattered in battle. It was the only thing he found he could still relate to.

So Soulless pulled out his rusted, old dagger, and attempted to pierce through to this Lord Xarel's flesh and blood.

Lord Xarel

Lord Xarel barely had time to react as he jumped to the side. Things had turned to the worse, and now Lord Xarel had to make a decision. Fight? Or reason?

Lord Xarel, his mind made up, stood tall and spread his arms out wide, forming a cross. He then looked at Soulless straight on, emotions not showing, as he spoke. "You declined my help and tried to kill me, so I shall show you who you are dealing with! O phasmatis meus ancestors... Audite mihi! Tribuo mihi loricatus illis quisnam taedium illa markin pro mihi, quod may meus hostilis palpito in vereor!"

On cue, the robes on Lord Xarel began growing and hardening, growing larger at the sides and on Lord Xarel's shoulders. Then the robes tightened around his arms and legs, hardening there as well. When the robes went around his pale face, forming into the horned helmet as Lord Xarel reached behind him and unsheathed his blade, Golden Chaos. Finally, after settling into place, the robes' material became that of the best metal known to man, and more robes appeared under this armor. The red cape stayed the same, but now it added a majestic quality to Lord Xarel, the Knight of Darkness!

"You have no idea what you have gotten yourself into! I am allowing you to surrender once and once only! Please, don't make me fight a child!" shouted Lord Xarel as he kept Golden Chaos to his left side, holding it firmly and ready to strike if necessary.

Soulless barked out his piercing, disturbed laughter once again. Well, this sure was interesting. To not fight a child, hm? He looked down at his bleeding hand, wondering if there was any part of him that showed his age. Even his silver eye was bright and jovial with naivete. He shook his head. "Not as young as you think." He stated plainly, before smiling. Yes. Battle was the only thing familiar to him now, in this world of unfamiliarity.

The child flashed another grin and ran. He did not run particularly fast, nor anything special. His leap to the man was rather unremarkable, although surprisingly healthy despite his starved and sickly appearance. His rusty knife bounced off that armor once, and he rolled into the dirt behind the man. He rolled into a knife sticking out, piercing his side but not striking anything critical. Soulless got up, smiling still. Let the battle begin.

Lord Xarel watched the boy run at him, and he did nothing to stop it. The dagger bounced of of Lord Xarel's armor harmlessly. At this, Lord Xarel chuckled. The kid might be insane, but he had more guts than most of Xarel's men. However, what the kid said had Lord Xarel thinking... Not as young as he thinks?

Was this kid a demon?! It would explain the behavior and odd dress... Perhaps he was... And at this thought, Lord Xarel's excitement grew. Was this perhaps the foe he had wished for!?

"I gave you your chance... Now prepare for the consequences."

With that, Lord Xarel quickly turned around and brought Golden Chaos down, striking the ground right next to where this "boy" landed. One would see this as an accident, but it clearly wasn't. The sword was way too close for it to be an accident. One would need to have been an expert weilder of the blade to do this, and it was now clear how good Lord Xarel is with his sword. Lord Xarel brought the blade back up and held it towards the young man, the tone in his voice becoming deeper as his eyes stayed their neutral color.

"You better have more than that puny dagger boy if you wish to leave this place alive."

Soulless struggled for breath a moment as he pulled himself from the dirt. That man was still talking about chances. Life gave him so many chances he was sick of them. This life was glorious, a glorious, glorious curse. And he was tired of this blessing. He took his knife from the ground, ignoring the sword that very nearly stabbed him right through. Instead he merely gave a tired smile, one hand grabbing the sword by one edge and squeezing tightly, piercing his flesh easily. He rubbed his fingers slowly along the blade, allowing it to slice his skin.

"...So sharp..." He whispered quietly, before taking his hand from its edge and leaving only his crimson smear. "Nothing more than dagger. Always live." He spoke with a sad smile, grabbing his little blade before getting up and walking backwards, almost tripping over a fallen spear before actually tripping over another fallen weapon, finding himself on the ground again with his dagger an arm's length away. Well, this wasn't good...

Maybe he had gotten a little over confident of the years. This game meant that all parties were equal, after all. He shouldn't take his playmate so lightly. The child grinned again, regaining some of his disquieting joy as he moved to get up, ignoring the gash in his side and how the dirt rubbed into his raw wounds.

Watching Soulless drag his hand and fingers along Golden Chaos brought a look of shock on Lord Xarel's face, who was thankful his opponent couldn't see his face. This... this thing was without a doubt a demon! No human would do such a thing!

At least, no human Lord Xarel would know. Plus, Lord Xarel wasn't sure if this kid was a demon. Was he perhaps a boy who had a very harsh life? Lord Xarel didn't know.

Lord Xarel, snapping into reality, saw the situation before him. Soulless was on the ground, having tripped over a fallen weapon. This was Lord Xarel's chance!

Lord Xarel, his eyes becoming a dull silver, put Golden Chaos away and took out his glorious spear, Dragon's Fang, needing its range to strike Soulless where he was.

Crunch... Crunch... Sounds of weapons cracking under Lord Xarel's weight as he took those two steps needed to get close enough. "I'm sorry," was all Lord Xarel said as he lunged the spear forward, hoping that his ancestors could forgive him...

Soulless looked up at this man, his smile unrelenting. He briefly heard the crunching somewhere behind him, and darted to the left as the spear buried itself where he was. The spearpoint stabbed the ground easily, with one of his sleeves trapped between blade and dirt. He frowned lightly, tugging the cloth to try and escape, but the tough cloth refused to give.

The child didn't seem particularly alarmed by this lack of freedom. As far as he was concerned it was a relatively minor inconvenience. Instead he sat down and picked up his rusted dagger, drawing the ground with memories of a distant land. There was a red man with skin the color of earth, and a long cape more crimson than fresh blood. He looked up at this armored stranger. "More games?" He asked patiently, facial expression mirroring his excitement to begin their game again.

Lord Xarel
02-20-2011, 03:24 AM
"Sure... More games," Xarel said as he left Dragon's Fang where it was and unsheathed Golden Chaos, believing the match was now his.

"I'm gonna win this silly game you're playing demon."

Just as quickly as Golden Chaos came out, Lord Xarel started bringing his sword down towards Soulless. He was getting tired of this. At this rate, he was gonna beat this demon boy and go on... But the mere thought of killing a child, no matter how insane, made Lord Xarel pause. Could he poissibly do this? Could he do this and forgive himself for it? What would his ancestors think? What would his family think if they found out?

"Do it..." said something in Lord Xarel's head. Lord Xarel knew what this something was. It was what made the Knight of Darkness so feared... His rage.

"I can't... I can't kill a child," said Lord Xarel out loud, his eyes, though hidden, turning dull silver as sadness swept him. He felt sorry for Soulless... He really did.

"Yes you can. Just let me take over!" shouted the voice in Lord Xarel's head as Xarel's head began shaking, trying to stay in balance with his emotions.

"GOD DAMN IT! I SAID NO!" shouted Lord Xarel as his eyes suddenly turned that familiar dark shade of grey, but still hidden from anyone except himself.

Soulless's eye suddenly widened as the man started to speak to himself. He understood immediately what was happening and stood, and took the sword in one hand, not caring as it stabbed into his hand. He smiled. "No demon." He spoke quietly. "If I'm a demon, so are you." He continued, bringing the blade down to slice his sleeve away, revealing his pale and starved arm. "We're the same." He began, before his other half began to growl and warn him that it wasn't a good idea.

He assured his guardian that it was going to be ok. He smiled lightly once more, his silver eye twinkling in a mischevious manner. "Let's play the game... I'll show you." He then leaped at the man again, attempting allowing his dagger to bounce off the stranger's armor once more.

Lord Xarel
02-20-2011, 04:13 AM
Watching Soulless once again slice himself on Golden Chaos, something snapped inside of Lord Xarel's head. Emotional balance was gone as anger tightened its grip on Xarel's mind, turning Xarel's eyes a complete black, as if they were portals to The Void itself. In fact, one would say that pure darkness was flowing out of them.

"Do you...wish to die?" said a voice unlike Lord Xarel's normal baritone voice. His voice was there, sure, but it sounded like a deeper and darker voice was speaking with him at the same time. What made it truly scary though, was the pure rage behind that dark voice. "If that is your wish..."

In a dark flash, Golden Chaos and Dragon's Fang were put away as Titanus came around from the Knight of Darkness's left thigh as Lord Xarel began swinging with all his strength. If one was watching three feet away, they would not be able to even see the glorious axe that is Titanus. They would only see silver streaks as it came by more times than could be seen.

Lord Xarel's merciful side was gone. One could even say Lord Xarel was no longer the one in the armor. The true Knight of Darkness was now in control... At least for a while.

Soulless frowned as the man's words and demeanor changed. He pulled away a moment, growling as he realized what had happened quite easily. Did he truly wish to die, though? He thought a moment, that it would be pleasant, to die. However, he doubted that the man before him could kill him. He looked down as his regeneration was already healing the initial cuts on his hands from the first time he injured himself, regenerating so that it looked like he was never cut at all.

"Think you can?" He asked playfully, waving his dagger to and fro in a manner that denied his inner anxiety as he knew he would be running headlong into battle again for no real reason. He wondered briefly if the King would've approved of this. Probably. Spontaneity was his most adored aspect. He smiled once more and raspberried at his enraged opponent. "Nah Nah! Cant kill cant kill!" He jeered and teased to encourage this game to life.

Lord Xarel
02-20-2011, 05:12 AM
"Hmm... You seem to want to visit Hell early... Very well."

That dark voice almost seemed happy to be doing this as the Knight of Darkness replaced Titanus with Golden Chaos while dashing, slowly, to Soulless, ready to kill.

"Must get in control..."

"Must get in control..."

"Must get in control..."

As the real Lord Xarel began saying that inside his head, the Knight of Darkness was getting close and was ready to draw blood. To kill... That was all that was on his mind, despite the nagging from Lord Xarel. Still though, nothing could stop this rage...

Well, two things actually, Lord Xarel himself, or Death's icy grip.

soullesshuman
02-20-2011, 05:17 AM
Soulless leaped away nimbly, making sure to stay just in range of those blades, but not close enough that he threatened a fatal wound. He also made himself an easy target, not moving much, just backwards to avoid being fatally wounded. He occasionally purposefully cut his arms on various pikes and axes and swords as he walked by them. By the time he stopped his arms were ribbons of blood and he didn't seem at all pained or weakened from his wounds.

"Hell? What's that? Fun place?" He asked, holding conversation, studying this darker side of the Lord Xarel. It was important, he was curious. It wasn't easy to relate to people. He was immortal. He felt no pain. He was so far away from most people that no one had known what he knows. And yet, this man had two personalities, strikingly similar to his own dual personas. It made him curious about this stranger, and he wanted to make friends.

Lord Xarel
02-20-2011, 05:47 AM
"Oh yes... Lots of fun," said the Knight of Darkness as he stayed in step with Soulless, while Lord Xarel tried to regain full control. He was getting close. Damn close. He just needed a little more time...

"Hmph... Such a shame I have to kill you... You remind me of me," said the Knight of Darkness as he continued attacking, not slowing down as he spoke. This had made Lord Xarel stop what he was thinking... Was he so different from this young man? Besides clothing and sanity, was he really that different?

... Lord Xarel made up his mind about this as he finally felt himself gain control of his own body. He then took his blade and shoved it into the ground as he took a knee before Soulless, letting his breath come back.

"I'm no demon... But us being the same? You might have a point," said Lord Xarel, his voice and eyes back to normal.

soullesshuman
02-20-2011, 04:55 PM
Demons? He had never heard of such a thing. Soulless looked down at his body, bleeding everywhere. There was a trail of blood where they first started, and he knew it was his own crimson water. But, all this talk about demons and whatnot, it seemed all so... adult-y. What did demons or non-demons matter? In the end they all bled red, isn't that what mattered most? Adults were such confusing creatures... He was partway glad he would never become one.

The adult even thought the game had ended before this. Didn't he know that the best way to get to know a person was through play? "...The game is still playing." He spoke happily, ignoring his extensive injuries as he patted the man's head with his revealed hand, pale and bony. How long has it been since he's seen his own hands? It didn't matter now. He then brought one hand up and switched his eyepatch. Saneless let out a loud snarl and jumped away.

Lord Xarel
02-21-2011, 05:26 AM
Lord Xarel began cursing himself as he tried to stand up, only to have his body remind him who had it a while ago. His mind was still out of balance as well as he finally got to both feet, but he knew he would need a little more rest.

However... That was the least of his worries...

He noticed it. When Soulless put his eyepatch over his other eye, he saw the new eye. He saw the anger... The hatred...

The sheer malicious glint...

At this point, Lord Xarel realized he and Soulless were more alike, enough to the point it was almost scary, but there was a difference... Soulless evidently had some control over when he changed. Lord Xarel didn't... And this form Soulless was in looked very, VERY angry...

"So, is Soulless still there, or are you someone new?" asked Xarel as he lifted Golden Chaos into a defensive postion... Even though he couldn't do anything other than get in the traditional. defensive postion, and anyone worth their weight in gold knows that it is mostly used for intimidation... Something Lord Xarel doubted would work.

soullesshuman
02-21-2011, 07:36 PM
Saneless watched the man step into a position he had not seen before. He spat to the side, a little bit of blood in his saliva. He had no time to waste. His skin was mere ribbons and blood was everywhere. If he didn't finish this battle soon he'd bleed to death. "I'm not the retarded brat that ya call Soulless, if that's what you're askin. I'm Saneless, and I'm going to fucking slaughter you. Now bring the angry bastard out or I'll slice you plain open." Of course, the brat didn't want the man killed, no, the brat wanted to make friends with this Lord Xarel. What kind of fucking title was Lord? Lord of what? This wasteland? Lord of a pile of shit was more like it.

The child lifted his arms up and with it his blood from the ground rose, swirling in the air before leaping at the man as if a lunging wolf. However, if it did strike, the force of the blood would be bruising at its most intense; Saneless was obeying his other half's wishes to leave this bastard alive.

Lord Xarel
02-21-2011, 10:04 PM
"Oh... shit..."

That attack was unexpected... Using blood for magic? That's... creepy... Almost insane... Explains why this side of Soulless was called Saneless. The change was almost exactly like Lord Xarel's change, and it was equally as impressive. Plus, it was shown that this side worked in perfect harmony with Soulless...

"So that's why he cut himself and took my sword swipes... Good strategy," thought Xarel as the lunging wolf made of blood struck him right in the chest, causing him to fall over, a feat no one has ever done. The magical energy let Xarel know quickly that this was a mistake, as he felt like a heavy mace just hit his chest and torso. This caused Lord Xarel to lose his breath temporarily... However, he quickly regained it, and stood up, albeit slowly.

"Not bad... Wasn't expecting that you were that smart," said Lord Xarel as he took off his helmet, revealing his curly blood hair and pale face... But his eyes were their natural hazel color... he was neutral. His mind was in balance, and he had full control of his body...

"So weakling, is that all you got?! I certainly hope not."

Lord Xarel had decided he would finish this his own way without using his rage. However, if Saneless did another one of those moves, Lord Xarel would have to surrender. This didn't stop Lord Xarel though. In fact, it excited him, because if his plan worked...

"WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!" shouted Lord Xarel as he threw his helmet to the side and brought Golden Chaos behind him, both hands on the handle.

soullesshuman
02-22-2011, 02:39 AM
Weakling? WEAKLING?! How dare this over-the-top armored lunkhead walk around calling him a fucking weakling?! "GO FUCK YOURSELF!" He shouted, eye wide and full of rage. He dashed forwards, his blood rising up to crash down, to break his bones, rip his organs and tear him limb from limb. Just as he dashed foward, however, his other half shouted suddenly.

"Wait! STOOOOOOP!"

The youth landed beside the man on one knee, blood splattering on them both harmlessly as he lost his concentration from sheer surprise alone. He bit his lip at his mistake. He wasn't supposed to get mad like that. He remembered that... Sighing lightly he breathed in and out, showing clearly he was trying to control himself.

"Alright you bastard... Don't fuck with me, or I'll make you wish I killed you, got that? Now, bring the angry bastard out so I can smack you around without worrying the brat watching."

Lord Xarel
02-22-2011, 03:41 AM
Lord Xarel only smiled at Saneless as he lifted Golden Chaos to the sky, eyes glowing silver... Only for the eyes to tone down by the second, only to turn that blackest of blacks... He was letting rage come over him... If that was what Saneless wanted, that was what Saneless was going to get.

"Smack me around? You sure bitch?" asked the dark voice as he suddenly brought Golden Chaos down, but then spun around, wanting to get that much for momentum behind his strength and speed as the dull flat side of the blade came around. Lord Xarel had obviously got in that position to not kill Saneless/ Soulless, but to simply damage them and possibly knock them out.

Lord Xarel had wanted to do this on his terms, but it was obvious Saneless wanted this. So, he decided to simply watch from inside his mind, not even trying to break free of the rage.

And it felt good... It felt so good that it scared Lord Xarel.

soullesshuman
02-26-2011, 07:14 AM
Saneless's blood rose from his wounds, blocking the blow. However, his light body and the impact sent him flying regardless, although he prevented any physical injury to himself- not like he needed more than he already had. He rolled on the dirt a bit, unphased by the pain that should've come as the earth rolled into his open flesh. He instead was too enraged by the insults flown at him. Bitch? He was no one's bitch.

"I'm pretty sure a lunkheaded bastard like you has no right calling me a bitch!" He howled, more by instinct than by thought as his blood rose. Saneless wanted to see crimson and so his next attack was with several sharp scythe-like blades from behind, from the trail of blood his other half had left behind in their dance of wounds before. The blood's main aim was to slice into the armor and attempt to slip through the cracks of armor to stab into skin- not enough to kill, but enough to hurt.

Because the bastard deserved it. Because the brat kept him restrained. Pulled by these opposing forces, Saneless fought halfheartedly. His spirit wanted to kill, but his spirit also wanted to please.

Lord Xarel
02-27-2011, 12:23 AM
"Is that... all there is? Some flashy tricks with your own blood?" asked the Knight of Darkness as the scythes of blood, while not slicing into Lord Xarel's armor, slammed him into the ground, causing the armor to smash onto the body, not bending but causing the Knight of Darkness to SCREAM from the sheer pressure. These magical attacks were getting to him.

"You seem to be desperate..." said the black knight as he stood back up, his voice seeming to become even darker. In fact, Lord Xarel's voice was no longer heard with the dark voice. "Almost like a wounded animal. You know you are about to lose, but yet you still fight. Hmph. IMBECILE! YOU CANNOT EVEN BEGIN TO IMAGINE WHAT I AM CAPABLE OF! THE LONGER THIS GOES ON, THE MORE PAIN I WILL GIVE YOU! AND TRUST ME, I WILL ENJOY THIS!"

"Calm yourself Knight," said Xarel from inside the mind of the Knight of Darkness as he felt the pure rage only growing. The Knight, however, didn't listen as it, through pure unfiltered rage, sprinted as fast as possible and jumped, yes jumped, towards Saneless, sheathing Golden Chaos as he took out Dragon's Fang and Titanus and began plummeting down, weapons ready to kill.

"KNIGHT! STOP!" yelled Lord Xarel as the Knight fell in front of Saneless... But froze. Lord Xarel was showing control. "STAY OUT OF THIS WEAKLING!" shouted the Knight of Darkness, not moving. Lord Xarel was determined for Soulless, and therefore Saneless, to not die by his hand, and he was not going to move.

"I might not have enough energy to control you, but I can stop what you're doing temporalily," said Lord Xarel as the Knight of Darkness fell silent, but only for a moment.

It was then that the Knight roared, like a male lion ready for the kill, as he took back control. He then brought his weapons down, screaming something in an ancient language as he did so.

"Saneless, GET AWAY!" shouted Lord Xarel from his dark prison.

Saneless drew up his blood, growling lightly as his eyesight began to go. His wounds were extensive and while his other half could thrive and survive with such a thing, he found himself struggling merely to stay conscious. He couldn't remain like this for long, and so he forced his blood to stop bleeding, instead using it to cycle through his body and ignore the wounds. He had enough ammo to deal with this human, after all. He backed up as the man came forward.

"Bring it on, you son of a bitch." He spat, his blood rising to surround him much like a protective bubble, whatever struck it would send its shockwaves around the blood rather than on the boy and he would remain unharmed other than the wounds he had now. He was ready for just about anything.

Lord Xarel
03-04-2011, 04:17 AM
"DAMN YOU STRAIGHT TO THE BURNING FLAMES OF HELL!"shouted the black Knight of Darkness as it struck the barrier of red with all its might, only to see his attacks do nothing. Upon wanting to destroy the barrier, it felt something weird. Like, it was losing its grip... Like it was losing conciousness...

"And stay there..." said Lord Xarel as he once again fell to his knees, his body and mind still tired from the battle, but if he had to keep going, he would. Unfortunately, nothing much would be happening for now, as he needed to get back in balance. This time might take longer than usual, since the Knight used a bit more force than usual.

"So Saneless... What say you we finish this?" asked Lord Xarel as he stood up on shakey legs, putting his weapons away and once again taking out Golden Chaos. "I have some other plans to take care of, and truth be told, you're boring me."

Lord Xarel knew what he was doing. He was wanting Saneless to lose control, to get out of that shell so he could finish this, but he didn't know if it would work...

Saneless's little ball of crimson wavered as Lord Xarel became himself again. The figure within whispered something, a curse, and spat to the side. Whatever words came from his lips were muffled by the sound of blood sloshing against itself. However, the bubble collapsed and the figure kneeled in the crimson mud. It took a moment for Soulless to regain his ability to see again- he always was the slower of the two to fit into the mold they called a body.

The first thing he saw were a few squirming worms , seeking air and a refuge, their homes swept away by a flood of blood and their very world shaken with the thunder of voices and the earthquakes of giants above. He found his limbs once more and rose up. The blood began to recede and pause, his wounds slowly but surely beginning to close and heal over. Soulless looked up at his friend and smiled.

"Ok, the game is over. S'was fun! Xarel wins this round." He spoke happily, skipping over to retrieve his fallen dagger and wiping off the blood on his already bloody clothes and sheathing the dull, rusty weapon. He grinned again, the abrupt end having given no real explanation on the surface, but the two children knew well the reason- Soulless saw that his darker half was losing his control on his anger, and promptly ended the battle before anyone could be seriously injured.

"Let's go play something else, ok?"

"Something else?" asked Lord Xarel as he watched Soulless, for once glad that he was back. However, he was still rather shocked from what Soulless had said. Xarel won? Lord Xarel doubted that. Soulless, or rather, Saneless, would have won if they struck when they did, but Soulless evidently knew something Lord Xarel didn't.

"So, what shall we play now?" asked Lord Xarel, curious, and a little nervous. Just what adventures did this child have in mind?
